4 Person Saunas

Most buyers start with the seat count. At this size the real decisions are where the room goes and what circuit feeds it, because most of these rooms are outdoor traditional saunas on 240V. Our 4 person saunas for sale include backyard barrels, cubes and cabins, plus indoor infrared and traditional rooms, all from a factory-authorized dealer. Call (888) 500-5675 and we'll match one to your yard and your panel.

4 Person Saunas: Where It Goes, How It Heats and What Your Panel Needs

Four seats is where sauna shopping moves outside: most rooms at this size are backyard traditional saunas on 240V, and indoors you choose an infrared cabin or one of a smaller group of traditional rooms.

Below, the decisions in order: indoor or outdoor, which circuit, whether the heater comes in the box, and what the room sits on.

What a Four Person Sauna Really Holds

Every model here includes four in its maker's seated rating. Bench layout and shape matter as much as the number.

Seating

Four upright; lying down varies

From the bench layouts on each listing

Plan on four adults sitting up. No maker here rates a room for lying down, so check bench lengths on each listing if that matters to you.

Plan: who lies down, and how often

Shape

Barrel, cube or cabin

The outdoor shapes at this size

A 4 person barrel sauna seats four in facing pairs, tallest at the centerline. Cubes keep full height to the walls, with benches that can wrap a corner. The gable cabin peaks at the ridge.

Plan: how you want to sit together

Footprint

From about 5 by 6.5 feet

Exterior sizes, as listed

Outdoor rooms here run from about 59 by 80 inches of ground to about 98 by 97. The indoor infrared cabins measure about 70 to 74 inches wide outside.

Plan: the base, plus working room around it

A few rooms carry a different rating, from 2 to 4 people up to one barrel its maker rates for five, and one is titled as a 3-person model. All of them seat four; plan around the lower figure if everyone wants elbow room.

4 Person Outdoor Sauna or Indoor Room: How Each Is Heated

Here, heat type and setting travel together: infrared means an indoor cabin, and every outdoor room is a traditional sauna. The traditional rooms split on whether the heater ships with them.

Indoor infrared

4 person infrared saunas

Indoors, 120V on a dedicated 20A circuit

Radiant panels warm you at lower air temperatures, up to about 140°F where listed. Each one needs its own 20A circuit, and published warm-up times run about 25 to 50 minutes.

Fits: a basement, garage or spare room

Heater in the box

Traditional, ready to wire

240V stove circuit plus a 120V circuit

A few traditional rooms ship with an electric stove matched to the room. Their maker calls for two circuits: 240V for the stove and 120V, 15A for the controls and lights.

Fits: one order, no heater decision

Heater chosen separately

Traditional, your heater

240V, sized to the heater you pick

Most outdoor rooms ship without a heater. You choose from the maker's list, usually 6 to 9 kW electric, and some of these rooms also take a wood-burning stove.

Fits: Wi-Fi control or a wood fire

Heater size follows room volume, not seats, and each listing names the output its maker recommends. Stone capacity runs from 44 lb on a compact wall heater to 200 lb or more on a tower. Our Heater Finder narrows the list, and our guide to sizing a sauna heater shows the working.

Some infrared cabins here also carry near infrared elements, like our full spectrum saunas.

Power and Placement for Each 4 Person Setup

Each row follows the listings and manuals for the models it covers. Your licensed electrician sizes the wire and breaker.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Your setup Power What it sits on Who connects it
Indoor infrared cabin 120V on a dedicated 20A circuit Your level floor You, once the circuit exists
Indoor traditional room 240V heater circuit, plus 120V for controls and lights where listed A level floor; one room brings its own framed floor A licensed electrician
4 person outdoor sauna, heater included 240V stove circuit plus 120V, 15A for controls and lights A level pad, pavers or solid deck that carries the full weight A licensed electrician, both circuits
Outdoor room, heater chosen separately 240V circuit sized to your heater, plus power for the lights A level base that drains: pad, gravel under pavers, or a deck built for it A licensed electrician (a warranty condition for one maker)
Outdoor room with a wood stove No heater circuit The same base, plus a floor plate under the stove and a chimney your local inspector approves A qualified installer, after you check local burning rules and permits
The costly mistake at this size: pricing the sauna and not the run to the yard. Distance changes the wire your electrician specifies, so measure panel to spot before asking for a quote.

