A tray that sits on the floor beside the tub and collects the water that splashes out, so the floor stays dry. 304 grade stainless with a Thermowood inlay that lifts out, so the pan can be tipped and wiped. Both sizes fit any IceBath or IceBarrel, so this is a choice of how much floor you cover.
Icetubs names salts, chlorine, bromine, magnesium, shock doses, flocculants and homemade mixtures as warranty exclusions, because they corrode stainless steel. Approved water treatment is a condition of cover, so this is worth adding with the tub rather than after.
Icetubs asks for a new filter monthly in private use and weekly in light professional use, and a fitted working filter is a condition of the warranty. Changing one takes seconds.
Screws onto a single wooden plank of the tub, usually in front of your seat, so a timer, music or a recording stays in view. Check the Thermo cover still lifts freely before the last screws go in. Ships with six star screws and a mini star screwdriver, and fits any IceBath or IceBarrel.

Every Icetubs cold plunge ships free to the contiguous 48 states. These are freight shipments, not parcel: the lightest crate on the range leaves the warehouse at 375 pounds and the heaviest at 474, so the tub and its cooling engine travel palletized on an LTL carrier, by appointment, to the curb. Call (888) 500-5675 if you want the delivery method for your exact model confirmed before you order.
Free freight to the lower 48. The price you see is the price you pay anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. Canada is 490 dollars, set by Icetubs and the same wherever you buy. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.
Scheduling your delivery. The carrier calls the number on your order to arrange an appointment window, and someone has to be there to sign. Delivery is to the curb, and the driver stops there. A 400 pound crate does not go up a drive or through a side gate on the driver's time, so arrange help, or add Professional Setup and Assembly at checkout and a crew will unpack it, assemble it, position it on site and take the packaging away.
Measure the route before the truck comes. The IceBath XL is eight feet long, and the IceBarrel XL is 40 inches across the tub. Check the path from where a truck can stop to where the tub will sit, gate widths and any turn included, before you order rather than after.
Inspect before you sign. Check the crate and the engine carton with the driver still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. Icetubs requires visible transport damage recorded on the delivery document at the moment of delivery and reported within 24 hours with photographs, and hidden damage has the same window. A clean signature lets the carrier treat the goods as delivered in good condition, which can end a claim before it starts, so open everything on delivery day even if you are not filling the tub for weeks.
Accessories. Drip trays, filter sets, the phone holder and AquaFinesse water care are parcel items and go out with your tub order rather than separately.

Icetubs gives its cold plunges a 2-Year Limited Warranty in private use and a 6-Month Limited Warranty in light professional use, against manufacturing defects and component failures, from the date you take delivery. Cover runs with the product's serial number, so keep your invoice. We open and manage the claim for you.
Freezing weather is a condition, not a suggestion. With the engine running the tub can sit in ambient temperatures down to 23°F; with the engine off the floor is 34°F. Between the two the engine has to run on automatic around the clock. Below 23°F the engine must be detached and stored indoors and the tub drained. Skipping either step is a named exclusion, and a burst pipe is the failure it prevents.
Water care and filters are conditions too. AquaFinesse is the only approved treatment; salts, chlorine, bromine, shock doses and homemade mixtures are named exclusions. Filters must be replaced monthly in private use and weekly in light professional use, and the engine must never run without water or a filter fitted.
What is not covered. Filters, AquaFinesse, the ozone generator and the water pump. Labor, travel and call-out charges, even when the part itself is covered. Cosmetic damage from misuse, natural weathering of the Thermowood, improper transport or relocation, unauthorized repair, and corrosion on a tub sited within 10 miles of the coast.
How a claim is settled. Under Icetubs’ terms, defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge, and after the first three months a replacement may be refurbished. Repairs must be approved by Icetubs first, you may be asked to help replace simple parts, and a replaced part carries the remainder of the original term. Labor, travel and call-out fees are not included.
If it arrives damaged, the clock is 24 hours. Note the damage on the delivery document before you sign and report it within 24 hours with photographs, visible or hidden. Other defects should be reported within two months of discovery, or 14 days for a business user.
Light professional use. The six month term covers a business where the tub is not the primary revenue generating equipment, such as a small studio, clinic or office, and use is capped at 15 people a day. A dedicated cold plunge studio falls outside this warranty entirely, so tell us before you order.

