Runs on ambient air. No oxygen concentrator required.
Details

The chamber pressurises with ordinary room air, using the electric compressor supplied with it. Everything needed to run a session ships with the chamber.

Some retailers list an oxygen concentrator as required. That describes a separate accessory some owners choose to add, not a condition of operating this chamber. Speak with your physician before considering any supplemental oxygen arrangement.

Prescription needed for home delivery, and we help you arrange one after you order.
How ordering works

Summit to Sea chambers are FDA cleared prescription devices. A physician's prescription is required for delivery to a home. If the chamber is going to a clinic or practice with a licensed practitioner on site, a prescription is not needed.

You can order today. We collect the prescription after your order and before your chamber ships. Email it to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com, or call (888) 500-5675 and we can point you to a telehealth provider.

If you are unable to obtain one before your chamber ships, we cancel the order and refund you in full.

How does delivery work?

A prescription is required before it ships. Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices, so a valid physician's prescription is needed for your order to ship. Email it to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com after placing your order. If we have not received one within 30 days we cancel the order and refund you, less the payment processing fee our card provider does not return to us. You can cancel earlier on the same terms.

Free freight to the lower 48. Your chamber ships free by freight to any address in the contiguous 48 states. Delivery is curbside and liftgate service is not included as standard, so call us before you order if you need one.

When it ships. Once your prescription is confirmed, your order is submitted to Summit to Sea within 2 to 3 business days and ships directly from their facility. Transit is typically 7 to 10 business days after shipment, and you get tracking once the carrier picks it up. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.

How it arrives. Chambers ship as oversized freight on a pallet. The carrier contacts you to schedule an appointment before the truck arrives, so respond promptly: missed attempts can result in storage fees charged to you. The driver delivers to the curb and will not bring it inside or assist with installation, so have help available.

If it arrives damaged. Walk around the shipment and check all boxes before signing. Cosmetic damage can be accepted, but if a carton is punctured or crushed, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading, ask the driver to initial it, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. Once the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading we can file a valid freight claim and arrange a replacement at no cost to you. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier from all damage claims, and refusing for a reason other than damage, or without contacting us first, can make return freight your responsibility.

Where it ships. Alaska, Hawaii and outside the contiguous states are not available at standard checkout. Call (888) 500-5675 for a custom freight quote.

What does the warranty cover?

How long. Summit to Sea warrants its chambers and accessories against defects for 2 years from your delivery date, covering both parts and labor.

What is covered. All components of the chamber system, including zipper, windows, seams, valves and hoses. Summit to Sea repairs or replaces the item at its discretion.

What is not. Damage from misuse or unauthorized modification.

Freight. Shipping to and from the manufacturer for warranty service is the customer's responsibility.

Extended coverage. Available in 1, 2 or 3 additional years, with the same all-component coverage. You can add it on the chamber's product page when you order, or any time within the 2-year period.

Read the full Summit to Sea Warranty Policy

What if I need to return it?

15 days from delivery. This window is shorter than most of what we carry. The chamber must be unused, uninflated and in the same condition you received it, including all original packaging, components, compressors and accessories. A Class II medical device that has been assembled, inflated or used is not eligible for return.

What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund, and return freight is your responsibility. Hyperbaric chambers are large, heavy freight, so that cost is significant. The original shipping is not deducted from your refund.

If we do not receive your prescription. Your order cannot ship until a valid prescription is on file. If we have not received one within 30 days of your order, we cancel it and refund you.

Cancelling before it ships. Before we submit your order to Summit to Sea there is no fee. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.

Your prescription, and your privacy. We keep the prescription you send us only to document that your order was properly authorized. We do not use it for marketing and we do not share it. Email us if you would like it deleted and we will confirm once it is removed.

Warranty. Every Summit to Sea chamber carries a 2 year manufacturer's warranty covering all components, including the compressor, electronics, zipper, windows, seams, valves and hoses. We coordinate warranty claims for you.

To start a return. Email or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase, and do not ship anything back without prior written authorization. An approved refund is issued within 5 to 7 business days of inspection.

What Every Buyer Should Know Before Adding to Cart

We would rather help you make a great decision than close a sale quickly. The Dive is a significant investment, and it comes with logistics that differ from most online purchases.

