How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Hampton is a 3 person cedar indoor traditional sauna with a two tier bench

The Hampton (SunRay model 300TN) seats three in a cedar cabin 70 inches wide, on an upper bench across the back and a lower seat along the side. That split lets one person climb into the hottest air near the ceiling while the others sit lower, all warmed by a 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater loaded with stones for steam.

It is the cabin for a household that wants a proper Finnish style layout, with levels, without moving up to a four seat footprint. Compare it with every traditional sauna in our range.

Seating

Two levels

An upper rear bench and a side seat, so you choose how hot you sit.

Who it suits

Up to three

SunRay describes it as comfortable for two to three bathers.

The wood

A cedar room

SunRay moved the Hampton to cedar for 2026, and the knotty boards show in SunRay's photos.

Fit

SunRay Hampton 3 person sauna dimensions and bench layout

Outside, 70 inches wide by just over 47 deep and 80 tall. Inside, a room 66 by 43 inches with 72 inches of headroom.

Outside the Hampton
Exterior 70 W x 47.25 D x 80 H in
Floor area About 23 sq ft
Ceiling needed 84 in or more
Inside the Hampton
Interior 66 W x 43 D x 72 H in
Air inside About 118 cu ft
Seats 3, elevated rear bench plus side seating
Two-tier corner benches and backrest inside the SunRay Hampton, hygrometer on the back wall
The two bench levels meeting in the corner, with a backrest and the hygrometer on the back wall.

Why a second tier matters

Heat stacks up in a sauna: the air just under the ceiling is the hottest, the air near the floor the coolest. A single bench puts everyone at the same height. The Hampton's raised rear bench lifts whoever sits there into the upper, hotter air, while the side seat stays lower and gentler, which suits a household where not everyone likes the same heat.

Planning the room around 80 inches

The cabin is 80 inches high, 5 more than SunRay's single bench Southport. SunRay asks for at least 3 to 4 inches of clearance over the roof. That makes 84 inches, or 7 feet, the lowest ceiling to plan around; an 8 foot room has room to spare.

The heat

The Harvia heater in the SunRay Hampton sauna, and how hot it runs

A 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater stands in a wooden frame beside the benches, with stones on top for steam.

Sized for a three person room

SunRay's TN manual and its January 2026 data sheet give the Hampton a 4.5 kW Harvia heater, the same size as in the three seat Southport.

Wet or dry

Pour water from the included bucket and ladle onto the hot stones and the cabin fills with steam; leave them dry for dry heat. The thermo-hygrometer shows temperature and humidity side by side, so you can see the change.

Warm-up and temperature

The TN manual says to allow approximately 12 to 15 minutes for the sauna to warm up before a session; SunRay's newer Harvia heater sheet puts a usable temperature at 45 to 60 minutes, so a cold room may need the longer time. The top setting is 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum. You choose the setting with the control knobs on the front of the heater; when the cabin reaches it, the manual says, the heater switches itself off and on to hold it.

Respect the stones. They and the heater body will burn skin. SunRay's indoor sauna manual warns against a heavy pour of water, because the steam is boiling hot, and the TN manual asks you to keep sessions to 30 minutes or less and to leave at once if you feel light headed.

Construction

Cedar, glass and a vented ceiling: how the SunRay Hampton sauna is built

A cedar cabin with a tempered glass door, a dome light and a vent you can adjust.

The wood

SunRay's 2026 build of the Hampton is cedar, which replaced hemlock on this model in early 2026.

Door, handle and light

A tempered glass door forms the front, with what SunRay calls an upgraded door handle. A dome light mounts on the ceiling, and its cable passes through the ceiling to connect inside the heater.

Ventilation you can adjust

SunRay describes the Hampton's ventilation as adjustable. The vent sits in the ceiling, and the manual notes it can be opened at any time, as can the door, to let air into the cabin.

Before you order

Before you order the SunRay Hampton indoor sauna: five things to settle

A short list, all of it about the room and the wiring.

  • Ceiling of 7 feet or more80 inches of cabin and at least 3 to 4 inches above it
  • 70 by 47.25 inches of floorWith elbow room around it for standing the walls up
  • A solid, level baseSunRay's TN manual wants a sturdy level surface and, on a floor that can get damp, a moisture barrier underneath
  • A 240 V circuit of its ownHard-wired to the heater by a licensed electrician
  • IndoorsNo weather roof, and SunRay's warranty limits indoor saunas to indoor use

The Hampton in a sunlit room, the two benches and the heater visible through the glass front.

What to tell your electrician

Tell them it is a 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater that needs a dedicated 240 V circuit and a hard-wired connection. SunRay's TN manual defers the voltage and amperage to the heater manual that ships with the sauna, and your licensed electrician sizes the circuit from that manual and the National Electrical Code.

Running cost

SunRay Hampton sauna running cost at two sessions a week

Worked at two sessions a week of an hour each, at 4.5 kW and 18.34 cents per kWh (the EIA's US residential average for June 2026, Electric Power Monthly).

One session

$0.83

An hour of heater time, warm-up included: 4.5 kWh.

Each month

$7.15

Two sessions a week, about 8.7 hours, 39 kWh.

Each year

$86

104 sessions, 468 kWh.

