Cube Sauna vs Barrel Sauna vs Cabin

Cube

Square room, rounded corners

Full height to the walls

Benches run straight along a wall or wrap a corner in an L on some models.

Fits: a square patio spot

Barrel

Round profile, curved roof

Tallest along the centerline

Benches face each other under the curve, and on the same ground it holds less air to heat.

Fits: the classic look

Cabin

Straight walls under a roofline

Peaked or flat roof

A framed room that often adds a porch or a changing room.

Fits: a bigger site

Base, Delivery and Assembly for a Cube Sauna Kit

Item What to plan
Base Level, well drained and load-bearing: a concrete pad, pavers on compacted gravel or a deck built for the load.
Delivery Freight to your curb, charged at checkout on most models.
Assembly Two people or more, or Professional Setup and Assembly, offered on most models and quoted for your site. Wiring stays with your electrician.
Finish Most cube kits come natural or black; black is painted on site with the paint supplied.
The mistake to avoid: ground that settles. An out-of-level base pulls the walls out of square and the door stops closing cleanly.

Before You Order a Cube Sauna

  • Measure the route. Shipments run about 78 to 90 inches long, and 155 on the changing-room model, so check gates and turns.
  • Ask your building department. Permits and setbacks vary by town, and the 240V circuit may need its own permit.
  • Book the electrician early. Code editions and heater manuals differ on ground-fault protection; your electrician and inspector decide.

Cube Sauna Questions

What is a cube sauna?

A cube sauna is an outdoor sauna with a square profile and rounded corners, so the walls rise nearly straight and the ceiling stays high to the edges. The cubes here are kits in thermally treated spruce or white cedar, seating two to eight, each with a heater you choose.

Is a cube sauna better than a barrel sauna?

Neither is better; they suit different yards. A cube keeps its height near the walls, with benches straight or wrapping a corner. A barrel is tallest on its centerline and holds less air on the same ground. Choose the cube for standing room, the barrel for the round profile.

What size cube sauna do I need?

Count who will sit together on a normal evening. The cubes here run from two seats on about 54 by 52 inches of ground to six seats on about 91 by 87. An eight seat model adds a changing room and runs about 152 inches long.

Does a cube sauna come with a heater?

No. Every cube here is sold without one, so you choose from the heaters offered for that model. The electric heaters offered run from 4.5 kW on the smallest room to 8 or 9 kW on the six and eight seat rooms, and the eight seat room also takes a wood-burning stove.

What electrical does an outdoor cube sauna need?

An electric heater needs its own 240V circuit, run from your panel to the yard by a licensed electrician. The electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the heater manual and local code, and settles ground-fault protection with your inspector. A wood stove needs no heater circuit.

What foundation does a cube sauna need?

A level, well drained base that carries the full weight: a concrete pad, pavers on compacted gravel or a deck built for the load. Level matters more than the material, because ground that settles pulls the walls out of square. The eight seat model is the heaviest here, so have its base specified for the load.

How is a cube sauna kit delivered?

By freight to your curb on one pallet or crate; the changing-room model arrives on a flat-bed truck. Freight is charged at checkout on most cube models, and each product page shows the terms. Inspect every piece before you sign, and plan on two people for the build.

Are you an authorized dealer for these cube saunas?

Yes. As a factory-authorized dealer, we sell each sauna with its manufacturer's warranty, on the terms each brand's own policy sets out. Both cube makers here write their warranties for residential use, and one requires a licensed electrician for every connection. Call (888) 500-5675 with questions about a model before you order.
