What is covered. Device replacement for malfunctions caused by a manufacturing defect, on devices supplied new through Recovery Room Direct as an authorized dealer.

What is not. Misuse or accidental damage, water damage, damage in the carrier's possession, claimed through carrier insurance instead, and use outside the parameters in the instruction manual.

Do not open the device. A device found opened or unscrewed has its warranty voided and is returned to you at your expense. Call us before taking it apart.

Sending it in. Returns for service must ship insured; uninsured packages may be refused.

What if I need to return it?

14 days from delivery. This window is shorter than most of what we carry. The device must come back unused and like new in its original packaging with all components, accessories and documentation. Devices that have been used or powered on, or are missing components are not eligible.

What a return costs. A 15 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend a trackable, insured carrier.

Cancelling before it ships. Before we submit your order to the manufacturer there is no fee. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. Once the device has shipped the 14 day return process applies.

Warranty claims. A manufacturing defect outside the 14 day return window is covered by the manufacturer's warranty in the device's manual from the original purchase date. We handle all warranty coordination with Almagia International on your behalf as an authorized dealer.

To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase and we issue a Return Authorization number with full instructions. Do not ship the device back until you have it, because packages received without a valid RA number will be refused. Refunds are issued within 5 to 7 business days of the device being received and inspected.

Pulsed electromagnetic field, flexible emitters

The ELAMED ALMAG-02 PEMF system

The ALMAG-02 is a desktop control unit that runs preset pulsed electromagnetic field programs through flexible emitters: a main emitter of 16 coils, a flexible line of 6 and, in the larger of ELAMED's two sets, a local emitter of two round coils.

ELAMED makes the ALMAG-02 in Russia, and Almagia International in Brooklyn, New York, distributes it in the US alongside the ALMAG-01, the ALMAG+, the MAGOFON-01 and the DIAMAG. The whole line is on our Almagia page.

We sell it as ELAMED's delivery option 2, the complete set: the control unit with the main emitter and flexible line, plus the local emitter with its handles and stands, so all 79 programs can be used. What comes with it lists every item.

Programs

79 stored

Programs 1 to 50 run on the main emitter and flexible line; programs 51 to 79 use the local emitter, which is included.

Field at the emitter

2 to 25 mT

On the main emitter and flexible line. The manual rates the local emitter from 2 to 45 mT, and its preset programs go up to 35 mT.

Session

Up to 30 min

Each program sets its own time, from 7 to 30 minutes in the manual's program table, then beeps and stops.

What it is

How the ALMAG-02 is built

One power and control unit, and emitters of up to three types that plug into it by cable.

The main emitter

A flexible surface of four emitting lines with four coils each, which ELAMED calls inductors, so 16 in all. The lines are numbered 1 to 4 and marked "N" for north and "S" for south. It lies flat on the body or wraps around an arm or leg; carry it with both hands.

The flexible emitting line

A single strip of six coils, marked the same way, that lies flat or wraps around a limb. Fixators hold it in place on an arm or leg, and the fixing strap and hook join the main emitter or the line into a closed ring.

The US ALMAG-02 set: control unit, main emitter, flexible line closed into a ring, and the local emitter's two coils on their stands.

The local emitter

Two round coils on 1,100 mm (43 in) cables from a small pulse unit. Each coil mounts on a handle, or screws onto a stand whose holder screw sets the height. The face marked "N" is the working face; the "S" side is not used. Every emitter has a light that shows when its coils are producing a field.

ELAMED's studio photo of the same set. On the US 120 V unit the power switch sits on the front panel.

Where the emitters go

ELAMED's manual names the arms and legs, lower back, spine, neck area, back and chest, with the local emitter kept to one small area, and places the emitters over thin fabric such as a towel. The coil surfaces stay no warmer than 41 °C (106 °F).

The settings

The ALMAG-02 programs and field types

The ALMAG-02 has no manual mode. Each of its 79 stored programs fixes which emitters run, the field type, the field strength, the pulse rate and the session time, and you choose a program by its number.

Programs 1 to 50 Programs 51 to 79
Emitters used Main emitter, flexible line, or both Local emitter, alone or with the main emitter
Field on the local emitter Not used Stationary, 6 to 35 mT
Field on the main emitter and line Traveling or stationary, 2 to 25 mT Traveling, or stationary in program 55, where the main emitter runs
Pulse rate, per second 3 to 100 5 to 100
Session time 7 to 30 min 7 to 30 min

Every program runs without pauses. The manual's wider rated ranges are in the specifications below.

Traveling and stationary fields

In a traveling field the coils fire in sequence, so the field moves across the emitter: on the main emitter line by line (horizontal), coil position by coil position (vertical) or diagonally, and on the flexible line coil by coil. In a stationary field all the coils fire together. The field moves one way only; reposition the emitter to reverse it.

