How does delivery work?

Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.

Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.

Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.

Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.

When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.

If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.

Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.

What does the warranty cover?

Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.

AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.

AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.

Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.

Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.

Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.

Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.

What if I need to return it?

30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.

Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.

What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.

Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.

Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.

Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.

To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer

The Saunum AirSolo Wall: an in-wall fan unit that moves ceiling heat down to bench level, built into the sauna as it is lined

The AirSolo Wall is a sauna climate unit with no heating element, built to sit inside the wall behind the lining boards. Its fan pulls the hottest air in at the ceiling and lets it out through a grille near the floor, beside the electric heater you already run.

It is the AirSolo for a sauna that is being built or re-lined. Instead of hanging on the face of the wall, the duct goes into the wall and the boards are fixed over it, so the room shows a top intake grille and a low outlet base. Its height telescopes to suit the ceiling, and you switch it from outside the room. Saunum, based in Tallinn, Estonia, makes it; the rest of its line is in our Saunum sauna heaters collection.

Keep the heater

Adds airflow only

It runs beside your existing electric heater and puts no heat of its own into the room.

For the lower benches

Ceiling air, low

Its fan carries air from up at the ceiling down to floor level, on three airflow settings.

Inside the wall

66.5 to 90.6 in

Height adjusts to the ceiling, and the switch goes outside the sauna.

Watch

Preparing the wall cavity, fixing the base module to the flue, the salt sphere tray, then the finished wall.

In this install the stainless body sits inside the wall, so only the base module shows. It is an installer's film with captions on screen and no narration. The wiring belongs to a licensed electrician, and the manual that ships with your unit is the reference. The aroma bowl you see in the tray comes with Saunum's aroma oil set, sold separately.

Fit

Will the Saunum AirSolo Wall fit your sauna?

Saunum gives the AirSolo Wall no room size rating. Three things decide it: a wall you can open or are still building, the ceiling height, and a spot outside the room for the switch.

AirSolo Wall sizes
Overall height 66.5 to 90.6 in, set to the ceiling
Floor gap 4 in minimum, 20 in maximum
Ceilings it suits About 71 to 110 in
Width 16.7 in
Depth 8.9 in at the base; top intake 4.4 to 6.9 in
Lower hanging strip 33 in or more off the floor

The AirSolo Wall at full height. The telescoping upper section is what lets it meet the ceiling.

Setting the height

The upper part of the duct slides, so the overall length runs from 66.5 to 90.6 inches. Saunum's Wall drawing measures it "according to the ceiling height" and keeps its base between 4 and 20 inches above the floor; 4 inches is the minimum so water on the floor stays clear of the wiring. Put those together and a ceiling from roughly 71 to 110 inches is covered.

Why it suits a build or a re-line

Saunum's instructions put this model behind the inner lining: the lining boards are fixed to the sheet metal face of its air duct with clamps, and any openings left exposed are sealed with aluminum tape before it runs. In a finished room, boards have to come off where it goes. If yours is finished and you would rather not open it, the hang-on AirSolo in the comparison below goes up on the existing boards.

The room around it

The heater still carries the whole heating load and has to suit the room on its own; our sauna heater finder sizes one. The unit's outlet must not blow toward the heater, nobody should sit closer than 20 inches to it, and no shower head or water spray may sit above it.

The airflow

How the Saunum AirSolo Wall circulates sauna air

Heat collects at the ceiling. The AirSolo Wall draws that air through its intake grille, runs it down inside the wall and discharges it low into the room.

The path the air takes

At the top, the intake grille sits near the ceiling where the air is hottest. A fan in the base, which Saunum calls the heat equalizing module, pulls that air down the duct and pushes it out of the lower grille. Saunum describes the result as the upper and lower layers of air being brought closer to one temperature during a session.

Airflow and the cooling valve

A separate switch, mounted outside the sauna, gives three airflow settings. On the base, a cool air intake valve lets you temper the air leaving the unit: Saunum suggests starting at a third open and opening it in small steps to cool the steam.

The outlet base, with the salt spheres visible behind the grille.

When it runs

The manual is specific: the unit goes on immediately before you enter and off immediately after, and stays off through heat-up and the breaks between rounds. Left running with nobody inside, it pushes heat low until the bench and floor get too hot, and it wastes energy. A thermal cut-out stops the fan if the air at the lower part of the unit goes over 176 °F, and restarts it once things cool.

