How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.

Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.

Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.

Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.

When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.

Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.

What does the warranty cover?

Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.

AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.

AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.

Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.

Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.

Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.

Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.

Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.

What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.

Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.

Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.

Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.

To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

Saunum Air Perfect 10: a 10 kW electric sauna heater for 318 to 565 cubic feet, with side flues instead of a ceiling flue

The larger of Saunum's two Air Perfect heaters puts 10 kW, 9,900 watts, into a compact upright body, with a built-in fan that returns heat from high in the room to below the benches.

It is the size for a larger home sauna, or a mid-size room with plenty of glass or tile, where you want the air mixing without a flue rising to the ceiling. Add the Saunum AirIQ control with it: Saunum's US distributor lists it as required for the Air Perfect, and the buy box adds it as a required row. If your heater arrives with its own AirIQ panel, we refund the control. Sauna heater financing is there if you would rather pay monthly. Browse the whole line in our Saunum sauna heaters collection.

Rooms it heats

318 to 565 cu ft

Saunum's rated range on a 240 volt supply, glass and tile counted in.

Down at the bench

Heat brought low

Its fan pulls air in high on the side flues and pushes it out under the bench.

The difference

Sits low, can recess

45.7 inches tall, and it can be set partly into a floor or bench at 7 to 31.5 inches.

Sizing the room

Sizing a sauna for the Saunum Air Perfect 10

The method is the one printed in Saunum's Air Perfect instruction manual, version 26_1.1 of January 2026: start from cubic feet, then add for every cold or uninsulated surface.

Room rules for the Air Perfect 10
Rated volume 318 to 565 cu ft, or 9 to 16 m³
Ceiling height 77 in (1960 mm) or more
Stone top to ceiling 31.5 in (800 mm) minimum
Each sq ft of glass, tile, brick, concrete or stone Plus 3.0 cu ft
Uninsulated log, plank or stave room Base volume times 1.5

Beside the bench, the 45.7 inch body leaves the ceiling clear of any flue.

Saunum's own example lands on the Air Perfect 10

The manual works a room 7 feet long, 6 wide and 8.4 high, which is 353 cubic feet. Its 24 square foot glass door adds 72 at 3.0 cubic feet each, for 425: beyond the Air Perfect 7's 350 and well inside this heater's range. Measure every cold surface, not only the door.

The overlap with the Air Perfect 7

The two sizes share the band from 318 to 350 cubic feet. Saunum's guidance for a room that sits between sizes is to go larger, for quicker warm-up and steadier temperature, which makes the 10 the pick there. Below 318 adjusted cubic feet, the Saunum Air Perfect 7 is the better match: the manual cautions that an oversized heater brings the air up to temperature before the stones are hot enough for good steam.

Under a ceiling lower than 77 inches, look at the Saunum Air L 10, which reaches the ceiling on a telescopic flue, is rated from 73 inches and covers 283 to 494 cubic feet. Beyond 565, the larger Air L sizes take over. Prefer to type in your dimensions? Our heater finder does the sums, and our sauna heater buyers guide covers the background.

The fan

What the built-in fan in the Saunum Air Perfect 10 does

Every sauna stratifies: the air under the ceiling runs far hotter than the air at your feet. The Air Perfect 10 carries its own fan to move heat back down.

Two flues run up the sides of the heater, each with an intake opening at the top. With the fan on, it draws air in through those openings, down through the body and out of the grille at the foot of the front panel. Saunum wants that outlet lower than the bottom edge of the bench and nothing standing in front of it, so the airflow passes under the seat and out across the room.

Saunum says the fan distributes the steam evenly through the sauna and brings heat down toward bench and floor level. People who like a sharp difference between the upper and lower benches may not want it running every round.

Off while it heats, on when you sit down

The manual says to keep the fan switched off during warm-up, so the room comes up to temperature sooner and the bench stays cooler. Start it just before you step in and pick one of its three speeds on the AirIQ panel; Saunum suggests beginning at the lowest temperature and airflow. Switch it off afterwards, since a fan left running in an empty room wastes power and overheats the bench.

Stones show through the top grille, and the fan's outlet is the grille at the base.

Built-in protection

If the air near the base of the heater passes 176 °F, the fan stops until it cools. A sensor cutoff above 257 °F and a limiter in the stone basket guard the heater itself.

The optional salt spheres

Saunum includes Himalayan salt spheres that seat between the fan and the outlet grille. Fitting them is optional, and other makers' spheres fall outside the warranty.

Stone load

How the stones go into the Saunum Air Perfect 10

Plan on roughly 110 to 120 pounds of rounded stone, 2 to 4 inches in diameter. None is packed with the heater; in our buy box, four 33 pound boxes of Saunum's olivine diabase ship free by parcel, apart from the heater's freight and possibly on another day.

