How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48. On every SunRay sauna, by freight from Richmond, Virginia. The estimate on each product page is in business days.

Freight to the curb. A kit of panels or barrel staves, in cartons on a pallet. The freight company calls to book a window, someone signs, and residential deliveries come on a lift gate truck. Plan for two or more people.

Hard to reach addresses. If a truck cannot reach you, a smaller vehicle may cost extra, and we tell you before the delivery is booked.

When it ships. In-stock saunas usually leave SunRay's warehouse within 1 to 2 business days of SunRay receiving the order, and you get a tracking email when it leaves.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there; for minor damage, call before the driver leaves. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. We do not ship SunRay to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Not included: the electrical work and the assembly. A licensed electrician hardwires the Harvia heater on a traditional sauna to 240 V. Professional setup and assembly is available on the indoor saunas, and by quote on the others.

What does the warranty cover?

Structure: 10 years. The wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, from the original date of purchase, for the parts needed to repair a defect. If a structural defect cannot be fixed with a part, SunRay may send a replacement sauna; assembling it is then your cost.

Parts and electronics: 1 year. Every other part, including the heater and the electrical components. Parts replacement only: labor for fitting a part is not covered.

Not covered. Alteration, neglect, misuse, freight damage caused by the carrier, accidents and acts of God. Surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood are natural, not defects. Report delivery damage within 48 hours, before assembly.

Two conditions decide most claims. Residential use only, because a commercial setting voids the warranty. And installed, run and maintained to the instructions: indoor saunas stay indoors, and an outdoor sauna without a weather cover needs its exterior resealed every year.

Who is covered. The original customer at the original delivery address. The warranty cannot be transferred.

Ask before a repair. Get SunRay's written consent before any repair you expect to be reimbursed. SunRay decides the cause of a fault and whether to repair or replace.

Who handles it. We are a factory-authorized SunRay dealer and file the claim for you. Call us with your order number, the model and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

20 days from the ship date. New, unassembled and resalable; the ship date is in your tracking email. We handle the return, so you do not contact SunRay.

Unassembled means returnable. In its original packaging and crate with the manuals and accessories. A sauna that has been assembled, wired in or heated cannot go back.

What a return costs. A restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price may apply on a change-of-mind return. There is none on a documented freight damage claim.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error.

Original shipping. We never deduct the original shipping from your refund.

Damaged on arrival. A different and faster process. Note it before signing and photograph it. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there. Report anything found after unpacking within 48 hours.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we place the order with SunRay. After that an administrative fee of up to 5% may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged. If we miss our own ship date, you cancel with no fee.

To start a return. Call us for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The SunRay Galaxie 400LX: a 4 person indoor traditional sauna with two tiers of bench

The Galaxie is the largest of SunRay's LX cabins and the one built for a group. Four people sit on two levels of bench in front of a cultured stone wall, under color-changing ceiling lights, with Bluetooth sound and a 6 kW Harvia electric heater carrying a load of stones for steam.

Pick it for a family room, a finished basement or a home gym where four people will share a session, and where the room can give up 71 by 55 inches of floor. It sits alongside the wider range of indoor saunas we carry.

Who it fits

Four people

An upper and a lower bench, so some sit higher in the heat and some lower.

The heat

Steam on demand

Ladle water on the hot stones for a burst of steam, up to SunRay's stated 170 F.

The room

Stone and light

A cultured stone back wall, a lit backrest and color LEDs across the ceiling.

Fit

SunRay Galaxie dimensions: room for four in 71 by 55 inches

A four seat cabin at least eight inches shallower than SunRay's other four seat indoor cabins. Check the height as carefully as the floor: at 79 inches it is four inches taller than the two seat Rockledge.

Outside the Galaxie
Exterior 71 W x 55 D x 79 H in
Floor area About 27 sq ft
Room ceiling 83 in or more
Inside the Galaxie
Interior 67 W x 51 D x 75 H in
Volume About 148 cu ft
Benches Two tiers, up to four adults
Two-tier benches below the lit stone back wall and ceiling downlights inside the SunRay Galaxie
The two tiers of bench in the Galaxie, under the ceiling lights and in front of the lit stone wall.

Why two tiers matter

Heat rises, so in a traditional sauna the upper bench runs hotter than the lower one. With two levels, four people can choose: more heat on the upper bench near the ceiling, a gentler seat on the step below.

Against SunRay's other four seat cabins

The Charleston seats four on 71 by 63 inches, and the Tiburon on 63 inches across by 69 front to back. The Galaxie takes 55 inches of depth, eight less than the Charleston and fourteen less than the Tiburon, for the same 6 kW of heat and four seats, and it adds the LX finish. In a room where the sauna has to leave a walkway in front of it, that depth is the reason to choose it.

