Shipping & Delivery

Your LeisureCraft sauna, plunge tub, hot tub or outdoor shower is handcrafted to order in Melancthon, Ontario and ships by insured LTL freight. Freight and all cross-border charges are included in the price — no separate shipping cost, no customs bill at the door.

Build time, not ship time. Every unit is made to order, so each product page shows an estimated build date rather than a delivery date. Transit is additional, and build dates move with production volume — peak season runs February through May. We confirm your date in writing once your order is placed.

What the carrier does. The freight company calls to schedule an appointment and delivers to the end of your driveway or the curb, usually on an 18-wheel truck. The driver will not unload your crate and will not back into your driveway. Check that a truck that size can reach your property before you order.

CRITICAL — you are responsible for unloading. Crates run 6 to 14 feet long and 800 to 1,600 pounds depending on the model, with the largest builds heavier still. If your crate is 84 inches or shorter, the carrier may have a liftgate to help lower it. Longer than that there is no liftgate, which covers most of the barrel and cabin range. You will need a forklift with extensions (crates lift from the end), a trailer to collect from the terminal, or a crew on hand. We can arrange a tilt-tow truck for $1,250 if you would rather not. Plan this before you order and we will work it out with you.

Inspect before you sign. If the crate arrives damaged, accept it, photograph everything before moving it, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading. Then call us within 72 hours. A clean signature releases the carrier and makes a claim nearly impossible to win.

Good to know. Changing your shipping address after the unit leaves the factory costs $350 — free before it ships, so tell us early. If a delivery appointment stalls because calls go unreturned, the terminal charges $35 per day in storage. Both are manufacturer charges passed through at cost. Heaters and accessories ship separately and usually arrive sooner.

Questions before you order? Call or text (888) 500-5675, Mon–Sat 9am–6pm EST. We coordinate every delivery ourselves.

Included freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery in the contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada require a quote before ordering. Build and transit times are estimates, not guarantees. Applies to the LeisureCraft Canadian Timber Collection. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →

Warranty

All products designed and manufactured by Dundalk LeisureCraft — including the Canadian Timber Collection — are covered against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for 5 years from the day you receive the product.

What's covered. Replacement of defective parts. Service, labor and installation costs are expressly excluded by the manufacturer, and a replacement part does not extend the original 5-year period.

What's not. Normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, natural weather conditions, and failure to follow the installation and care instructions.

Heaters, stoves and chillers. These sit on LeisureCraft's separate component schedule, and LeisureCraft honors the component manufacturer's terms directly — same coverage, same duration. Electric heaters carry 3 years (elements and rocks excluded; HUUM also excludes sensors). Wood-burning stoves run 2 years to 5 years, with LeisureCraft's own Timberglow at 5, excluding the glass door, ash grate and rocks; LeisureCraft chimney kits carry 5 years with no exclusions. Chillers carry 1 to 2 years. Component coverage is parts only. We confirm the exact term for your configuration in writing before you order.

Use a licensed electrician. All electrical connections on heaters and chillers must be made by a licensed electrician, or LeisureCraft voids the component warranty. Improper installation is excluded from the 5-year sauna warranty as well.

If you've seen a 3-year figure. Some older listings and in-box manuals still show 3 years for the Canadian Timber Collection. LeisureCraft's current published policy is 5 years, and that's the coverage we confirm in writing with every order.

Residential use, and registration. The 5-year term is written for normal residential use; LeisureCraft publishes no commercial warranty. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, hotel or rental? Call us first and we'll get the factory's position in writing. We send the manufacturer's registration link with your order confirmation — registering keeps future claims straightforward.

How to make a claim. Contact us — as your authorized dealer we handle the claim with the manufacturer for you. Email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and photos of the issue.

Return Policy

LeisureCraft Canadian Timber products are handcrafted for your specific order in Melancthon, Ontario. Because each unit is built to order, the manufacturer does not accept returns or exchanges — so please call us before you buy if anything is unclear. We would far rather answer questions first than have you end up with the wrong sauna.

