How does delivery work?
Free ground shipping to the lower 48. Orders above the free shipping minimum ship free within the contiguous US by insured ground carrier. Smaller orders ship for a flat rate, and the exact figures are on the full policy below. Expedited and overnight options are available at checkout.
When it arrives. Orders are typically processed within 1 to 4 business days, and standard ground delivery takes 4 to 6 additional business days. You get a tracking number by email when your order ships. Transit times are carrier estimates.
How it arrives. Products ship in factory sealed packaging, and no delivery appointment is required; standard devices are left at the door, and larger items such as the JetBoots PRO Plus or Therabody Lounger may require a signature.
If it arrives damaged. Photograph the shipping box before opening, then photograph any damage inside and email the photos to us within 48 hours of delivery. We file the carrier claim and send a replacement or issue a full refund, your choice. Later reports cannot be guaranteed.
Where it ships. Hawaii, Alaska and US territories may be subject to additional shipping charges, so contact us before ordering. International shipping is not currently available.

How long. Coverage begins on delivery to the original purchaser. Devices are covered for 1 year, which is every Therabody product we sell. Attachments and accessories are covered for 90 days, which Therabody defines as exclusively charging cables, removable components of the devices, adapters, carrying cases and charging stands. Anything not on that list is covered as a device.
What is covered. Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Therabody replaces products that prove defective during the warranty period. The remedy is replacement, not a refund, and a replacement continues the original warranty period rather than restarting it.
What is not. Purchases from unauthorized resellers, misuse or accident, liquid contact, cosmetic damage, normal wear, and unauthorized repairs. Consumable parts such as batteries and protective coatings are not covered, unless the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship.
Buying here. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized Therabody retailer, so purchases here are warranty-eligible.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. The device must come back in like new condition in its original packaging, with all accessories, attachments, charging cables, carrying cases and documentation. Anything missing components, showing signs of use, or damaged cannot be returned.
What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may apply. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend a trackable, insured carrier.
Non-returnable. Open box sale items are final sale, personalized or engraved devices cannot be returned, and individual accessories, attachments and replacement heads bought separately are non returnable under manufacturer policy.
Cancelling before it ships. Contact us as soon as possible. A cancellation before the order leaves the warehouse avoids all charges.
Warranty claims go straight to Therabody. Warranty claims are handled directly by Therabody rather than through us. Every Therabody device includes a 1 year limited warranty, and accessories and attachments are typically covered for 90 days. Claims are submitted directly to Therabody at returns.therabody.com, and full coverage applies because you bought from an authorized retailer.
To start a return. Email your order number and we issue a Return Merchandise Authorization number within one business day. Write it clearly on the outside of the package, because returns without a valid RMA will not be accepted. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of the return being received and inspected.

What does near-infrared LED therapy actually do for my back?
Near-infrared LED light is delivered at a wavelength that penetrates tissue to support cellular recovery at the treatment site. In the ThermBack LED, it’s concentrated on the lower lumbar spine and delivers 10–12 J/cm² of energy per 20-minute session. Research suggests this level of energy delivery may support recovery in musculoskeletal tissue. Therabody does not publish a specific nanometer wavelength for this device — it’s described as near-infrared LED.
How long is each session? Can I use it longer than 20 minutes?
In battery mode, the device has a 20-minute auto-shutoff for heat and vibration, and a 10-minute auto-shutoff for the LED. When plugged in via USB-C (corded mode), the auto-shutoff is removed entirely — you can use it for as long as you need. The 3-hour battery supports multiple standard sessions before needing a recharge.
Is the ThermBack LED FDA approved?
The ThermBack LED is FDA Registered, which means Therabody has registered the device with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer. FDA Registered is not the same as FDA Cleared or FDA Approved — it is a registration, not a clinical clearance for a specific medical indication.