The heat

Inside the SunRay Galaxie: a 6 kW Harvia heater with stones for a four person room

A bigger room needs a bigger heater: the Galaxie runs 6 kW, the rating SunRay's LX manual gives the 400LX, against 4.5 kW in the compact Rockledge.

The heater and the stones

SunRay lists a 6 kW Harvia electric heater with digital controls, set in a wooden stove frame and supplied with what SunRay calls lava stones. Once the stones are hot, a ladle of water over them raises a burst of steam; leave them alone and the room stays dry. SunRay's rule is a little water at a time, since a flood can damage the heater. The wooden bucket and ladle come with the cabin.

Temperature

For its indoor traditional saunas, SunRay's earlier product pages state a maximum of 170 F and a normal operating range of 160 to 170 F. On the Galaxie, the upper bench is where you feel the top of that range.

Warm-up

SunRay's Harvia heater sheet allows 45 to 60 minutes for the room to reach a usable temperature. A cool basement sits at the long end, so start the heater earlier there. For a sense of what a 6 kW unit is, see our electric sauna heaters.

Construction

SunRay Galaxie construction: the luxury finish on a four person cabin

The Galaxie carries the full LX specification, scaled up for four people.

Cultured stone

The back wall is cultured stone in what SunRay calls a slate color, behind both tiers of bench. It is the first thing anyone sees through the glass, and the reason the LX cabins look different from a plain wooden room.

Light where you sit

SunRay describes the backrest as illuminated and ergonomic, and color-changing LED lights are set across the ceiling, so the room can glow while the lamps are off.

Sound

A Bluetooth sound system streams from a phone, so a playlist or a podcast fills the room while the stones heat.

A Galaxie in a finished basement, with the stone back wall lit behind the glass front.

Front, handle and vent

Tempered glass across the front with a stainless steel handle, and a ventilation system that SunRay lists for the cabin.

Caring for the wood

The cabin is hemlock, per SunRay's Galaxie data sheet. SunRay's warranty asks that the inside is cleaned only with a water soluble cleaner made for unfinished wood.

For other cabins built around a stove and stones, see our traditional saunas.

Before you order

Five things to settle before ordering the SunRay Galaxie sauna

Measure, book the electrician, line up help. Then the rest of the job is assembly.

  • Floor space71 by 55 inches, level, solid and dry, inside the house. Leave space in front for the glass door to open and people to get in
  • Ceiling height83 inches or more: the cabin is 79 tall and SunRay asks for 3 to 4 inches of air above it for the electrical parts on the roof
  • A 240 V supplyA dedicated circuit at 240 V, hard-wired by a licensed electrician who works to the heater manual and the National Electrical Code. The heater cable leaves the cabin through a pre-drilled hole, so plan where the supply meets it
  • HelpersSunRay's LX manual covers the Galaxie and asks for at least two adults; its back wall comes in two sections
  • The way in874 pounds arrives at the curb as flat-packed panels. Check the doors and stairs between there and the room
An indoor sauna only. SunRay's indoor cabins have no weather roof, and the SunRay warranty requires that indoor saunas are kept indoors.

Running cost

SunRay Galaxie sauna running cost per session and per year

At 6 kW and 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the US residential average in the EIA Electric Power Monthly for June 2026. Check your own bill for your rate.

Per hour, flat out

$1.10

6 kilowatt hours at 18.34 cents.

A 90 minute evening

$1.65

An hour of warm-up and half an hour inside: 9 kilowatt hours.

Three evenings a week, all year

$257

156 evenings of 90 minutes: 234 hours, 1,404 kilowatt hours.

The heater only runs flat out until the room reaches temperature; after that it switches on and off to hold it, so the real figure lands below these. Split between four people, an evening costs each of them about 41 cents at most.

Assembly

SunRay Galaxie sauna assembly

SunRay's LX manual covers the whole LX line, with two extra steps for the Galaxie.

The Galaxie's back wall comes in two sections: screw them together through the wood inserts and fit the long wooden strip along its bottom, then stand it upright, a job for two adults. From there the build matches the line. The side walls join on inner buckles, the floor slides in between, the front wall follows, and the roof is set on and secured from inside.

Then the handles go on, the wooden stove frame is built and the Harvia set in it, its cable pulled through a pre-drilled hole. The manual's own drawings take you through the two-tier bench, the second extra step. The hygrometer, sand timer and a dome light in a side panel finish the inside, and the roof plugs are joined to their pairs. Connecting the heater to the 240 V circuit is the electrician's job.

