Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Your LeisureCraft sauna, plunge tub, hot tub or outdoor shower is handcrafted to order in Melancthon, Ontario and ships by insured LTL freight. Freight and all cross-border charges are included in the price — no separate shipping cost, no customs bill at the door.
Build time, not ship time. Every unit is made to order, so each product page shows an estimated build date rather than a delivery date. Transit is additional, and build dates move with production volume — peak season runs February through May. We confirm your date in writing once your order is placed.
What the carrier does. The freight company calls to schedule an appointment and delivers to the end of your driveway or the curb, usually on an 18-wheel truck. The driver will not unload your crate and will not back into your driveway. Check that a truck that size can reach your property before you order.
CRITICAL — you are responsible for unloading. Crates run 6 to 14 feet long and 800 to 1,600 pounds depending on the model, with the largest builds heavier still. If your crate is 84 inches or shorter, the carrier may have a liftgate to help lower it. Longer than that there is no liftgate, which covers most of the barrel and cabin range. You will need a forklift with extensions (crates lift from the end), a trailer to collect from the terminal, or a crew on hand. We can arrange a tilt-tow truck for $1,250 if you would rather not. Plan this before you order and we will work it out with you.
Inspect before you sign. If the crate arrives damaged, accept it, photograph everything before moving it, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading. Then call us within 72 hours. A clean signature releases the carrier and makes a claim nearly impossible to win.
Good to know. Changing your shipping address after the unit leaves the factory costs $350 — free before it ships, so tell us early. If a delivery appointment stalls because calls go unreturned, the terminal charges $35 per day in storage. Both are manufacturer charges passed through at cost. Heaters and accessories ship separately and usually arrive sooner.
Questions before you order? Call or text (888) 500-5675, Mon–Sat 9am–6pm EST. We coordinate every delivery ourselves.
Included freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery in the contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada require a quote before ordering. Build and transit times are estimates, not guarantees. Applies to the LeisureCraft Canadian Timber Collection. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →
Warranty
Warranty
All products designed and manufactured by Dundalk LeisureCraft — including the Canadian Timber Collection — are covered against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for 5 years from the day you receive the product.
What's covered. Replacement of defective parts. Service, labor and installation costs are expressly excluded by the manufacturer, and a replacement part does not extend the original 5-year period.
What's not. Normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, natural weather conditions, and failure to follow the installation and care instructions.
Heaters, stoves and chillers. These sit on LeisureCraft's separate component schedule, and LeisureCraft honors the component manufacturer's terms directly — same coverage, same duration. Electric heaters carry 3 years (elements and rocks excluded; HUUM also excludes sensors). Wood-burning stoves run 2 years to 5 years, with LeisureCraft's own Timberglow at 5, excluding the glass door, ash grate and rocks; LeisureCraft chimney kits carry 5 years with no exclusions. Chillers carry 1 to 2 years. Component coverage is parts only. We confirm the exact term for your configuration in writing before you order.
Use a licensed electrician. All electrical connections on heaters and chillers must be made by a licensed electrician, or LeisureCraft voids the component warranty. Improper installation is excluded from the 5-year sauna warranty as well.
If you've seen a 3-year figure. Some older listings and in-box manuals still show 3 years for the Canadian Timber Collection. LeisureCraft's current published policy is 5 years, and that's the coverage we confirm in writing with every order.
Residential use, and registration. The 5-year term is written for normal residential use; LeisureCraft publishes no commercial warranty. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, hotel or rental? Call us first and we'll get the factory's position in writing. We send the manufacturer's registration link with your order confirmation — registering keeps future claims straightforward.
How to make a claim. Contact us — as your authorized dealer we handle the claim with the manufacturer for you. Email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and photos of the issue.

Return Policy
Return Policy
LeisureCraft Canadian Timber products are handcrafted for your specific order in Melancthon, Ontario. Because each unit is built to order, the manufacturer does not accept returns or exchanges — so please call us before you buy if anything is unclear. We would far rather answer questions first than have you end up with the wrong sauna.
