How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Baldwin is a 2 person indoor traditional sauna with a Harvia electric heater and stones for steam

The Baldwin (SunRay model 200SN) is the compact two seat cabin in SunRay's indoor traditional line: a hemlock room 59 inches wide and 42 deep, heated by a 3.5 kW Harvia electric heater with a basket of stones. Ladle water onto the stones and the room fills with steam; leave them dry and it runs as a dry sauna.

It suits a couple who want a classic Finnish style sauna in a spare room or a basement corner without giving up the whole room. Set it against every other brand in our indoor saunas.

Who it fits

Two, side by side

A 55 inch wide interior with a backrest, so two adults sit upright without touching elbows.

The heat

Steam when you want it

Up to 170 F (SunRay's stated maximum), with a bucket, ladle and thermo-hygrometer in the box so you can see what each ladle does.

The footprint

Fits a spare room

About 17 square feet of floor, and 75 inches tall, so it fits rooms a bigger cabin cannot.

Watch

Watch the SunRay Baldwin 2 person indoor sauna, inside and out

SunRay filmed this Baldwin standing finished on a factory floor. The camera circles the cabin, steps through the glass door and then works its way around the inside.

Inside you see the bench with its slatted wooden headrest, the sand timer and the round thermo-hygrometer on the wall, the caged ceiling light, lit, and the vent slots cut into the ceiling boards. It closes on the wooden bucket and ladle and then the Harvia heater in its wall rack, with two control dials on its face.

What two seats feel like in 55 inches

The bench runs the full inside width, so each person has roughly 27 inches of it. That is comfortable for two adults sitting up with their backs against the rest, and SunRay rates the Baldwin for two. If a third person will sometimes join you, the Southport is the same height and adds 10 inches of width.

Ceiling height and the walls of the room

At 75 inches the cabin clears a standard 8 foot ceiling by 21 inches, and a 7 foot basement ceiling by 9. SunRay's own guidance for its indoor cabins asks for at least 3 to 4 inches between the top of the sauna and the ceiling so the light and heater wiring on the roof can breathe.

The heat

The Harvia heater in the SunRay Baldwin traditional sauna

A 3.5 kW Harvia electric heater hangs on a wall rack inside the cabin, behind a wooden safety railing, with its stones on top.

Steam or dry heat, your choice each session

This is a traditional sauna in the Finnish sense. The heater warms the air and a load of stones; when you pour water on the stones it flashes into steam and the humidity rises. The bucket and ladle for that come with the sauna. A thermo-hygrometer on the wall shows you the temperature and the humidity together, so you can see what a ladle of water does.

How hot, and how fast

The Baldwin runs up to 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum for its indoor traditional saunas, and SunRay gives 160 to 170 F as the normal operating range. On warm-up, SunRay's Harvia heater sheet says to expect a usable temperature in 45 to 60 minutes. A cabin in a cool basement sits at the long end of that.

The heater's temperature sensor goes on the wall above the heater, about 4 inches below the ceiling, which is where SunRay's manual places it. You set the temperature on the heater itself, with the two control dials on its front, inside the cabin.

The stones and the heater body get hot enough to burn. SunRay's manual warns against throwing too much water on the stones at once, because the steam is boiling hot, and against drying clothes in the cabin. The wooden railing keeps knees and elbows off the heater; it is part of the install, not an option.

Construction

How the SunRay Baldwin hemlock sauna cabin is made

Hemlock panels, a tempered glass door and a vented ceiling: a simple cabin, built to be put together by two people.

Hemlock, inside and out

The walls, bench and floor are hemlock, a pale softwood, which keeps a cabin this size from feeling closed in once the light is on.

Glass and air

The front is a tempered glass door in a wooden frame. SunRay fits a ventilation system in the ceiling: the slots let moisture out after a steam round and let you take the edge off the heat without opening the door.

See how it compares with every other traditional sauna we stock, electric or wood fired.

Before you order

Five checks before the SunRay Baldwin indoor sauna arrives

Each of these takes a tape measure or a call to an electrician, and each is easier to settle now than with the boxes in your hallway.

  • Floor space59 by 42 inches for the cabin itself, plus enough room beside it for the electrician to reach the heater cable
  • Ceiling75 inches of cabin plus the 3 to 4 inches SunRay asks for above it, so 79 inches at the very least
  • A 240 V circuitDedicated to the sauna and hard-wired to the heater by a licensed electrician. Get a quote before delivery day
  • A level, dry floorThe bottom panel goes down first and everything else stands on it, so a level floor makes the rest go square
  • An indoor roomSunRay's warranty covers indoor saunas used indoors. The Baldwin has no roof for weather
Harvia heater with two control dials on its front, set in a corner beside the bench inside the SunRay Baldwin

What your electrician needs to know

The heater draws 3.5 kW at 240 V and must have a circuit of its own. SunRay's manual says the heater may only be connected by an authorized, professional electrician, and we follow it: the heater is hard-wired by a licensed electrician, who sizes the circuit from the Harvia heater manual and the National Electrical Code.

Running cost

What the SunRay Baldwin sauna costs to run per session

Worked from two inputs: the heater's 3.5 kW and 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the June 2026 US residential average in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly.

A 90 minute session

$0.96

Up to an hour of warm-up and half an hour inside: 5.25 kWh at 18.34 cents.

A month

$12.52

Three sessions a week, about 19.5 hours, 68.25 kWh.

A year

$150

234 hours at the same pace, 819 kWh.

These are ceilings. Once the room reaches your set temperature the heater cycles off and on to hold it, so a real session draws less than the full 3.5 kW. To redo it with your own rate: kilowatts times hours times your price per kilowatt hour.

