How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.
Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.
Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.
Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.
When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.
If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.
Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.
AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.
AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.
Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.
Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.
Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.
Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.
Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.
What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.
Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.
Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

In short
Saunum Air 7 electric sauna heater: 7 kW, a built-in fan, rooms up to 318 cubic feet
The Saunum Air 7 is a 240 volt, 7 kW floor-standing heater for sauna rooms of 177 to 318 cubic feet, with a fan low in the heater that draws the hot ceiling air down a telescopic flue and blows it out under the benches.
It is the larger of the two Air heaters and shares the Air 5's body, so a bigger room gets more output without a deeper heater. Choose its stone basket, closed in black steel or open in stainless steel, at the same price. The Saunum AirIQ control, which the Air 7 needs to run, joins the order as a required row in the buy box, together with its stones. One purchase brings a stone heater and Saunum's climate fan in the same housing, plus seven Himalayan salt spheres; to pay over time, use sauna heater financing. Our Saunum sauna heaters collection holds every model.

Sizing
Sizing a room for the Saunum Air 7
Saunum's Air 7 rating is 177 to 318 cubic feet (5 to 9 cubic meters), under a ceiling no lower than 73 inches.
Effective volume, the way Saunum counts it
Saunum's Air installation manual, dated December 2025, starts from the room's cubic feet: length times width times height. Rooms built of solid log, plank or stave with no inner insulation are multiplied by 1.5. Masonry, tile and glass then add 3.0 cubic feet per square foot, since Saunum counts them as cold surfaces. Doors are not left out; the manual's example adds a glass door to the total. The same sums apply whether you build the room or buy one of our traditional saunas.
| 6 ft x 6 ft x 7 ft cabin | 252 cu ft |
|---|---|
| Plus a 15 sq ft glass door | 45 cu ft, total 297: inside the Air 7's range |
| Same cabin, glass door and a 24 sq ft window | 72 cu ft more, total 369: past the Air 7, an Air L 10 room |
Between sizes, up or down
The manual's instruction for a volume between two heater sizes is to choose the larger. Below the Air 7 sits the Saunum Air 5 at 106 to 212 cubic feet; the two overlap from 177 to 212, and that band goes to the Air 7 under the larger-heater rule. Above it, the Saunum Air L 10 picks up at 283 cubic feet. Saunum also cautions that excess power heats the air fast and leaves the stones short of the heat good steam needs, so do not size up for its own sake. Check your figure with our sauna heater finder, and our sauna heater buying guide explains the rest.
The fan
Inside the Saunum Air 7: the flue, the fan and the cool air valve
Below the stones of the Air 7 sits a fan, wired to the AirIQ control, at the foot of a flue that rises to the ceiling.

Ceiling to floor
A cap at the head of the flue rests against the ceiling, where a sauna's warmest air collects. With the fan running, that air travels down the flue and leaves through an outlet low on the heater, below bench height. On the left of the Air 7 is a cool air intake valve that blends in air from the lower room. It leaves the factory about one third open; widen it for cooler steam, narrow it for warmer.
Speed and timing
The AirIQ control offers three fan speeds. Saunum's instructions keep the fan off through the initial heat-up and have you switch it on just before you step in, never running it with nobody in the room, although the AirIQ may start it by itself to guard against overheating. A thermal guard stops the fan when the air at the base of the heater passes 176 °F, and it starts again as that air cools.
Saunum's description, and what it is not
According to Saunum, the system carries heat down toward the bench and floor and distributes steam across the room where it would otherwise hang near the ceiling. That is the manufacturer's own account. Bathers who like a classic layered heat stay in charge of it: the owner picks the speed, and the manual's advice is to begin testing from the lowest airflow rate and lowest temperature.
Basket and stones
Choosing the Saunum Air 7 basket: open stainless or closed black
There is no price difference. What changes is the stone load and the space the heater needs beside and in front of it.

