How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.
Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.
Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.
Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.
When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.
If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.
Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.
AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.
AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.
Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.
Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.
Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.
Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.
Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.
What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.
Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.
Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

Saunum Air 5 sauna heater package: heater, AirIQ control and stones for a small home sauna
The Saunum Air 5 runs only on the AirIQ control and ships without stone. This package puts all three in one order: the 5 kW heater in the basket you choose, the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control with the Saunum app, and four 33 pound boxes of sauna stone, for a home sauna of 106 to 212 cubic feet.
It suits the first sauna in a house, a new room or a small one with no heater or control yet. The parts arrive already matched, so install day is about wiring, not shopping. Saunum's US distributor, Bathing Brands, defines its Air 5 package with the same three parts. The other sizes sit together in our Saunum heater packages, and financing for the package can spread the cost.

Stone for either basket
4 boxes, 132 lb

On your electrical panel
20.63 amps
The lowest draw of the Saunum heaters we carry, at 240 volts.
Watch
Saunum's Air installation film, from carton to stones
Shot on a closed black basket Air, it follows an Air out of its box and into a room.
You see the unboxing, the flue and its cap, where the wiring enters, the stones going in and the salt sphere tray, with captions and no narration. It is a preview of the job, not a wiring guide: your electrician works from the printed manual.

In the package
What is in the Saunum Air 5 package, and what each part does for you
Four things arrive: the heater, its control, the salt spheres inside the heater carton, and the stone.
- The Saunum Air 5 heater, in your choice of basketA 5 kW heater with Saunum's fan built into its body. Closed black steel hides the stones and open stainless steel shows them, at the same price.
- The Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control, and the Saunum appThe heater is designed to work only with the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi sauna control, so it comes in the package, not on your shopping list. The wall panel sets temperature, fan speed, three editable presets, a weekly schedule and a "sauna ready" time. Over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi the Saunum app sets the temperature, starts the fan and books a start from the couch (phone not included). Prefer no Wi-Fi? Tap "Set up offline" (older panels say "Skip") and the panel runs it all.
- Seven Himalayan salt spheres, in the heater cartonThey seat behind the outlet grille, right in the fan's airflow. Using them is up to you, and when they wear down a Saunum Himalayan salt sphere set refills the tray.
- Four boxes of Saunum sauna stonesRounded olivine diabase, 2 to 4 inches, 33 lb a box: 132 lb for a basket that takes about 110 lb closed or about 130 lb open.

Yours to arrange
- Supply cableNo Saunum carton holds power supply cables; your electrician brings them.
- A licensed electricianRuns the circuit, connects the AirIQ and the heater, and fills in the installation report.
Also in the heater carton
- Both sensorsRoom temperature sensor on a 9.5 ft cable, door sensor on a 9.83 ft cable.
- The cablesElement and equalizer leads, plus the 16 ft cable to the AirIQ panel.
Why a package
Why order the Saunum Air 5 as a package
Because a small sauna has one install day, and every part needs to be on site for it.
- Nothing missing when the electrician arrivesThe heater cannot run on another control, and it ships without stone. Here both are already in the order.
- Matched, not guessedThe control is the one this heater is built for, and the stone count is Bathing Brands' figure for the Air 5 basket.
- One checkoutThe heater, the AirIQ and the stone go through checkout together, on one order number.
- The same total as the partsThe price is the heater, the AirIQ and four stone boxes at Saunum's advertised prices, added up, with no package charge and no struck-through "was" price.
When is the heater alone the better order? When a working AirIQ is already on your wall, or you are swapping out an Air 5 that has one. Everyone else starting a room from scratch needs all three parts.
Add-ons
Add-ons worth putting on the Saunum Air 5 order
The package runs the sauna. These pieces finish it, each made by Saunum for the Air, and each can go on the same order.
- Saunum Air safety rail, in the buy boxBentwood birch plywood on a steel frame that clips around the top of the basket and puts wood between the bench and the hot steel. Saunum's manual strongly recommends it, and asks that children stay at least 40 inches away while the fan runs. Size and fitting are on the Saunum Air safety rail page.
- Bottom air deflectorUseful where a bench ends close to the heater: the Saunum Air deflector, black steel, hooks onto the outlet and turns the air away from that bather's feet.
- AirIQ fan buttonA wood-faced button inside the room. The Saunum AirIQ fan button turns the fan on as you sit down and off as you leave, without stepping out to the panel; your electrician wires it to the AirIQ.
- AutoLeil automatic water dispenserThe Saunum AutoLeil waters the stones for you, holding a humidity you choose or splashing on a timer, set on the AirIQ panel. It needs a water supply, a pipe to the stones (the pre-bent Saunum AutoLeil pipe, its own item, or a 10 mm copper or stainless pipe bent on site) and current AirIQ software; we confirm the connection before it ships.
- Sauna aroma oil setThe Saunum sauna aroma oil set holds 10 mL of eucalyptus, grapefruit or sweet orange oil with a ceramic aroma bowl and a dropper; Saunum's product sheet sets the bowl in one salt sphere socket. For scented ladle water, the heater manual allows only fragrance made for saunas.
Living with it
Living with the Saunum Air 5 package, from the phone to the bench
Before you get home
Give the panel a "sauna ready" time, or start it from the app. Saunum puts warm-up at 45 to 90 minutes in an insulated, correctly sized room. Remote start works only with the door shut, which is what the door sensor in the Air 5 carton checks.
While it heats, and when you go in
The manual says to leave the fan off during warm-up and switch it on just before you go in. The AirIQ can still start the climate function by itself to protect the room from overheating, and Saunum asks you never to leave it running unattended. New to the fan? To find your setting, Saunum suggests testing from the lowest temperature and the lowest airflow.
On the bench
Ladle 6 to 7 fluid ounces of hot water at a time, never more. Any scent goes into that water, and only a fragrance made for saunas. Never use chlorinated water or seawater.
Once a year
Restack the stones. Look over the salt spheres at the same time and replace worn or broken ones; Saunum's AirSolo manual gives the test, a sphere whose diameter has dropped by more than half. A Saunum Himalayan salt sphere set refills the tray. Have the electrical connections checked yearly too.
Room size
Is the Saunum Air 5 package the right size for your sauna?
Saunum rates the Air 5 for 106 to 212 cubic feet (3 to 6 cubic meters) under a ceiling of 73 inches or more.
Saunum's manual counts it this way: length times width times height in feet; times 1.5 for log, plank or stave walls without inner insulation (an uninsulated barrel counts as staves); plus 3.0 cubic feet per square foot of glass, tile, brick, concrete or stone, a glass door included. A 4 by 5 foot room, 6.5 feet high, is 130 cubic feet; add a 14 square foot glass door and it reaches 172, still an Air 5 room.
| Saunum Air 5 packageYou are here | Saunum Air 7 package | Saunum Air Perfect 7 package | Saunum Air L 10 package | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rated room | 106 to 212 cu ft | 177 to 318 cu ft | 210 to 350 cu ft | 283 to 494 cu ft |
| Lowest ceiling | 73 in | 73 in | 77 in | 73 in |
| Draw at 240 V | 20.63 A | 28.75 A | 28.75 A | 41.25 A |
| Stone boxes | 4 | 4 | 4 | 6 |
Where two ratings overlap, the manual says take the larger heater, so 177 to 212 cubic feet goes to the Air 7; the Air Perfect 7 is a shorter 45.7 inch body with side flues that needs a 77 inch ceiling. Near a boundary? Try our sauna heater finder or the sauna heater buying guide, or send us the measurements. The full range is in our sauna heater packages.
Before you order
Before you order the Saunum Air 5 package: the electrician's list
Hand this to your electrician and builder now; it all comes from Saunum's manuals. The fan moves the room's own air, so the vents are still needed.

