How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Burlington is a 2 person outdoor infrared sauna that runs from a 120 V plug

The Burlington, SunRay model 200D3, puts two people on a rear bench inside a hemlock cabin 47 inches wide and 45 deep, under a pitched metal roof. Far-infrared heaters warm the room to about 140 F, and the whole cabin plugs into an ordinary 120 V receptacle, provided that receptacle sits on a circuit of its own. Of SunRay's outdoor infrared models it has the smallest footprint and the lightest freight, so it suits a patio corner or a small deck where a 240 V line would be the expensive part of the project.

Who it fits

Two adults

One rear bench across a 43 by 41 inch interior, with 68 inches of headroom. Two seats side by side, facing the front wall.

The heat

About 140 F

Dry infrared warmth from heaters built into the panels. SunRay's manual allows roughly 8 to 15 minutes of warm-up before you step in.

The power

120 V plug-in

No 240 V line to run across the yard. What it does need is a dedicated 20 A outlet with nothing else plugged into it.

Size and seating

SunRay Burlington dimensions: a compact backyard infrared sauna for two

Two footprints matter here. The cabin itself is 47 by 45 inches, and the metal roof overhangs it to cover 67 by 59 inches. Plan the base and the clear space around it to the roof.

Reading the numbers for a real yard

The 87 inch height is to the top of the pitched roof, so check it against eaves, a pergola beam or low branches before you settle on a spot. At 67 inches across the roof, it fits along a fence line or into a deck corner.

Inside, the 68 inch ceiling is set for sitting rather than standing. The bench runs across the back wall, so two adults sit shoulder to shoulder facing the front wall.

The heat

How the SunRay Burlington warms two people with far-infrared heaters

There is no stove in this cabin, no basket of stones and no ladle. Far-infrared heaters in the walls warm the people on the bench, and the room around them climbs to about 140 F.

The heaters arrive already mounted in the panels. During assembly you connect their power plugs as the bench goes in, and from then on everything runs from the control panel. SunRay's D3 manual suggests setting the temperature somewhere between 120 and 140 F and allowing about 8 to 15 minutes before the first person sits down. Once the room reaches your setting, the heaters switch off and on by themselves to hold it there.

Infrared runs at lower air temperatures than a traditional Finnish sauna. If you are still deciding between the two kinds of heat, our guide to infrared vs traditional sauna sets them side by side.

What the control panel does

The manual lists buttons for power, the session timer and the temperature, which switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Further buttons run the color-changing LED light through seven colors, turn the interior light on and off, and handle music. Pair a phone by searching for "audio" in its Bluetooth list, or plug in a USB stick and play from that.

Construction

What the SunRay Burlington outdoor sauna is made of

Hemlock walls, a screwed and sealed metal roof, and an exterior finish that needs renewing once a year.

Hemlock, and what that means outdoors

The cabin is hemlock inside and out. The exterior leaves the factory sealed, and SunRay's manual asks you to reseal it every year, or sooner if it starts to look dry, so the wood keeps shedding rain. That yearly coat is also written into the warranty for an outdoor sauna kept without a weather cover, so it belongs on the yearly maintenance list.

The roof

The roof is metal, screwed down over the interior ceiling in two panels. The manual has you run a bead of sealant between those panels before and after they are fastened, and again along the inside edges of the roof cover. A ceiling vent lets you bleed off heat during a session.

Inside the cabin

A backrest on the rear wall, cup holders, a reading light and the color-changing LED light in the ceiling, plus the Bluetooth speaker system.

Before you order

Six things to settle before a SunRay Burlington arrives

Each takes minutes now, and far longer once 522 pounds of freight is at the curb.

  • A level, solid baseSunRay's manual names a wooden deck, a concrete pad or pavers. On pavers or anywhere the ground stays damp, lay a moisture barrier between the sauna floor and the surface
  • Space for the roof67 by 59 inches of overhang and 87 inches of height, clear of eaves, gutters and branches
  • A dedicated outlet within reach120 V, on a dedicated 20 A outlet with no other appliance sharing it, positioned where the cabin's cord reaches without an extension
  • A way from the curb to the basePanels come off the truck at the curb, so check gates, side paths and steps between there and the spot
  • Two adults and a tube of sealantThe manual asks for at least two people, and calls for sealant at several steps, so have a tube and a caulking gun ready
  • A call to your townAsk your building department, and your HOA if you have one, whether a backyard cabin needs a permit and how far it must sit from the property line

The electrical side, in plain terms

SunRay's manual connects the Burlington to "a dedicated power outlet" and tells you not to plug any other appliance into it. At 1,900 watts on 120 V the cabin uses nearly all of what a dedicated 20 A outlet is meant to carry for long periods. That is why nothing else can share it.

Have a licensed electrician check or install the outlet. An outdoor receptacle has its own requirements under the National Electrical Code and your local code, and only someone looking at your panel can confirm the circuit is free. Give them the Burlington's figures: 1,900 W, 120 V, a dedicated 20 A outlet.

Running cost

What a session in the SunRay Burlington costs in electricity

Worked from SunRay's 1,900 watts and 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the US residential average in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly for June 2026. Swap in the rate on your own bill.

One session

26 cents

15 minutes of warm-up plus a 30 minute session, the longest SunRay's manual recommends. That is 45 minutes at 1.9 kilowatts, or 1.43 kilowatt hours.

A month

$3.14

Twelve of those sessions, about three a week. 17.1 kilowatt hours.

A year

$37.63

The same twelve a month for twelve months, 205.2 kilowatt hours in all.

