Free shipping to the lower 48. Your Almagia International order ships free to any address in the contiguous 48 US states, as standard insured parcel via ground carrier.
When it arrives. Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days of payment confirmation from the US distribution center in Brooklyn, NY, and standard delivery takes 4 to 7 business days from the ship date. You get a tracking number by email once your order leaves the warehouse. Transit times are carrier estimates.
How it arrives. Almagia devices are compact enough to ship without freight scheduling or delivery appointments. No liftgate or freight truck is required, and your device arrives at your door like a standard parcel delivery.
If it arrives damaged. Photograph the exterior of the shipping box before opening, then photograph any damage to the device or its contents and email the photos to us within 48 hours of delivery. We will file the carrier claim and arrange a replacement or issue a full refund, your choice. Later reports cannot be guaranteed.
Alaska, Hawaii and international. Shipping beyond the contiguous 48 states is not available at standard checkout; contact us before ordering to discuss options and obtain an estimate.
What does the warranty cover?

How long. Almagia devices manufactured by the ELAMED factory carry a limited 2 year warranty from the purchase date.
What is covered. Device replacement for malfunctions caused by a manufacturing defect, on devices supplied new through Recovery Room Direct as an authorized dealer.
What is not. Misuse or accidental damage, water damage, damage in the carrier's possession, claimed through carrier insurance instead, and use outside the parameters in the instruction manual.
Do not open the device. A device found opened or unscrewed has its warranty voided and is returned to you at your expense. Call us before taking it apart.
Sending it in. Returns for service must ship insured; uninsured packages may be refused.

14 days from delivery. This window is shorter than most of what we carry. The device must come back unused and like new in its original packaging with all components, accessories, applicators and documentation. Devices that have been used, powered on for treatment, or are missing components are not eligible.
What a return costs. A 15 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend a trackable, insured carrier.
Cancelling before it ships. Before we submit your order to the manufacturer there is no fee. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. Once the device has shipped the 14 day return process applies.
Warranty claims. A manufacturing defect outside the 14 day return window is covered by the manufacturer's 2 year warranty from the original purchase date. We handle all warranty coordination with Almagia International on your behalf as an authorized dealer.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase and we issue a Return Authorization number with full instructions. Do not ship the device back until you have it, because packages received without a valid RA number will be refused. Refunds are issued within 5 to 7 business days of the device being received and inspected.

Heat, vibration and a pulsed magnetic field in one probe
The ELAMED MAVIT (ULP-01) intrarectal device
The MAVIT, model ULP-01, is a small mains-powered unit with an intrarectal probe. The probe combines heat, vibration and a pulsed magnetic field, one button starts all three together, and a built-in timer switches them off after 30 minutes.
ELAMED makes it in Russia, and Almagia International in Brooklyn, New York, distributes it in the US. There are no modes or levels to set: the probe temperature is held by the unit, and the field and vibration run through a fixed automatic cycle. ELAMED's manual describes home use as following a physician's assessment, with a check-up by the physician afterward, so talk to your physician before you order.

What it is
How the MAVIT is built
Two parts: a power supply unit that sits beside you, and a probe on a 2.2 m (7.2 ft) patient cable.
The probe is 142 mm long, 23 mm wide and 15 mm thick (5.6 x 0.9 x 0.6 in), made of a medical plastic compound, and weighs no more than 60 g with its cable. One side is a flat working surface, and the tip has a beveled edge. Inside is an electromagnet with a moving core, and the electromagnet's winding both heats the probe and produces the magnetic field.
The power supply unit
The unit measures 115 x 95 x 57 mm (4.5 x 3.7 x 2.2 in), weighs no more than 600 g and has an impact-resistant polystyrene housing. It carries three indicators, POWER, WORK and START-STOP, and a single START-STOP button. POWER lights when the unit is plugged in. Pressing START-STOP turns on the heat, the field and the vibration together and starts the timer; WORK stays lit while the probe is connected and working, and goes out if the probe is unplugged or faulty. The mains cord is 2.1 m (6.9 ft) long.
The fixed cycle
The probe's working surface holds between 38.5 and 42 °C. The magnetic field is pulsed, from 3 to 30 mT at the working surface, and its pulse rate sweeps from 20 to 100 Hz in a cycle of about 12 seconds. The vibration sweeps across the same 20 to 100 Hz range, with an amplitude of 0.01 to 0.1 mm, felt as a light trembling of the probe. None of this is adjustable.
Using it
Using the MAVIT, step by step
A protective cover and a lubricant are required every time, and neither comes in the box.
What you need besides the device
ELAMED's manual requires the probe to go inside a protective cover (a condom) for every use. Check that the cover is intact before you start, never reuse one, and disinfect a used cover before throwing it away. The cover is coated with sterile petroleum jelly, or, if you have none, a cream or ointment that does not irritate the lining of the rectum.
A session
- Disinfect the probe and the first 10 to 15 cm of its cable, and fit a new cover over the probe.
- Connect the probe cable to the power supply unit and plug the unit in; the POWER light comes on.
- Lie on your back and apply the lubricant to the cover.
- Insert the probe with its flat working surface facing up, toward the prostate. Never insert it past the point where the probe flattens, where the cable joins it.
- Press START-STOP. The WORK and START-STOP lights come on and the 30 minute timer starts.
- At the end of the session the unit beeps and switches off the heat, field and vibration. Unplug the unit, disconnect the probe, remove the probe and take off the cover.
- Disinfect the probe and the first 10 to 15 cm of cable again, and disinfect the used cover before disposal.
If you feel burning or pain in the rectum during a session, stop the session with the START-STOP button and ask your physician for advice.
Cleaning, rest periods and storage
Disinfect the outer surfaces before the first use and after every use: wipe the probe and the first 10 to 15 cm of cable twice, 10 minutes apart, with a cloth moistened with 3% hydrogen peroxide, and keep liquid out of the power supply unit. Some darkening of the probe surface after disinfection is not a defect, according to ELAMED. The MAVIT is not built for continuous running: ELAMED rates it for 1 hour of operation followed by a 20 minute pause, for up to 6 hours, then a 1 hour break. After shipping or storage below 50 °F (10 °C), leave it at room temperature for at least 4 hours before plugging it in.

Do not use the MAVIT if any of these apply. Consult your physician before use.
- Acute prostatitis, or chronic prostatitis in an acute phase.
- Malignant tumors of the prostate or of the rectum.
- Active or suspected tuberculosis of the prostate.
- Acute inflammatory disease of the rectum.
The manual also says to use the MAVIT only as it describes, and never with a damaged power supply unit, cord, cable or probe. Do not bend the probe's working part, and do not twist, kink or pull on the cables. Do not unplug the unit by pulling the cord or carry it by the cord. Keep the plugged-in unit at least 0.5 m (20 in) from magnetic cards and storage media. The MAVIT is not for use near flammable anesthetics or in an oxygen-enriched environment.

ELAMED's English specifications list 120 volt, 60 Hz power. Its manual rates the device double insulated (electrical safety Class II, with a type BF applied part), the power supply unit IP42 and the probe IP41, and gives a mean service life of 5 years.
Warranty
ELAMED's manual sets a 24 month manufacturer warranty from the date of sale, covering repair or replacement. Damage from outside repairs, design changes, knocks, liquids or unsuitable mains power is excluded.