The salt tray is your choice

A tray behind the outlet grille holds seven Himalayan salt spheres, which come with the unit. Using them is optional and does not change what the fan does. Saunum's manual cautions that salt and humidity can put a layer of rust on metal heater surfaces.

Before you order

Saunum AirSolo Wall: a checklist for your builder and electrician

An in-wall unit is easiest when it is planned with the wall itself.

  • Ceiling heightInside about 71 to 110 inches, measured where the unit goes
  • The wall openingA section you can build into or open up, with lining boards to fix over the duct and aluminum tape for any gaps
  • Switch locationOutside the sauna and any washing room, ideally in the changing room beside the door
  • A 120 volt feed of its ownHardwired by a qualified electrician with a 1 A overcurrent device and GFCI protection. Saunum's heaters must never be on a GFCI, so keep this apart from the heater circuit
  • Your heaterElectric, and sized for the room without help. Saunum's manual bars running the room above the allowed temperature with the unit in use
  • VentilationWorking sauna intake and exhaust vents, which the manual asks for and the unit does not replace

What you get

What arrives with the Saunum AirSolo Wall

The unit ships with its intake grille, outlet base, outside switch and hanging strips. The wiring and the wall work are yours to arrange.

Required before it runs

Delivery

Saunum AirSolo Wall delivery

It travels free by parcel carrier, so no freight truck or delivery window to arrange. Your estimated arrival, in business days, is in the buy box.

On arrival

A long carton. Keep it somewhere dry with nothing heavy stacked on it, per Saunum's manual; two people make the carry easier.

Unpacking

Look over the duct, the glass module and the base, and check the switch and strips are there.

Before the wall closes

Saunum forbids using a damaged unit, and once the boards go on it is hard to get at.

Report damage within 48 hours of delivery. Take photos of the unit and the box, hold on to the packaging and call (888) 500-5675 before anything is built in.

Buyer questions

Saunum AirSolo Wall questions and answers

Is the Saunum AirSolo Wall a sauna heater?

No. The AirSolo Wall contains a fan and no heating element. It circulates heat your electric heater has already made, moving it from the ceiling down toward the floor, so the heater must be big enough for the room by itself.

Can the Saunum AirSolo Wall go into a sauna that is already finished?

Only if you are willing to open the wall. Saunum's instructions fix the lining boards to the front of the unit's duct, so it is built in behind the boards. For a finished room you would rather leave alone, the hang-on AirSolo 70 or 80 mounts on the existing wall.

Where is the Saunum AirSolo Wall switched on and off?

At a separate switch outside the sauna and any washing room, ideally in the changing room next to the door. It offers three airflow settings. Turn it on just before you go in and off as soon as you come out.

What ceiling heights does the Saunum AirSolo Wall suit?

Its height adjusts from 66.5 to 90.6 inches, and Saunum's drawing keeps the bottom 4 to 20 inches above the floor. By that arithmetic it covers ceilings from about 71 to about 110 inches.

Which heaters can the Saunum AirSolo Wall be used with?

We sell it to run beside an electric sauna heater. Saunum's manual refers to wood-burning heaters only in a caution against running any heater above the allowed temperature with the unit operating, citing overheating and fire risk. For a wood-fired room, check with us before you buy.

What power supply does the Saunum AirSolo Wall need?

A hardwired 120 volt connection drawing 0.31 A, protected by a 1 A overcurrent device and a GFCI, installed by a qualified electrician. Because Saunum's own heaters are never put on a GFCI, the AirSolo Wall gets its own protected feed.

Is the Saunum AirSolo Wall controlled by the Saunum AirIQ?

No. Its own outside switch runs it, independent of the heater and its control. The Saunum AirIQ heater control is for Saunum's Air, Air L and Air Perfect heaters.

Does the Saunum AirSolo Wall replace sauna ventilation?

No. It recirculates the room's own air and moves no fresh air in or out. Saunum's manual calls for proper ventilation, and damage from poor ventilation is outside the warranty.

How long is the Saunum AirSolo Wall warranty?

Two years for a home sauna and one year for a commercial sauna, counted from purchase. Saunum's repair partners fix or replace defective units without charging for labor or spare parts, as long as the signed installation report accompanies the claim.

How does the Saunum AirSolo Wall ship?

By parcel carrier, free within the lower 48, so there is no truck appointment. The buy box shows the estimate in business days. Inspect it on arrival and tell us about damage within 48 hours, with photographs.