Cancellations. Production is scheduled as soon as your order is placed. Contact us as early as you can at (888) 500-5675 — if your build hasn't started we'll do everything we can to cancel at no cost. If it has, we'll tell you plainly where you stand.
Damaged on arrival? You're covered. Transit damage is handled by replacement, not return. Accept the shipment, photograph the damage before moving anything, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading before signing. Call us within 72 hours and the manufacturer ships replacement wood or components at no charge. Damage reported after a clean signature is very difficult to claim — this step is what protects you.
Five-year residential warranty. Products manufactured by LeisureCraft carry a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for five years from the day you receive them. Valid claims are resolved with replacement parts at no charge.
What it doesn't cover. The warranty is parts only — service, labour and installation are expressly excluded, and a replaced part doesn't restart the five years. It excludes normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, weather damage, and failure to follow the care instructions. Cedar is a natural material: seasonal movement and colour change to silver-grey are normal and are not defects.
Two exceptions worth knowing. The warranty is written for residential use — if you're buying for a gym, clinic, spa or rental property, call us first so we can confirm your coverage in writing. And sauna heaters are not LeisureCraft-made: Harvia, HUUM and Narvi units carry their own manufacturer warranties, and we'll point you to the right terms.
Warranty begins on the date the product is received by the original end-user. Register your warranty with the manufacturer to keep future claims straightforward — we'll send the link with your order confirmation. We're here Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm EST. View our full Return Policy →

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Canadian Timber Collection
The CT MiniPOD is the entry point of the outdoor range, and it is the one that already comes with its roof
Most people start with the Harmony, a 222 cubic foot barrel, and then discover that a roof is on its options list. The MiniPOD is the outdoor pod sauna that starts from the other end: a 208 cubic foot pod, LeisureCraft's raindrop profile rather than a cylinder, with its roof built in, cedar planks, an ice-and-water shield and black Cambridge asphalt shingles, in the price. It seats four and takes a wood stove or an electric heater.
Read that against the Harmony. You give up 14 cubic feet of air. You get a finished, shingled roof that on the Harmony, Serenity and Tranquility is a separate line, and the two sit close enough in price before options that the roof is the whole difference. It is a narrow case, and the sections below say plainly who it is not for.
Free freight to the contiguous 48 states. Monthly financing available.

LeisureCraft's own walkthrough, under two minutes.
Where the MiniPOD earns its place as a 4 person outdoor pod sauna, and what it is not
The MiniPOD is a traditional sauna: a stove or heater, stones and a room you heat, a different experience from an infrared cabin. If you are still deciding between the two, start with our infrared versus traditional sauna comparison.
It is not a barrel, though it is often listed beside them. A barrel is a cylinder on its side, and its roof, when you add one, is a separate kit over the staves. The MiniPOD is a pod standing upright, with a raindrop profile that LeisureCraft says enhances heat circulation and provides extra headroom, and its roof is the top of the structure. Inside it measures 75.5 inches deep, 80.25 wide and 76.75 high, for 208 cubic feet. The Harmony is 71 inches deep inside and 222 cubic feet: the MiniPOD is deeper but lower and narrower inside, which is where the 14 cubic feet go.
What it is not: it is not the sauna for six, and it is not the one for standing up straight anywhere on the floor. For more than four, the CT Tranquility is the honest answer; for full standing height everywhere, the CT Luna, which also comes with its roof and is electric only. And if you want a barrel because you want a barrel, the barrel saunas are a short walk from here.
- Raindrop pod, not a barrel: LeisureCraft's stated reasons are heat circulation and headroom
- 208 cubic feet, 75.5 inches deep inside, seats four per LeisureCraft
- Roof included: cedar planks, ice-and-water shield, black Cambridge asphalt shingles
- Wood stove or electric heater, both offered on this model
- Nearly square on the ground: 85 by 85.5 inches

The CT MiniPOD roof is a triple-layer shingled roof, and it is included
The three stave barrels in this collection leave the top staves open to the weather, so each has a roof kit on its options list, shingle or metal, priced by the size of the barrel. In snow country the roof kit is the usual add, and it is the line that moves a Harmony from close to the MiniPOD's price to past it.