Return Policy
Return Policy
If an Icetubs cold plunge is not right, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it. All return communication is handled by our team at Recovery Room Direct. You do not need to contact the manufacturer or the distributor yourself.
Condition required. New, unused and resalable, with the original crating, the engine carton and all included parts. Once the tub has been filled and the engine has run it counts as used and cannot be returned. Keep the crate until you are certain you are keeping it, because a 400 pound tub cannot travel safely without it.
How to start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com with your order number. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back, and product returned without one can be refused.
What a return costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee that typically runs about 20 to 50 dollars. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard customer return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind, and return freight on a crated cold plunge is a real number rather than a formality, so ask us for a figure before you commit. Because these ship free, the outbound freight we paid is also deducted from a change of mind refund. When the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, we cover the return and nothing is deducted.
Damaged on arrival is a different process, and the clock is 24 hours. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crate and contents before you move anything, and call us the same day. Icetubs requires damage reported within 24 hours with photographs or video, visible or hidden. Transport damage is resolved with replacement parts rather than by returning the tub.
Cancelling before it ships. Call us as early as you can. Before we submit the order to the distributor there is no fee. After we submit it but before it ships, a small administrative fee may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
Accessories and water care. Same 30 day window and the same condition requirement. An opened bottle of AquaFinesse and an opened filter set are consumables and are not returnable.

The Icetubs IceBath XL is a reclining cold plunge tub: 73.2 inches of 304 stainless tub, 26.6 inches of width inside, a 60 degree backrest and a Thermowood shell, with its 1 HP cooling engine closing off the foot end. It holds 132.1 gallons, the most of the four Icetubs plunges we carry, and it needs about eight feet of floor plus room around the engine.

The XL keeps the design and enlarges it. Every figure that decides comfort grows, and so does the floor it takes.

Put simply: 7.1 more inches to recline along, 3.4 more inches between the sides and 25.4 more gallons around you, paid for with 7.1 more inches of floor length and 4.3 more of width.
Choosing between the two IceBath sizes
If the bather is tall or broad, or simply wants the sides further away, the XL is the size to measure for. If the space is shorter, the standard IceBath at 88.9 inches overall needs 7.1 inches less. Both need at least 20 inches of clearance around the engine. The stainless trough, the backrest angle, the engine and the warranty are shared between them.

Short of eight feet altogether? The upright barrels need far less length. The IceBarrel XL covers 40.2 by 62.3 inches and still gives 35.1 inches across inside.
Before you order
Six things to settle before a 445 pound crate ships
At 96 inches this is the longest of the Icetubs plunges we carry, so start with the route and work down the list.
- Eight feet of clear, straight run, plus clearance.96 inches with the engine at the foot end, and at least 20 inches of clearance around the engine on top of that. Measure from where the truck stops to where the tub will sit, gates and corners included.
- Electrics that can supply 14.5 amps.That is the engine’s peak at 110 volts. Icetubs wants a grounded, GFCI protected outlet fed from the main panel through a breaker that meets local regulations, and an electrician should confirm it.
- Firm, dry footing.A concrete slab, decking or any other surface that does not hold moisture. Soil and artificial grass are ruled out because damp wicks up into the Thermowood.
- A structure checked for 79 pounds a square foot.That is Icetubs' figure filled with a bather, and it is concentrated under the tub rather than spread across the deck. A deck builder or structural engineer should confirm the deck or floor.
- Twenty inches of clearance around the engine.The engine exhausts the heat it pulls out of the water, so the engine end cannot go against a wall or into an alcove.
- No chlorinated pool nearby, and a plan for salt air.Icetubs advises keeping the tub away from chlorinated pools. Within 12 miles of the sea the stainless needs a fresh water rinse every few days, and corrosion on a tub sited within 10 miles of the coast is not covered by the warranty.

