How does delivery work?

Free freight to the lower 48. The price you see is the price you pay anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. Canada is a set rate published by Icetubs and the same wherever you buy. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.

Freight, not parcel. The lightest crate on the range leaves the warehouse at 375 pounds and the heaviest at 474, so the tub and its cooling engine travel palletized on an LTL carrier, by appointment, to the curb.

How it arrives. The carrier calls the number on your order to arrange an appointment window and someone has to be there to sign. Delivery is to the curb and the driver stops there: a 400 pound crate does not go up a drive or through a side gate on the driver's time. Arrange help, or add Professional Setup and Assembly at checkout and a crew will unpack it, assemble it, position it on site and take the packaging away.

Measure the route before the truck comes. The IceBath XL is eight feet long and the IceBarrel XL is 40 inches across the tub. Check the path from where a truck can stop to where the tub will sit, gate widths and any turn included, before you order rather than after.

If it arrives damaged, the clock is 24 hours. Check the crate and the engine carton with the driver still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. Icetubs requires visible transport damage recorded on the delivery document at the moment of delivery and reported within 24 hours with photographs, and hidden damage has the same window. A clean signature lets the carrier treat the goods as delivered in good condition, so open everything on delivery day even if you are not filling the tub for weeks.

Lead times and accessories. Stock moves through a US distributor and most models ship promptly, and we confirm the position for your model when you order. Drip trays, filter sets, the phone holder and AquaFinesse water care are parcel items and go out with your tub order rather than separately.

What does the warranty cover?

Two years private, six months light professional. Against manufacturing defects and component failures, from the date you take delivery. Cover runs with the product's serial number, so keep your invoice. We open and manage the claim for you.

Freezing weather is a condition, not a suggestion. With the engine running the tub can sit in ambient temperatures down to 23F; with the engine off the floor is 34F. Between the two the engine has to run on automatic around the clock. Below 23F the engine must be detached and stored indoors and the tub drained. Skipping either step is a named exclusion, and a burst pipe is the failure it prevents.

Water care and filters are conditions too. AquaFinesse is the only approved treatment; salts, chlorine, bromine, shock doses and homemade mixtures are named exclusions. Filters must be replaced monthly in private use and weekly in light professional use, and the engine must never run without water or a filter fitted.

What is not covered. Filters, AquaFinesse, the ozone generator and the water pump. Labor, travel and call-out charges, even when the part itself is covered. Cosmetic damage from misuse, natural weathering of the Thermowood, improper transport or relocation, unauthorized repair, and corrosion on a tub sited within 10 miles of the coast.

How a claim is settled. Defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge, and after the first three months a replacement may be refurbished. Repairs must be approved by Icetubs first, you may be asked to help replace simple parts, and a replaced part carries the remainder of the original term.

The reporting clocks. Damage on arrival must be noted on the delivery document before you sign and reported within 24 hours with photographs, visible or hidden. Other defects should be reported within two months of discovery, or 14 days for a business user.

What light professional use means. A business where the tub is not the primary revenue generating equipment, such as a small studio, clinic or office, with use capped at 15 people a day. A dedicated cold plunge studio falls outside this warranty entirely, so tell us before you order.

What if I need to return it?

30 days from purchase. New, unused and resalable, with the original crating, the engine carton and all included parts. Once the tub has been filled and the engine has run it counts as used and cannot be returned. Keep the crate until you are certain, because a 400 pound tub cannot travel safely without it.

What a return costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee that typically runs about 20 to 50 dollars. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard customer return.

Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind, and return freight on a crated cold plunge is a real number rather than a formality, so ask us for a figure before you commit. When the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, we cover the return and nothing is deducted.

Damaged on arrival, and the clock is 24 hours. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crate and contents before you move anything, and call us the same day. Icetubs requires damage reported within 24 hours with photographs or video, visible or hidden. Transport damage is resolved with replacement parts rather than by returning the tub.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we submit the order to the distributor. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.

Accessories and water care. Same 30 day window and the same condition requirement. An opened bottle of AquaFinesse and an opened filter set are consumables and are not returnable.

To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back, and product returned without one can be refused.

The short answer

The Icetubs IceBath, a full length cold plunge you lie back in

The Icetubs IceBath is built for reclining: a 304 stainless trough 66.1 inches long, a backrest raked at 60 degrees, and a 1 HP cooling engine set in line at the foot end. You step in over a low side, the way you would get into a bathtub. Length is the first thing to check.

Run of floor

88.9 in

End to end with the engine, and 27.5 inches wide. The tub itself accounts for 66.1 inches of it.

Room to lie back

23.2 in wide

Inside the trough, for one bather reclined against the 60 degree backrest.

Weight on a deck

83 lb per sq ft

Icetubs' figure filled with a bather, about a third of the upright IceBarrel's. Have the structure checked.