The MiniPOD arrives with its roof in the crate, installed as part of assembly. LeisureCraft builds it in three layers: cedar planks as the deck, an ice-and-water shield over them, and black Cambridge asphalt shingles on top, the same order of layers a shingled house roof uses, and the reason LeisureCraft calls it weather-tight and built for all seasons. It is not an upgrade, an option or a line item; it is how the sauna is built.
Two things follow. If you were always going to add a roof, the MiniPOD's price is the fair one to compare against a barrel plus its kit. And if you wanted a fire under a roof that comes with the sauna, this is the smallest sauna in the range that gives you both; the Luna, the other pod-sized roof-included model, is electric only.

Eastern White Cedar, and what you are paying for in a Canadian Timber sauna
The MiniPOD is built from Eastern White Cedar, the wood that gives the Canadian Timber collection its name and its price: lighter in color than Western Red Cedar, tighter in the grain, much milder in scent, with the same natural resistance to rot, decay and insects, milled in the same Ontario factory that builds every LeisureCraft sauna.
Solid single-stave bevels
Each board runs the full length of the wall with no tenon joints along it. LeisureCraft specifies Grade-A solid cedar and does not finger-joint offcuts together, the usual place a cheaper sauna saves money and later opens up.
Three-layer shingled roof
Cedar planks, ice-and-water shield, asphalt shingles. The part most outdoor saunas in this price range leave to an optional kit, and the part that decides how the sauna ages through ten winters.
Bronze tempered glass
The door and the window are 5 mm bronze tempered single pane. Tempered for safety at heat, bronze to cut the glare. Single pane rather than sealed double glazing, which is worth knowing if you sauna through a hard winter.
Sourced from certified sustainable mills in British Columbia and Ontario, and covered by LeisureCraft's 5 year residential limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers replacement parts; service, labor and installation are excluded by the manufacturer.
Heating the CT MiniPOD: wood or electric for 208 cubic feet
The MiniPOD takes either. LeisureCraft's configurator recommends a 7.5 kW electric heater for this model, or a 14 to 16 kW wood stove, figures LeisureCraft states are based on the heater manufacturers' specifications. At 208 cubic feet it is a smaller room than the Harmony's 222.
Electric. Choose the heater at the top of this page and it is added to your order as its own line, at LeisureCraft's list price with no markup. Three are offered:
- Harvia KIP, the simplest, wall mounted, controls on the heater, no Wi-Fi
- HUUM Drop, wall mounted, 120 lb of stone, nearly three times the KIP; it runs from its own HUUM UKU control unit, local or Wi-Fi, which you choose with the heater at the top of this page
- Homecraft Revive, a Canadian-made stainless tower that stands on the floor; its Homecraft control, local or Wi-Fi, is chosen with the heater at the top of this page
Wood. Three stoves are offered at the top of this page: the Narvi Kuru in two sizes, LeisureCraft's own TimberGlow 14, and the Narvi Kaamos 20. Wood is slower to bring up and needs feeding mid-session, and the fire is half of why people choose it. A wood build also needs a chimney, routed out the side or back with or without an elbow on this model, and a floor plate under the stove; both open under the stove at the top of this page. Check whether your township restricts outdoor burning first. You can also select Without a heater if you own one; we confirm that on the order call.
Why we still ask you to call
The heater, its control, and for a wood build the stove, its chimney routing and the floor plate are all priced at the top of this page, so nothing waits on a quote. The call is where we check what you have chosen against your site: climate, how exposed the MiniPOD will be, the breaker, and where a flue can exit under local code. LeisureCraft accepts no returns, so five minutes on (888) 500-5675 before you choose is the cheapest insurance on the page.
All electrical connections must be made by a licensed electrician, and LeisureCraft's warranty is void if they are not. The heater sets the circuit, not the sauna; tell us the heater and we will put the electrical specification in writing. Plan the electrical, or the chimney, before the crate arrives.