Cancellations. Production is scheduled as soon as your order is placed. Contact us as early as you can at (888) 500-5675 — if your build hasn't started we'll do everything we can to cancel at no cost. If it has, we'll tell you plainly where you stand.

Damaged on arrival? You're covered. Transit damage is handled by replacement, not return. Accept the shipment, photograph the damage before moving anything, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading before signing. Call us within 72 hours and the manufacturer ships replacement wood or components at no charge. Damage reported after a clean signature is very difficult to claim — this step is what protects you.

Five-year residential warranty. Products manufactured by LeisureCraft carry a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for five years from the day you receive them. Valid claims are resolved with replacement parts at no charge.

What it doesn't cover. The warranty is parts only — service, labour and installation are expressly excluded, and a replaced part doesn't restart the five years. It excludes normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, weather damage, and failure to follow the care instructions. Cedar is a natural material: seasonal movement and colour change to silver-grey are normal and are not defects.

Two exceptions worth knowing. The warranty is written for residential use — if you're buying for a gym, clinic, spa or rental property, call us first so we can confirm your coverage in writing. And sauna heaters are not LeisureCraft-made: Harvia, HUUM and Narvi units carry their own manufacturer warranties, and we'll point you to the right terms.

Warranty begins on the date the product is received by the original end-user. Register your warranty with the manufacturer to keep future claims straightforward — we'll send the link with your order confirmation. We're here Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm EST. View our full Return Policy →

Canadian Timber Collection

The CT Granby is the smallest footprint in the Canadian Timber outdoor range, and it puts full standing height on a 5 by 5 pad

Every other outdoor sauna LeisureCraft builds gets bigger to give you more. The Granby goes the other way: a gable-roofed cedar outdoor cabin sauna 74.25 inches wide, 73.25 deep and 97.5 tall to the ridge, with a 60 by 60 inch room holding 141 cubic feet, three seats, and 84.25 inches under the ridge. You walk in and stand up straight.

It is electric only, the roof is in the crate, there is no porch or changeroom to add, and it is the one cabin whose crate is short enough for a liftgate. For a fire, a fourth seat or a bigger room, one of the two larger cabins is the answer. For a real outdoor traditional sauna in the space a garden shed would take, this is it.

LeisureCraft's own two-minute walkthrough, outside and in.

Where the Granby earns its place as a 3 person outdoor cabin sauna, and what it is not

The Granby is a traditional sauna: heater, stones and a room you bring up to temperature, not an infrared cabin. Still deciding between the two? Our infrared versus traditional sauna comparison is the place to start.

Outdoor saunas grow. The shortest barrel sauna we carry is already 79 inches deep, and the Palmer and Georgian share one 98.25 by 97.25 inch footprint, an 8 by 8 pad before you leave room to work around it. Plenty of yards have that. Side returns and townhouse patios often do not.

The Granby is for the second group. Including its eaves it is 74.25 inches wide by 73.25 deep; the log body is 62.75 across, and the corners and roof overhang make up the rest. Inside that footprint, just over 6 feet by 6, is a full 60 by 60 inch room with a two-tier bench across the back wall and height for a tall adult to stand in the middle, heated by the same 6 kW heaters LeisureCraft recommends for the Palmer.

What it is not: not a sauna for four, never woodsmoke, and at 60 inches wall to wall nobody is lying down in it. If any of those is what you want, the CT Palmer takes a stove and seats four, and the CT Georgian seats six and takes a porch or changeroom. Going indoors? The CT Element Nook is the small room built for that.

  • Smallest footprint in the CT outdoor range: 74.25 by 73.25 inches at the eaves
  • A 60 by 60 inch room, 141 cubic feet, three seats per LeisureCraft
  • 84.25 inches under the ridge; metal shingle roof included
  • Electric heat only; no chimney, porch or changeroom
  • The only crate in the cabin family that fits a liftgate

Front on. The door is the only glazing; there is no front window on the Granby.