An hour covers the TN manual's warm-up and a 30 minute session; if the room needs the heater sheet's full hour to warm, a session runs 90 minutes and $1.24. These assume the heater never rests. It does: once the cabin is at temperature the thermostat cycles it, so the real figure is lower. Recalculate with your own rate: 4.5 kW, times the hours, times your price per kWh.

Assembly

SunRay Hampton sauna assembly, from floor to dome light

One SunRay manual, the TN manual, covers the Aston, Hampton and Charleston, and the walls lock together with buckles built into the panels.

Start on a flat, hard surface with the bottom panel. The back wall stands on the back edge of it, the left and right walls hook to the back wall with their built in buckles, the front wall closes the box and the roof sits on top. Then the door handle goes on.

The heater stage comes next: pass the heater cable out through the hole in the side wall, assemble the wooden frame the heater sits in, and leave the connection to the electrician. With the heater placed, install the lower bench, the upper bench and the backrest. The hygrometer, sand timer and dome light screw on last, and the dome light's wire goes up through the ceiling and connects inside the heater.

SunRay's minimum is two adults.

Delivery day

When the SunRay Hampton sauna arrives at your curb

Freight is free to the curb across the lower 48, on a truck with a lift gate. SunRay's product sheet gives the shipping weight as 551 pounds. The buy box gives your delivery window in business days.

Before delivery

The carrier phones ahead. An adult needs to be home to sign, ideally with a helper for the carry.

At the truck

Walk around every carton before signing. Photograph and note any hole, crushed edge or water mark on the receipt.

Before you build

Unpack and inspect the glass door, the walls and the benches straight away, while the packaging is still on hand.

A change of mind is covered for 20 days from the day the Hampton ships, provided it has not been assembled. You pay to freight it back and a 20% restocking fee may apply; we never subtract the original shipping from the refund.

If you can see damage at the curb, write it on the delivery receipt and call us at (888) 500-5675 before the driver goes. Shipping terms: SunRay shipping policy. Returns: SunRay return policy.

SunRay Hampton vs the other SunRay indoor traditional saunas

Against the Southport, the Hampton trades a single long bench for two levels, adds 5 inches of height and swaps hemlock for cedar, on nearly the same floor. The Charleston is its four seat big brother in the same cedar style, about 16 inches deeper with a 6 kW heater.

Tiburon, Baldwin, Rockledge, Galaxie and the outdoor line: every SunRay sauna side by side.

Warranty

SunRay Hampton sauna warranty: ten years on the cabin

SunRay applies one warranty certificate to the Hampton.

The certificate's terms
The cabin 10 years on the wooden sauna panels, flooring, ceiling and glass: the parts needed to repair, or a replacement sauna if SunRay chooses
The heater and parts 1 year on all sauna parts, heater and electrical components included; parts are replaced, labor is not paid
Where and how Residential use only, and indoors for an indoor sauna. A commercial setting voids it
Who The original customer at the original delivery address. Not transferable

Wood moves in heat, and the certificate says surface cracks and minor blemishes are not defects. Keep the inside clean with a water soluble cleaner suitable for unfinished wood, and if a repair is ever needed, get SunRay's written consent first or it may not be reimbursed. Our SunRay warranty policy page has the full text; we will also email the certificate on request.

Buyer questions

SunRay Hampton 3 person cedar sauna: buyer questions

What are the SunRay Hampton dimensions?

Outside, 70 inches wide, 47.25 deep and 80 tall, per SunRay's TN manual. Inside, 66 by 43 inches with 72 inches of height. With SunRay's 3 to 4 inch gap above the roof, the room needs a ceiling of at least 7 feet.

Is the SunRay Hampton heater 4.5 kW or 6 kW?

4.5 kW. SunRay's relaunched site says 6 kW, but SunRay's TN manual, its January 2026 data sheet and its own Hampton page from July 2026 all give 4.5 kW.

What electrical supply does the SunRay Hampton need?

A dedicated 240 volt circuit, hard-wired to the Harvia heater by a licensed electrician. SunRay's manual refers the voltage and amperage to the heater manual, and the electrician sizes the circuit from it and the National Electrical Code.

How long does the SunRay Hampton take to warm up?

SunRay's TN manual allows approximately 12 to 15 minutes before a session; its newer Harvia heater sheet gives 45 to 60 minutes to a usable temperature, the safer figure to plan around. It heats up to 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum.

Is the SunRay Hampton made of cedar?

Yes, on current builds. SunRay changed the Hampton from hemlock to cedar in early 2026, as its January 2026 data sheet and its later product pages show. Units built before that were hemlock.

What warranty comes with the SunRay Hampton?

Ten years on the wooden panels, flooring, ceiling and glass, and one year on all parts including the heater and electrical components. Replacement parts only, no labor, for home use by the original buyer at the original address.

How is the SunRay Hampton delivered?

Free freight to the curb anywhere in the lower 48, on a lift gate truck, at a shipping weight of 551 pounds. An adult has to sign; check the cartons first and write any visible damage on the delivery receipt.

Should I buy the SunRay Hampton or the SunRay Charleston?

Both are cedar cabins from the same series, with two bench levels. The Hampton seats three on 70 by 47.25 inches with a 4.5 kW heater. The Charleston seats four, needs 71 by 63 inches and has a 6 kW heater. Choose by the number of people and the depth you can give it.
