ThermaSol has made steam in Round Rock, Texas since 1958. The saunas arrived when Harvia bought the company in 2024, and every cabin on this page ships with its Harvia heater, control and stones already fitted.

ThermaSol Saunas: Eleven Cabins, Every One With the Heater Already Fitted

Eight outdoor cabins that arrive fully assembled, three indoor rooms built in place, and five Nordic Misty modules that join a cabin into a building. The heater, its control and the stones are fitted at the factory on every model, which is the decision that most often goes wrong on a sauna order.

The ThermaSol Sauna Cabin Lineup

Eleven cabins split three ways. Eight outdoor models leave the factory finished and travel as one piece, so there is no build on your weekend but a forklift or crane has to reach the pad. Three indoor models — the Lumaria, Aalto and Astra — arrive pre-assembled in panels and are built in place by two to four people. And the Nordic Misty is the one modular cabin, which five Annex modules bolt onto.

The ThermaSol Range Compared, Model by Model

Three of these cabins publish an interior area and the other eight do not, which is unusual at this price and worth knowing before you plan a room around one. Where the figure exists we have published it; where it does not, the table says so rather than deriving one from the exterior and a guessed wall thickness.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Model Exterior Interior People Heater fitted
Ombra 130 × 91 in 80 sq ft 4 to 5 Virta 10.5 kW
Nordic Dawn 86.8 × 85.4 in not published 4 to 5 Spirit 8.0 kW
Nordic Misty 87 or 60 in wide 44.1 / 28.0 sq ft 2 to 5 Virta 9.0 or Spirit 6.0 kW
Fortis 87 × 90 in 54 sq ft 3 to 4 Virta 8.0 kW
Spectra 82 × 90 in 51 sq ft 3 to 4 Virta 9.0 kW
Vue 79 × 87 in not published 3 to 4 Virta 9.0 kW
Vera 63 × 87 in not published 2 to 3 Virta 8.0 kW
Solaris 86 or 60 in wide not published 2 to 5 KIP 3 kW, solar
Lumaria 86.6 in wide, 2 depths not published 2 to 5 Virta 9.0 kW
Aalto 87 × 87 in not published 3 to 4 Virta 9.0 kW
Astra 85.4 × 85.4 in not published 3 to 4 Virta 9.0 kW

The two Nordic models are built by Kirami in Finland and are the only ones where the builder documents the construction: insulation thickness, roof build-up, floor detail and interior dimensions are all published. The rest are described rather than specified.

What Sets ThermaSol Apart From Other Outdoor Saunas

01The heater is already in it

Virta, Spirit and KIP are Harvia product lines, and the CX45, Xenio and Fenix controls are Harvia too. On a category where the heater is usually a separate line and a separate decision, having it fitted, controlled and stoned at the factory removes the most common way a sauna purchase goes wrong.

02Harvia owns the company

Harvia acquired ThermaSol outright in July 2024. That is why every heater in the range is a Harvia, and it has one practical benefit for you: these are heaters with published North American data behind them, so the load and the conductor gauge on each product page come from the manufacturer's own manual.

03Two cabins have a named builder

The Nordic Misty and Nordic Dawn are built by Kirami in Sastamala, Finland. Kirami publishes what ThermaSol does not, which is why those two product pages carry interior dimensions, insulation and roof build-up while the others carry a description.

Will a ThermaSol Sauna Fit Your Space and Your Power?

Two gates, and the second one catches more orders than the first. The footprint is in the table above. The circuit is here.

Heater What your electrician needs
Virta 6.0 kW 240 V single phase, 25 A, minimum 12 AWG
Virta 8.0 kW 240 V single phase, 33.4 A, minimum 8 AWG
Virta 9.0 kW 240 V single phase, 37.5 A, minimum 8 AWG
Virta 10.5 kW 240 V single phase, 43.75 A, minimum 6 AWG
Spirit 6.0 kW 240 V single phase, 25.0 A, minimum 10 AWG
Spirit 8.0 kW 240 V single phase, 33.4 A, minimum 8 AWG
KIP 3 kW 240 V single phase, 12.5 A, minimum 12 AWG

Figures from Harvia’s own North American manuals, documents Y05-0767, Y05-1238 and Y05-1516-B. Harvia publishes no breaker rating for any heater in this family, so neither do we: their manuals give the load and a minimum conductor gauge and leave the overcurrent device to the installing electrician under the NEC. Harvia also instructs, in writing, that a heater feed must not run through an RCD or GFI, which is worth passing on before anyone assumes otherwise. Conductors are 90 °C copper throughout, and the Spirit has no 208 volt three-phase option in North America.

Before You Order a ThermaSol Sauna: What to Know

  • The base is yours, and it is sized for the finished row. Kirami’s instruction for the Nordic Misty is blunt: never place the modules directly on the ground. Concrete slabs on a hard surface, bitumen roofing felt across the full width, then a levelling grid.
  • Machine access decides more orders than budget. An assembled cabin of 1,300 to 4,800 pounds exceeds what a standard liftgate will take, so a forklift or crane has to reach the pad.
  • The electrician is not included and must be licensed. ThermaSol requires it, and the warranty turns on it.
  • Lead time is twelve weeks outdoor, four to eight indoor. Built to order, so the clock starts at the order.
  • Freight is quoted, not published. Send us your postcode and we come back with a real figure before the build begins.
  • Leave service access to the heater. An installation that prevents it is excluded from the warranty.