The CT Granby outdoor cabin sauna: 84.25 inches of standing height on a 5 by 5 pad, and electric only

The number that matters is 84.25 inches, and it is worth being precise about where it lives. LeisureCraft's drawing puts it under the ridge, which runs from the door to the back wall down the middle of the room; the ceiling follows the roof pitch to 68 inches at the side walls. So the tallest part of the room is where you walk in and stand, and the lowest is along the side walls, where nobody stands. The door opening is 22.75 inches wide, set in the gable wall; LeisureCraft's drawing gives the side walls at 68 inches inside and does not publish the door height, so expect to duck through and straighten up under the ridge.

The bench is two tiers across the back wall, the lower 19.25 inches off the floor and the upper 37.25. LeisureCraft publishes no bench length; at 60 inches wall to wall it need not.

The Granby is also electric only. LeisureCraft's specification table, spec sheet and configurator all say so and give no reason. What it means for you: no chimney through the roof, and one real decision, the heater. If a fire is part of what you are buying, the Palmer and Georgian both take a wood stove.

The roof is not an option either. Every barrel in the range sells its roof kit separately; the Granby's metal shingle roof is in the crate, and that gable takes a 73.5 inch wall to a 97.5 inch ridge.

The ridge runs door to back wall, so the tallest part of the room is where you stand.

Eastern White Cedar, and what you are paying for in a Canadian Timber sauna

The Granby is built from Eastern White Cedar, the wood that gives the Canadian Timber collection its name and its price. It is lighter in color than Western Red Cedar, tighter in the grain, and much milder in scent, which matters more in a 141 cubic foot room than a big one. It carries the same natural resistance to moisture, rot and insects, and is milled in Ontario in the factory that builds every LeisureCraft sauna.

Solid single-stave walls

Each stave runs the full length of the wall in Grade A solid cedar, no finger joints, with a ball-and-socket profile that taps tight into the stave below and locks at the notched corners. LeisureCraft calls the cabin corner joinery dovetail; it lets two people build the walls without cutting a stave.

Steel shingle roof, included

Cedar roof boards under 28 gauge metal shingles made in Ontario, metal edge trim, a sealed ridge cap. The part most outdoor saunas at this price leave to an optional kit, and the part that decides how the cabin ages over ten winters.

Bronze tempered glass door

The door carries 5 mm bronze tempered single-pane glass, and on the Granby it is the only glazing: no front window. Tempered for safety at heat, bronze to cut glare, single pane rather than a sealed unit.

Sourced from certified sustainable mills in British Columbia and Ontario, and covered by LeisureCraft's 5 year residential limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers replacement parts; service, labor and installation are excluded by the manufacturer.

Heating the CT Granby: electric sauna heater sizing for 141 cubic feet

The Granby is electric only, and LeisureCraft's own configurator recommends a 6 kW heater. That may look generous for the smallest room in the cabin family; the reason it is not is the word outdoor. A cedar cabin in a January yard is no insulated basement.

Choose the heater at the top of this page and it is added to your order as its own line, at LeisureCraft's list price with no markup. Three are offered:

  • Harvia KIP, the simplest of the three, controls on the heater itself, no Wi-Fi
  • HUUM Drop, wall mounted, 120 lb of stone, nearly three times the KIP; it runs from its own HUUM UKU control unit, local or Wi-Fi, which you choose with the heater at the top of this page
  • Homecraft Revive, a Canadian-made stainless tower that stands on the floor; its Homecraft control, local or Wi-Fi, is chosen with the heater at the top of this page

You can also select Without a heater, a legitimate choice if you already own one or your electrician has specified something else. In a 60 by 60 inch room a wall-mounted heater and a floor tower cost different amounts of floor, so choose with the floor in mind. We confirm output and electrical on the order call.

Why we still ask you to call

The heater and its control are priced at the top of this page, so nothing waits on a quote. The call is where we check what you have chosen against your site: climate, how exposed the Granby will be, how fast you want to be at temperature, and the breaker. LeisureCraft accepts no returns, so five minutes on (888) 500-5675 before you choose is the cheapest insurance on the page.