| Closed black steel | Holds about 110 lb; sides and front 2 in from anything combustible |
|---|---|
| Open stainless steel | Holds about 130 lb; sides and front 6 in from anything combustible |
| Above, either basket | 40 in to the ceiling |
| Fan outlet, either basket | 20 in clear in front |
Which one suits your room
The open basket shows its stones and holds about 20 pounds more, in exchange for 4 more inches of space on each side and at the front. The closed basket tucks in at 2 inches, which suits a corner beside a bench. In both cases only the back of the Air 7 may touch the wall. Saunum limits a niche to 3.9 inches deep and asks for noncombustible material wherever a side distance is shorter than its table.
Loading the stones
The heater ships without stones. Saunum's US distributor calls for four boxes of 33 pounds for the Air 7: rounded olivine diabase, 2 to 4 inches. Added in the buy box, they come free by parcel, apart from the heater's freight and sometimes on a different day. Lay them in by hand, biggest first, keeping them off the elements and level with or below the basket rim. Saunum rules out light ceramic stones and soft tiles, and wants the stack rebuilt every year.
Site checklist
Saunum Air 7 site checklist: circuit, clearances, vents and control
Ten points, drawn from Saunum's Air manual and the product data of its US distributor, to agree with your electrician and builder before the heater arrives.
- Circuit of its own240 V single phase for 6,900 watts and 28.75 amps, hardwired. A licensed electrician chooses breaker and cable by the manual and the National Electrical Code
- Standard breaker, never GFCISaunum's manual rules out ground fault protection on the heater because of nuisance tripping
- AirIQ control on orderThe Air 7 will not run without it. The panel is fixed outside the hot room, away from water
- 73 inch ceiling minimumThe flue extends between 73 and 95 inches, and its cap is meant to sit against the ceiling
- Space around it40 in above the basket, 20 in ahead of the fan outlet, and 2 in or 6 in at sides and front for closed or open
- Outlet below the benchThe outlet's upper edge goes below the bench's underside, with the space in front of it left open
- Sensor placementWall mounted, 2 in under the ceiling, away from the heater's top, 20 in or more from doors, windows and vents
- Vents in and outIntake low beside or under the heater, 12 in or less off the floor; exhaust 24 to 47 in high, far from the heater; six changes an hour
- Junction box heightSplashproof, and 20 in or lower from the floor
- Insulation firstSaunum expects an insulated room before the heater is fitted
Electricity cost
Saunum Air 7 electricity cost per session and per year
Worked from 6,900 watts, or 6.9 kilowatts, at 18.34 cents a kilowatt hour (the EIA Electric Power Monthly's national residential price for June 2026).
Each hour at full draw
$1.27
6.9 kilowatt hours.
Warm-up plus a session
$2.53
Two hours, 13.8 kilowatt hours.
Three evenings weekly, a year
$394.82
52 weeks, 156 evenings, 2,152.8 kilowatt hours.
Each figure assumes the elements never switch off; once the room is up to temperature the thermostat cuts them in and out, so your bill comes in under these.
In the box
Saunum Air 7 package contents and the parts sold alongside it
The carton carries the heater with its cables and both sensors. The control and the stones come as separate items in the same order.

