How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free freight to the lower 48. Your order ships on a strapped pallet by insured LTL freight from the manufacturer's California warehouse.
When it ships. Orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days depending on the brand, and delivery to most addresses in the contiguous US takes 5 to 14 business days after shipment. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.
How you will know. You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. Most carriers then call 24 to 48 hours ahead to lock in a four hour window, and some send an email or text the morning of delivery instead. Respond promptly either way, because missed attempts trigger terminal storage fees.
How it arrives. A 53 foot semi truck arrives at your curbside and the driver delivers the pallet to the curb. Liftgate service is not included as standard, and standard delivery does not include bringing the equipment inside, up stairs, or unpacking. Someone must be present to sign.
If it arrives damaged. Walk around the pallet and check every box before signing the Bill of Lading. Cosmetic damage can be accepted, but if a carton is punctured or crushed, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. Once the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading we can file a valid freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost to you. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier, and claims filed after one are routinely denied. If you refuse for a reason other than damage, or without contacting us first, return freight costs may become your responsibility.
Where it ships. Free freight covers standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 states. Hawaii, Alaska and Canada are not available at standard checkout, so contact us before ordering for a freight quote.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
How long. Cold plunge tubs carry a 1-year limited warranty, when bought from an authorized dealer in undamaged original packaging.
What is covered. Defects in materials and workmanship. The polycarbonate insert, the wooden shell and trim and all other components each carry 1 year, and chillers carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty. Insulated covers carry 1 year, neoprene hose covers 90 days, and replacement filters are consumables with no warranty.
Labor. Any labor cost associated with a claim is not covered. Coverage applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
What you have to do. Keep the water balanced and do not let it freeze. Corrosion from poor water maintenance and freeze damage are the two most common reasons a claim is declined. Keep your proof of purchase.
What is not covered. Fading or discoloration from UV exposure, damage from storage in below-freezing temperatures, and corrosion or discoloration caused by lack of water maintenance.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. The item must come back new, unused and in its original packaging with all components, hardware and accessories. Anything assembled, used or modified cannot be returned, and electronic components such as power supplies and control panels are non returnable under manufacturer policy regardless of condition.
What a return costs. The manufacturer may charge a 20 percent restocking fee, and you are responsible for the return freight. The original shipping cost is not deducted from your refund. Any storage or carrier routing fees incurred during the return are the buyer's responsibility.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and you are fully protected. If you accepted the delivery and documented the damage on the Bill of Lading, we handle the freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost, with no restocking fee and no return shipping.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee as long as we have not yet submitted your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
To start a return. Email your order number to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com and we issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number within one business day. Write it clearly on every box, because the warehouse will not accept returns without it. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of inspection.

What Sets the SS Barrel Apart

The Dynamic Cold Therapy product guide describes stainless as the finish some buyers prefer for its look, and is frank that keeping the polished look can be a challenge. It also warns that chlorine and bromine can cause rust and corrosion in stainless, that salt in the air can corrode it, and that stainless is not recommended in coastal regions, where it recommends PVC within 50 miles of the coast. For commercial use, or if you prefer chemical water treatment, the guide recommends 316 stainless rather than this tub’s 304.

The tub itself has no filtration. Its manual says the optional chiller is what brings the built in particle filter and ozonator, so without one the manual asks you to cover the tub, replace the water every 3 to 5 days and treat it. With a chiller you get a 20 micron cartridge and ozone, and the manufacturer then recommends changing the water at least once a week.

The Pacific Cedar exterior is naturally rot resistant and aromatic. The included entry step has two treads, each 11.22 inches deep and 19.69 inches wide, at 9.84 and 20.87 inches on the manual’s drawing. The stainless bench is 9 inches high, 38 inches wide and up to 16 inches deep.
Add the Premier Chiller: One Complete Cold Plunge System
Choose a With Premier Chiller configuration above and your Pacific Cedar Barrel ships as a complete system: the barrel and the Premier Edition chiller together, connected in minutes through the barrel’s pre-installed quick-connect fittings.
Cools and heats, one unit. Dynamic Cold Therapy sells the Premier as a cold and heat system. It holds water anywhere from 37°F to 85°F on the one unit. The product guide gives the Premier a digital LED display with touch keys, and the manual lists WiFi remote control through an Android or iOS app.
0.8 HP or 1.0 HP. Dynamic Cold Therapy publishes no maximum tub size, and says every DCT chiller works with every DCT cold plunge. By the Premier manual the 0.8 HP gives 2,000 W of cooling and the 1.0 HP 3,100 W. The reference cooling rates differ between the manufacturer’s own documents: the manual gives 1 to 3°F every 60 minutes for the 0.8 HP and every 40 for the 1.0 HP, while the product guide gives every 40 and every 20. Either way the 1.0 HP is the faster of the two.
Filtration with the chiller. The Premier brings a 20 micron cartridge, a hair strainer and a built in ozone pump, which the product guide sets to an adjustable 0 to 3 minutes every 15. The manual requires a dedicated 120 V, 15 A circuit with a GFCI outlet, and the manufacturer’s FAQ says the chillers are rated for outdoor use but are not weather-proofed, so keep rain and direct sun off the unit.
Prefer to source a chiller separately or use ice? Tub Only ships chiller ready with capped fittings, so you can add a chiller at any time.

