How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Freight, quoted for your address. These are crated units of roughly 1,300 to 4,800 pounds going to residential addresses, so there is no flat rate. Send us your postcode before you order and we will come back with a real figure.
The outdoor cabins arrive fully assembled. All eight travel as one piece, so there is no build on your weekend, but a forklift or crane has to reach the pad. Measure the gate, the side return and anything overhead first.
The indoor cabins arrive in panels. The Lumaria, Aalto and Astra are built in place by two to four people. What matters is the route in, not the room itself.
Delivery is curbside and someone has to be there. The carrier calls to book a window and brings it to the kerb or driveway. Moving it onto the pad is yours to arrange.
Inspect before you sign. Note any damage on the delivery paperwork while the driver is there, photograph everything, and tell us within 48 hours. Refuse a structurally damaged crate and call us.
Lead times. Twelve weeks on every outdoor cabin, four to eight on the three indoor models, built to order from the day you order.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Two warranties, not one. ThermaSol covers the sauna room and Harvia covers the heater inside it. They differ in length and they are claimed in different places.
The sauna room: 1 year. From substantial project completion, covering defective workmanship and materials such as mis-cuts, rough lumber or knot loss.
The heater, control and power box: 5 years residential. One year in a commercial setting. Stones and heating elements carry one year either way.
Two conditions decide most claims. The room must be registered within 15 days of purchase, and installed by a certified electrician or qualified service representative.
Commercial use voids it. ThermaSol excludes residential units used in any non-residential setting, naming hotels, spas, gyms, health clubs and short-term rentals. Tell us before you order and we will quote a range that is warranted for it.
Who you call. Cabin claims go through ThermaSol and we start them for you. Harvia heaters are serviced by Harvia US directly, which is a separate route.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. Cancelling before it ships costs nothing at all, and on a twelve week cabin there is usually room to change your mind.
Condition required. As new, unused, unassembled and in its original packaging with every component. Once a unit has been sited, connected or assembled it is no longer returnable.
Get an authorisation first. Contact us with your order number, we raise it with ThermaSol, and you ship within 14 days with the authorisation number written on the crate.
What a return costs. A restocking fee of up to 5% may apply and you pay the return freight, which is substantial on a crated sauna. We do not deduct the original outbound shipping. Ask us for an estimate before you commit.
Damaged on arrival is a freight claim, not a return. Note it on the paperwork while the driver is present, photograph it before anything moves, and tell us within 48 hours. Handled that way it costs you nothing.
Refunds. To the original payment method once the unit is received and inspected, normally within 5 to 10 business days.

The short answer
The ThermaSol Ombra is the only cabin in the range with its own changing room
Eighty square feet inside a cabin ten and a half feet long, divided into a sauna and a private changing area at the entry. That division is the whole argument for the Ombra over anything else ThermaSol makes: you are not getting undressed in the sauna.
The ground
150 × 126 in
ThermaSol's placement clearance, against a cabin 130 inches wide and 91 deep. At 4,607 pounds assembled this is a slab decision, not a deck one, unless the structure has been engineered for it.
The room
80 sq ft
Cabin interior across both compartments, listed for 4 to 5 adults. Tyrol wood walls and thermo aspen benches over a high density resin composite floor, with a sky light above.
The circuit
240V, 43.75 A
The 10.5 kW Harvia Virta draws 43.75 amps on 240 volt single phase and wants a minimum 6 AWG 90 °C copper feed. That is a heavier conductor than any other cabin here.
Inside the cabin
Two rooms, and the dimension ThermaSol does not give you

