Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Your Summit to Sea hyperbaric chamber ships free via freight delivery to any address in the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Liftgate service is included.
Prescription required. Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices (510(k) K072757). A valid physician's prescription is required for your order to ship. Email your prescription to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com after placing your order — our team will follow up with you if we need anything else.
Processing time. Once your prescription is confirmed, your order is submitted to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Chambers ship directly from the Summit to Sea facility.
Transit time. Typically 7–10 business days after shipment, depending on your location. You will receive tracking information once the carrier picks up your order.
Scheduling your delivery. All hyperbaric chambers ship as oversized freight on a pallet. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment before the truck arrives. Respond promptly — missed delivery attempts can result in storage fees charged to you.
What to expect at delivery. Standard delivery is curbside — the driver will lower the shipment using the truck's liftgate, but will not bring it inside or assist with installation. Have help available on delivery day.
IMPORTANT — inspect before you sign. Walk around the shipment and check all boxes for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading before the driver leaves. If you observe major structural damage, refuse the delivery — we will arrange a replacement at no cost. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier from all damage claims.
Alaska, Hawaii & outside the contiguous U.S. Not available at standard checkout. Call (888) 500-5675 for a custom freight quote.
Free freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →
Return Policy
Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Summit to Sea chamber. If something isn't right, you have 15 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return. All return and refund communication is handled directly by our team at Recovery Room Direct — you never need to contact Summit to Sea yourself.
How to start a return. Email us at sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase. Do not ship the item back without prior written authorization. We will coordinate with Summit to Sea on your behalf.
Condition required. The chamber must be unused, uninflated, and in the same condition you received it, including all original packaging, components, compressor(s), and accessories. FDA-cleared medical devices that have been assembled, inflated, or used are not eligible for return.
What a return costs. Returning large freight equipment involves real costs — we want to be transparent:
- 20% restocking fee deducted from your refund
- Return freight shipping is your responsibility (hyperbaric chambers are large, heavy freight — costs are significant)
- Original outbound shipping is deducted from your refund
Your refund. Once Summit to Sea receives and inspects the returned item, we will notify you of approval status. If approved, your refund is issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of inspection approval.
Prescription note. Because these are FDA-cleared medical devices, any prescription documentation submitted will be retained on file per our compliance requirements and cannot be returned or deleted.
Warranty. All Summit to Sea chambers carry a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering all components — including the compressor, electronics, zipper, windows, seams, valves, and hoses. Warranty claims are coordinated through Recovery Room Direct — call (888) 500-5675.

- 84″ interior height — full standing clearance for upright seated comfort
- 4-compressor system — delivers stable 1.3 ATA across 60″ volume
- 2–3 seated person capacity — true group session capability

What Every Summit to Sea Grand Dive Vertical Buyer Should Know First
We would rather help you make the right decision than close a quick sale. The Grand Dive Vertical is a significant clinical investment with logistics and space requirements unlike nearly any other online purchase.
Prescription Required (Residential)
Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices. Residential delivery requires a valid physician’s prescription on file before your order ships. Licensed clinical facilities and commercial buyers are exempt from this requirement.
Freight Shipping — 3 to 5 Weeks Total
The Grand Dive Vertical ships via LTL freight, free to the contiguous 48 states. After prescription confirmation, allow 7–14 business days lead time plus freight transit — typically 3–5 weeks from order to delivery. This is not an expedited product.
Room Requirements
Fully inflated, the Grand Dive Vertical is 60 inches in diameter. Plan for at least 6 feet of clear floor space on all sides, plus ceiling clearance for the chamber’s 84-inch interior height. A dedicated treatment room is strongly recommended at this scale.
Questions about the prescription process, room planning, or Grand Dive Vertical vs. Grand Dive Pro? Our hyperbaric advisors are available seven days a week. Financing available on qualifying orders. HSA/FSA eligibility varies — verify with your benefits provider and obtain a Letter of Medical Necessity from your physician.
The Science Behind Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA
Inside a hyperbaric chamber, atmospheric pressure is raised above normal sea-level pressure. The Grand Dive Vertical operates at 1.3 ATA — equivalent to approximately 11 feet below sea level. At this pressure, more oxygen dissolves into blood plasma than is possible at standard atmospheric conditions. This is a well-understood physical property of gas under pressure and the basis of hyperbaric therapy in clinical settings worldwide.