Free Freight Shipping, Contiguous 48 States
The SS Barrel ships via LTL freight carrier at no charge. Curbside delivery on a pallet to the contiguous 48 states. Typical transit is 5 to 14 business days after the order is processed and ships.
Filled, the barrel is about 1,220 to 1,430 pounds before a person gets in, and 220 pounds empty. The manual asks for a flat, stable, waterproof surface that can carry that weight; on a deck or an upper floor, have a builder or structural engineer confirm the load. Plan on two or three people on delivery day, and position it before filling.
The tub manual has no assembly steps. Place the barrel, set the step and fill it with water. If you are connecting a chiller, wrap the threads with Teflon tape, connect the hoses hand tight, and stand the chiller upright for 20 minutes before its first start.
Cedar Barrel (SS) vs. Cedar Oval Barrel
| Feature | Cedar Barrel (SS), This Product | Cedar Oval Barrel |
|---|---|---|
| Interior Material | 304 Stainless Steel | PVC Liner |
| Capacity | 120 to 145 gallons | 105 to 125 gallons |
| Shape | Round upright | Oval horizontal |
| Exterior Height | 39.5” | 35” |
| Diameter / Length | 42” diameter | 50”L × 30”W |
| Filtration Included | No, ozone comes with a chiller | No, ozone comes with a chiller |
| Entry Step | Yes, cedar step included | Yes, entry step included |
| Best For | More water, stainless interior | Smaller footprint, less water |
Honest take: The oval holds 105 to 125 gallons against this barrel’s 120 to 145, and its bench is 27 inches wide against 38. Neither tub includes filtration; that comes with a chiller. The product guide says the round barrel may suit bulky body types better, and recommends PVC rather than stainless within 50 miles of the coast.
Prefer a lower entry price in the same round barrel footprint? See the Pacific Cedar Barrel (Plastic Interior) , the same shape and capacity with a PVC interior and the same Tub Only or With Premier Chiller options.
DCT Pacific Cedar Barrel (SS) FAQ
What is the difference between the Cedar Barrel (SS) and the Cedar Oval Barrel?
The Cedar Barrel is a round upright tub with a 304 stainless steel interior, holding 120 to 145 gallons. The Cedar Oval Barrel is elongated, 50″L × 30″W × 35″H, holds 105 to 125 gallons and uses a PVC liner, with a bench 27 inches wide against this barrel’s 38. Neither tub includes filtration: the tub manual says the optional chiller carries the particle filter and ozonator. The oval’s rim is about 4.5 inches lower.
Which chiller suits this barrel?
Dynamic Cold Therapy publishes no maximum tub size and says every DCT chiller works with every DCT cold plunge. The difference is speed: by the Premier manual the 1.0 HP gives 3,100 W of cooling against the 0.8 HP’s 2,000 W, and its reference rate is 1 to 3°F every 40 minutes against every 60, while the product guide gives every 20 and every 40 for the same units. For 120 to 145 gallons, or for warm climates and outdoor installs, the 1.0 HP is the faster choice. Select the With 1.0 HP Premier Chiller option above to order the tub and chiller together as one system, or call us to confirm the right chiller for your setup: (888) 500‑5675.
Can I order the Pacific Cedar Barrel (304 Stainless Steel) with a chiller included?
Yes. Select a With Premier Chiller configuration above and your order ships as a complete system: the barrel plus the Premier Edition chiller in your choice of 0.8 HP (2,000 W of cooling) or 1.0 HP (3,100 W). The Premier needs a dedicated 120 V, 15 A circuit with a GFCI outlet, connects through the barrel’s 3/4 inch fittings with the supplied hoses and adapters, and is controlled from its digital LED panel or a WiFi app. Tub Only orders remain chiller-ready, so you can add a chiller later instead.
How is the water kept clean, and what maintenance does it need?
The filtration and the ozone come with the chiller, not the tub. With a chiller, its manual asks for a new 20 micron cartridge about every 20 plunges or as needed, a check of the strainer whenever you change the filter, ozone set to run 2 to 5 minutes, and treated water at pH 7.2 to 7.8 with alkalinity 125 to 150 ppm; it excludes damage from untreated water from the warranty. Without a chiller, the tub manual says to cover the tub and replace the water every 3 to 5 days. The manufacturer recommends changing the water at least weekly with a chiller.
Can I use this barrel outdoors year-round?
Within limits, and the manuals set them. The tub manual says not to store or use the tub below 32°F, and excludes freeze damage. The Premier chiller manual says it must be started in air at 33.8°F or above, and that below that it must keep running non stop to avoid freezing, with damage outside the working range voiding the warranty. The manual also asks you to shade or cover the tub rather than leave it in long periods of direct sun. Questions about your climate? Call (888) 500‑5675.
Does the barrel require assembly when delivered?
The tub manual has no assembly steps. It arrives crated on a pallet by LTL freight, delivered curbside, and at 220 pounds empty it takes two or three people to move. Once positioned, set the step, fill it, and connect the hoses hand tight if you are pairing a chiller. Plan the spot before delivery: filled, it is about 1,220 to 1,430 pounds before a person gets in.
Is the warranty valid when purchased from Recovery Room Direct?
Yes. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized Dynamic Cold Therapy dealer. Every barrel we sell is new, sourced directly from DCT, and carries the 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty runs from the original purchase date and is non-transferable. For warranty service, contact our team and we’ll coordinate directly with DCT on your behalf: (888) 500‑5675, Mon to Sat, 9am to 6pm ET.