The Ombra is the only ThermaSol cabin with an integrated private changing area at the entry. In a garden sauna that solves the problem photographs never show: where your clothes go, and where you stand while you cool down.
ThermaSol publishes the interior as an area, 80 square feet across both compartments, and does not break that down. Interior width, depth and height are not published for this cabin or any other in the range, and we are not going to estimate the split between the two rooms for you. If your plan depends on it, ask and we will put the question to ThermaSol.
What is overhead
A sky light, which is unique to the Ombra in this range, plus built-in rainwater management on a cabin that is large enough to need it.
A note on the materials
ThermaSol's own page describes the interior three incompatible ways across three sentences, one of which puts Canadian Hemlock both inside and outside. The spec sheet and the page's own feature list agree on Tyrol wood walls, thermo aspen benches and a high density resin composite floor, so that is what appears here. We have left hemlock off entirely rather than pick a sentence.
Before you order
Five checks, and on this cabin the first two are not optional
1. The base
4,607 pounds assembled, 4,827 in transit. That is roughly twice a Spectra. A properly specified slab is the normal answer here; a deck needs engineering sign-off against the load before you order rather than after.
2. The approach
Ten and a half feet of finished cabin has to reach the pad on a forklift or crane. Measure the gate, the side return, the overhead clearance and the turning room. This is the model most likely to fail on access.
3. The clearance
150 inches wide by 126 deep by 100 high. That is twelve and a half feet by ten and a half of working room.
4. The circuit
6 AWG copper to the cabin. Heavier than the rest of the range, and worth pricing with your electrician before you commit, particularly if the run from the panel is long.
5. The lead time
Twelve weeks, built to order.
How it is built
Three things about the Ombra you cannot change afterwards

The exterior
Thermally modified IPE Lapacho with a wave accent. IPE is a dense tropical hardwood, and the wave profile is the Ombra's signature: it is the detail that makes this cabin read as architecture rather than outbuilding.
The glass
Bronze tinted and semi private, so the cabin is screened from a garden path while remaining glass from the bench. ThermaSol names the product two different ways across its own documents, so no product code appears here.
The layout
The sauna and changing area division is structural. It is not a partition you move later, and it is the reason the Ombra needs ten and a half feet of length to deliver 80 square feet of interior.
Heater and circuit
A 10.5 kW Harvia Virta, and why we publish that number over ThermaSol's own spec sheet
The Ombra ships with a Harvia Virta under a Harvia Xenio control, ThermaSol part 14-CX45-U1-U3, with three boxes of Olivine Diabase dark grey stones at 110 pounds, a temperature sensor, two headrests and a wood platform.
ThermaSol gives three different heater figures
The spec sheet names part 14-HL9U1, which Harvia's own manual lists as a 9.0 kW unit, and in the same table states Required Power: 8 kW. The product page and the dealer price file both say 10.5 kW. Three numbers, one cabin.
The arithmetic settles it. Harvia publishes a floor area range of 28 to 79 square feet for the 9.0 kW Virta and 28 to 102 for the 10.5 kW. The Ombra's interior is 80 square feet, which is outside the 9 kW range and inside the 10.5. The only figure consistent with the cabin ThermaSol actually sells is 10.5 kW, so that is the one on this page.
For completeness: that same 8 kW power block appears word for word on ThermaSol's Spectra and Fortis spec sheets as well, across cabins of 51 and 54 square feet. It is boilerplate, and on an 80 square foot cabin it is badly out.
Why there is no breaker size here
Harvia does not publish one. None of the three Harvia North American manuals gives a fuse or breaker rating for any heater in this family. They publish current draw and a minimum conductor gauge. Your licensed electrician sizes the overcurrent device against 43.75 amps under the NEC and your local code, and on this cabin that is a conversation worth having early.
One instruction Harvia gives plainly, in section 3.7: the heater feed must not run through an RCD or GFI.
Running cost
What an hour in the Ombra costs to heat
A 10.5 kW element runs flat out while 80 square feet comes up to temperature, then cycles. Across a typical hour, counting both phases, budget roughly 6.3 kilowatt hours.
At 17 cents a kilowatt hour that is about $1.07 an hour of use, or near $14 a month at three one hour sessions a week. Substitute your own rate: it moves the answer more than the cabin does.
The Ombra is the most expensive cabin here to run, and the gap is smaller than the price gap. It is a larger room on a larger heater, not a less efficient one.
What you get
What arrives, and what is separate
In the delivery
The assembled cabin with both compartments finished, the Harvia Virta fitted, the Harvia Xenio control, a temperature sensor, 110 pounds of Olivine Diabase stones, two headrests and a wood platform. The Xenio pairs with the MyHarvia app.
Not in the delivery
The slab, the electrical supply and the electrician, the crane or forklift, and site preparation. Freight on a 4,827 pound cabin is quoted rather than published, so talk to us before ordering and we will get a real number for your address.
Delivery and siting
Ten and a half feet of finished cabin

The Ombra arrives built. That removes a long assembly from your weekend and replaces it with the hardest lifting problem in the range: one 4,827 pound unit, 130 inches long, that has to reach the pad.
Walk the route before you order. Gate width, side return, overhead branches, turning room for the machine and the ground it has to drive over when loaded. More Ombra orders are solved on the driveway than in the showroom.
Keep the service clearance honest once it is down. ThermaSol's 150 by 126 inch footprint is what lets a technician reach the heater, and an installation that prevents service access is excluded from the warranty.