What a week with the MiniPOD actually looks like
The sessions
An outdoor cabinet takes a while to come up to temperature from cold, longer in January than in June, which is why almost everyone who owns one settles into a rhythm rather than using it on impulse. The MiniPOD is a smaller room than the Harmony, so it is less air to heat; the heater and the weather settle how long that takes. On electric, a Wi-Fi heater changes the arithmetic most, because you can start it from the house. On wood, the fire is the arithmetic.
Sauna and cold water
A good number of owners pair a sauna this size with a plunge, alternating heat and cold in the same session. Our contrast therapy protocol sets out the timings people actually use, and the cold plunges we carry are sized to sit beside it.
Winter
The roof earns its keep in winter, and it does it quietly: shingles shed snow the way a house roof does, with the ice-and-water shield under them for the melt. The single pane glass is the part to go in knowing about: the door and window are 5 mm bronze tempered single pane rather than sealed units, so in a hard winter expect them to behave the way single glazing behaves.
Three people who choose the MiniPOD
The one who was going to add a roof anyway
If your Harmony quote already had a roof kit on it, you were paying for a roof either way. The MiniPOD gives you a three-layer shingled one for 14 fewer cubic feet of air, close enough in price that the roof is the decision.
The one who wants a fire and a finished roof in one order
The Luna comes with its roof too, and it is electric only. If a wood stove is part of what you are buying and you do not want a roof kit as a second decision, the MiniPOD is the smallest sauna in the range that answers both.
The one whose four people are four
LeisureCraft seats the MiniPOD at four, the same as the Harmony and the Luna. If your regular group is bigger, no roof fixes a bench that is not long enough; price the Tranquility, which seats six.

The roof row is the honest line in this table. Only the Harmony in this table sells its roof as a kit, the other three arrive weather-tight, and once you add the kit to a barrel the prices move closer than they look. Compare the MiniPOD against a Harmony with its roof on.
The second row worth reading twice is volume against seating. All four seat four per LeisureCraft, and the MiniPOD holds the least air of the three that publish a figure, but it is 75.5 inches deep inside against the Harmony's 71, so the difference is in the curve, not the bench. Four is the number. For six, the CT Tranquility is the sauna that grows; for standing height everywhere, the CT Luna.
Footprint is where the MiniPOD and the Luna are nearly the same object: about seven feet on a side, roof included, at the liftgate limit in the crate. The Luna buys 107 more cubic feet and full height everywhere and gives up the wood stove; the MiniPOD keeps the fire. If the pod is not the shape you want, see our outdoor sauna range and the wider traditional sauna selection.
What the CT MiniPOD costs to use, once it is in the yard
We are not going to invent a cost per session for you, because we do not know what you paid or how often you will use it. What we can give you is the denominator; five years is the length of the residential warranty.
Divide your delivered price by 780, or by 3,120 if the bench is full, and you have your real cost per session. We would rather hand you the arithmetic than publish an average we made up. What recurs is what you feed it, power on a 7.5 kW heater or wood on a stove, and your utility rate or woodpile settles that.
What you are not paying for separately
- The roof. On the Harmony it is a priced kit; on the MiniPOD it is built into the sauna
- Freight to the contiguous 48 states, and all cross-border duties
- Cedar cut, shaped and pre-drilled, so there is no carpentry on site
- The bronze tempered glass door and window
- A poured foundation, provided the ground under it is level and stays level
- Assembly labor, if you and one other person build it
What is in the CT MiniPOD outdoor sauna crate
The MiniPOD ships as one crate, flat packed. LeisureCraft publishes it at 84 by 45 by 44 inches (214 by 114 by 112 cm) and 1,403 lb (636 kg); packaged weight varies with the heater and options.