How it is made

How Icetubs builds the IceBath

Icetubs’ own film from its factory: the stainless steel tub is cut, bent and blasted, and the Thermowood cladding is fitted by hand.

Fit

Lying back instead of sitting up

The IceBath needs a longer strip of floor than a barrel, and gives you a different session in return.

Body room
Tub length 66.1 in
Inner width 23.2 in (590 mm)
Backrest 60 degrees
Height 25.2 in
Water 106.7 gal (400 L)

In an upright barrel you sit with your knees bent. Here you lean into the rake and your legs lie out along the tub, so they are under water without folding. The tub stands 25.2 inches tall, so climbing out is a step over a low edge.

Reclined full length in the stainless trough, with the 60 degree rake supporting the head end.

IceBath or IceBath XL

The Icetubs IceBath XL is the same design scaled up: 73.2 inches of tub instead of 66.1, 26.6 inches wide inside instead of 23.2, 96 inches overall and 132.1 gallons. It needs a full eight feet of run. Where floor space is the limit, the standard IceBath fits it; where the bather wants more length or width, look at the XL.

Short on length?

Upright barrels are shorter, though wider. The IceBarrel is 53 inches long overall, about three feet less, at 30.6 inches wide; the IceBarrel XL is 62.3 inches long, about two feet less, at 40.2 inches wide.

Before you order

Seven checks before a 390 pound pallet arrives

Confirm these now, while every one of them is still cheap to fix.

  • About 7.4 feet of run, plus engine clearance.88.9 inches with the engine, and at least 20 inches of clearance around the engine on top of that. Walk the route from the truck to the spot and measure every gate and turn along the way.
  • 14.5 amps available at 110 volts.Icetubs specifies a grounded, GFCI protected outlet from the main panel, on a breaker that meets local regulations. An electrician should confirm the circuit.
  • A base that stays dry.A concrete slab, timber decking or any surface that does not hold moisture. Icetubs rules out soil and synthetic grass, which let moisture into the Thermowood.
  • Load on a deck or upper floor.Icetubs gives 83 pounds per square foot filled with a bather, and that weight sits directly under the tub, so ask a deck builder or structural engineer to approve the structure.
  • Open air at the foot end.The engine at that end pushes out the heat it pulls from the water. Icetubs asks for at least 20 inches of clearance around it, which rules out pushing that end against a wall.
  • Pools and salt air.Keep it away from chlorinated pools. Within 12 miles of the sea Icetubs asks for a fresh water rinse of the stainless every few days, and corrosion on a tub sited within 10 miles of the coast is excluded from the warranty.
  • Winters below 23°F.A shutdown routine applies and the warranty depends on it. The cold weather checklist further down sets it out.

Construction

How the IceBath is put together

Icetubs IceBath, three quarter studio view with the cooling engine at the foot end
The engine housing closes off the foot end in stainless with a slatted Thermowood top, which is why the overall length exceeds the tub.

A stainless trough. The whole interior is 304 stainless steel, with no liner to lift or replace. Day to day, Icetubs asks for a wipe of the waterline with a damp microfiber cloth, with a deeper clean every one to two months. The same steel is why Icetubs bans chlorine, bromine and salt: all three pit stainless.

The engine sits in line with the tub. Rather than standing alongside, as it does on the barrels, it butts against the foot end inside a stainless housing with a slatted Thermowood top, so the tub reads as one long piece. That housing is where the extra length in the 88.9 inch overall figure comes from.

A heat treated wood shell. Thermowood is heat treated softwood that Icetubs describes as designed to resist swelling, shrinking and moisture absorption. Long exposure to sun and weather still fades it to gray, which is why Icetubs asks for a yearly oiling, and that weathering sits outside the warranty.

No plumbing and no separate chiller: this cold plunge brings its own engine. For tubs paired with an external chiller instead, browse cold plunges with chillers, or see the whole Icetubs lineup.

Check the fine print on two parts. The ozone generator and the water pump are on Icetubs' list of non warranted components, together with filters and water care. The 2-Year Limited Warranty in private use applies to the tub and the cooling engine.

The decision that blocks the purchase

Electrics for the IceBath

The engine runs on 110 volts from a grounded outlet. What the circuit has to handle is 14.5 amps at peak.

Plan on a dedicated circuit. Plunges like this are sometimes sold as standard outlet loads. The engine can draw up to 14.5 amps during pull down and runs for hours at a time, which is a lot to share with the rest of a household circuit, and Icetubs calls for a grounded outlet protected by a GFCI breaker in the main panel. Take that figure to a licensed electrician and let them rate it.

Engine figures
Supply 110 V / 60 Hz
Peak current 14.5 A
Peak input 1.7 kW
Typical running draw 1.35 kW
Cooling 2.18 kW measured; 2 to 3.2 kW range
Noise 60 dB(A) at 1 m, about 3 ft

A breaker box on the power lead cuts the supply on a leakage fault or a short. Outdoors it needs the same protection from rain as the engine does.