Under 177 cubic feet the Air 5 is the size. From 177 to 283 it is the Air 7, including the stretch to 212 that both are rated for, since Saunum's manual says to take the larger heater when a room falls between sizes. The same rule hands rooms from 283 cubic feet to the Air L 10, even though the Air 7 is rated to 318, so from there look at the Air L range among our electric sauna heaters, which sit within our wider sauna heaters range.
Warranty and certification
Saunum Air 7 warranty terms and certification
Two years in a private sauna, from the purchase date, covering defects in materials and assembly. That is the term printed in the manual that ships with the heater.
| Home sauna | 2 years |
|---|---|
| Commercial sauna | No term in the manual that ships with it |
| Labor costs | Excluded |
| Parts excluded | Heating elements, salt spheres |
| Also excluded | Transport risks, normal wear, modification, misuse, poor installation or ventilation, accidents, lightning, water, fire |
| Conditions | Installation report submitted with the claim; heater connected by a qualified electrician |
Making a claim
The installation report sits at the back of the Air manual; have your electrician complete it, including the check that all three fan speeds work. A claim goes to Saunum's US distributor, Bathing Brands, through its Saunum technical support, and Saunum decides whether to repair or replace. Using a repairer outside Saunum's recommended partners, or stones and salt spheres Saunum does not recommend, falls outside that cover. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a spa, gym or rental; we promise no commercial cover. Read the full Saunum heater warranty policy.
UL listing
UL file E525245 covers the Air 7: it is cULus Listed to UL 875 and CSA C22.2 No. 164. UL's May 2023 US and Canadian certificates list the AIR 7 by name.
FAQ
Saunum Air 7 sauna heater FAQ
Is my room right for a Saunum Air 7 or an Air L 10?
The Air 7 tops out at 318 cubic feet; the Air L 10 begins at 283. Multiply the room out in feet, add 3.0 cubic feet for each square foot of stone, concrete, brick, tile or glass, and multiply by 1.5 for uninsulated log walls; from 283, where the two ratings overlap, Saunum's take-the-larger rule points to the Air L 10.
Does the Saunum Air 7 work with any other sauna control?
No. Saunum's manual says the Air runs exclusively with its AirIQ control system, so a Harvia, HUUM or generic control will not drive it. The AirIQ is bought separately; its panel goes on a wall outside the hot room.
How many amps does the Saunum Air 7 draw?
At 240 volts, single phase, it draws 28.75 amps (6,900 watts). It needs its own hardwired circuit; a licensed electrician picks the breaker and cable using the National Electrical Code and Saunum's manual, and Saunum says not to put the heater on a GFCI breaker.
The Saunum Air 7 has a fan, so does the room still need vents?
It does. Saunum's manual asks for a fresh air inlet low down, within a foot of the floor and close to or under the heater, and an outlet placed 24 to 47 inches above the floor, across from the heater, enough for six air changes an hour. The Air 7's fan stirs the room's own air and is not a vent.
How low a ceiling can the Saunum Air 7 go under?
73 inches is the minimum, with 40 inches between the top of the basket and the ceiling. The flue adjusts in height between 73 and 95 inches so the intake cap reaches the ceiling. Saunum gives no maximum, so ask us about any room taller than 95 inches.
Can I start the Saunum Air 7 from my phone?
Yes, through the AirIQ control and the Saunum app on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Remote start only works with the door sensor fitted and the sauna door shut; the door sensor ships in the Air 7 box. After a scheduled session reaches temperature, the AirIQ runs 30 minutes and then stops unless someone confirms it. The app is a choice, not a requirement: choose "Set up offline" at the Wi-Fi step (older panels say "Skip") and the AirIQ panel works the heater on its own.
What are the salt spheres in the Saunum Air 7 for?
Seven Himalayan salt spheres rest in sockets just inside the outlet grille, ahead of the fan. Saunum lists them as optional and says the heater works the same without them; check them yearly and replace them only with Saunum spheres to keep warranty cover.
How loud is the Saunum Air 7 fan?
You will hear it. The manual for the Air 7 states that a running fan always makes a certain noise and gives no decibel rating; its first suggestion for a quieter room is a lower fan speed. A sound that is not uniform, or one with a metallic edge, is the manual's sign that the fan needs maintenance.
What does the Saunum Air 7 warranty cover?
Two years of cover against defects in materials and assembly, for home sauna use. Labor is not covered, nor are the heating elements or salt spheres, and the claim must include the installation report from the manual. The Air 7 manual that ships with the heater gives no term for commercial use, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.
Is the Saunum Air 7 certified for US and Canadian codes?
The Air 7 is cULus Listed to UL 875, the US safety standard for electric dry-bath heaters, and CSA C22.2 No. 164 for Canada, under UL file E525245. UL's 2023 certificates name the model.