These assume full power throughout. Once the cabin reaches your setting the heaters cycle, so the real figure lands lower. Two people cost no more than one.

What you get

Inside the SunRay Burlington delivery, and what you supply

The cabin comes as panels with the heaters already fitted. The base and the outlet are yours. SunRay does not say whether sealant is in the box, so have a tube and a caulking gun ready.

  • A level baseDeck, concrete pad or pavers, with a moisture barrier where the ground is damp

Assembly

SunRay Burlington assembly, step by step

Walls that latch, a roof that screws down, and sealant at every joint facing the weather.

SunRay's manual asks for at least two adults. The order runs floor first, set on the level base. Before each wall goes down, a line of sealant goes along its bottom edge. The back wall stands first, then the left and right walls latch to the floor, then the front wall latches to the sides. The vertical bench panel goes in next, and this is where you plug the heaters together before the bench top is screwed on.

With the backrest, door handle and other interior fittings screwed in place, the interior ceiling goes up. Its accessory leads for the color light and reading light feed out through the top to meet their partners in the roof. The two metal roof panels are then screwed down with sealant between them, the cover is sealed along its inside edges and fixed, and a final pass of sealant goes over the outside joints the manual marks.

Plan a dry day, so the sealant can set before it rains.

Delivery day

Receiving your SunRay Burlington outdoor infrared sauna

The Burlington ships free by freight to the curb in the lower 48, on a truck with a lift gate. The buy box shows the delivery estimate in business days, and the carrier calls ahead to book a window.

Before the truck

Someone has to be home to sign. Line up your second pair of hands for the same day; the shipment weighs about 522 pounds in total.

At the curb

Look over every carton and the pallet before signing. Photograph any crushed corner, tear or wet patch, and write it on the delivery receipt.

Before you build

Unpack on a dry surface and check each panel face and the roof sheets while the packaging is still around them.

Damage spotted at the curb goes on the receipt before the driver leaves. Then call us at (888) 500-5675 while the truck is still there, so we can decide together whether to accept or refuse it. The full terms are in the SunRay shipping policy.

Returns. The window is 20 days from the date it ships, with the cabin unassembled and in its original crate. A change-of-mind return means you pay the return freight and a 20% restocking fee may apply, and the original shipping is never deducted. Full steps: the SunRay return policy.

Stay with the Burlington if two seats are enough and a 120 V outlet is what you can offer. The Grandby adds a third seat and still runs on 120 V. Every model after that needs a 240 V circuit. The Logan seats the same two people as the Burlington in a squarer modern cabin with five more inches of headroom inside.

Warranty

SunRay Burlington warranty: ten years on the structure

One SunRay certificate covers the Burlington, with two terms depending on the part.

From the SunRay Saunas Warranty Certificate
Structure, 10 years Wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the date of purchase. Covers the parts needed for the repair
Parts and electronics, 1 year The infrared heaters and all electrical components. Parts replacement only; labor is not covered
Use Residential only. Commercial use voids it
Outdoor condition Without a weather cover, the exterior must be resealed every year
Owner Original buyer at the original delivery address; not transferable

Small surface cracks in the wood are not defects. Claims start with us rather than with SunRay: send the order number and photographs and we take it from there. The SunRay warranty policy has the full wording, and we will send the certificate itself on request.

Buyer questions

SunRay Burlington 2 person outdoor infrared sauna questions

What are the dimensions of the SunRay Burlington?

The cabin is 47 inches wide and 45 deep, and 87 inches tall to the roof peak. The metal roof overhangs it to cover 67 by 59 inches, which is the footprint to plan the base around. Inside, the Burlington measures 43 by 41 inches with 68 inches of headroom, on a single rear bench for two adults.

Can the SunRay Burlington plug into a regular outlet?

It plugs into a standard 120 V receptacle, but that receptacle must be on a dedicated 20 A outlet circuit with nothing else connected. At 1,900 watts the Burlington draws close to everything such a circuit should carry for long periods. A licensed electrician should confirm the circuit and its outdoor protection before the sauna arrives.

How hot does the SunRay Burlington get, and how long does it take to heat up?

It heats to about 140 F. SunRay's D3 manual suggests a setting between 120 and 140 F and allows about 8 to 15 minutes of warm-up before a session. Once the room reaches the setting, the heaters cycle on and off to hold it.

Can I pour water on anything in the SunRay Burlington?

No. The Burlington is a dry far-infrared cabin with no heater stones, so there is nothing to make steam with, and SunRay's manual warns that excess water stains or warps the wood. If steam matters to you, look at a traditional sauna with an electric heater and stones instead.

What warranty comes with the SunRay Burlington?

SunRay's certificate gives ten years on the wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, and one year on the heaters and electrical parts, parts only. It is for residential use, stays with the original buyer, and for an outdoor sauna kept without a weather cover it requires the exterior to be resealed every year.

How is the SunRay Burlington delivered?

Free freight to the curb in the lower 48, on a lift gate truck, as flat panels with a shipping weight of 522 pounds. The carrier books a window with you, someone must be there to sign, and any visible damage goes on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.

How many people does it take to assemble the SunRay Burlington?

SunRay's manual asks for at least two adults. The walls latch together on the floor, the roof screws down, and sealant goes along the wall bottoms, the roof seams and the outside joints, so have sealant and a caulking gun on hand.

Should I choose the SunRay Burlington or the SunRay Logan?

Both seat two. The Burlington is the pitched roof cabin that runs on a 120 V dedicated outlet. The Logan is SunRay's modern flat roof design, about 49 inches square with 73 inches of interior height, and it needs a 240 V circuit for its 2,800 watts.