What it will and will not do

As supplied, it chills to 37.4°F, set from the engine's panel or the Icetubs app. Warm water needs the heater option Icetubs lists, which takes the same engine to 100.4°F; it has to be specified when the tub is ordered, so ask us to confirm it for your order first. About 15 gallons a minute circulate through a 5 micron filter, turning over the 106.7 gallons roughly every seven minutes, and a built in ozone generator at 200 to 300 milligrams an hour breaks down organic contaminants as the water moves.

The rule that catches people out

Cold weather checklist

Icetubs sets freezing limits that change depending on whether the engine is on. They are warranty terms, so treat them as rules rather than advice.

  • Air at 34°F or aboveThe engine may be switched off.
  • Air between 23°F and 34°FRun the engine on automatic continuously, with no timer, so the water in the loop never freezes.
  • Air below 23°FDrain the tub, disconnect the engine and bring it indoors.
  • Air above 104°FOutside the engine's rated range, and running it there is excluded from cover.

The trap is the middle band. You cannot turn the engine off for a trip while nights sit between 23 and 34 degrees, and a burst pipe from doing so is not covered. Our outdoor cold plunge collection has other tubs designed to stand outside.

A full shutdown on the IceBath means letting out 106.7 gallons, so decide where that water drains before you decide where the tub goes. If your winter nights fall below 23 degrees, treat it as a seasonal routine.

Summer heat

At the top end, air above 104°F is a limit rather than guidance, excluded in the same clause as the freeze rules. The 2.18 kW cooling figure is rated with air up to 86°F, water at 68°F and 50 percent humidity; Icetubs gives no output for hotter conditions, and a heat pump moves less heat as the air warms. Shade for the engine and a slower pull down come with owning one in the desert Southwest.

Running cost

Running the IceBath

Two figures we can calculate and stand behind, and the one we cannot.

Chilling from tap water

$0.90

106.7 gallons taken from about 68°F to 37.4°F, roughly 4.9 kilowatt hours

Hours to temperature

About 3.5

In mild conditions, on 2.18 kW of cooling

Upper bound at typical draw

$5.94

If the engine ran all day at 1.35 kW. It cycles off, so the real figure is lower

The working: 400 liters cooled by 17°C is about 7.9 kilowatt hours of heat, removed at 2.18 kW of cooling for every 1.35 kW of electricity, or roughly 4.9 kilowatt hours, priced at 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the EIA's June 2026 US residential average. The IceBath XL, with 132.1 gallons, takes about four and a half hours and $1.12.

No standby figure exists. Icetubs says the engine draws very little once the water is cold and cycles rarely under the insulated cover in automatic mode, without putting a number on it. The truth sits somewhere between zero and that upper bound. If you own one and can meter a month, we will publish your result with your permission.

Filters and water care

A fresh filter monthly at home and weekly in light professional use, and a working filter is required for warranty cover. The three in the crate cover the first three months in private use. AquaFinesse is the only treatment Icetubs approves, and with the ozone system doing its share Icetubs puts full water changes at every one to two months rather than weekly.

Freight to the contiguous 48 states is included. Canada has a set rate, and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted individually.

Setup

Setting up the IceBath

It arrives in one piece. Your part is placement, the engine connection, the first fill, bleeding air out of the loop and fitting the filter.

  • Position and level with the tub empty.Line the engine up with the connections at the foot end and set the adjustable feet under both. Filled with a bather the IceBath weighs roughly 1,400 pounds, and on a tub this long even a slight slope shows along the water line.
  • Connect the engine loop. Two connectors with rubber seals go to the lower inlet and the upper outlet, with their other ends on the engine. Do not switch it on yet: Icetubs asks for the engine to stand upright for 24 hours after unpacking.
  • Push the air out, then add the filter.Once water reaches the upper outlet, hold the hose to the upper outlet and then to the lower inlet to clear trapped air, which can otherwise leave the pump noisy. Hold the filter under water until its air is out, then screw it onto the lower inlet. The engine must never run dry or without a filter, and neither is covered.

Session guidance from Icetubs

Chapter 8 of the operational manual covers it. Icetubs recommends one to three minutes and no more than five, head clear of the water throughout, a slow entry and exit, and never plunging alone. Children use it only with an adult supervising, for shorter times in warmer water. The manual names groups who should stay out unless a healthcare professional clears them first. On the medical side: serious heart or cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, circulatory disorders, epilepsy, fainting, conditions that affect temperature regulation, Raynaud's, peripheral neuropathy, asthma or chronic lung disease, and recent surgery or injury. On the temporary side: fever, a cold, flu or other infection, open sores or skin infections, the period right after hard exercise, the hour after a heavy meal, and alcohol or drugs. It adds pregnancy, and children under 12 unless medically advised and closely supervised. Seek medical attention straight away for severe shivering, numbness, disorientation or poor coordination.

