Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Every Harvia heater and stove ships free to the contiguous 48. What changes across the range is not the cost to you but how it arrives: electric heaters come by parcel and need nobody home, while wood-burning stoves come palletized by freight, by appointment, to the curb. Call (888) 500-5675 if you want the delivery method for your exact model confirmed before you order.
Electric heaters ship by parcel. Wall-mounted and pillar heaters run roughly 29 to 55 pounds, so they travel as insured ground parcel. No delivery appointment, no liftgate, no waiting in. These are the models that ship free to the lower 48.
Wood-burning stoves ship by freight. A wood stove can weigh several hundred pounds before you add stone, so it moves palletized on an LTL carrier. Freight is included to the contiguous 48. What a pallet changes is the handling: a delivery appointment, a signature, and curbside drop rather than a carrier leaving it at the door.
Sauna stones ship separately and they are heavy. A heater takes anywhere from one box to thirteen at roughly 44 pounds a box. That weight is why stones are quoted with your order rather than folded into a headline price.
Scheduling your delivery. Parcel shipments need nobody home. For freight, the carrier calls to arrange an appointment window and someone must be there to sign. Curbside is the standard: the driver will not bring a pallet inside or up steps, so arrange help for a heavy stove.
Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada are quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.
Inspect before you sign. Check the carton or pallet for damage while the driver is still there, and note any damage on the delivery receipt at the time of signing. Then contact us the same day. A clean signature with no damage noted makes a freight claim much harder to win, and this one habit is what decides most claims.
Lead times. Harvia stock for this market moves through a US distributor, so most orders ship promptly. Some part numbers are supplied from Finland and take longer. We confirm the position for your specific model when you order rather than publishing an average that would be wrong for half the range.
Questions before you order? Ten minutes on the phone confirming freight, lead time and what else has to be on the same pallet is cheaper than a surprise after you have paid.
Warranty
Warranty
Harvia covers its sauna heaters and wood-burning stoves against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Coverage runs from your date of purchase, so keep your receipt. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor for North America.
Coverage periods. Residential family use: 2 years on electric heaters, controls and steam generators including the heating elements, and 2 years on wood-burning stoves. Commercial use: 2 years on electric heaters, controls and electronics but 6 months on heating elements, and 6 months on wood-burning stoves.
Register within 30 days and Harvia adds a third year. Registration is free and needs the model, serial number and purchase date. We send you the link and your serial number with your order, so you do not have to go looking for it. Electric heaters in residential use only. Almost no retailer mentions it, and it is worth a full extra year.
What is covered. Defects in manufacture and materials. Harvia will repair the product or supply replacement parts through the importer. Replacing a part does not extend the original period.
What is not. Normal wear, improper installation, poor maintenance, failure to follow the instructions, alterations and improper use. Sauna stones are a consumable and are not covered, and stones Harvia does not specify for your model can void cover.
Professional installation is a condition. Harvia requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician and that proof of professional installation can be presented with a claim. Keep your installer's invoice with your receipt. A heater wired by the owner is outside the warranty.
Transport damage has a seven day limit. Harvia requires that you check the product for transport or storage damage on receipt, and that any damage found is reported to the seller or the carrier immediately and no later than seven days after delivery. We ask you to call us the same day because a claim is far easier to win with the damage noted on the delivery receipt, but seven days is the outside limit in Harvia’s own terms.
Changing how you use it ends the cover. Harvia states that the warranty period expires immediately if the primary intended use changes during the period, in either direction. Moving a heater from a family sauna into a gym, a rental or any other commercial setting ends the residential cover rather than converting it. Tell us before you order if the room will be used commercially, so we can quote it on the right terms from the start.
A callout for a fault that is not covered can be charged. If the defect turns out to fall outside the warranty, Harvia is entitled to charge for the work of finding it, including labour, travel and shipping at actual cost. Call us first and we will work through the symptoms with you before anything is booked, which is usually enough to tell whether it is a warranty fault, an installation issue or a stone problem.
How to make a claim. Call (888) 500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com with your order number, model and serial number, and a description of the fault. Photographs help. We open the claim with Harvia US on your behalf.
Return Policy
Return Policy
If a Harvia heater or stove is not right, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it. All return communication is handled by our team at Recovery Room Direct. You do not need to contact the manufacturer or the distributor yourself.
Condition required. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original packaging and all included parts. A heater that has been wired in, fired, or loaded with stones counts as installed and cannot be returned.
How to start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com with your order number. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back, and product returned without one can be refused. We will give you the RA number and the return address.
