How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free freight to the lower 48. Your order ships on a strapped pallet by insured LTL freight from the manufacturer's California warehouse.
When it ships. Orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days depending on the brand, and delivery to most addresses in the contiguous US takes 5 to 14 business days after shipment. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.
How you will know. You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. Most carriers then call 24 to 48 hours ahead to lock in a four hour window, and some send an email or text the morning of delivery instead. Respond promptly either way, because missed attempts trigger terminal storage fees.
How it arrives. A 53 foot semi truck arrives at your curbside and the driver delivers the pallet to the curb. Liftgate service is not included as standard, and standard delivery does not include bringing the equipment inside, up stairs, or unpacking. Someone must be present to sign.
If it arrives damaged. Walk around the pallet and check every box before signing the Bill of Lading. Cosmetic damage can be accepted, but if a carton is punctured or crushed, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. Once the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading we can file a valid freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost to you. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier, and claims filed after one are routinely denied. If you refuse for a reason other than damage, or without contacting us first, return freight costs may become your responsibility.
Where it ships. Free freight covers standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 states. Hawaii, Alaska and Canada are not available at standard checkout, so contact us before ordering for a freight quote.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
How long. Cold plunge tubs carry a 1-year limited warranty, when bought from an authorized dealer in undamaged original packaging.
What is covered. Defects in materials and workmanship. The polycarbonate insert, the wooden shell and trim and all other components each carry 1 year, and chillers carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty. Insulated covers carry 1 year, neoprene hose covers 90 days, and replacement filters are consumables with no warranty.
Labor. Any labor cost associated with a claim is not covered. Coverage applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
What you have to do. Keep the water balanced and do not let it freeze. Corrosion from poor water maintenance and freeze damage are the two most common reasons a claim is declined. Keep your proof of purchase.
What is not covered. Fading or discoloration from UV exposure, damage from storage in below-freezing temperatures, and corrosion or discoloration caused by lack of water maintenance.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. The item must come back new, unused and in its original packaging with all components, hardware and accessories. Anything assembled, used or modified cannot be returned, and electronic components such as power supplies and control panels are non returnable under manufacturer policy regardless of condition.
What a return costs. The manufacturer may charge a 20 percent restocking fee, and you are responsible for the return freight. The original shipping cost is not deducted from your refund. Any storage or carrier routing fees incurred during the return are the buyer's responsibility.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and you are fully protected. If you accepted the delivery and documented the damage on the Bill of Lading, we handle the freight claim and ship a replacement at no cost, with no restocking fee and no return shipping.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee as long as we have not yet submitted your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
To start a return. Email your order number to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com and we issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number within one business day. Write it clearly on every box, because the warehouse will not accept returns without it. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of inspection.

What the Oval Barrel Does Well

The Dynamic Cold Therapy product guide describes the oval as a more compact footprint with lower water use, and says the narrow design makes indoor installation easier. Its bench is 7 inches high, 27 inches wide and up to 16 inches deep, against 38 inches wide in the round barrel. At 35 inches tall the rim sits about 4.5 inches lower than the 39.5 inch round barrel, and an entry step is included.

The Pacific Cedar exterior is the same species used on the round barrel: naturally rot-resistant, aromatic, and suited for indoor/outdoor installation. The oval barrel comes in two finish options, green and grey, both under the same SKU. Mention your color preference when ordering, or contact our team at (888) 500‑5675 before placing your order.

The oval barrel’s 3/4” inlet and outlet fittings connect directly to DCT’s chiller lineup. At 105 to 125 gallons the oval holds less water than the round barrel’s 120 to 145, so a chiller has less to pull down. The integrated ergonomic seat is built into the tub interior.