Four compressors gradually inflate the nylon shell to 1.3 ATA over 5–10 minutes. Users breathe ambient air — no oxygen mask or concentrator required. The quad configuration is specifically chosen to pressurize the 60-inch volume reliably and hold stable pressure across a full 60–90 minute session. Decompression is gradual via valves inside and outside the chamber.
Summit to Sea holds FDA 510(k) clearance #K072757 for their chambers as Class II medical devices, cleared for acute altitude sickness. Residential wellness use is off-label. A physician’s prescription is required for delivery to a residential address. Commercial facilities — clinics, hospitals, physical therapy practices, wellness centers — can order without a patient prescription. Consult your physician before use.
The Grand Dive Vertical is designed for professional clinical practice. Common users include integrative medicine clinics offering group seated sessions, athletic performance facilities needing simultaneous multi-user access, and serious home users for whom the 40-inch Dive Vertical offers insufficient arm room or companion session capability.
Growing academic research explores the effects of mild HBOT (mHBOT) across several areas of interest. This research is ongoing and does not constitute cleared medical indications. Summit to Sea chambers are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease other than altitude sickness. Results referenced in research literature are not guaranteed. Consult your physician before beginning any hyperbaric program.
Summit to Sea Grand Dive Vertical Hyperbaric Chamber — Key Features and Advantages
At 60 inches across in a vertical orientation, the Grand Dive Vertical is in an entirely different class. Five feet of diameter means users sit with genuine freedom — arms extended, posture unrestricted, room to shift throughout a 90-minute session. The quad-compressor system delivers the pressurization capacity this volume demands.
Sixty inches is not just wider — it is a fundamentally different spatial experience. At five feet across, users sit upright with both arms extended without approaching the wall. Most seated adults have 10–15 inches of clearance on either side. That margin eliminates the enclosed feeling that affects smaller chambers and makes 60–90 minute sessions noticeably more comfortable. For larger-framed users who find a 40-inch vertical chamber restrictive, the 60-inch diameter resolves the issue completely.
Pressurizing a 60-inch chamber to 1.3 ATA requires substantially more capacity than any smaller model. The Grand Dive Vertical uses four compressors in a coordinated system to reach and hold target pressure across the full interior volume — whether one or three users are seated inside. The quad configuration also provides redundancy: if one unit requires service, the chamber continues to function on the remaining compressors while the repair is arranged.
The Grand Dive Vertical is one of the few soft-shell chambers that can meaningfully accommodate three users in a single session. For clinical practices offering group seated mHBOT, this dramatically improves scheduling efficiency: three clients per slot means serving more patients with fewer chamber hours. For family home use, it means a parent and two children can share sessions. Two average-framed adults or three smaller individuals is the practical capacity range for most practices.
Most personal-use chambers use one or two compressors. The Grand Dive Vertical uses four — a configuration specific to the demands of a 60-inch pressurized environment. Each contributes to faster inflation, more consistent pressure maintenance, and genuine operational redundancy. For a clinical setting running multiple sessions per day, that redundancy is not a luxury — it is a practical requirement. All four units run simultaneously on standard 120V outlets; no special electrical installation required.
Group capacity is the Grand Dive Vertical’s most distinct commercial advantage. A practice that books 2–3 clients into one time slot multiplies revenue per chamber hour without additional equipment. Wellness facilities can structure group mHBOT sessions around this capacity. For home buyers, it means multiple household members sharing regular sessions on the same schedule. Two seated adults have substantial personal space inside 60 inches — this is not a tight fit.
Summit to Sea’s two-year warranty covers all components: chamber shell, reinforced zippers, pressure valves, all four compressor units, hoses, and accessories. For a clinical chamber running daily sessions, this coverage matters. Recovery Room Direct registers your warranty with Summit to Sea at the time of purchase and handles all communication if a warranty claim arises — you are not navigating manufacturer claims alone.
Summit to Sea Grand Dive Vertical Hyperbaric Chamber — See It in Action
See the 60-inch vertical interior for yourself — the pressurization sequence, the in-session seated experience, and what it actually looks and feels like inside the Grand Dive Vertical before you decide.