Prescription Required (Residential)

Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices. Residential delivery requires a valid physician’s prescription on file before we can submit your order to Summit to Sea for fulfillment.

Freight Shipping — 4 to 8 Weeks

The Dive ships via LTL freight, free to the contiguous 48 states. After your prescription is confirmed and submitted, expect 3–5 weeks from order to delivery. This is not an expedited product category.

Room Requirements

Fully inflated, The Dive is 90 inches long and 33 inches in diameter. Plan for at least 7.5 feet of clear floor space plus access clearance on both ends.

If you have questions about the prescription process, room setup, or whether hyperbaric sessions are appropriate for your situation, our advisors are available seven days a week. Financing is available at checkout. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is listed as eligible on published administrator lists, some of which require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Those entries describe the therapy rather than the purchase of a home chamber, so confirm with your plan administrator before you buy. We do not accept HSA or FSA cards at checkout. See how HSA and FSA reimbursement works here.

What Is Mild HBOT?

The Science Behind Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA

A hyperbaric chamber creates a pressurized environment above normal atmospheric pressure. At 1.3 ATA — the pressure found roughly 11 feet below sea level — more oxygen dissolves into blood plasma than at sea level. This is a physical property of gas and pressure, not a medical claim.

How Pressurization Works

The Dive uses two compressors to gradually inflate its nylon shell and raise internal pressure to 1.3 ATA. You breathe ambient air throughout — no oxygen mask, no oxygen concentrator required. Pressure builds over 5–10 minutes; most sessions run 60–90 minutes, then decompress gradually.

Prescription Required

Hyperbaric chambers are Class II medical devices, and federal law restricts their sale to by or on the order of a physician. We’ll need a valid prescription on file before your chamber ships — our team walks you through it, and we can connect you with a telehealth provider if you don’t have one.

Buying for a clinic or practice? Your order simply needs to be placed by, or under the direction of, a licensed practitioner.

Soft-shell hyperbaric chambers are cleared for acute altitude sickness. Any other use — including general wellness and athletic recovery — is off-label. Talk to your physician about your intended use.

Who Incorporates Hyperbaric Sessions

Professional athletes, physical therapists, wellness centers, and individuals committed to personal health routines use hyperbaric chambers as part of their regular regimens. Many professional sports organizations maintain hyperbaric chambers in their training facilities. Hospitals and licensed clinics may operate chambers commercially without patient prescriptions.

Ongoing Research

Academic and clinical research on mild HBOT (mHBOT) is ongoing across several areas. This research is exploratory; Summit to Sea chambers are not cleared to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease condition other than altitude sickness. Consult your physician to determine whether hyperbaric use is appropriate for your situation.

Prescription Required (Residential Delivery): Because Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices, a physician's prescription must be on file before your order ships to a home address. Commercial and clinical deliveries do not require a patient prescription. We guide you through the process — see the ordering section below for next steps.
What Makes The Dive Different

Summit to Sea The Dive — Key Features

The Dive earns its place as Summit to Sea's most popular model by hitting the balance most home users want: enough interior volume for genuine comfort, without requiring a dedicated clinical room.

The Dive 33-inch interior diameter
33" Interior Diameter — The Comfort Sweet Spot

Seven inches wider than the Shallow Dive changes the experience meaningfully. At 33 inches, most adults can shift their arm, bend one knee slightly, or turn a quarter-turn without touching the wall. It is wide enough to read, use a tablet, or simply rest without feeling confined throughout a 60-to-90-minute session.

The Dive full 90-inch length
Full 90" Length — Room to Lie Fully Extended

At 90 inches (7.5 feet), The Dive accommodates users over six feet three inches lying fully extended. Most chambers at this price point compromise on length to reduce material costs — The Dive does not. The extra length also creates additional air volume inside, contributing to a less enclosed feel during pressurized sessions.

The Dive translucent nylon shell — deflated and packed
Translucent Shell — Sessions Stay Open, Not Claustrophobic

The urethane-coated nylon shell is semi-transparent, allowing natural light through from all sides. You can see your surroundings, check a clock on the wall, or maintain visual contact with someone in the room. The visual openness addresses one of the most common concerns first-time chamber users bring to our pre-sales calls.