Free Freight Shipping, Contiguous 48 States
The Oval Barrel ships via LTL freight carrier at no charge. Curbside delivery on a pallet to the contiguous 48 states. Typical transit is 5 to 14 business days after the order is processed and ships.
Dynamic Cold Therapy does not publish an empty weight for the oval, and its setup guide allows 300 to 450 pounds for tub and chiller, so plan on two people to move it. The 50-inch length and horizontal oval shape make hallway and doorway clearance important to check before delivery. Place it on a level, solid surface. At 105 to 125 gallons the water alone is about 875 to 1,040 pounds, and the setup guide allows 300 to 450 pounds for tub and chiller on top of that.
The tub manual has no assembly steps. Place it, fill with water, and connect the chiller hoses hand tight. At 105 to 125 gallons it fills faster than the 120 to 145 gallon round barrel.
Cedar Oval Barrel vs. Cedar Barrel (SS)
| Feature | Cedar Oval Barrel, This Product | Cedar Barrel (SS) |
|---|---|---|
| Interior Material | PVC Liner | 304 Stainless Steel |
| Capacity | 105 to 125 gallons | 120 to 145 gallons |
| Shape | Oval horizontal | Round upright |
| Exterior Height | 35” | 39.5” |
| Diameter / Length | 50”L × 30”W | 42” diameter |
| Filtration Included | No, ozone comes with a chiller | No, ozone comes with a chiller |
| Entry Step | Yes, entry step included | Yes, cedar step included |
| Best For | Smaller footprint, less water | More water, stainless interior |
Honest take: The round stainless barrel holds 120 to 145 gallons against the oval’s 105 to 125, with a bench 38 inches wide against 27, and a stainless interior rather than PVC. Neither tub includes filtration; that comes with a chiller. The oval’s rim sits about 4.5 inches lower and it takes less floor space.
DCT Pacific Cedar Oval Barrel FAQ
What is the difference between the Oval Barrel and the Cedar Barrel with SS interior?
The Cedar Barrel (SS) is a round, upright tub with a 304 stainless steel interior, 120 to 145 gallon capacity, and no built-in filtration; ozone comes with a chiller. It stands 39.5″ tall and includes a cedar entry step. The Oval Barrel is elongated and horizontal: 50″L × 30″W × 35″H, holding 105 to 125 gallons, with a bench 27 inches wide. Its PVC liner interior is solid and functional, but does not carry the corrosion resistance or ease-of-maintenance of stainless steel. The Oval Barrel does not include filtration; the filter and ozone come with the chiller. The Oval Barrel costs meaningfully less, has a lower entry height, and is the right choice if your priority is a smaller footprint, faster cooldown, or budget.
Which chiller pairs with the Oval Barrel?
Dynamic Cold Therapy says every DCT chiller works with every DCT cold plunge. The oval holds 105 to 125 gallons against the round barrel’s 120 to 145, so a chiller has less water to pull down. We stock the 0.8 HP and 1.0 HP in both the Premier and the SY-PRO series. If you’re planning an outdoor setup in a warm climate or want faster pull-down, the 1.0 HP is also compatible. Call us to confirm: (888) 500‑5675.
How do I choose between the green and grey color options?
Both colors are the same SKU (DCT-BO-50-PLPC-34). They are color variants of the same tub, not separate products. Grey is the more versatile finish: it pairs cleanly with stone, concrete, and neutral outdoor furniture. Green reads as more naturalistic and fits well alongside garden or wooded outdoor settings. Mention your color preference when ordering, or contact our team at (888) 500‑5675 before placing your order to confirm current availability.
Can the Oval Barrel be used outdoors?
Yes. Pacific Cedar handles outdoor weather well and is naturally rot resistant. At 35″ tall, the Oval Barrel has a lower profile than the round barrel and is a good fit for covered outdoor spaces, patios, or decks. Keep the cover on when not in use to preserve water temperature and cleanliness. In climates with sustained temperatures below 32°F, drain the barrel before hard freezes or run a chiller at a non-freezing setpoint. Do not allow the water to freeze in the tub. The manual says not to store or use it below 32°F, and excludes freeze damage.
Does the oval barrel include filtration or sanitation?
No. The Oval Barrel does not include a built in filtration or sanitation system. Ozone sanitation is available when the oval barrel is paired with a DCT chiller, which includes an ozone generator. Without a chiller, water maintenance means either frequent drain and refill or treating the water. The tub manual says to replace the water every 3 to 5 days without filtration and to use pool chemicals such as chlorine sparingly, and the Dynamic Cold Therapy FAQ advises against bromine, which it calls especially corrosive to its tubs and chillers. At 105 to 125 gallons a drain, rinse and refill is quicker than on the round barrel, which holds 120 to 145.
Is the warranty valid when purchased from Recovery Room Direct?
Yes. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized Dynamic Cold Therapy dealer. Every tub we sell is new, sourced directly from DCT, and carries the 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty runs from the original purchase date and is non-transferable. For warranty service or questions, call our team: (888) 500‑5675, Mon to Sat, 9am to 6pm ET.