Grand Dive Vertical Hyperbaric Chamber — Session Protocol, Start to Finish
Summit to Sea chambers are designed for straightforward independent use. This protocol is sourced directly from the official Summit to Sea user manual for the Grand Dive Vertical vertical seated chamber.
- Clear floor space and ensure clearance on all sides for the 60-inch diameter — allow at least 3 feet beyond the chamber perimeter on all sides
- Confirm all four compressors are plugged in and all hose connections are secure
- Confirm the red deflation valve is fully closed before pressurization begins
- Bring water inside — drinking during inflation helps equalize ear pressure for all seated occupants
- If using with multiple users, confirm seating arrangement before closing the entry panel
- Turn on all four compressors — the chamber pressurizes automatically to 1.3 ATA (4.4 PSI) as a coordinated system
- If you feel ear pressure: pinch your nose, close your mouth, and gently exhale (Valsalva maneuver). Yawning and swallowing also help. Partially open the deflation valve to slow pressurization if needed
- The chamber is fully pressurized when relief valves begin releasing air and your gauge reads in the target zone
- Leave all four compressors running throughout the session — they maintain continuous fresh air circulation for all seated occupants
- When your session is complete, turn the red deflation valve to release pressure gradually. You control decompression speed by how far you turn the valve
- Wait until the chamber sides feel fully soft and your gauge reads zero before unzipping — never open the entry panel while the chamber holds any pressure
- Unbuckle all straps, then open the entry panel to exit. All users should remain seated until decompression is complete before standing
- After the session, wipe down the interior with the recommended cleaning solution and allow to dry before deflating for storage
Always read the complete Summit to Sea user manual before your first session. Session frequency, duration, and multi-user protocol questions should be discussed with the physician who issued your prescription.
Ongoing Clinic Access vs. Grand Dive Vertical: What the Math Looks Like
For practices evaluating whether to invest in a chamber or continue referring patients elsewhere, the Grand Dive Vertical’s group session capacity changes the calculus significantly. This is not a financial projection — outcomes vary by practice type, session volume, and operational context.
- Per-session cost accrues indefinitely with no ownership asset
- Scheduling dependency on another facility’s availability
- Solo session pricing — no group efficiency possible
- Cumulative cost grows with every additional user or frequency increase
- One-time acquisition; no per-session cost after purchase
- 2–3 users per session — group scheduling efficiency from day one
- Session scheduling entirely within your control
- Two-year warranty; Summit to Sea service and support included
The right comparison depends on session volume, user count, and scheduling autonomy. Grand Dive Vertical (60″ seated) serves practices specifically offering seated mHBOT; Grand Dive Pro (46″ horizontal) is better for standard horizontal clinical protocols including stretcher use. Call our team to discuss which model fits your protocols before purchasing.
Who Uses the Summit to Sea Grand Dive Vertical Hyperbaric Chamber?
The Grand Dive Vertical serves a specific buyer: those who need seated mHBOT at clinical scale, room for multiple simultaneous users, or the full 60-inch diameter no personal-use chamber can match.
Your practice wants to offer seated hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of an integrative wellness or recovery protocol. You need a chamber large enough for two clients simultaneously — or one larger-framed client with genuine room to sit naturally. The 40-inch vertical works, but the 60-inch opens the door to group session scheduling, which changes the operational model entirely. The Grand Dive Vertical fits your treatment room, serves your client size range, and runs reliably at clinical session volumes.
Clinical / ProfessionalYou operate a wellness center, athletic performance facility, or health club where group programming is the commercial model. The ability to schedule 2–3 clients into a single chamber session is not a nice-to-have — it is what makes the economics work. The Grand Dive Vertical is one of the very few soft-shell chambers that can meaningfully serve multiple adults simultaneously in a seated position. Group hyperbaric sessions run the same scheduling logic as group sauna — and the Grand Dive Vertical delivers that without a hard-shell clinical installation.
Group Wellness ProgrammingYou’ve looked at the Dive Vertical at 40 inches and concluded it does not offer enough personal space for your frame. At 60 inches, the Grand Dive Vertical provides genuine elbow room — literally. A broad-shouldered user sitting upright with arms relaxed at their sides will have substantial clearance on either side. The enclosure feeling that makes smaller chambers claustrophobic simply does not exist at this diameter. If you have tried a smaller seated chamber and found it too close, the Grand Dive Vertical is the answer. There is no larger soft-shell vertical chamber in the Summit to Sea line.