Assembly

SunRay Baldwin sauna assembly, step by step

SunRay's manual builds the Baldwin in twelve steps, and the order matters because the back wall cannot stand on its own until the sides are in.

Each carton carries a set number, and the manual is firm that parts from different numbered sets must not be mixed. The bottom panel goes down first. The back panel sits in the groove along its edge, then the left and right walls screw to the back, and the front panel and two sides screw together before the roof goes on. Next come the vertical and then the horizontal seat panels.

The heater stage follows: fix the wall rack with the screws that come with it, have the electrician connect the heater, hang it on the rack, lock it with a screw and fit the safety railing around it. The last two steps are the light and the temperature sensor.

Two adults is the minimum the manual asks for.

Delivery day

SunRay Baldwin sauna delivery: what happens at the curb

The Baldwin ships free by freight to the curb anywhere in the lower 48, on a lift gate truck. SunRay's product sheet gives the shipping weight as 461 pounds; the buy box shows your delivery estimate in business days.

Before delivery

The carrier calls to book a time. Someone has to be there to sign, and a second pair of hands helps carry the cartons indoors.

At the truck

Count the cartons and look at every side before you sign. A torn corner, a crush or a damp patch goes on the delivery receipt, with a photo.

Before you build

Unpack and check the glass door and the panel faces while the packaging is still around, so a damaged part is reported before it is fitted.

If you change your mind, you have 20 days from the date the Baldwin ships to start a return, with the cabin still unassembled. You pay the return freight on a change of mind and a 20% restocking fee may apply; we never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damage you can see at the curb gets written on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. Then call us at (888) 500-5675 while the truck is still there, and we take it from there. The full terms are on our SunRay shipping policy page, and returns on the SunRay return policy.

The range

The SunRay Baldwin against the other SunRay indoor traditional saunas

All of SunRay's indoor traditional cabins are heated by a Harvia electric heater with stones; here are the Baldwin's closest siblings. It carries the smallest heater in the line, and shares its 59 by 42 inch footprint with the Rockledge.

The Baldwin and the Rockledge share a 59 by 42 inch footprint. The Rockledge adds a cultured stone back wall, color-changing LED lighting and Bluetooth audio, and steps up to a 4.5 kW heater. Want to stay at two seats on less floor? The Aston is narrower and shallower but taller. For three people on the same 75 inch height, look at the Southport.

Warranty

The SunRay Baldwin sauna warranty, in full

One SunRay certificate covers the Baldwin, with two terms: a long one for the room and a short one for anything electrical.

SunRay warranty certificate
Structure, 10 years The wooden sauna panels, flooring, ceiling and glass. Covers the parts needed for the repair; SunRay may send a replacement sauna at its discretion
Parts and electronics, 1 year All sauna parts including the heater and electrical components. Parts replacement only; labor is not covered
Use Residential only. Commercial use voids the warranty. Indoor saunas must be used indoors
Who is covered The original customer at the original delivery address; not transferable

A few lines on the certificate are worth knowing before you buy. SunRay does not count surface cracks in the wood or minor blemishes as defects, since that is how wood behaves in heat. Clean the inside only with a water soluble cleaner suitable for unfinished wood. And get SunRay's written consent before any repair if you expect to be reimbursed for it. The terms are set out on our SunRay warranty policy page, and we will email you the certificate itself before you order if you ask.

Buyer questions

SunRay Baldwin 2 person sauna: questions before you buy

What are the SunRay Baldwin's dimensions?

The Baldwin measures 59 inches wide, 42 deep and 75 tall on the outside, and 55 by 39 by 69 inches inside. SunRay asks for at least 3 to 4 inches between the top of the cabin and your ceiling, so plan on a ceiling of 79 inches or more.

What electrical supply does the SunRay Baldwin need?

A dedicated 240 volt circuit, hard-wired to the 3.5 kW Harvia heater by a licensed electrician. The electrician sizes the circuit from the heater manual and the National Electrical Code. It does not plug into a household outlet.

How long does the SunRay Baldwin take to heat up, and how hot does it get?

SunRay's Harvia heater sheet says to expect a usable temperature in 45 to 60 minutes, with a cold room at the long end. The Baldwin runs up to 170 F, SunRay's stated maximum, with 160 to 170 F as the normal operating range.

Can you make steam in the SunRay Baldwin?

Yes. The Harvia heater carries a load of stones, and SunRay includes a wooden bucket and ladle. Pour water on the hot stones for steam and higher humidity, or leave them dry. The thermo-hygrometer on the wall shows both temperature and humidity.

What warranty comes with the SunRay Baldwin?

SunRay's certificate gives 10 years on the wooden panels, flooring, ceiling and glass, and 1 year on all parts including the heater and electrical components, parts only with labor excluded. It covers residential use by the original buyer at the original address.

How is the SunRay Baldwin delivered?

By freight, free to the curb in the lower 48, on a lift gate truck. SunRay's product sheet puts the shipment at 461 pounds, and the cabin cartons are numbered. Someone must be there to sign, and any visible damage should be noted on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.

Can the SunRay Baldwin go outside?

No. The Baldwin is an indoor sauna with no roof against the weather, and SunRay's warranty requires indoor saunas to be used indoors. For a backyard, SunRay's outdoor cabins and barrels are built for it.

Should I choose the SunRay Baldwin or the SunRay Southport?

Both are hemlock, 75 inches tall, with a single bench. The Baldwin seats two on a 59 by 42 inch footprint with a 3.5 kW heater; the Southport seats three, needs 69 by 47 inches and runs a 4.5 kW heater. Pick on how many people will use it at once.