Delivery day

SunRay Galaxie sauna delivery and what to check at the truck

Free freight to the lower 48, to the curb from a lift gate truck. The freight company calls ahead to agree a window, and the buy box shows the estimate in business days.

Before the truck

Arrange helpers for the carry and make sure an adult will be home to sign.

As it comes off

Walk around the shipment. Note any crushed, wet or torn packaging on the receipt and take photos before you sign.

First look inside

Unpack the glass front and the stone wall panels first, and check them before the cartons are recycled.

If the Galaxie is not right, you have 20 days from its ship date to start a return, with the cabin unassembled. A change of mind means you pay the return freight and a 20% restocking fee may apply; we never deduct the original shipping. See the SunRay return policy.

Note damage on the receipt while the driver is there. Then call us at (888) 500-5675 before the truck pulls away, and we will decide with you whether to take the delivery. Damage in transit is the carrier's responsibility, not a warranty claim. Read the SunRay shipping terms for the rest.

The range

SunRay Galaxie next to its closest SunRay indoor traditional saunas

SunRay's four seat indoor cabins share the 6 kW heater. Depth and the LX finish are what separate the Galaxie from the Tiburon and the Charleston. The compact two seat Rockledge completes the table.

For four people, the choice is between the Galaxie, the Tiburon and the Charleston, all on 6 kW. The Galaxie is the shallowest, 55 inches deep against 63 and 69, and the one with stone, lights and sound. If two seats are enough and the room is narrow, the Rockledge carries the same finish on a 42 inch depth.

Two and three seat cabins without the LX finish, and the outdoor line: every SunRay sauna side by side.

Warranty

SunRay Galaxie sauna warranty coverage

The terms come from SunRay's warranty certificate, which SunRay has confirmed is the one in force.

What the SunRay certificate covers
Cabin structure 10 years on the wooden panels, flooring, ceiling and glass; the parts to repair a defect
Heater and electrics 1 year on all sauna parts, heater and electrical components included; replacement parts only, labor excluded
Where and who Indoors, in a home, for the first owner at the first delivery address; not transferable
Excluded Commercial use, carrier freight damage, alteration, misuse, ignoring the instructions

Natural surface cracks and small marks in the wood are not counted as defects. SunRay judges the cause of a fault, may replace the whole sauna where a part will not fix a structural defect, and leaves the assembly of a replacement to the owner. Ask SunRay in writing before paying for any repair you want refunded. The full summary is on the SunRay warranty policy page; ask us and we will email the certificate.

Buyer questions

SunRay Galaxie 4 person indoor sauna questions

What size is the SunRay Galaxie?

Outside, 71 inches wide, 55 deep and 79 tall, and 67 by 51 by 75 inches inside. With SunRay's 3 to 4 inches of air above an indoor cabin, the room needs at least 83 inches of ceiling.

How many people does the SunRay Galaxie seat?

Four adults, on two tiers of bench. The upper bench sits in hotter air near the ceiling and the lower one is milder, so a group can spread out by preference.

What heater does the SunRay Galaxie use?

A 6 kW Harvia electric heater with digital controls and stones, in a wooden stove frame. SunRay's LX manual, its Galaxie data sheet and its 2026 price list all give 6 kW.

What electrical work does the SunRay Galaxie need?

A dedicated 240 V circuit, hard-wired by a licensed electrician; there is no plug. The electrician sizes the circuit and cable from the heater manual and the National Electrical Code.

How quickly does the SunRay Galaxie heat up?

SunRay's Harvia heater sheet says to expect a usable temperature in 45 to 60 minutes, slower in a cold room. The stated maximum is 170 F, and SunRay gives 160 to 170 F as normal.

SunRay Galaxie or SunRay Charleston: which four person sauna?

Both seat four on two tiers with a 6 kW Harvia heater. The Galaxie is 71 by 55 inches, 8 inches shallower than the Charleston's 71 by 63, and adds the LX finish: a cultured stone back wall, a lit backrest, color-changing LED lights and Bluetooth sound. The Charleston is cedar, with the largest interior floor of SunRay's indoor cabins.

What is the SunRay Galaxie warranty?

SunRay covers the structure, meaning the wooden panels, floor, ceiling and glass, for 10 years, and the heater and electrical parts for 1 year, parts only. Residential use, indoors, original owner and address.

How is the SunRay Galaxie delivered?

Free freight to the lower 48, unloaded at the curb from a lift gate truck after the freight company calls to book a time. Someone signs for it, and any damage is noted on the receipt. Moving the panels indoors is up to you.