Stacking is done by hand, never by tipping a box in. Pull the top grille up and off, take the transit padding off the elements, and build the bottom of the load from the largest stones, keeping gaps for air. Stop at the openings of the air ducts so that a stone-free gap of 6 to 8 inches remains beneath the grille, and keep stones from being wedged between or around the elements.

Refit the grille, then lay one or two layers on top, open enough for air to move through. Last, fasten the heater to the wall with its safety brackets.

Close-up of the Saunum Air Perfect 10 stone grille and stones, side view
From the side: a shallow layer on the grille, loose enough for air to move through.
Keep the side flues clear of stone.

Anything dropped down a flue lands in the fan chamber. Saunum's instruction is to remove it before the fan is ever started.

Getting the amount right

A heap over the grille starves the fan of air and pushes the heater toward overheating, and the flues' upper intake openings must stay uncovered. A thin load is the opposite fault, leaving elements on show, which the manual ties to overheating and fire risk. Restack at least yearly and replace split stones.

Making steam

Use a ladle of no more than 6 to 7 fluid ounces of hot water, poured on the stones and kept out of the flues. Saunum allows only sauna fragrance, diluted in the water, and no seawater or chlorinated water.

Site checklist

Saunum Air Perfect 10 site checklist: electrical, room and placement

Settle these with your electrician and builder while the walls are still open.

  • Its own 240 V circuitThe heater is hardwired and pulls 41.25 amps on a 240 volt single phase supply. Your licensed electrician sizes breaker and cable from the manual and the NEC
  • Not on a GFCISaunum's manual tells installers not to connect it through a GFCI breaker
  • 77 inches of ceilingPlus 31.5 inches from the stone top to the ceiling
  • Clearances3.2 inches all around the body; keep 20 inches open in front of the outlet
  • Bench heightThe outlet's top edge below the bench's bottom edge
  • Set into a floor or benchAllowed at an installation height of 7 to 31.5 inches, bottom of the heater to the surface
  • Sensor positionHigh on a wall, never over the heater, at least 20 inches from a vent, window or door
  • AirIQ control and panel positionSaunum's US distributor lists the AirIQ as required for the Air Perfect; its panel goes on a wall outside the hot room, protected from splashes
  • Supply and exhaust ventsIntake low beside or under the heater, exhaust 24 to 47 inches up, far from it
  • A finished, insulated roomThe heater goes into an insulated sauna, not a bare shell

Electricity cost

Saunum Air Perfect 10 running cost per hour, per evening and per year

Worked from the 9.9 kW rating and a rate of 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, the national residential average reported in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly, June 2026 edition.

Per hour, full output

$1.82

9.9 kilowatt hours.

Per two hour evening

$3.63

Heating up and bathing, 19.8 kilowatt hours.

Per year, three evenings weekly

$566.49

3 nights x 52 weeks: 3,088.8 kilowatt hours.

Read these as upper limits: once the room is hot, the thermostat cycles the elements to hold the set point, so a real evening uses less. Your utility bill's own rate will tighten that estimate.

In the package

Inside the Saunum Air Perfect 10 package, and what to add

The Air Perfect 10 travels in one package with its temperature sensor and cables. The AirIQ control is a separate row in the buy box, and we refund it if your heater arrives with its own AirIQ panel.

You still need

  • Sauna stones, 4 boxesSaunum olivine diabase in 33 pound boxes; add them in the buy box, free by parcel
  • Saunum AirIQ controlListed as required for the Air Perfect by Saunum's US distributor; in the buy box, refunded if the heater ships with its own panel
  • Supply cable and wiringA licensed electrician and the cable for a dedicated 240 V hookup; the package has neither

Worth considering

  • Saunum Air Perfect safety railWood and steel guard shaped for the Air Perfect, offered in the buy box
  • Outlet deflectorA curved hood for the bottom outlet, sold on its own: see the Saunum air deflector

The Saunum Air Perfect 10 sauna heater package keeps the heater, its AirIQ and four boxes of stone on one order, at the same total as buying the three.

Packed with the heater

The Air Perfect 10 runs only with Saunum's AirIQ system, so its control is the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi sauna control, which also runs the Saunum Air and Air L heaters; no other unit in our sauna heater controls fits it. You will also find this heater among our electric sauna heaters and with all our sauna heaters. Still planning the room? See our traditional saunas.

Delivery

Saunum Air Perfect 10 delivery and what to check at the curb

It travels by freight to your curb, free within the lower 48 states. The buy box gives your delivery estimate in business days, and someone needs to be there to take the shipment.