What a return costs. You get full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee that typically runs about 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard customer return, which is better than most of what we carry, where 15 to 20 percent is normal.
Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We do, and the distributor does, when the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side. Nothing is deducted for freight in those cases.
Damaged on arrival is a different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the carton and the contents, and call us the same day. Concealed damage found after signing is much harder to claim, so open the box on delivery day even if you are not installing for weeks.
Sauna stones. Stone is sold by weight and is not returnable once a box is opened. Order the quantity your model takes and ask us if you are unsure, because the amount is set by the heater rather than by the room.
Control units and accessories. Same 30 day window and the same condition requirement. A control unit that has been wired in cannot be returned.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Harvia KIP Series Package
Harvia KIP45W Sauna Heater Package
The KIP45W is the W version of Harvia's wall-mounted KIP, so it has no controls on the body and will not run until a separate control unit is wired to it. It also needs a full box of stone before the first heat. This package puts the heater, the CX170 matched to your supply and one box of AC3000 in one order.
At 4.5kW Harvia rates it for rooms from 100 to 210 cubic feet. The package is priced at the three parts added together, at the prices we charge for the heater and the control on their own.
Shop Pay Installments financing available at checkout. Speak with a recovery specialist on (888) 500-5675.
In the package
Three parts, matched to each other
Pick the voltage above. The heater and the control change with your choice; the stone is the same for both options.
1 × Harvia KIP45W heater
The 4.5kW wall-mounted heater in stainless steel. The carton holds the heater, its mounting screws, the caution and warning signs and the installation manual.
1 × Harvia Xenio CX170 control with WiFi
CX170-U1-15 on the 240V single-phase version, CX170-U3-15 on 208V three-phase. Supplied with the touch control panel, the power unit, the data cable, the temperature sensor and the manual. Harvia's KIP manual is explicit that the power unit and the sensor come with the control unit rather than with the heater. The power unit goes on a wall outside the sauna room, in a dry place. Harvia allows the panel outside the sauna room or inside it, kept away from the heater and no higher than 1 m (39 in) off the floor.
1 × Harvia AC3000 stones, 44 lb box
Split-face olivine diabase, 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) across. Harvia gives that stone size for the KIP and lists olivine diabase among the suitable stone materials. One box fills the heater's rated 44 lbs.

| 240V Single-Phase | JH45WU1UL | CX170-U1-15-XW | AC3000, 1 box | 18.8 A |
| 208V Three-Phase | JH45WU3UL | CX170-U3-15-XW | AC3000, 1 box | 12.5 A |
Harvia rates this heater for 240V single phase or 208V three phase only. If your building has 208V single-phase power, neither version suits it, so call us before you order.
Already have a control? The KIP45W is also sold on its own on the Harvia KIP45W heater page.
Harvia KIP45W Features
What the heater gives you at 4.5kW
Wall-mounted, floor stays clear
Bolted to the wall at 16.1 by 11 by 23.6 inches, so a small room keeps its bench space and its walking room. A pillar heater of the same output takes floor area a compact sauna usually cannot spare.
Runs from a Xenio CX170
This model runs from a Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit, and that CX170 is in this package. It buys you a start timer and a proper display, so the room can be hot when you arrive. The B version of the same heater carries its controls on the body instead.
UL certificate, rated IPX4
Harvia lists a UL certificate for both versions in this package and an IPX4 rating against splashing water. The room temperature is set from the Xenio control.
Sizing the KIP45W
Is 4.5kW the right output for your room?
Measure length × width × height in feet. Harvia also publishes a floor area for this model, 16 to 30 square feet, at a minimum room height of 75 inches (1900 mm). Unlike some heaters in the range, the KIP's published minimums differ properly by output, so both ends of the range are meaningful here.
Cold surfaces change the answer, and a glass door counts. Harvia's manuals treat brick, glass, tile and concrete as non-insulated surface and say to add 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of it, which works out near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Harvia's own worked examples: a 10 cubic meter room with a glass door behaves like a 12 cubic meter room, and the same room with a 2 by 2 meter brick wall behaves like 15. If you are close to the limit, size up rather than down.
Log walls without insulation heat slowly. Harvia advises multiplying the room volume by 1.5 before choosing output in that case.
Electrical requirements
One circuit on either supply
Worth settling before you price the electrical work. Harvia's US manual gives the KIP45W a rated amperage of 18.8 A at 240 volt single phase or 12.5 A at 208 volt three phase. Its cable table for the W version with a control unit lists #10/2 + #14/2 at 240V and #14/3 + #14/2 at 208V. Either way it is a single-circuit heater, and the CX170 in the package is the version built for that supply.
Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than a breaker size. Fixed electric heating counts as a continuous load, so your electrician sizes the conductor and the overcurrent device with headroom above that figure, to the National Electrical Code and to whatever edition your local authority has adopted.
The heater is hardwired. Harvia's KIP manual calls for copper wire rated to 90°C (194°F) for all wiring on the sauna walls and ceiling, brings the power cable in through one of the two rubber-gasketed holes on the lower rear of the heater, and states that receptacles or plugs are not permitted in the sauna room. It also says the heater must be connected to a standard 2-pole breaker and that a GFCI must not be used. Some local codes require GFCI protection anyway. Raise that with your electrician before the rough-in rather than at inspection.
Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Harvia's warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice.

Harvia KIP45W Package FAQ
Questions buyers ask about the KIP45W package
What is in the Harvia KIP45W package?
Three parts: the KIP45W heater in stainless steel for the supply you choose, the Harvia Xenio CX170 control matched to that supply, and one 44 lb box of Harvia AC3000 stone. The 240V single-phase version takes the CX170-U1-15 and the 208V three-phase version takes the CX170-U3-15.
Why does the KIP45W need a separate control?
The W version has no controls on the heater body. It runs from a Harvia Xenio CX170, whose power unit goes on a wall outside the sauna room, and each control unit has a published maximum load, so it has to be matched to the heater rather than chosen on features. That matching is already done in this package. If you would rather not wire a second box, the B version of this heater carries its controls on the body instead.
What size sauna room does the Harvia KIP45W heat?
Harvia rates the KIP45W for rooms from 100 to 210 cubic feet, or 16 to 30 square feet of floor at a minimum ceiling height of 75 inches. Multiply your room length, width and height in feet to get the volume. Non-insulated surface counts, and so does a glass door: Harvia adds 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of brick, glass, tile or concrete, which is near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Add that before you compare against the range.
Is one box of stone enough?
Yes. Harvia rates the KIP45W to hold 44 lbs of stone, which is exactly one box of AC3000. Stone is natural and varies in shape, so some owners add a spare box to have enough to choose from. Harvia gives a 2 to 4 inch (5 to 10 cm) stone size for the KIP, and its manual lists peridotite, olivine diabase, olivine and vulcanite as suitable materials. Damage from stones the manufacturer does not recommend is not covered by the warranty.
How many circuits does the package need?
One. Harvia's US manual gives the KIP45W a rated amperage of 18.8 A at 240 volt single phase or 12.5 A at 208 volt three phase, and its cable table for the W version with a control unit lists #10/2 + #14/2 wire at 240V and #14/3 + #14/2 at 208V. Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than breaker size, so your electrician sizes the overcurrent device above that figure, because fixed electric heating counts as a continuous load.
Does the package cost more than buying the parts separately?
No. The package is priced at the heater, the control and the stone added together, at the prices we charge for the heater and the control on their own. What the package adds is the matching: the control is the version built for this heater and your supply, and the stone is the grade and the quantity Harvia gives for it.
Does the KIP45W need a GFCI breaker?
Harvia's KIP manual is explicit: the heater must be connected to a standard 2-pole breaker, and a GFCI must not be used. Local code may require GFCI protection anyway, particularly outdoors or in a wet location, and where the two conflict your inspector decides. Settle it with your electrician before the rough-in.
Can I install the Harvia KIP45W myself?
No. The KIP45W is hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician to the National Electrical Code and local requirements. Harvia's published warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice. Harvia's KIP manual specifies copper wire rated to 90°C (194°F) for all wiring on the sauna walls and ceiling, and states that receptacles or plugs are not permitted in the sauna room.
What warranty comes with this package?
Harvia covers this heater for 2 years in residential family use, including the heating elements, under the Limited Warranty for Harvia Products dated 18 November 2025. Register the heater with Harvia within 30 days of purchase and Harvia adds a third year, for 3 years in total. Registration is free and takes a couple of minutes. We send you the link and your serial number with your order, so you do not have to go looking for it. In commercial or other non-consumer use the period is 2 years on the heater, controls and electronics, and 6 months on the heating elements. Cover runs from your date of purchase, so keep your receipt. Harvia also requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician and that you can show proof of professional installation, so keep your installer's paperwork with it. Transport or storage damage is separate and must be reported no later than seven days after delivery. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor and handles claims directly, and we open the claim on your behalf. Full terms are on our Harvia warranty policy page. Harvia's limited warranty covers controls for 2 years in residential use as well. Sauna stones are a consumable and are not covered.
