How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Aston is a 1 to 2 person indoor traditional sauna for the smallest corner

At 53.5 by 36 inches, the Aston (SunRay model 200TN) needs the least floor of any SunRay indoor traditional cabin, yet it carries the same 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater as the three seat models. Stones sit on the heater, so a ladle of water gives you steam whenever you want it.

It is a personal sauna first: one person sits comfortably on its side bench seating, and two can share it. What it asks in return is height, because the cabin stands 80 inches tall.

Floor

It starts on the glass front, then moves in close on the Harvia heater in its wooden guard and its two knobs, the bench with the bucket and ladle, the door handle, the thermo hygrometer, the ceiling vents and caged ceiling light, and the sand timer, and ends on the cabin against a white background.

Fit

SunRay Aston 1-2 person sauna dimensions

Narrow and tall: 53.5 inches across, 36 inches front to back and 80 inches high outside, with 50 by 32 inches of room and 72 inches of headroom inside.

Outside the Aston
Exterior 53.5 W x 36 D x 80 H in
Floor area Under 13.5 sq ft
Ceiling needed About 84 in
Inside the Aston
Interior 50 W x 32 D x 72 H in
Air inside About 67 cu ft
Seating 1 to 2 people, side bench with a backrest

One person with room, or two together

SunRay rates the Aston for one to two. The way we read the interior: 50 by 32 inches is a relaxed space for one adult and a close one for two. If two people will use it most sessions, the 59 inch wide Baldwin is worth comparing.

Mind the ceiling

Like the Hampton and the Charleston, the Aston is tall enough that room height can decide the purchase. The Aston is 80 inches tall, and SunRay asks for 3 to 4 inches or more above its roof, so the room needs about 84 inches, which is 7 feet. A standard 8 foot ceiling is fine. A 7 foot basement with ducts or beams below it is not, and the 75 inch tall Baldwin is the better fit there.

The heat

How the SunRay Aston traditional sauna heats

A 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater stands in a wooden frame inside the cabin, its stones open on top.

A big heater for a small room

SunRay fits the same 4.5 kW size here as in the Southport and the Hampton, which hold three people. SunRay's TN manual, which covers the Aston, says to allow approximately 12 to 15 minutes for the sauna to warm up before a session. SunRay's newer Harvia heater sheet is more cautious: it says to expect a usable temperature in 45 to 60 minutes, so give a cold room the longer time.

Steam, then dry, then steam

The heater is a stone heater, so the Aston works wet or dry. SunRay includes a wooden bucket and ladle; pour water on the stones for steam. Your cabin reaches up to 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum. You set the temperature with the control knobs on the front of the heater, and once the cabin gets there, the manual explains, the heater turns off and on by itself to keep it there.

Session length

The TN manual recommends that a session does not exceed 30 minutes, and suggests a towel on the bench and the floor to keep the wood clean. If you start to feel light headed, it says, leave the sauna straight away.

The heater frame is there to keep you off a hot surface. The stones and the heater body will burn skin, and SunRay's indoor sauna manual warns that steam from too much water is boiling hot. Keep towels and clothing well away from the heater.

Construction

How the SunRay Aston indoor sauna cabin is built

A cedar panel room with a tempered glass door, an upgraded door handle, dome lighting and ceiling ventilation.

Door and handle

The front is tempered glass, and SunRay lists an upgraded door handle for the Aston: a pair of long vertical bars, stainless steel on one side of the glass door and wood on the other.

Light and air

A dome light mounts to the ceiling, and its wire runs through the ceiling to connect inside the heater. SunRay includes a ventilation system, and the manual notes that the door or the ceiling vent can be opened at any time to let air in.

Stainless steel and wooden pull handles on either side of the SunRay Aston glass door
The upgraded handle: a stainless steel and wooden pull on each side of the glass door.

Before you order

SunRay Aston sauna checklist: room, floor and power

The Aston is easy to place, with two exceptions: the ceiling height above, and the 240 V circuit behind.

  • Room height of 84 inchesThe 80 inch cabin plus SunRay's gap of 3 to 4 inches above it
  • 53.5 by 36 inches of floorPlus space to stand panels up and to swing the glass door open
  • A sturdy, level surfaceThe TN manual asks for a solid level floor, and a moisture barrier under the cabin if the floor can get damp
  • A dedicated 240 V circuitHard-wired to the heater by a licensed electrician
  • An indoor locationThe warranty limits indoor saunas to indoor use, and the cabin has no weather roof

The circuit

The TN manual says the sauna must sit on a dedicated electrical circuit and points to the heater's own manual for the voltage and current. Plan for 240 V and a licensed electrician, who hard-wires the 4.5 kW heater and sizes the circuit from that Harvia manual and the National Electrical Code.

Running cost

SunRay Aston sauna running cost, five sessions a week

We used SunRay's 4.5 kW heater rating and 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the June 2026 residential average in the US EIA's Electric Power Monthly. These figures assume 45 minutes of heater time, five days a week: the TN manual's 12 to 15 minute warm-up and a 30 minute session. If the cabin takes the heater sheet's full hour to warm, each session is 90 minutes and $1.24.

45 minutes

$0.62

3.375 kWh, warm-up plus a session.

Five days a week, monthly

$13.41

About 16.25 hours and 73 kWh.

