How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.
Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.
Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.
Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.
When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.
If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.
Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.

What does the warranty cover?
Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.
AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.
AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.
Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.
Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.
Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.
Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.

30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.
Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.
What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.
Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.
Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

Replacement set
Saunum Himalayan salt sphere set
Seven pink Himalayan salt spheres to refill the salt tray of a Saunum heater or AirSolo once the original spheres have worn down. Every unit ships with seven, so this set is a straight swap.
The spheres sit in the fan's airflow; using them is optional and does not affect how the heater works. A new Air or Air L heater ships with its seven spheres in a textile bag, and the installer seats them in the tray during setup.
They seat one to a socket in the tray between the air outlet grille and the fan. On the Saunum sauna heaters in the Air and Air L ranges, the tray sits behind the outlet grille at the base; on the Air Perfect it sits behind the bottom front panel; on the Saunum AirSolo it sits behind the lower grille, which hinges down once two bolts are loosened.
Salt is a consumable. Saunum's warranty excludes the salt spheres, and the heater manuals add that third-party spheres are not covered by the device warranty, so a set made by Saunum is the safe refill.

When and how to swap the salt spheres
Saunum asks for a yearly look at the spheres and a swap once they have worn down.
When to replace them
Saunum's maintenance schedule includes a yearly check of the salt. The AirSolo manual gives the test: when a sphere's diameter has dropped by more than half, replace the set.
Swapping them, as the manuals describe
- Air and Air L: lift the air outlet grille, pull its lower edge outward, and take it off. Place one sphere in each socket, then refit the grille.
- Air Perfect: unbolt the bottom front panel, set the spheres in their sockets, put the air deflector back if one is fitted, and refit the panel.
- AirSolo: loosen the two bolts on the air output grille, lower it on its hinges without force, swap the spheres, then close and bolt it.
Each sphere must sit in its own slot and clear the fan. Run the unit with the grille or front panel back in place, never without it, and do not start it if a sphere has come loose near the fan housing. Rinse the tray while it is empty; if yours is damaged, a Saunum replacement salt tray is sold separately for the Air, Air L and AirSolo.
A note on metal surfaces
The AirSolo manual warns that salt in a humid room can leave a layer of rust on metal surfaces, asks for proper ventilation, and says Saunum does not take responsibility for corrosion caused by salt. Ventilate the room as the heater manual specifies.

Salt sphere set questions buyers ask
Does a new Saunum heater come with salt spheres?
Yes. Each Air, Air L and Air Perfect heater and each AirSolo ships with seven Himalayan salt spheres for its tray. This Saunum Himalayan salt sphere set is the refill for when those spheres have worn down, or a spare to keep on the shelf.
Do I have to use the Saunum salt spheres?
No. Saunum's manuals call the spheres optional and say leaving them out does not affect the main function of the heater or AirSolo. If you do use them, each sphere sits in its own socket between the outlet grille and the fan, clear of the fan blades.
How often should the Saunum salt spheres be replaced?
Check them once a year. Saunum's AirSolo manual says to replace the salt when the diameter has dropped by more than half. Rinse the tray before the new set goes in.
Can I use other salt spheres in a Saunum heater?
Saunum's heater manuals state that the use of third-party salt spheres is not covered by the device warranty, and the warranty also excludes breakage caused by salt spheres Saunum does not recommend. Using this Saunum set avoids both exclusions.
Are the Saunum salt spheres under warranty?
No. The salt spheres are a consumable and Saunum's warranty excludes them, along with the heating elements. The heater itself keeps its own terms, which our Saunum warranty policy page lays out.
How does the Saunum salt sphere set ship?
By ground parcel from the distributor in Wheeling, Illinois. Ordered with a heater, the set travels on its own and can arrive on a different day from the heater's freight delivery.
