Wiring a 5 Person Sauna: One Circuit or Two

Every heat source here runs on 240V, wired by a licensed electrician as each maker requires.

Settle ground-fault protection early. The heater manuals for the pre-assembled cabin say not to use a GFCI breaker, yet code may require one outdoors. Your electrician and inspector make the call.

Before You Order a 5 Person Outdoor Sauna

  • Build the base first. Level, dry and ready before delivery day; see the foundation question below.
  • Walk the delivery route. The pre-assembled cabin arrives in one piece on a pallet about 86 by 98 inches, so plan machinery to lift it onto its base.
  • Ask your building department. A cabin this size may need a permit, and setbacks still apply.
  • Book help for the build. Professional Setup and Assembly is offered on most models here and quoted for your site. A kit build takes three adults and two ladders; your electrician handles the wiring.

Inside, four cabins give about 74 by 53 inches of floor, with 78 inches of headroom under a pitched roof or 81 under a flat one; the pre-assembled cabin gives 80 by 71.5. Outside, plan on 81 by 60 inches for a flat roof, or about 99 by 73 under a pitched roof.

Is there a 5 person infrared sauna?

Not with infrared alone. The two hybrid cabins pair full spectrum infrared, from four carbon panels and six near infrared elements, with an 8 kW stove, running one at a time. Their maker lists 118 to 132°F as the ideal infrared range. The 4 and 6 person pages in the size row include infrared-only rooms.

Can a 5 person sauna go indoors?

What electrical service does a 5 person sauna need?

It depends on the heat. Stove kits need a dedicated 240V, 40A circuit plus a 120V, 15A outlet, and hybrid kits one 240V, 40A circuit. The pre-assembled cabin takes 240V sized to your chosen heater, plus 120V for its lights. A licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire to local code.

What foundation does a 5 person outdoor sauna need?

A level, solid base that stays dry. The kit maker lists a concrete slab, pavers, gravel, cinder blocks or a solid deck, with the cradles on blocks to keep the cabin from settling. The pre-assembled cabin should sit at least 3 inches above the ground, on concrete blocks or strips over compressed gravel.

How is a 5 person sauna delivered?

By freight carrier to the curb. The four kits ship as boxed panels on a pallet, with freight included to the contiguous 48 states; the pre-assembled cabin travels in one piece by flat-bed truck, with a freight charge at checkout. Note any damage on the receipt before you sign.