What is in it
- Every cedar component cut, shaped and pre-drilled to length
- The benches and backrests
- The roof: cedar planks, ice-and-water shield and black Cambridge asphalt shingles
- The bronze tempered glass door and window
- The fasteners and hardware
- Your heater or stove, if you ordered one, as its own line on the same order

Building the CT MiniPOD
LeisureCraft writes and publishes the assembly manual for this model, and it is worth reading before you order rather than after. Their stated requirement is two people, and the tools listed are a cordless drill, jigsaw, rubber mallet, level, tape measure, hammer, Phillips and Robertson bits, a 2 inch hole saw, a 7/16 inch socket, an adjustable wrench, a staple gun, a utility knife and a step ladder. Its first line is that it is highly recommended to view the assembly video before starting; it runs 34 minutes.

CT MiniPOD sauna delivery, and what to have ready
Freight included
Freight and all cross-border charges are already in the price, curbside to the contiguous 48 states. The crate is 84 by 45 by 44 inches and about 1,403 lb. At 84 inches it sits right on the length limit LeisureCraft sets for a liftgate rather than past it, unlike the Elation or the longer barrels, so ask us about a liftgate when you order instead of assuming either way. Whatever the answer, a crate of this weight is not a two person lift.
Built to order
Nothing is stocked. Your MiniPOD joins the production queue in Melancthon once your order is placed, and we confirm the build and ship window in writing as soon as the factory schedules it. If that date does not work, say so straight away: nothing is cut in the first days, when a change costs nothing.
What it sits on
There is no slab to pour, but the base under it has to be flat and stay flat: a concrete pad, compacted gravel under level pavers, or a deck built to carry the load. Ground that settles unevenly racks the structure and pulls the door out of square, and improper installation is excluded from the warranty.
Inspect before you sign
Photograph any damage and write it on the Bill of Lading before you sign, then call us within 72 hours. A clean signature makes a freight claim very hard to win, and on a crate this size a concealed dent is easy to miss. The crate is set down at the curb, not carried in, so have your help and your route sorted for the day.
Before the truck comes
- A level, load-bearing base: a concrete pad, a paver patio or a properly built deck
- Space to work around all sides during assembly
- Your electrician booked with the heater decided, or your chimney routing agreed
- Help on delivery day, or ask us about a liftgate when you order
A few situations do add cost, such as a tilt-tow truck, an address change after the crate ships, or terminal storage if a delivery appointment stalls. All are avoidable and all are listed on our LeisureCraft shipping policy. Because each sauna is cut for your order, LeisureCraft does not accept returns or exchanges at any point; read our return policy before ordering.
Care once it is up
The cedar will move as it takes on and gives off moisture. Check the fasteners within the first month and periodically after that, and keep the vents clear. The exterior can be stained with the Livos products LeisureCraft stocks; the interior is normally left bare, though Meldos Sauna Oil can be used. After each session open the door, wipe the benches and rinse them with cold water. Keep leaves and debris off the shingles.
Before you start. Heat loads the cardiovascular system. If you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, a seizure disorder or diabetes, have a pacemaker or another implanted cardiac or electronic device, are recovering from surgery, have Raynaud’s syndrome, or take medication affecting blood pressure, thermoregulation or alertness, speak to your doctor first. This is not an exhaustive list: if you have any health condition, ask your doctor before you start. Never use a sauna after drinking alcohol, and children should not use one unsupervised.
The questions buyers actually ask about the MiniPOD
Is the MiniPOD a barrel sauna?
No. It is a pod standing upright with what LeisureCraft calls a raindrop shape, and its roof is part of the structure rather than a kit over staves. If you want a barrel, the CT Harmony is the nearest in size and the CT Elation is the one with a flat floor.
Is the roof really included, and what is it made of?
Yes. LeisureCraft builds it in three layers: cedar planks, an ice-and-water shield, and black Cambridge asphalt shingles. It is part of the sauna, not an option, which is what separates it from the barrels, where a roof kit is a priced extra. The CT Luna (rubber membrane, electric only) and the CT Elation (bevel siding over a membrane, built in) also arrive without a roof kit to buy; the Harmony does not.
Can I put a wood stove in it?
