How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Eagle is a 2 person outdoor traditional sauna with a glass-paned wooden door

The Eagle, SunRay model 200D1, puts a Harvia stone heater in a backyard cabin small enough for a patio corner. Hemlock walls, a black pitched metal roof and a 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater with stones, plus a 44 inch bench for two adults. Run it dry, or ladle water on the stones for steam.

It suits a couple who want the heat and the steam of a traditional sauna outside the house and do not need room to stretch out. The cabin itself is 50 by 50 inches; the roof that crowns it covers 61 by 61. Its twin, the Bristow, shares the same frame with a glass front.

Who it fits

Two adults

A 44 inch bench across a 45 by 45 inch room, with 73 inches of headroom.

The heat

Hot stones, steam on demand

A Harvia electric heater with stones. SunRay's manual recommends 125 to 170 F.

The yard

Fits a patio corner

61 by 61 inches under the roof and 100 inches to the peak, over a cabin 50 inches square.

Size and seating

SunRay Eagle dimensions: a 2 person outdoor sauna for a small patio or deck

Three measurements describe this cabin: the base, the roof and the peak.

Outside the Eagle
Roof footprint 61 W x 61 D in
Cabin, roof off 50 W x 50 D x 77 H in
To the roof peak 100 in
Inside the Eagle
Interior 45 W x 45 D x 73 H in

Seats 2 adults

Base for the cabin, clearance for the roof

The cabin walls stand on a 50 by 50 inch base, and the roof above them spans 61 by 61, an overhang of about five and a half inches on every side. The 100 inches, from SunRay's current D1/D2 manual for the metal roof, is to the tip of the roof. Size the base to the cabin and keep the air clear to the roof.

Two upright seats

The bench is 44 inches long against the back wall of a 45 inch room: two people side by side. For a third place, the Freeport and Waverly widen the interior to 57 inches.

The heater

The Harvia heater in the SunRay Eagle: stones, steam and a 125 to 170 F setting

A 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater with stones stands in a wooden guard frame in the corner of the cabin, beside the bench.

Sit in dry heat, or pour water on the hot stones for a wave of steam; the wooden bucket and ladle come with the sauna. SunRay's Traditional Outdoor Series manual recommends a setting between 125 and 170 F, and 170 F is SunRay's stated maximum. From cold, that manual allows 45 to 60 minutes to warm the cabin, and outdoors the starting point is whatever the day is, so expect the longer end in winter.

Once the room reaches your setting, the heater switches itself off and on to hold it there. SunRay asks that a single session runs no longer than 30 minutes.

The keypad on the wall

The Eagle is run from a wall keypad, which SunRay's manual lists button by button: power, a timer, temperature with a switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, the inside light, a color light with seven colors, and music. The timer sets from 1 to 99 minutes. Music plays over Bluetooth from your phone.

The heater's own manual comes with the sauna.

Construction

How the SunRay Eagle outdoor sauna is built: hemlock, double-panel walls and a black pitched metal roof

The roof

The outside finish

SunRay lists a sealed exterior and asks you to reseal it every year, and its warranty makes that a condition for any outdoor sauna kept without a weather cover. The manual also asks that you never spray the outside of the cabin with water.

Before you order

Before you order the SunRay Eagle: the base, the roof line and the circuit

Seven things to settle with a tape measure, a call to your electrician and one to the town.

  • A solid, level baseA concrete pad, a wood deck or pavers, per SunRay's manual. Never straight onto soil or grass
  • A dry floorWhere the ground stays damp, SunRay asks for a floor separator or moisture barrier under the cabin
  • Room for the roof61 by 61 inches of overhead space and 100 inches to the peak, clear of branches, gutters and the house eaves
  • A 240 V circuit of its ownRun and connected by a licensed electrician, sized from the heater manual and the National Electrical Code
  • A path from the curbThe pallet stops at the curb; two adults then carry the panels to the base
  • A yearly resealA coat of exterior sealant once a year keeps the warranty condition met
  • Permit and setbackAsk your building department, and your HOA if there is one, whether a detached sauna needs a permit and how far from the lot line it has to sit

The electrical connection

The Eagle's heater is rated 4.5 kW and runs at 240 V, on a dedicated circuit, hard-wired by a licensed electrician. SunRay's sauna manual hands the voltage and amperage question to the heater manual, so that is the page to give your electrician along with this rating.

Circuit sizing is the electrician's call. Your electrician sizes the circuit and its protection from the heater manual and the National Electrical Code.

Running cost

What a session in the SunRay Eagle costs in electricity

Worked at the heater's full 4.5 kW and 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the rate from the EIA Electric Power Monthly, June 2026. Your own rate is printed on your bill.

An hour at full power

$0.83

4.5 kW for 60 minutes is 4.5 kWh, at 18.34 cents.

A full session

$1.24

An hour of warm-up plus 30 minutes inside: 6.75 kWh.

A month

$16.09

Three sessions a week, roughly 13 sessions.

These are ceilings. The heater cycles on and off once the room reaches its setting, so a real session draws less than full power for most of its length. To use your own rate: kilowatts times hours times your price per kilowatt hour.