Five days a week, yearly

$161

195 hours, 877.5 kWh.

All three are worst cases at full power. In practice the heater cycles once the room is at temperature, so it uses less. Multiply 4.5 by your hours and by your own rate to rework them.

Assembly

Assembling the SunRay Aston sauna, step by step

SunRay's TN manual covers the Aston with the Hampton and the Charleston. The walls join with buckles built into the panels.

Lay the bottom panel on a flat, hard, level surface. Set the back wall onto the back of it, then attach the right and left walls to the back wall with their buckles. The front wall goes on next and the roof drops on top. Fit the door handle.

For the heater, feed the heater cable through the hole in the side wall and assemble the wooden frame the heater stands in; the electrician then makes the connection. Install the bench and the backrest. Last, screw the hygrometer, the sand timer and the dome light in place with the screws supplied, feeding the light's wire through the ceiling to connect it inside the heater.

The manual calls for at least two adults.

Delivery day

SunRay Aston sauna delivery and freight

Free freight to your curb in the lower 48, unloaded from a lift gate truck. SunRay's product sheet gives the shipping weight as 523 pounds. The buy box shows the expected delivery in business days.

Before delivery

Expect a call from the carrier to set a time. Make sure an adult can be at home to receive it, with someone to help carry.

At the truck

Look at every carton before you sign. Anything punctured, crushed or water stained gets photographed and noted on the receipt.

Before you build

Unbox, then check the glass door, the walls and the heater while the packing is still on hand.

Not the right fit after all? The return window is 20 days from the date the Aston ships, and the cabin has to be unassembled. On a change of mind the return freight is yours and a restocking fee of 20% may apply, but we never deduct the original shipping.

Damage at the curb? Note it on the delivery receipt and call (888) 500-5675 before the truck leaves. Freight terms are on our SunRay shipping policy, and returns on our SunRay return policy.

The range

The SunRay Aston beside the rest of the SunRay indoor traditional line

The Aston has the smallest footprint of any SunRay indoor cabin; here it sits beside its closest siblings. Every model has a Harvia stone heater; the bigger ones add seats, tiers and, on the LX cabins, a stone wall and sound.

If the ceiling is the problem, the Baldwin is 5 inches lower and 5.5 inches wider, seats two properly and runs a 3.5 kW heater. If two people will share most sessions and the room allows, the Rockledge keeps the Baldwin's footprint and adds SunRay's luxury finish: a cultured stone back wall, color-changing LED lighting and Bluetooth audio. All measurements are in inches.

Warranty

SunRay Aston sauna warranty terms

SunRay's warranty certificate covers the Aston: ten years on the structure and one year on the parts.

Summary of SunRay's certificate
10 years, structural Wooden panels, flooring, ceiling and glass. The parts necessary to repair are covered; SunRay may choose to send a replacement sauna instead
1 year, parts and electronics Every sauna part, heater and electrical components included. Replacement parts only, no labor
Residential only Using it commercially voids the warranty; an indoor sauna must stay indoors
Whose it is The original customer, at the original delivery address. It does not transfer

Three practical points from the certificate: surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are normal and not defects; clean the interior with a water soluble cleaner meant for unfinished wood; and ask SunRay for written consent before any repair you want paid for. The full wording is on our SunRay warranty policy page, and we can email you the certificate.

Buyer questions

SunRay Aston 1-2 person traditional sauna FAQ

What size is the SunRay Aston?

53.5 inches wide, 36 deep and 80 tall outside, per SunRay's TN manual, with an interior of 50 by 32 inches and 72 inches high. Allow 3 to 4 inches or more above the roof, so the room needs a ceiling of about 84 inches.

Is the SunRay Aston a one person or a two person sauna?

SunRay rates it for one to two people. It is roomy for one adult on its side bench seating and snug for two. For two people most of the time, the SunRay Baldwin gives 55 inches of interior width against the Aston's 50.

What wiring does the SunRay Aston need?

A dedicated 240 volt circuit, hard-wired to the 4.5 kW Harvia heater by a licensed electrician. SunRay's TN manual sends you to the heater manual for the electrical requirements, and the electrician sizes the circuit from it and the National Electrical Code.

How fast does the SunRay Aston heat up?

SunRay's TN manual allows about 12 to 15 minutes of warm-up before a session, while its newer Harvia heater sheet says 45 to 60 minutes to a usable temperature; plan on the longer figure in a cold room. It reaches up to 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum.

What wood is the SunRay Aston made of?

Cedar. SunRay's current Aston data sheet and its product page both describe a cedar cabin; SunRay does not name the species beyond that.

What is the warranty on the SunRay Aston?

SunRay covers the wooden panels, flooring, ceiling and glass for 10 years and every part, including the heater and electrics, for 1 year. Parts only, with labor excluded, for residential use by the original buyer at the original address.

How is the SunRay Aston shipped?

Free freight to the curb in the lower 48, from a lift gate truck, at a shipping weight of 523 pounds. An adult signs for it after checking every carton; visible damage is noted on the delivery receipt before the driver goes.

Can two people assemble the SunRay Aston?

Yes, two adults is the minimum in SunRay's TN manual. The walls fasten with built in buckles, and the steps run from the floor panel up to the roof, then the heater frame, bench and fittings. The heater connection itself is for a licensed electrician.