2×
Compressors
Dual Compressor System — Consistent Pressurization

Two compressors work together to pressurize the chamber, reach target pressure faster, and maintain stable 1.3 ATA throughout your session. Summit to Sea's dual compressor configuration also provides redundancy — if one compressor needs service, sessions are not interrupted. Sound suppression is standard on both units.

24
Mo. Warranty
2-Year Full Warranty — Chamber and Compressors

Summit to Sea's two-year warranty covers all components — the chamber shell, zippers, valves, compressors, and accessories. This is one of the strongest warranties in the portable hyperbaric category. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized dealer, meaning your warranty is registered directly with Summit to Sea from purchase.

120V
Standard
Standard 120V Outlet — No Special Electrical

The Dive runs on a standard 120V 15-amp household outlet. No electrician, no dedicated circuit, no installation. Set it up in a bedroom, home gym, wellness room, or office — anywhere with a standard wall outlet and enough floor space. The compressors and chamber fold into carry bags when not in use.

Using Your Chamber

The Dive Hyperbaric Chamber — Session Protocol, Start to Finish

Summit to Sea chambers are designed for straightforward independent use. This protocol is sourced directly from the official Summit to Sea user manual.

01
Before You Enter
  • Clear adequate floor space with access clearance on both ends of the chamber
  • Confirm both compressors are plugged into the appropriate outlet
  • Confirm the red deflation valve is fully closed before pressurization
  • Bring water inside — drinking during inflation helps equalize ear pressure
  • If using with a care partner, have them assist with the external zipper. If using independently, review the solo-entry steps in the user manual before your first session
02
During Pressurization
  • Turn on both compressors — the chamber pressurizes automatically to 1.3 ATA (4.4 PSI)
  • If you feel ear pressure: pinch your nose, close your mouth, and gently exhale through your nose (Valsalva maneuver). Yawning and wide mouth movement also help. You can partially open the deflation valve to slow pressurization for greater comfort
  • The chamber is fully pressurized when the relief valves begin releasing air and your gauge reads in the blue zone
  • Leave both compressors running throughout your entire session — they maintain continuous fresh air circulation inside the chamber
03
Decompression and Exit
  • When your session is complete, turn the red deflation valve to release pressure. You control the deflation speed by how far you turn the valve
  • Wait until the chamber sides feel fully soft and your gauge reads zero before unzipping — never open zippers or unbuckle straps while the chamber is pressurized
  • Unbuckle all straps, then open both zippers to exit the chamber
  • After extended storage: run the chamber for several hours before your first session to clear any odors that may have collected, per the Summit to Sea manual

Always read the complete Summit to Sea user manual before your first session. Questions about session frequency or duration should be discussed with the physician who issued your prescription.

Who It's Built For

Who Uses the Summit to Sea The Dive Hyperbaric Chamber?

The Dive is not the largest Summit to Sea chamber, and it is not the smallest. It sits at the model most buyers land on after comparing the full line — and for good reason. It fits the majority of serious home users.

The Home Wellness Investor

You have researched hyperbaric chambers for months. You have tried clinic sessions and know the scheduling friction is real. You want on-demand access — sessions when you want them, for as long as you want, without booking. The Dive gives you a home chamber at the most popular interior size for that daily routine.

Daily Home Use
The Performance-Focused Athlete

You train seriously — whether that is competitive sports, endurance events, or dedicated strength work. Your training team or physician has suggested exploring hyperbaric sessions as part of your broader recovery and performance support stack. You want a chamber that fits a dedicated athlete's use pattern, not a clinical waiting room.

Athletic Performance Support
The Small Clinic or Wellness Practice

You run a physical therapy practice, integrative medicine office, or wellness center. You want to add a hyperbaric option for clients without the commercial footprint of an 8.5-foot clinical chamber. The Dive is sized for one dedicated session room and fits your professional workflow. Commercial orders do not require a patient prescription.

Clinical / Professional Use
Owning vs. Clinic Access

Home Chamber vs. Hyperbaric Clinic

This is not a medical comparison — it is a practical one. Here is what changes when the chamber is in your home.