Plan ahead

At 121 pounds packed, Saunum says it is a two person carry. Arrange help for delivery day.

When the truck arrives

Look over the carton before signing. Any dent, hole or crushed edge gets photographed.

Cold weather

A heater delivered below 23 °F can trip its limiter. Bring it indoors to warm up before it is connected.

Write visible damage on the delivery receipt.

Do it before the driver goes, keep the photos, and phone us at (888) 500-5675 from the curb.

Warranty and certification

Saunum Air Perfect 10 warranty, claims and certification

Saunum's warranty on the Air Perfect 10 runs two years in a private sauna, as set out in the instruction manual packed with it.

What the warranty says
Private sauna 2 years from purchase, against defects in materials and assembly
Excluded Labor cost, the heating elements and salt spheres, wear, transport risk, faulty installation, poor ventilation
Conditions Completed installation report with the claim; connection by a qualified electrician
Business or public sauna No term in the manual that ships with it

Making a claim

Saunum repairs or replaces the faulty part, or the heater, through its recommended repair partners, and decides which. In the US, claims go to Bathing Brands, Saunum's distributor, and its Saunum technical support; call us and we connect you. The claim must carry the installation report your electrician fills in, so file it safely on install day. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying the Air Perfect 10 for a gym, spa or rental; we do not sell it on any promise of commercial cover. Read the complete terms on our Saunum heater warranty page.

Certification

The Air Perfect 10 is not named on the 2023 UL certificate we hold, which lists the Air 5 and Air 7; Saunum's Air Perfect 10 manual carries the cULus mark under the same file, E525245.

FAQ

Saunum Air Perfect 10 questions, answered

Is a control included with the Saunum Air Perfect 10, or do I need to buy AirIQ?

You need the AirIQ. Saunum's US distributor lists it as required for the Air Perfect, and Saunum designs the heater to work only with its AirIQ system, so the buy box adds it to your order. If your heater arrives with its own AirIQ panel, we refund the control. The panel is mounted outside the sauna room.

Which room volumes is the Saunum Air Perfect 10 rated for?

318 to 565 cubic feet. Work out length times width times height in feet, add 3.0 cubic feet per square foot of glass, tile, brick, concrete or stone, and for an uninsulated log or plank room multiply the base volume by 1.5 first.

Should I choose the Saunum Air Perfect 10 or the Air Perfect 7?

Go by adjusted volume. From 210 to 318 cubic feet the 7 is the fit; past 350 it has to be the 10. Between 318 and 350 both are rated, and Saunum's rule for a room between sizes is to take the larger one. The 10 draws 41.25 amps against the 7's 28.75.

What circuit does the Saunum Air Perfect 10 need?

A dedicated 240 volt single phase supply for a hardwired heater rated at 41.25 amps. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual and the National Electrical Code, and Saunum's instructions rule out a GFCI breaker.

How tall must a sauna be for the Saunum Air Perfect 10?

The ceiling has to be at least 77 inches, leaving at least 31.5 inches between the top of the stones and the ceiling. The heater itself is 45.7 inches tall and can be partly recessed into a floor or bench.

How does the Saunum Air Perfect 10 differ from the Saunum Air L 10?

Same output, and both run from the Saunum AirIQ control. The Air L 10 is a tall unit whose telescopic flue reaches the ceiling, rated for 283 to 494 cubic feet from a 73 inch ceiling. The Air Perfect 10 stands 45.7 inches with side flues and covers 318 to 565 cubic feet from 77 inches.

How long does the Saunum Air Perfect 10 take to warm up?

Saunum quotes 45 to 90 minutes in a properly insulated room within the heater's rated volume. The manual asks you to keep the fan switched off until then.

How many stones does the Saunum Air Perfect 10 need, and are they included?

About 110 to 120 pounds of rounded stone, 2 to 4 inches across, and they are not in the heater's package. Four 33 pound boxes of Saunum olivine diabase are in our buy box; they ship free by parcel and can arrive on a different day from the heater.

What is covered by the Saunum Air Perfect 10 warranty?

Defects in materials and assembly for two years in a private sauna, repaired or replaced at Saunum's choice. Labor, elements and salt spheres are not covered, the installation report must go with any claim, and the manual that ships with it gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental. We will email you the manual on request.

Is the fan on the Saunum Air Perfect 10 loud?

Saunum's manual says a running fan always makes some sound, and it gives no decibel figure. The fan has three speeds on the AirIQ panel and a lower speed is quieter. An uneven or metallic noise, the manual says, means the fan needs checking.