Construction
Materials and layout
Stainless where the water is. The 73.2 inch trough is 304 stainless steel with no liner. Icetubs’ routine for it is a daily wipe of the waterline with a damp microfiber cloth and a deep clean every one to two months, and the steel is the reason chlorine, bromine and salt are banned, all of which pit it.
One long silhouette. The cooling engine is housed at the foot end in stainless with a slatted Thermowood top, continuing the line of the tub. The 22.8 inches it adds is the gap between the 73.2 inch tub and the 96 inch overall length.
Thermowood outside. Icetubs describes it as heat treated softwood designed to resist swelling, shrinking and moisture absorption. Sun, rain and cycles of heat and cold still gray and dry it over time, so the manual calls for oiling once a year, and weathering is excluded from the warranty.

Not every part carries the warranty. Alongside filters and water care, Icetubs names the ozone generator and the water pump as non warranted components. The tub and the cooling engine carry a 2-Year Limited Warranty in private use.

Budget for a dedicated circuit. The engine can draw up to 14.5 amps while pulling the water down and runs for hours at a stretch, which is a lot to share with everything else on a household circuit, whatever some listings say about standard outlets. Icetubs specifies a grounded outlet with GFCI protection from the main panel. Have a licensed electrician rate the circuit.
An inline breaker box on the power cable trips on leakage or a short. Keep it dry and off the ground.
Temperature and water
It chills to 37.4°F, set on the panel or through the Icetubs app over Wi-Fi. For warm water Icetubs lists a heater option that raises the same engine to 100.4°F. It has to be specified with the tub when you order, so ask us to confirm it for your order first. The pump moves about 15 gallons a minute, so the full 132.1 gallons pass through the 5 micron filter roughly every nine minutes, while the built in ozone generator at 200 to 300 milligrams an hour works on organic contaminants.

A shutdown on the XL means 132.1 gallons to drain, the most of the four we carry, so work out where that water goes before choosing the spot. Where winter nights drop below 23 degrees, plan on it as a seasonal routine.
The hot end
Air above 104°F is outside the engine's rated range and excluded under the same warranty clause. The 2.18 kW rating was measured with air up to 86°F, water at 68°F and 50 percent humidity, and Icetubs gives no output for hotter air, where any heat pump moves less heat. With the largest volume of the four, expect the longest pull downs in desert heat, and shade the engine side if you can.

Behind the figures: 500 liters cooled by 17°C is roughly 9.9 kilowatt hours of heat. At 2.18 kW of cooling for every 1.35 kW of electricity, that is about 6.1 kilowatt hours, costed at 18.34 cents, the June 2026 US residential average in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly. The standard IceBath, holding 25.4 fewer gallons, needs a little over three and a half hours and 90 cents.
The standby cost is unpublished. Icetubs states that once the water reaches temperature the engine uses very little power and, under the insulated cover in automatic mode, runs infrequently. No kilowatt hour figure backs that up, so we give you the bounds instead: above zero and below the upper bound. Meter a month for us and, with your permission, we will publish what you find.
Ongoing supplies
Icetubs asks for a new filter each month in private use and each week in light professional use, and a working filter is a warranty condition. Three come in the crate, which covers three months in private use. AquaFinesse is the only approved treatment. With the engine circulating continuously and one person using it daily, Icetubs says the water itself typically lasts one to two months between full changes.