Premium Home UseWhat 60 Inches of Vertical Diameter Makes Possible
These are use configurations — not medical recommendations. What works for your situation depends on your physician’s guidance and Summit to Sea’s current user documentation.
A single user in the Grand Dive Vertical has enough space to adjust posture freely, rest both arms comfortably, or shift position throughout a 90-minute session. For users who have found smaller seated chambers constraining, the 60-inch diameter is a qualitative difference — not just an incremental one.
Two average-framed adults seated in the Grand Dive Vertical have meaningful personal space between them — practical for couples, a clinician observing a client, or a parent accompanying a child. Two-person scheduling doubles revenue per chamber hour for clinical settings.
Three smaller-framed users can share a seated session — a configuration no smaller soft-shell chamber can support. For wellness centers building group programming, this is the scheduling flexibility that makes hyperbaric therapy viable as a group offering rather than appointment-only.
A practice running four to six seated sessions per day needs reliable pressure under repeated daily use, accommodation for a range of body types, and efficient session transitions. The Grand Dive Vertical’s quad-compressor system and large-volume interior are built for this workload — not the occasional weekend session.

Summit to Sea Grand Dive Vertical Hyperbaric Chamber — Frequently Asked Questions
The Grand Dive Vertical is rated for 2–3 seated users simultaneously, depending on individual body sizes. Two average-framed adults have meaningful personal space between them — this is not a tight fit at 60 inches. Three users is practical for smaller-framed individuals or for a parent and two children sharing a session. For clinical practices, a two-person configuration is the most reliable group scheduling model across a general adult client base. contact us before purchasing if you want to confirm your specific user demographic works for three-person sessions.
Fully inflated, the Grand Dive Vertical is 60 inches (five feet) in diameter. Plan for a minimum room footprint of approximately 10 by 10 feet with adequate access on all sides for entry, exit, and compressor operation. The interior height is 84 inches — verify exterior ceiling clearance before ordering. The four compressor units require additional floor space alongside the chamber. A dedicated treatment room of at least 12 by 12 feet is strongly recommended for clinical operation. Call us to discuss your specific space before purchasing.
It depends entirely on your protocols. The Grand Dive Vertical (60″, seated) is right if your practice is specifically offering seated mHBOT — group wellness programming, upright-preference clients, or facilities where horizontal sessions are not the primary model. The Grand Dive Pro (46″, horizontal) is right if your clinical model centers on lying-down sessions, stretcher use, or standard horizontal HBOT protocols. Most traditional clinical protocols are horizontal — if you are building a program from scratch without a specific commitment to seated vertical sessions, the Grand Dive Pro is the more versatile starting point. Call us before purchasing either model. Getting this decision wrong is a significant cost.
Vertical chambers allow users to sit upright during sessions rather than lying flat. Some users find the seated position more comfortable for extended sessions — particularly those with mobility limitations, claustrophobia in horizontal enclosures, or a preference for upright posture. Seated vertical chambers also enable group session scheduling that single-occupant horizontal models cannot match. If your practice plans to offer group mHBOT sessions, the vertical seated orientation is what makes that logistically viable. For the majority of standard clinical HBOT protocols, horizontal positioning is conventional — if your protocols are not specifically built around seated sessions, a horizontal model is likely the more straightforward choice.
The four compressors operate as a coordinated system to pressurize the Grand Dive Vertical’s 60-inch interior to 1.3 ATA. All four units run simultaneously during pressurization and continue running throughout the session to maintain pressure and circulate fresh air. The quad configuration is necessary because a single or dual compressor cannot reliably pressurize or hold target pressure across a volume this large. Redundancy is a practical benefit: if one unit requires service, the chamber continues operating on the remaining three while a repair is arranged. All four compressors are included and run on standard 120V 15A circuits — no special electrical installation required.
After your order is confirmed and prescription is on file, we submit to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Lead time is 7–14 business days; total order-to-delivery is typically 3–5 weeks via free LTL freight to the contiguous 48 states. Residential delivery is curbside by default — the carrier schedules a delivery window. White Glove delivery (room of choice, debris removal) is available for an additional fee; call our team to arrange before your order ships. Call for Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada freight quotes.