Getting to temperature

Keep the cable's breaker box off the ground and out of standing water, set the temperature on the panel or in the app, and give it around three and a half hours from tap water.

Professional Setup and Assembly can be added with the tub, so a crew handles the unpacking, assembly and positioning on site and removes the packaging. Connecting the engine and filling stay with you.

Choosing within the range

Icetubs IceBath against the rest of the range

All four share the engine, the water care and the warranty. They differ in how you sit or lie, how much room you get and what they ask of the floor.

What we know so far

What we know and what we are still waiting on

We have not sold enough Icetubs yet to show reviews of our own, and we will not reuse other retailers' reviews.

The number that makes this model

Icetubs gives 83 pounds per square foot filled, spread along 88.9 inches of run. Whether a deck can carry it is for a deck builder or structural engineer to confirm.

Where buyers slip

The 14.5 amp circuit, the freezing limits and the 104°F air ceiling. All three are conditions of cover, and all three sit in the warranty terms instead of the spec sheet.

Still to learn

Real standby use across a winter, and how owners in cold states find the shutdown in practice. Tell us yours and we will publish it.

About the manual's electrical page. The engine specification in the supplied manual shows the European 220 to 230 volt, 50 hertz unit. Tubs sold in the US run the 110 volt, 60 hertz engine at 14.5 amps, per the cooling unit documentation and US dealer spec sheets, so use the figures on this page.

Buyer questions

Icetubs IceBath, questions buyers ask before ordering

Is the IceBath long enough to lie back in comfortably?

Measure along the tub rather than the footprint. The IceBath trough is 66.1 inches long and 23.2 inches wide inside, with the head end raked at 60 degrees, so you recline rather than lie completely flat. For more length or width in the same design, the IceBath XL gives 73.2 inches of tub and 26.6 inches of width.

Does the IceBath’s 88.9 inch length include the cooling engine?

Yes. The engine stands at the foot end in its own housing, so the 88.9 inch overall figure is the 66.1 inch tub plus the engine. Allow for the full length, plus at least 20 inches of clearance around the engine, which means that end cannot sit against a wall.

What electrical supply does the IceBath need?

Plan on a dedicated circuit rather than a shared household outlet. The engine uses a grounded 110 volt outlet and can draw up to 14.5 amps while cooling the water down. Icetubs requires GFCI protection from the main panel and a breaker that meets local regulations, and a licensed electrician should rate the circuit.

What are the winter rules for the IceBath?

At 34°F and warmer the engine may be off. Between 23°F and 34°F it has to run on automatic without a break so nothing freezes. Below 23°F, drain the tub and move the engine indoors. These are warranty conditions, and freeze damage from ignoring them is not covered.

Is the IceBath suitable for a deck?

Icetubs rates it at 83 pounds per square foot filled with a bather, around a third of an upright IceBarrel's 250. That load is concentrated under the tub rather than spread over the whole deck, so confirm the structure with a deck builder or structural engineer before ordering.

How long does the IceBath take to chill, and what does it cost?

Roughly three and a half hours from 68°F tap water to 37.4°F in mild weather, using about 4.9 kilowatt hours, or around 90 cents at the June 2026 US average residential rate. Holding the temperature afterwards uses less, although Icetubs does not publish a standby figure.

Can one person manage the IceBath cover?

The insulated Thermo cover on the IceBath comes in two halves with webbing handles, so you lift half of the span at a time rather than one full length lid. It fastens to the tub with four clips, which Icetubs recommends screwing down when the tub is outdoors so wind cannot lift the cover.

What happens under the IceBath warranty if something fails?

Icetubs gives a 2-Year Limited Warranty in private use and a 6-Month Limited Warranty in light professional use, on the tub and the cooling engine, against manufacturing defects. Filters, AquaFinesse, the ozone generator, the water pump and labor, travel and call-out fees are excluded. We open the claim; under Icetubs’ terms defective parts are repaired or replaced, you may be asked to help replace simple parts, and a replaced part carries the rest of the original term. Every tub is also held to 15 users a day and 3 an hour, and light professional use means a business where the tub is not the main source of revenue. Details are on our Icetubs warranty policy page.

What if the IceBath arrives damaged?

Write the damage on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph everything before moving it, and call us the same day on (888) 500-5675. Icetubs requires transport damage to be reported within 24 hours with photographs, whether it is visible or hidden. Defects found later have a different deadline: two months from discovery for a consumer, and 14 days for a business.

One last thing

Measure the length, then the circuit

A short call covers the things that are expensive to get wrong: whether 88.9 inches fits both the spot and the route, whether the circuit can supply 14.5 amps, and where the engine spends the winter.