The Nordic Misty Annex Modules

The Nordic Misty is the only cabin in the range that is modular. Kirami builds it as one of a set that stand side by side on a single foundation and bolt into one building under one roofline.

Module Width Interior What it is
Lounge 84 or 174 in wide 4.1 or 8.7 sq m Enclosed and glazed, the room you sit in afterwards
Changing Room 60 in wide 2.6 sq m Enclosed and lockable, with a keyhole lock
Terrace 59 or 87 in wide open deck Roofed, open sided, carries the sauna door latch
Pergola 52 or 79 in wide open frame Slatted roof over a deck, stands in front of the row
Privacy Fence fits either pergola screen panel Turns one open pergola face into a private one

Two things cost money if they are missed. The foundation is sized for the finished row, not for one module, and Kirami publishes a slab table by module class running from a two-module row to a five-module one. And when modules ship together the joining preparation is pre-completed at the factory; when one arrives later, the latch receiver, the cover boards, the door drip edge, the skirting and the side flashings all come off on site first. Buying the row at once is cheaper in labour than buying it in stages.

ThermaSol Warranty, Delivery and Returns

Warranty

A ThermaSol sauna carries two: one year from ThermaSol on the room from substantial project completion, and five years from Harvia on the heater, control and power box in a residential setting, with stones and elements at one year. The room must be registered within 15 days and installed by a certified electrician. Commercial use is excluded entirely.

Delivery

Freight, not parcel. The eight outdoor cabins move fully assembled on a flat bed and need a forklift or crane; the three indoor cabins arrive in panels. Freight is quoted for your address and confirmed with you before the build begins. Delivery is curbside and someone must be there to sign.

Read the full ThermaSol Shipping Policy

Returns

Thirty days from delivery, on a unit that is as new, unused, unassembled and in its original packaging. A restocking fee of up to 5% may apply and you pay the return freight; we do not deduct the original outbound shipping. Cancelling before it ships costs nothing.

Damage on arrival

A freight claim, not a return, and it is time sensitive. Note it on the delivery paperwork while the driver is there, photograph everything, and tell us within 48 hours. Handled that way it costs you nothing. Once offloading has begun the carrier is no longer responsible.

ThermaSol Saunas, Questions Answered

Is ThermaSol a Finnish company?

Not originally. ThermaSol was founded in 1958 and still makes its steam generators in Round Rock, Texas. Harvia, the Finnish sauna group, acquired the company in July 2024, and the sauna cabins arrived with that acquisition. Two of them are built by Kirami in Finland and the heaters throughout are Harvia.

Does the sauna come with a heater?

Yes, on every model. The heater, its control and the stones are fitted at the factory, which removes the decision that most often goes wrong on a sauna order. What is not included is the electrical supply, the licensed electrician ThermaSol requires, the base, and the machine that lifts an outdoor cabin into place.

What breaker size do I need?

Harvia does not publish one for any heater in these cabins, so neither do we. Their North American manuals give the current draw and a minimum conductor gauge and leave the overcurrent device to your licensed electrician under the NEC and local code. Every product page carries the load figure for that cabin's heater.

How long does delivery take?

Twelve weeks for every outdoor cabin and four to eight weeks for the three indoor models. All are built to order, so the clock starts when you order rather than when stock is allocated. Use that window to get the base ready, the circuit run and the access confirmed.

How does an outdoor cabin get into my garden?

On a forklift or a crane. All eight outdoor models arrive fully assembled, between roughly 1,300 and 4,800 pounds, and an assembled cabin of that size is beyond what a standard liftgate will take. Machine access to the pad is a requirement rather than a convenience. Measure the gate, the side return and anything overhead before you order.

Can I put one in a gym, spa or short-term rental?

No. ThermaSol's warranty excludes residential units used in any non-residential setting and names hotels, spas, gyms, health clubs and short-term rentals specifically. Talk to us before you order and we will quote from a range that is warranted for commercial use.

Is a ThermaSol cabin UL listed?

The Harvia heater inside it is, to UL 875. The structure itself carries no certification from any body, which is normal in this category where the heater is the electrical appliance and the room around it is a building product. A listed heater does not make the structure listed, and we will not tell you otherwise.

Do you sell the wood-burning versions?

Not at present. ThermaSol offers wood-burning variants of the Nordic Misty with a Harvia Legend stove, and those stoves carry CE and EAC marks rather than a US listing. We have held them back until that is resolved, because an unlisted solid-fuel appliance is a difficult conversation with a local inspector.

What does freight cost?

It is quoted rather than published, because these are crated units of 1,300 to 4,800 pounds going to residential addresses. Send us your postcode before you order and we will come back with a real figure and confirm it with you before the build begins.

Can I add a changing room or a lounge later?

Only to the Nordic Misty, which is the one modular cabin in the range. You can add a module later, but the joining preparation is pre-completed at the factory only when the modules ship together, so ordering the row at once saves installation labour.
