What “Traveling PEMF” Actually Means
Most consumer PEMF devices pulse a stationary field into a single fixed location. One coil fires, the field sits in place, the session ends. The ALMAG-01 works differently. Its four coils fire in sequence — each activating as the previous one completes — creating a magnetic field that moves through tissue along a defined path rather than sitting in one spot.
This traveling architecture is what ELAMED has built into the ALMAG series since 1982. At 20 mT field strength, the coil sequence is designed to penetrate tissue to approximately 8 centimeters — deep enough to reach major joints and spinal segments that surface-level devices may not access. Clothing does not need to be removed; the emitters work through fabric.
The ALMAG-01 is the entry point in the Almagia lineup — one frequency, one mode, one protocol. The 18-minute auto-shutoff session is designed to deliver a complete cycle without manual timing. There are no programs to configure, no frequency to dial in. You place the emitters, press start, and the device completes the session. If you want protocol flexibility or multiple frequency modes, the ALMAG+ adds three selectable modes. For full programmable clinical capability, the ALMAG-02 runs 79 programs across 8 body-system categories.
ALMAG-01 — Three Things That Define How It Works
Sequential Coil Firing
Four coils fire in sequence, one after the previous completes. The field propagates through tissue rather than holding position in one spot. This is what makes it a traveling PEMF device rather than a stationary-pulse device.
8 cm Penetration at 20 mT
At 20±6 mT field strength, the ALMAG-01 is designed to penetrate tissue to approximately 8 centimeters. For context, many consumer PEMF mats operating at lower intensities reach 2–4 cm. The depth difference matters for deep joint structures.
18-Minute Automatic Session
The device runs a complete session and auto-shuts off at 18 minutes (US 60Hz model). No timer required. A minimum 10-minute rest period between sessions is recommended. Most users complete one to two sessions per day.