Where the Ombra sits in ThermaSol's outdoor range
| Model | Exterior | Interior | People | Heater |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ombra | 130 × 91 in | 80 sq ft | 4 to 5 | Virta 10.5 kW |
| Fortis | 87 × 90 in | 54 sq ft | 3 to 4 | Virta 8.0 kW |
| Spectra | 82 × 90 in | 51 sq ft | 3 to 4 | Virta 9.0 kW |
| Vue | 79 × 87 in | not published | 3 to 4 | Virta 9.0 kW |
| Vera | 63 × 87 in | not published | 2 to 3 | Virta 8.0 kW |
Nothing else in the range is close. The Ombra is half as big again as the next cabin down and the only one with a changing area, which is why it needs a 10.5 kW heater and a 6 AWG feed where the others do not.
Buyer questions
ThermaSol Ombra questions buyers ask before ordering
What makes the Ombra different from the rest of the range?
The integrated private changing area at the entry. Every other ThermaSol cabin is a single sauna room, so you undress in the sauna. The Ombra divides the eighty square feet into two compartments, and it is the only one that does.
Why does the spec sheet say 8 kW when you say 10.5?
Because that line is boilerplate. The identical 8 kW block appears on ThermaSol's Spectra and Fortis spec sheets too, across cabins of 51 and 54 square feet. Harvia publishes a floor area range of 28 to 79 square feet for its 9 kW heater and 28 to 102 for the 10.5. The Ombra is 80 square feet, so only the 10.5 figure is consistent with the cabin, and the product page and dealer file both agree on it.
What size breaker does it need?
Harvia does not publish one and neither will we. The heater draws 43.75 amps at 240 volts single phase and wants a minimum 6 AWG conductor rated to 90 degrees C. Your licensed electrician sizes the overcurrent device to that load under the NEC and your local code. On this cabin it is worth pricing the run before you commit.
Can I put it on a deck?
Only with engineering sign-off. The Ombra weighs 4,607 pounds assembled before anyone is inside it, which is roughly twice the Spectra. A properly specified slab is the normal answer, and anything else needs confirming before you order rather than after the truck is booked.
How does something this size get into my garden?
On a forklift or a crane, in one piece. The Ombra arrives fully assembled at 4,827 pounds and 130 inches long, so walk the whole route first: gate width, side return, overhead branches, turning room and the ground the machine has to cross when loaded. This is the model most likely to fail on access rather than on budget.
Is the interior Canadian Hemlock?
We cannot tell you that it is. ThermaSol's own page says three incompatible things about this cabin's materials in three sentences, one of which puts hemlock both inside and outside. The spec sheet and the page's own feature list agree on Tyrol wood walls, thermo aspen benches and a resin composite floor, so that is what we publish. Ask us and we will get the question answered in writing before you order.
What is the warranty?
One year on the sauna room from substantial project completion, and five years on the Harvia heater, control and power box in a residential setting. Stones and heating elements carry one year. Registration is required within fifteen days of purchase and the room must be installed by a certified electrician or qualified service representative.
Can I put it in a hotel or a spa?
No. ThermaSol's warranty excludes residential units used in any non residential setting, naming hotels, spas, gyms, health clubs and short term rentals specifically. If the project is commercial, talk to us and we will quote from the right range instead.
Is the Ombra certified?
The Harvia Virta heater fitted inside is ETL Listed to UL 875, the US standard for electric dry bath heaters. No certification is published for the structure itself, which is normal in this category but worth knowing before you talk to a local inspector. A listed heater does not make the structure listed, because UL 875 treats the two as separate things.