Day to day

Running the ALMAG-02

Before the first session

After shipping or storage in the cold, let the unit stand at room temperature for at least 4 hours. Wipe the outer surfaces twice, 10 to 15 minutes apart, with a wrung-out cloth moistened with a disinfectant such as 3% hydrogen peroxide. Plug the main emitter into connector 1 and the flexible line and local emitter into 2 and 3, markings up, and screw each connector in before switching on.

A session, step by step

Switch on, and the display shows the last program used. Wait 1.5 to 2 seconds before pressing anything; a button pressed sooner brings up "E5", which is not a fault, so switch off, wait at least 5 seconds and start again. Choose the program number with the arrow buttons, place the emitters and press START/STOP.

The field light comes on and the display counts down. At the end the unit beeps, the lights go out and the display returns to the program number.

Duty cycle

ELAMED's current manual rates the ALMAG-02 for 30 minutes on and 5 minutes off, a cycle it can keep up for at least 8 hours.

Faults and checks

On a fault the unit stops, sounds an alarm and shows a code: E1 or E2 for a loose connector or broken cable, E3 or E4 for an emitter fault, E5 for a missing emitter. For E1, E2 and E5, switch off, fix the connection and switch on again; for anything else, call us and we arrange service with Almagia. The magnetic field indicator in the box flashes when held to a working coil, but not below 10 mT, so ELAMED's yearly check uses program 47 and a local emitter program such as 64. Inspect the cables, plug, cord and housings at least every three months.

Cleaning and storage

Disinfect the outer surfaces after each use the same way, keeping liquid out. Store the ALMAG-02 in its packaging in a dry room, away from sun, heat and knocks. Do not twist or bend the cables, never pull or carry the unit by its cord, and use only the supplied parts.

Safety information

Buyer questions

ALMAG-02 questions buyers ask before ordering

What is the ALMAG-02 PEMF system?

The ALMAG-02 is a pulsed electromagnetic field device made by ELAMED in Russia and distributed in the US by Almagia International. Its control unit runs preset programs through a 16-coil main emitter and a 6-coil flexible line, plus the two-coil local emitter of ELAMED's delivery option 2, which is the set we sell.

What comes in the ALMAG-02 box?

This listing is ELAMED's delivery option 2: the control unit, main emitter, flexible line, local emitter with two handles and two stands, a magnetic field indicator, a fixing strap, a hook, two fixators, a 3 mm Allen key and the operating manual. No adapter, case or quick-start guide is included.

How many programs does the ALMAG-02 have?

The ALMAG-02 stores 79 preset programs. Programs 1 to 50 use the main emitter, the flexible line or both. ELAMED's manual states that programs 51 to 79 run only with the local emitter, which is part of delivery option 2 and included in the set we sell.

Does the ALMAG-02 have a manual mode?

No. The ALMAG-02 runs preset programs only. Each program fixes the emitters, field type, field strength, pulse rate and session time, and the controls are a power switch, two arrow buttons for the program number and a START/STOP button.

What field strength does the ALMAG-02 produce?

ELAMED's manual rates the ALMAG-02 field at the emitter surface at 2 to 25 mT on the main emitter and flexible line (2 to 6 mT when stationary) and 2 to 45 mT on the local emitter. The preset programs use up to 25 mT on the main emitter and line and 6 to 35 mT on the local emitter.

How long is an ALMAG-02 session?

Each ALMAG-02 program sets its own session time, from 7 to 30 minutes in ELAMED's program table, and the unit beeps and stops at the end. ELAMED rates the device for 30 minutes on and 5 minutes off.

Does the ALMAG-02 work on US power?

Yes. ELAMED's English operating manual lists a US version of the ALMAG-02 for 120 volt, 60 Hz power, drawing 50 VA plus or minus 7.5. It is built for a standard 120 volt, 60 Hz household outlet and is double insulated, electrical safety Class II.

Who should not use the ALMAG-02?

ELAMED's contraindications for the ALMAG-02 include an implanted pacemaker, pregnancy, malignant neoplasms, bleeding or reduced blood clotting, systemic blood diseases, severe heart rhythm disorders, aneurysm, the acute period of a heart attack or stroke, decompensated heart failure, severe high or markedly low blood pressure, active tuberculosis, acute infection or fever, and thyrotoxicosis. Consult your physician before use.

How do I check that the ALMAG-02 is working?

The ALMAG-02 comes with a magnetic field indicator that flashes when held to a working coil. It does not respond below 10 mT, so ELAMED's yearly check runs program 47 for the main emitter and line and a program such as 64 for the local emitter. The unit also stops and shows a code from E1 to E5 on a fault.

What warranty comes with the ALMAG-02?

ELAMED's manual sets a 24 month manufacturer warranty on the ALMAG-02 from the date of sale, covering repair or replacement, and excludes damage from outside repairs, any mechanical damage, liquids or unsuitable mains power. Recovery Room Direct coordinates any warranty claim with Almagia International, the US distributor, on your behalf.