What Moves the Total on a 4 Person Sauna

Prices sit on each product card. At four seats, most of the extra cost is outside the sauna: heater, circuit and ground.

Cost item What drives it at this size
The room Barrel, cube or cabin, the wood, a porch or roof upgrade, and whether a heater comes in the box.
Heater and stones On rooms sold without one: the heater, any separate control, and stones if sold apart.
Electrical work A 20A circuit indoors, or a 240V run to the yard, sometimes with a second 120V circuit.
Base and site A pad, pavers or a load-rated deck, with level working room around it.
Freight and assembly Freight is free to the contiguous 48 states on most models, and some outdoor kits add it at checkout. Delivery is curbside. Professional Setup and Assembly is offered on every model, priced indoors and quoted for your address outdoors.

At full output a 6 kW heater draws at most 6 kWh an hour and an 8 kW heater 8. Multiply by your hours, warm-up included, and the rate on your bill.

Before You Order a 4 Person Sauna

Six checks, most of them outdoors.

  • Get the electrician's quote first. It should cover every circuit and the run from your panel.
  • Ask about ground-fault protection outdoors. Recent electrical code editions require it on many outdoor outlets at homes, while several heater manuals say not to feed a heater through one. Your electrician and inspector settle it.
  • Choose the heater before the base goes down. It sets the circuit; a wood stove instead needs a chimney your local inspector approves, installed by a qualified installer.
  • Build a base that drains and stays level. Ground that settles pulls a barrel or frame out of true.
  • Have a deck checked first. A full outdoor kit is heavy before the heater, stones and bathers go in, so ask a structural engineer.
  • Check the build date and return terms. Some models are built after you order, with an estimated build date on the listing, and cannot be returned once production starts.

4 Person Sauna Questions

How big is a 4 person sauna?

Outdoor rooms here take from about 59 by 80 inches of ground to about 98 by 97, and stand roughly 75 to 101 inches tall. The indoor infrared cabins measure about 70 to 74 inches wide and about 42 deep outside. Most listings give exact exterior dimensions.

Does a 4 person sauna need 240V?

The electric traditional ones do; a wood stove needs no heater circuit. Heater manuals rate a 6 kW heater at about 25 amps at 240V and an 8 kW at about 33, and your electrician sizes the breaker and wire above that. Infrared cabins here run on 120V with a dedicated 20A circuit. Call (888) 500-5675 to talk through your panel.

Can a 4 person sauna go indoors?

Yes. Indoors you can choose an infrared cabin or one of a smaller group of traditional rooms, and our indoor saunas page covers every size. Infrared needs a dedicated 20A circuit, and a traditional room needs a 240V heater circuit. Measure your ceiling first and compare it with the exterior height on the listing.

What size heater does a 4 person sauna need?

Room volume decides it, not the seat count. For the traditional rooms here, makers recommend electric heaters from 6 to 9 kW, and rooms that ship with a heater have one matched already. Some outdoor rooms also take a wood-burning stove instead, and each listing names the stoves its maker offers.

What does a 4 person outdoor sauna sit on?

A flat base that drains and stays level. The listings here name a concrete pad, compacted gravel under pavers, or a deck built for the load, and none insists on a poured slab. Barrels rest on their own cradles, while cubes and cabins sit on their own frame or floor.

Will four adults really fit in a 4 person sauna?

Seated, yes: every model here seats four within its maker's rating, though comfort depends on body size and bench layout. If lying down matters, compare bench lengths and depths on each listing before you choose, since no maker here rates a room for lying down.

Does the heater come with a 4 person sauna?

Only on some. A few traditional rooms ship with a matched electric stove and stones. Most outdoor rooms ship without one: you pick from the maker's recommended list, and it arrives as its own order line. Some heaters need a separate control and some makers sell stones apart, so read the heater's page.

How do I know I'm buying a 4 person sauna from an authorized dealer?

Recovery Room Direct is factory-authorized for every maker on this page, so each manufacturer's warranty stays in force on its own terms. On some rooms here, the maker's warranty also requires the hookup to be done by a licensed electrician. Call (888) 500-5675 to check anything before you order.