- No GFCISaunum rules one out on the heater
- Wired through the AirIQNever straight to mains; panel outside the sauna room, power unit somewhere dry, never above 113 °F
- Junction boxSplashproof, within 20 in of the floor
- Room and clearancesInsulated room, 73 in ceiling; 40 in above the basket, 20 in clear before the outlet, 2 in (closed) or 6 in (open) at sides and front
- Benches and sensorOutlet below the bench's lower edge; sensor 2 in under the ceiling, not over the heater, 20 in from vents, doors and windows
- VentilationIntake within 12 in of the floor by the heater, exhaust 24 to 47 in high across the room, 6 air changes an hour
- Installation reportThe form in the Air manual, filled in by the electrician; every claim needs it

Questions
Saunum Air 5 package questions
What is in the Saunum Air 5 sauna heater package?
The Saunum Air 5 heater in a closed or open basket, the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control, and four 33 pound boxes of olivine diabase stone, with seven salt spheres and both sensors in the heater carton. Supply cable and the electrician are yours to arrange.
Does the Saunum Air 5 package cost more than buying the parts?
No. It is the Air 5 heater, the AirIQ and four stone boxes at Saunum's advertised prices, added together, with no package charge and no compare-at price.
Can the Saunum Air 5 package run on another brand's control?
No. Saunum designed the Air 5 to operate only with its AirIQ, wired through the AirIQ control unit and never straight to the mains, which is why the AirIQ is in the package. Its panel mounts on a wall outside the sauna room.
What size sauna room suits the Saunum Air 5 package?
106 to 212 cubic feet, with a ceiling of 73 inches or more. Add 3 cubic feet per square foot of glass, tile or masonry, and multiply uninsulated log rooms by 1.5. Under 177, choose the Air 5; from 177, Saunum's take-the-larger rule points to the Air 7.
What wiring does the Saunum Air 5 package need?
A dedicated 240 volt single phase circuit for 4,950 watts at 20.63 amps, hardwired, with no GFCI. A licensed electrician supplies the cable and sizes it and the breaker from Saunum's manual and the NEC.
Do the parts of the Saunum Air 5 package arrive together?
Not always. The heater comes by curbside freight and needs a signature; the AirIQ and stone boxes go by ground parcel, sometimes on another day. Shipping is free to the lower 48.
What warranty covers the Saunum Air 5 package?
The heater has two years in a private home sauna against defects in materials and assembly, excluding labor, elements and salt spheres. The AirIQ has two years private, one public. Claims start with us and need the installation report.
Can I use the Saunum Air 5 package without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Choose "Set up offline" when the AirIQ asks about Wi-Fi and the panel still runs temperature, fan speed, presets and the schedule; you give up the app and remote start. Offline, you set the date and time by hand and the panel gets no software updates. Saunum wants internet once at installation for updates, and a phone hotspot works.
