How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free freight to the lower 48. Your order ships on a strapped pallet by insured LTL freight from the manufacturer's California warehouse.
When it ships. Orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days depending on the brand, and delivery to most addresses in the contiguous US takes 5 to 14 business days after shipment. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.
How you will know. You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. Most carriers then call 24 to 48 hours ahead to lock in a four hour window, and some send an email or text the morning of delivery instead. Respond promptly either way, because missed attempts trigger terminal storage fees.
How it arrives. A 53 foot semi truck arrives at your curbside and the driver delivers the pallet to the curb. Liftgate service is not included as standard, and standard delivery does not include bringing the equipment inside, up stairs, or unpacking. Someone must be present to sign.
If it arrives damaged. Walk around the pallet and check every box before signing the Bill of Lading. Cosmetic damage can be accepted, but if a carton is punctured or crushed, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. Once the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading we can file a valid freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost to you. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier, and claims filed after one are routinely denied. If you refuse for a reason other than damage, or without contacting us first, return freight costs may become your responsibility.
Where it ships. Free freight covers standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 states. Hawaii, Alaska and Canada are not available at standard checkout, so contact us before ordering for a freight quote.

What does the warranty cover?
Golden Designs traditional, hybrid and outdoor saunas carry a 5-year limited warranty on the sauna room — covering the wood structure when properly maintained, the control panel, control-panel harnesses and lights, from the date of purchase.
The stove or heater is not included. It carries its own manufacturer's warranty, which we confirm in writing with your order.
Outdoor placement requirement. When placed outdoors, a waterproof cover or the sauna's roof panel must be installed to protect the sauna room. Unprotected outdoor exposure is not covered.
What's not covered. Full commercial use, moisture or water seepage, outdoor installations not protected from weather (including the glass door), lacquer or paint applied to the wood, modifications, and normal wear. The manufacturer notes that on outdoor saunas some water seepage is normal and will not hurt the wood — it usually dries quickly in the heated environment.
Terms that apply either way. The warranty covers replacement parts; labor is not included. Coverage applies to the original purchaser at the original installation address in the continental US or Canada, and is not transferable. Commercial use reduces coverage to 1 year. The manufacturer requires registration within 60 days of purchase — we send the link after delivery. You prepay shipping, duties and taxes on warranty parts and insure anything returned, and coverage requires an intact serial number and unaltered proof of purchase. Minor surface cracks from natural wood movement are not considered defects.

What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. The item must come back new, unused and in its original packaging with all components, hardware and accessories. Anything assembled, used or modified cannot be returned, and electronic components such as power supplies and control panels are non returnable under manufacturer policy regardless of condition.
What a return costs. The manufacturer may charge a 20 percent restocking fee, and you are responsible for the return freight. The original shipping cost is not deducted from your refund. Any storage or carrier routing fees incurred during the return are the buyer's responsibility.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and you are fully protected. If you accepted the delivery and documented the damage on the Bill of Lading, we handle the freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost, with no restocking fee and no return shipping.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee as long as we have not yet submitted your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
To start a return. Email your order number to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com and we issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number within one business day. Write it clearly on every box, because the warehouse will not accept returns without it. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of inspection.

The Carinthia 3-Person Flat Roof Hybrid Outdoor Sauna gives you two completely different thermal experiences in a single all-Hemlock outdoor cabin. In traditional stove mode, the Harvia 8 kW wall stove drives the cabin to up to 190°F — high ambient heat, steam from löyly pours over the hot kiuas, a group session experience. Switch to Full Spectrum IR mode and the 8 PureTech emitters work at 118–132°F — lower ambient heat, deeper infrared penetration, better suited for extended solo recovery or those who find high heat difficult.
The two systems run independently, never simultaneously. A single main power switch selects the mode: stove, IR, or off. Harvia Wall Stove — Finnish Engineering at the Core
Harvia is a Finnish company founded in 1950 and recognized worldwide as the benchmark for sauna stove manufacturing. The wall-mounted design delivers heat uniformly through the full cabin volume while keeping floor space clear at every bench position. Dense mineral sauna rocks (kiuas) are loaded into the top of the stove — they absorb heat from the electric element and store it for steady, sustained heat delivery throughout your session.
To add löyly, pour a small amount of water over the hot kiuas. The water flash-vaporizes on contact with the stones, filling the cabin with a burst of humid steam that temporarily spikes perceived temperature and adds the humidity that defines the authentic Finnish sauna experience. Adjust intensity by pour size and frequency. Traditional Finnish practice involves multiple löyly rounds interspersed with short cooling breaks — a social rhythm that infrared sessions alone cannot replicate.
Interior and exterior digital control panels let you start preheat before entering the cabin and adjust temperature mid-session without stepping out. Preheat time to full operating temperature is typically 30–45 minutes — start before you shower or stretch and arrive to a ready cabin.

Traditional Stove: Up to 190°F
The Harvia 8 kW wall stove in stove mode delivers high-temperature convective heat up to 190°F — the authentic Finnish steam sauna experience. Add water to the hot kiuas for löyly: the steam burst at the center of Finnish sauna culture. Best for group sessions, high-heat protocols, and the full steam ritual. Löyly is not available in IR mode — steam is exclusive to stove mode.
PureTech Full Spectrum IR — 8 Emitters
8 PureTech emitters cover all three therapeutic infrared bands: 2 Carbon near-zero EMF panels (far + mid infrared) and 6 near-infrared elements for the complete wavelength range. IR mode runs at 118–132°F ideal — lower ambient heat, deeper infrared penetration. Better suited for extended solo recovery, post-workout use, or users who prefer lower temperatures. A separate bench-mounted NIR panel with independent on/off switch provides targeted lower-body coverage.

What is löyly and how does the steam process work?
Löyly (pronounced “loo-loo”) is the Finnish practice of pouring water over hot sauna stones to generate steam. The Harvia wall stove heats dense mineral rocks to high temperature — when water contacts the hot stones it flash-vaporizes, filling the cabin with a burst of humid steam that temporarily spikes perceived temperature. Does the exterior wood require maintenance?

Can I use both heating modes in winter?
Traditional stove mode works in any exterior temperature. For Full Spectrum IR mode, GD recommends waiting until exterior temperatures reach 45°F or above — in very cold conditions, stove mode is more efficient for bringing the cabin to operating temperature before switching, or just run stove-only in deep winter.