Hyperbaric Therapy Clinic
  • Book and travel to appointments
  • Schedule-dependent session access
  • Per-session billing accumulates over time
  • Session frequency limited by availability
  • No control over equipment or environment
The Dive at Home
  • Session on demand — morning, night, whenever
  • No appointments, no travel, no scheduling
  • Fixed one-time investment
  • Session frequency limited only by your schedule
  • Your equipment, your environment, your routine
Summit to Sea Model Comparison

How The Dive Fits the Full Summit to Sea Line

Summit to Sea makes horizontal chambers from 26" to 60" interior diameter. The Dive is the middle of the personal-use range — wider than the Shallow Dive for solo sessions, smaller than the Grand Dive for those who want maximum space.

Honest Take: The Dive is the model most users end up choosing when they compare the full Summit to Sea line side-by-side. The Shallow Dive is more affordable and compact, but the 26" interior is noticeably tighter for anything beyond a short session. The Grand Dive offers more room, but most solo users don't need 40 inches for a daily personal chamber. The Dive is the practical center — and it's Summit to Sea's bestselling model for that reason. If you're unsure, this is the one to start with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Summit to Sea The Dive — Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need a prescription to buy The Dive?

Yes — for residential delivery. Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices and require a valid physician's prescription before shipping to a home address. This is a Summit to Sea policy enforced on all authorized dealers, including Recovery Room Direct. A licensed physician — including telehealth providers — can issue the prescription. If you don't have a physician contact ready, call us at (888) 500-5675 and we will connect you with a telehealth provider who can evaluate your situation and issue an appropriate prescription if warranted. Commercial addresses (clinics, PT practices, hospitals) do not require a patient prescription.

What is the real difference between the 26" Shallow Dive and the 33" Dive?

Seven inches of interior diameter is a more significant difference than it sounds. The Shallow Dive (26") fits most people but leaves minimal side clearance — you can lie flat, but shifting position, bending your knees, or resting an arm to the side means touching the wall. The Dive at 33" gives you enough space to shift position, adjust during a session, and use a tablet or book without brushing the shell. For users planning regular 60-to-90-minute sessions, that added room meaningfully changes how the session feels. If budget is the primary constraint, the Shallow Dive is a solid choice. If you expect to use the chamber frequently, the 33" is worth the upgrade.

How long does a typical session last and what do I do inside?

Most users run sessions between 60 and 90 minutes. Pressurization takes 5–10 minutes at the start, and decompression takes a similar amount of time at the end. During the pressurized portion, users typically read, listen to audio, watch a device screen, or rest. You breathe normally — no oxygen mask, no specialized breathing equipment. The chamber is warm inside (pressure generates modest heat), so light clothing is typical. Summit to Sea recommends consulting your physician on session frequency and duration for your specific situation.

What conditions or situations make hyperbaric sessions inadvisable?

Summit to Sea chambers require a physician's evaluation before purchase for this reason. Known contraindications in the broader hyperbaric literature include untreated pneumothorax, certain lung conditions, active respiratory infection, recent ear surgery, and pregnancy, among others. This is not an exhaustive clinical list, and individual circumstances vary significantly. Do not self-prescribe or self-determine whether hyperbaric use is appropriate for you — that is exactly what the physician consultation process is designed to address. Your prescribing physician will evaluate your specific health history before issuing the prescription.

How long does setup take, and can the chamber be moved between rooms?

Initial setup typically takes 30–45 minutes for first-time users reviewing the manual. Once you have done it a few times, setup takes around 10–15 minutes. The chamber inflates from its deflated/packed state using the compressors — no manual pumping required. The Dive deflates and packs into its carry bags, making it portable between rooms or locations. The compressors and packed chamber fit easily through a standard doorway.

What is the delivery process and how long does it take?

The Dive ships via free LTL freight to the contiguous 48 states. After your order is confirmed and your prescription is on file, we submit to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Lead time from Summit to Sea is 7–14 business days. Freight delivery to residential addresses is curbside unless a Professional Setup & Assembly upgrade is arranged. Professional Setup & Assembly (room of choice, setup) is available for an additional fee — call us to arrange. Total time from order to delivery is typically 3–5 weeks depending on prescription timing and freight transit routing.

Is Recovery Room Direct an authorized Summit to Sea dealer?

Yes. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized Summit to Sea dealer. Purchasing through us means your warranty is valid and registered directly with Summit to Sea, and you have access to Summit to Sea's two-year all-components warranty from your delivery date. We are not a reseller operating outside the authorized dealer network — your purchase is fully supported, and we handle communication with Summit to Sea on your behalf throughout the ordering and warranty process.