All electrical connections must be made by a licensed electrician, and LeisureCraft's warranty is void if they are not. LeisureCraft specifies 240 V and 30 to 50 amps depending on the heater; 6 kW typically needs a dedicated 40 amp breaker. Plan the electrical before the crate arrives, not after.

What a week with the Granby actually looks like

The sessions, and who is in them

This is the least air in the cabin family on a 6 kW heater, so it comes up to temperature faster from cold than the bigger cabins, and a weeknight session on impulse is realistic. It still takes longer in January than June, and a Wi-Fi control, which lets you start it from inside the house, changes that arithmetic more than any other option here.

Three seats. Most nights it will be one or two, and that is where the two tiers earn their keep: heat stratifies, so the upper bench at 37.25 inches is the hot seat, the lower at 19.25 the milder one, and two people who like different temperatures each get one.

Sauna and cold water

A good number of owners pair a sauna this size with a plunge, and a 6 by 6 footprint leaves more of the yard for the tub than an 8 by 8 does. If that is where you are heading, our contrast therapy protocol sets out the timings people actually use, and the cold plunges we carry sit beside a sauna this size.

Winter

The steel roof does its job without your attention. The single-pane door you will notice: 5 mm bronze tempered glass, not a sealed unit, so in a hard winter it behaves like single glazing. LeisureCraft's manual is also candid that minor water seepage at the top and sides is normal for a sauna built from solid staves; it evaporates when the heater runs, does the wood no harm, and any marks come off with a light sanding.

Three people who choose the Granby over a bigger cabin

The one with a strip, not a yard

Measure the space. If a level pad of about 6 feet 2 inches by 6 feet 1 inch fits, with room to move around all four walls while you build, the Granby fits and the 8 by 8 cabins do not. That is the whole decision for a side return, townhouse patio or garage-to-fence gap.

The one who has to get it off the truck

The crate is 72 by 45 by 44 inches and 1,230 lb. At 72 inches it is the only crate in this family under the 84 inch limit LeisureCraft sets for a liftgate; the other two are 96. No forklift and no crew? This is the cabin you can take delivery of.

The one buying it for one or two

If the sauna is a habit for one person, or two who use it together, 141 cubic feet on 6 kW is the least air to heat in the cabin family. If four will use it together most weeks, the Palmer is the honest answer.

The section: ridge height, wall height, both bench heights.

Interior height is the honest column. The Granby's 84.25 inches is under the ridge that runs door to back wall, falling to 68 inches at the side walls, where nobody stands. Against the Palmer and Georgian it gives up 2 inches of ridge height and a lot of width, not the ability to stand.

Read volume against footprint rather than seats. The Palmer holds 263 cubic feet to the Granby's 141 and seats one more, on about three quarters more ground; the Georgian's 343 is the biggest room in the Canadian Timber range, on the same 8 by 8 pad. With the pad and the people, either is a better buy per seat. With the people and not the pad, the Granby is the only one that goes in at all.

The Nook column is there because many Granby buyers start out looking at an indoor sauna: 93 cubic feet for one or two on 4.5 kW, never seeing weather, against 141 for three on 6 kW in the yard. See the rest of our outdoor sauna range and the wider traditional sauna selection if neither fits.

What the CT Granby costs to use, once it is in the yard

Five years is the length of the residential warranty, so that is the denominator. What we can give you is the denominator, and five years is the length of the residential warranty.

0memberships, bookings or drive time
Powerthe only cost that recurs

Divide your delivered price by 780, or by 2,340 if all three seats are taken, and you have your real cost per session. We would rather hand you the arithmetic than publish a made-up average. Electric only means the recurring cost is a power bill rather than a wood supply, the one number your own utility rate settles better than we can.