Yes. Three stoves are offered at the top of this page, the Narvi Kuru, LeisureCraft's own TimberGlow 14 and the Narvi Kaamos 20, and LeisureCraft recommends 14 to 16 kW. A wood build needs a chimney kit, routed out the side or back with or without an elbow, and a floor plate under the stove; all three are chosen with the stove at the top of this page, and we check the routing with you before the order goes to the factory. Check your township's rules on outdoor burning first.
What size electric heater should I order?
LeisureCraft's configurator recommends 7.5 kW for the MiniPOD. Which heater carries it depends on your climate, exposure and how quickly you like to get to temperature, and we size it with you before the order goes in rather than guess. You can also choose Without a heater if you already own one; we confirm that on the order call.
Is 208 cubic feet smaller than the Harmony?
Yes, by 14 cubic feet, and both seat four per LeisureCraft. The MiniPOD is deeper inside, 75.5 inches against the Harmony's 71, but lower and narrower, which is where the 14 cubic feet go. Interior height is 76.75 inches per LeisureCraft; as in any curved-wall sauna, that is not the height at every point on the floor.
What does the warranty actually cover?
LeisureCraft's 5 year residential limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship and provides replacement parts. Service, labor and installation are excluded by the manufacturer, and the warranty does not cover normal wear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance or weather damage. Heaters and stoves carry their own manufacturer terms. The full terms are on our LeisureCraft warranty policy page.
Is it hard to assemble?
It is designed as a kit, and LeisureCraft's own manual asks for two people and ordinary tools: cordless drill, jigsaw, hole saw, mallet, level, tape, hammer, socket, wrench, staple gun, knife and a step ladder. It recommends watching the 34 minute assembly video first. If you would rather not build it, ask us about assembly when you order.
Can I pay for this over time?
Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout, and APPROVE offers financing on larger orders including business and commercial buyers. Terms, length and whether interest applies all depend on the amount financed and on approval, so the exact offer is the one presented to you rather than anything we can quote here.
What happens if I change my mind after ordering?
Every MiniPOD is built to your order, so LeisureCraft does not accept returns or exchanges at any point. That is their policy rather than a restocking arrangement, and we would rather you knew before you ordered than after. If your build has not started we will do everything we can to cancel at no cost, which is why calling the moment anything changes is the most useful thing you can do. Our full LeisureCraft return policy sets out where you stand.
How long from order to delivery?
Every MiniPOD is built to order, so the honest answer is that it depends on the production queue rather than on us, and that queue moves. We quote your build and ship window on the phone rather than publish a number that ages, and confirm it in writing once the factory schedules it. The first days after an order are the window where a change costs nothing.
Is a traditional sauna safe for me?
For most healthy adults, used sensibly, yes, but heat genuinely loads the cardiovascular system, so this is a question for your doctor rather than for us. Speak to them first if you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, a seizure disorder or diabetes, have a pacemaker or another implanted cardiac or electronic device, are recovering from surgery, have Raynaud’s syndrome, or take medication affecting blood pressure, thermoregulation or alertness. That list is not exhaustive. Never use a sauna after drinking alcohol, and children should not use one unsupervised.
Is the five year warranty valid in a gym, spa or rental?
The five year term is LeisureCraft's residential warranty. If the sauna is going into a gym, spa, short-term rental or any commercial setting, call us before you order: commercial coverage is not the same thing and we will confirm the terms in writing rather than let you find out at claim time. Financing through APPROVE is available to business buyers either way.
Is Recovery Room Direct an authorized LeisureCraft dealer?
Yes. We buy directly from the manufacturer in Melancthon, Ontario, your MiniPOD is built against your order, and we send the manufacturer's warranty registration with your order confirmation. When something needs sorting out, we deal with the factory for you. See everything we carry from them in the Dundalk LeisureCraft collection.
Not sure whether you want the pod sauna or a barrel?
It usually comes down to two questions: were you going to add a roof anyway, and do you want a fire. Tell us those two answers and we will tell you which of these four saunas is right, including when it is not this one. If it is a barrel for its own sake, start with the barrel saunas.