Setup
Installing the IceBath XL
The tub arrives assembled. Setup is placement, connecting the engine, filling, clearing the air and fitting the filter.
- Level it while it is empty.Set the adjustable feet under the tub and the engine so the engine lines up with its connections. At about 1,676 pounds filled with a bather, this is not a tub you adjust afterwards.
- Make the engine connections.Fit the two connectors with their seals to the lower inlet and the upper outlet of the water loop, then attach the other ends to the engine. Leave the engine off: Icetubs asks for it to stand upright for 24 hours after unpacking before it runs.
- Fill, clear the air, then fit the filter.Fill by hose until the water reaches the upper outlet, then press the hose against the upper outlet and the lower inlet in turn to push trapped air out. Submerge the filter to release its air and screw it onto the lower inlet before the engine starts. The engine must never run dry or without a filter, and neither is covered.
How Icetubs wants the tub used
Chapter 8 of the operational manual sets out Icetubs' own user guidance: sessions of one to three minutes with five as the ceiling, head above water at all times, slow entry and exit, and someone else present every time. Children need adult supervision, shorter sessions and warmer water. Icetubs says cold immersion is not suitable for everyone, and these groups should avoid it unless a healthcare professional has cleared them: anyone pregnant; children under 12, unless medically advised and closely supervised; people with serious heart or circulatory conditions, including uncontrolled high blood pressure; epilepsy, fainting disorders or problems regulating body temperature; Raynaud's syndrome or peripheral neuropathy; asthma or another respiratory condition; and anyone recovering from surgery or injury. The manual also rules out a session with a fever or infection, open wounds or skin infections, straight after intense exercise, within an hour of a heavy meal, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Severe shivering, numbness, confusion or loss of coordination afterwards can signal hypothermia and needs medical help at once.
Before the first plunge
Keep the breaker box on the power cable off wet ground, set your temperature and allow around four and a half hours from tap water. Professional Setup and Assembly covers unpacking, assembly and positioning on site with the packaging removed; connecting the engine and filling stay with you.

We have no Icetubs reviews of our own yet, and we will not import anyone else's.
What the XL is for
Room: 26.6 inches of width inside and 73.2 inches of tub, with the lowest floor loading of the four at 79 pounds per square foot. The trade is about eight feet of floor plus engine clearance.
Commonly missed
A 14.5 amp circuit, the freezing thresholds and the 104°F limit on air temperature, all written into the warranty terms rather than the spec sheet.
Still unknown
Measured standby consumption through a winter, and how long a pull down really takes in desert heat. Owners who share their figures will see them published, with their permission.
A manual discrepancy. The engine specification in the supplied manual quotes the European 220 to 230 volt, 50 hertz model. The US engine runs at 110 volts, 60 hertz and draws up to 14.5 amps, as the cooling unit documentation and US dealer spec sheets state.

How does the IceBath XL differ from the standard IceBath?
It is the same reclining design in a larger size: 73.2 inches of tub instead of 66.1, 26.6 inches wide inside instead of 23.2, and 132.1 gallons instead of 106.7. Overall it measures 96 by 31.8 inches against 88.9 by 27.5. The 304 stainless interior, 60 degree backrest, cooling engine and warranty are the same on both.
How much floor space does the IceBath XL need?
96 by 31.8 inches, which already includes the cooling engine at the foot end. Add at least 20 inches of clear air around the engine, and check that the route from the delivery truck can take an eight foot tub through every gate and turn.
Does the IceBath XL need its own electrical circuit?
It is safest on one. The engine peaks at 14.5 amps at 110 volts, and Icetubs requires a grounded outlet with GFCI protection from the main panel and a breaker that meets local regulations, so have a licensed electrician rate a dedicated circuit before delivery.
Can the IceBath XL be left outside through winter?
Only within Icetubs' conditions. The engine may be off at 34°F and above, must run continuously on automatic between 23°F and 34°F, and must be disconnected and stored indoors with the tub drained below 23°F. Freeze damage outside those rules is not covered by the warranty.
Will the IceBath XL work on a deck?
It has the lowest floor loading of the four Icetubs plunges we carry, 79 pounds per square foot filled with a bather, but that weight is concentrated under the tub. Ask a deck builder or structural engineer to confirm the structure before ordering.
How long is the first cool down, and what does it cost?
About four and a half hours from 68°F tap water to 37.4°F in mild conditions, using roughly 6.1 kilowatt hours, around $1.12 at the June 2026 US average residential electricity rate. Icetubs does not publish a standby figure for holding the temperature afterwards.
Can the IceBath XL heat the water?

Is the IceBath XL roomier for a tall or broad bather?
It is the roomier of the two IceBath sizes where the body is concerned: 73.2 inches of tub against 66.1, and 26.6 inches of width inside against 23.2, with the same 60 degree backrest. Only the width is published as an inside measurement, so compare the bather with those figures rather than the 96 inch overall length, which includes the cooling engine at the foot end.