What you are not paying for separately

  • The roof. A priced option on every barrel; in the crate on the Granby
  • Freight to the contiguous 48 states and all cross-border duties
  • Cedar cut and notched: no carpentry on site
  • The two-tier bench, its brackets and hardware
  • The bronze tempered glass door
  • A poured foundation, provided the ground stays level
  • Assembly labor, if you and one other build it

What is in the CT Granby cabin sauna crate

The Granby ships as one crate, flat packed, ready to assemble. LeisureCraft publishes it at 72 by 45 by 44 inches (183 by 114 by 112 cm) and 1,230 lb (558 kg); packaged weight varies with the heater and options. It is the shortest and lightest crate in the cabin family by two feet and nearly 550 lb.

Building the CT Granby Cabin

LeisureCraft writes and publishes the assembly manual for this model, worth reading before you order rather than after. Their stated requirement is two people, and the tools listed are a rubber mallet, a carpenter's level, a tape measure, a hammer, a cordless drill with Phillips and Robertson bits, a 2 inch hole saw, a quarter inch nut driver bit, a step ladder, a utility knife, and a grinder to cut the last roof shingle in each row. At 20 pages it is the shortest manual in the cabin family, a fair reflection of how much less there is to build. Its first line is to watch LeisureCraft's assembly video before you start; we would say the same.

CT Granby sauna delivery, and what to have ready

Freight included

Freight and all cross-border charges are in the price, curbside to the contiguous 48 states. The crate is 72 by 45 by 44 inches and about 1,230 lb. At 72 inches it is inside the 84 inch limit LeisureCraft sets for a liftgate, which the 96 inch Palmer and Georgian crates are not, so this is the one cabin where a liftgate is a real option: ask us when you order. Either way, 1,230 lb is not a two person lift.

Built to order

Nothing is stocked. Your Granby joins the production queue in Melancthon once you order, and we confirm the build and ship window in writing as soon as the factory schedules it. If that date does not work, say so straight away: nothing is cut in the first days, the window where a change costs nothing.

What it sits on

No slab to pour, but the Granby has a flat cedar floor and a square footprint, so the base has to be flat and stay flat. LeisureCraft names a concrete pad, wood deck, patio stone or crushed stone, level with a slight fall to the back for drainage, and suggests making it larger than the cabin for somewhere to sit and cool off. Ground that settles racks the walls and pulls the door out of square, and improper installation is excluded from the warranty. Call us before you dig or pour.

Inspect before you sign

Photograph any damage and write it on the Bill of Lading before you sign, then call us within 72 hours; a clean signature makes a freight claim very hard to win. The crate is set down at the curb, not carried inside or assembled, so have help and a route sorted for the day.

Before the truck comes

  • A level, load-bearing base: concrete pad, pavers, crushed stone or a properly built deck
  • Room to work around all four walls, and a step ladder
  • Your electrician booked, heater output decided
  • Help on delivery day, or ask us about a liftgate
  • Somewhere dry to stage the parts if not building straight away

A few situations add cost: a tilt-tow truck, an address change after the crate ships, terminal storage if a delivery appointment stalls. All are avoidable and listed on our LeisureCraft shipping policy. Because each sauna is cut for your order, LeisureCraft accepts no returns or exchanges at any point; read our return policy before ordering, and call us with any doubt.

Care once it is up

The cedar moves as it takes on and gives off moisture. Check the fasteners in the first month and periodically after; keep the vents clear. Wash the floor and benches with warm soapy water a few times a year; never use ammonia or harsh cleaners. Left alone the exterior weathers to silver-gray without harm; to keep the color, LeisureCraft stocks Livos stains for the outside. The interior stays bare, and the steel roof needs nothing beyond keeping debris off it.

Before you start. Heat loads the cardiovascular system. If you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, a seizure disorder or diabetes, have a pacemaker or another implanted cardiac or electronic device, are recovering from surgery, have Raynaud’s syndrome, or take medication affecting blood pressure, thermoregulation or alertness, speak to your doctor first. This is not an exhaustive list: if you have any health condition, ask your doctor before you start. Never use a sauna after drinking alcohol, and children should not use one unsupervised.

The questions buyers actually ask about the Granby

Can I put a wood stove in it?