What you get

What arrives with the SunRay Eagle, and what you arrange yourself

  • A pad, deck or paversLevel and solid, with a moisture barrier if the spot is damp
  • Two adults for assemblySunRay's manual asks for at least two

Assembly

SunRay Eagle outdoor sauna assembly

It arrives as flat panels, and SunRay's manual asks for at least two adults.

SunRay's current D1/D2 manual starts with the floor on your level base, then the back wall, the two side walls joined to it by inner buckles, and the front wall with the door, fixed the same way. The heater goes into its wooden frame and is connected to the cabin's power box, followed by the bench, the backrest, the sand timer and the hygrometer. The inner ceiling sits over the side walls with its wiring joined to the matching leads, a wooden roof support goes in at the center, and the metal roof sections are screwed down. Ridge caps cover the seams, sealed with the sealant that comes in the box.

Lifting the roof sections onto a cabin 77 inches tall is the step where a third pair of hands earns its keep. The electrician makes the final connection to your 240 V circuit once the cabin stands.

Delivery day

SunRay Eagle delivery: free freight to your curb on a lift gate truck

The Eagle ships free by freight to the curb in the lower 48, on a truck with a lift gate. The estimate in the buy box is counted in business days. SunRay lists the shipping weight as 725 pounds.

Before delivery

The carrier calls to book a window. Someone has to be there to sign, and the driver does not carry it past the curb, so line up your helpers.

At the truck

Walk around the pallet and every carton before you sign. Photograph any crushed corner, tear or wet patch, and write it on the delivery receipt.

Before you build

Open the cartons and check each panel, the door and the roof parts while the packaging is still on hand. Our SunRay shipping policy covers the details.

Damage spotted at the curb? Note it on the receipt and call us at (888) 500-5675 before the driver leaves. Freight damage is a carrier claim, not a warranty matter, so the note on that receipt is what protects you. Heavy damage can be refused outright.

Returns. You can return the Eagle within 20 days from the date it ships, unassembled and in its original crate. For a change of mind you pay the return freight and a 20% restocking fee may apply, but the original shipping is never taken off your refund. The SunRay return policy has the steps.

Choose the Eagle when yard space is tight and a glass-paned wooden door suits you, and the Bristow for the same frame with glass at the front. Step to the Freeport or Waverly for a third seat on the same heater, or to the Seneca for a cedar cabin and a 6 kW heater.

For the four seat Cayman and Denali, see every SunRay sauna side by side. SunRay's outdoor traditional models also sit in our traditional saunas collection alongside the indoor models.

Warranty

SunRay Eagle warranty: 10 years on the structure, 1 year on the heater

The SunRay warranty certificate is the document that governs, and it splits cover in two.

  • 10 years, structureThe wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the purchase date. Cover is the parts needed for the repair
  • 1 year, heater and electricalParts replacement only; labor to fit a part is not covered
  • Residential use onlyUsing the sauna commercially voids the warranty
  • The yearly resealAn outdoor sauna without a weather cover has to be resealed every year

The cover belongs to the original buyer at the original delivery address and does not transfer. Natural surface cracks and small blemishes in the wood are not defects under the certificate. Claims start with us, and we take them to SunRay. The full summary is on our SunRay warranty policy page, and we will email you the certificate itself before you buy.

Buyer questions

SunRay Eagle 2 person outdoor sauna: questions buyers ask

How big is the SunRay Eagle outdoor sauna?

The cabin walls are 50 by 50 inches and the roof above them covers 61 by 61 inches, rising to 100 inches at the peak. Inside you get 45 by 45 inches of floor and 73 inches of headroom, with a 44 inch bench for two adults.

What electrical supply does the SunRay Eagle need?

Its 4.5 kW Harvia heater runs at 240 V on a dedicated circuit, hard-wired by a licensed electrician. The electrician sizes the circuit from the heater manual that ships with the sauna and the National Electrical Code.

How long does the SunRay Eagle take to heat up?

SunRay's Traditional Outdoor Series manual allows about 45 to 60 minutes to warm the cabin to a setting between 125 and 170 F. On a cold day outdoors, plan on the longer end. Once it is up to temperature the heater cycles to hold it.

Can I make steam in the SunRay Eagle?

Yes. The Eagle's Harvia heater holds a load of stones, and a ladle of water on them raises steam. The bucket and ladle are included.

What does the SunRay Eagle sit on outside?

A concrete pad, a wood deck or pavers, level and solid. SunRay's manual says never to place it straight onto the ground, and to add a floor separator or moisture barrier where the surface stays damp.

How is the SunRay Eagle delivered?

Free by freight to the curb in the lower 48, on a lift gate truck, with the estimate shown in business days. Someone must be there to inspect and sign. SunRay lists the shipping weight as 725 pounds, so have two adults ready to carry the panels to the site.

What warranty does the SunRay Eagle carry?

Ten years on the structure, meaning the panels, floor, ceiling and glass, and one year on the heater and electrical parts, parts only. It is for residential use, and an outdoor sauna without a cover must be resealed every year to keep the warranty valid.

What is the difference between the SunRay Eagle and the SunRay Bristow?

Size, heater and seating match: both are 2 person cabins 50 inches square with a 4.5 kW Harvia heater and a 44 inch bench. SunRay describes the Bristow with a front glass window, which brings daylight into the cabin. The Eagle has a wooden door with a multi-pane glass window and no front window.
