Saunum Shipping Policy
Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold; a smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout. Saunum heaters, controls and accessories ship from the distributor's warehouse in Wheeling, Illinois. The delivery estimate on each product page is shown in business days.
The Air, Air L and Air Perfect heaters come by freight. Each heater ships palletized. The carrier calls to book a delivery window, someone has to be there to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside. Plan for two people to carry it in: Saunum puts the Air Perfect package alone at 121 pounds. Tell us before you order if a truck cannot reach your address.
The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails come by parcel. They travel by ground parcel service, with no appointment to book. Because a heater and its parcels move with different carriers, they can arrive on different days.
Stones ship in their own boxes. Saunum stones are rounded olivine diabase, 2 to 4 inches, in 33 pound boxes. An Air heater takes 4 boxes, an Air L takes 6 and an Air Perfect takes 4. Stones added from a Saunum heater's own page ship free with that heater. Stones are not in the heater box, so order them with it.
Inspect before you sign. Note any damage on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and tell us the same day. Report any damage to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes risks arising from transport, so this check is what protects you. Open the box on delivery day even if the electrician is weeks away. If a carton or pallet is punctured, crushed or structurally damaged, refuse it and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there.
When it ships. The estimate on each product page is based on the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. Stock moves, so we confirm the current position with the distributor when you order. If the distributor is out of stock on your model, we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.
Delivered in cold weather? Saunum notes that a heater stored or shipped below 23°F can trip its high temperature limiter. Let it reach room temperature before it is connected, and the manual shows how to reset the limiter if it has tripped.
Not included: the electrical work. Every Saunum heater is hardwired to a 240 V single phase supply by a certified electrician, through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo is hardwired to 120 V. Book the electrician for after the heater arrives.