No. LeisureCraft's spec table lists wood as not available, its spec sheet says "Electric Heater Only", and its configurator has no wood tile and no chimney step. It gives no reason and we will not guess. For a fire, the CT Palmer and CT Georgian take a wood stove.

Can I really stand up in a 5 by 5 sauna?

Yes, in the middle. LeisureCraft's drawing shows 84.25 inches under the ridge, which runs door to back wall, and 68 inches at the side walls; the door itself is lower, so you duck through and straighten up in the middle. Well over six feet? Tell us on the order call.

Is three people realistic in 141 cubic feet?

Three is LeisureCraft's own figure, on a two-tier bench across a 60 inch back wall: companionable rather than roomy, and most owners will run it as a one or two person sauna. For three or four every week, the CT Palmer gives 263 cubic feet and an 84 inch bench wall.

What size heater should I order, and can I order it without one?

LeisureCraft's configurator recommends 6 kW, and that is where we start; site exposure and how fast you want to be at temperature decide the rest. You can also choose Without a heater at the top of this page if you own a suitable one; we confirm on the order call.

Is there a window, or a porch or changeroom option?

No to all three. The only glazing is the door, 5 mm bronze tempered single-pane glass in a 22.75 inch wide opening, and LeisureCraft offers the porch and changeroom on the Georgian only. The Palmer and Georgian both carry two front windows; for a changing space, see the Georgian.

Will it fit through my side gate, and how big a pad do I need?

The crate is set down at the curb, so what matters is carrying the parts to the site by hand. Built, the cabin is 74.25 inches wide by 73.25 deep at the eaves and 97.5 to the ridge. Plan a level pad of at least 6 feet 2 inches by 6 feet 1 inch, ideally larger for somewhere to sit, plus room to work around every wall.

What does the warranty actually cover?

LeisureCraft's 5 year residential limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship with replacement parts. Service, labor and installation are excluded, as are normal wear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance and weather damage. Heaters carry their own manufacturer terms, on each heater page. Full terms are on our LeisureCraft warranty policy page.

Can I pay for this over time?

Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout, and APPROVE offers financing on larger orders including business buyers. Terms, length and whether interest applies depend on the amount financed and approval, so the exact offer is the one presented to you.

What happens if I change my mind after ordering?

Every Granby is built to your order, so LeisureCraft accepts no returns or exchanges at any point, and we would rather you knew that before ordering. If your build has not started we will do everything we can to cancel at no cost, so call the moment anything changes. Our LeisureCraft return policy sets out where you stand.

How long from order to delivery?

It depends on the production queue rather than on us, and that queue moves. We quote your build and ship window on the phone rather than publish a number that ages, and confirm it in writing once the factory schedules it.

Is a traditional sauna safe for me?

For most healthy adults, used sensibly, yes, but heat genuinely loads the cardiovascular system, so this is a question for your doctor rather than for us. Speak to them first if you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, a seizure disorder or diabetes, have a pacemaker or another implanted cardiac or electronic device, are recovering from surgery, have Raynaud’s syndrome, or take medication affecting blood pressure, thermoregulation or alertness. That list is not exhaustive. Never use a sauna after drinking alcohol, and children should not use one unsupervised.

Is the five year warranty valid in a gym, spa or rental?

The five year term is LeisureCraft's residential warranty. For a gym, spa, short-term rental or any commercial setting, call us before you order: commercial coverage is not the same thing and we will confirm the terms in writing rather than let you find out at claim time. APPROVE financing is available to business buyers.

Is Recovery Room Direct an authorized LeisureCraft dealer?

Yes. We buy directly from the manufacturer in Melancthon, Ontario, your Granby is built against your order, and we send the warranty registration with your confirmation. When something needs sorting out, we deal with the factory for you. Everything we carry from them is in the Dundalk LeisureCraft collection.

Not sure whether the Granby outdoor cabin sauna is big enough, or whether it fits?

It usually comes down to two measurements: the pad you actually have, and how many people will use it together on a normal week. Give us those two and we will tell you whether this is the cabin, or whether the Palmer or Georgian is. If the answer is a fire, start with those two.
