Details
The chamber pressurises with ordinary room air, using the electric compressor supplied with it. Everything needed to run a session ships with the chamber.
Some retailers list an oxygen concentrator as required. That describes a separate accessory some owners choose to add, not a condition of operating this chamber. Speak with your physician before considering any supplemental oxygen arrangement.
How ordering works
Summit to Sea chambers are FDA cleared prescription devices. A physician's prescription is required for delivery to a home. If the chamber is going to a clinic or practice with a licensed practitioner on site, a prescription is not needed.
You can order today. We collect the prescription after your order and before your chamber ships. Email it to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com, or call (888) 500-5675 and we can point you to a telehealth provider.
If you are unable to obtain one before your chamber ships, we cancel the order and refund you in full.

How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
A prescription is required before it ships. Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices, so a valid physician's prescription is needed for your order to ship. Email it to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com after placing your order. If we have not received one within 30 days we cancel the order and refund you, less the payment processing fee our card provider does not return to us. You can cancel earlier on the same terms.
Free freight to the lower 48. Your chamber ships free by freight to any address in the contiguous 48 states. Delivery is curbside and liftgate service is not included as standard, so call us before you order if you need one.
When it ships. Once your prescription is confirmed, your order is submitted to Summit to Sea within 2 to 3 business days and ships directly from their facility. Transit is typically 7 to 10 business days after shipment, and you get tracking once the carrier picks it up. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.
How it arrives. Chambers ship as oversized freight on a pallet. The carrier contacts you to schedule an appointment before the truck arrives, so respond promptly: missed attempts can result in storage fees charged to you. The driver delivers to the curb and will not bring it inside or assist with installation, so have help available.
If it arrives damaged. Walk around the shipment and check all boxes before signing. Cosmetic damage can be accepted, but if a carton is punctured or crushed, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there. Note the damage on the Bill of Lading, ask the driver to initial it, photograph it, and contact us within 48 hours. Once the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading we can file a valid freight claim and arrange a replacement at no cost to you. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier from all damage claims, and refusing for a reason other than damage, or without contacting us first, can make return freight your responsibility.
Where it ships. Alaska, Hawaii and outside the contiguous states are not available at standard checkout. Call (888) 500-5675 for a custom freight quote.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
How long. Summit to Sea warrants its chambers and accessories against defects for 2 years from your delivery date, covering both parts and labor.
What is covered. All components of the chamber system, including zipper, windows, seams, valves and hoses. Summit to Sea repairs or replaces the item at its discretion.
What is not. Damage from misuse or unauthorized modification.
Freight. Shipping to and from the manufacturer for warranty service is the customer's responsibility.
Extended coverage. Available in 1, 2 or 3 additional years, with the same all-component coverage. You can add it on the chamber's product page when you order, or any time within the 2-year period.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
15 days from delivery. This window is shorter than most of what we carry. The chamber must be unused, uninflated and in the same condition you received it, including all original packaging, components, compressors and accessories. A Class II medical device that has been assembled, inflated or used is not eligible for return.
What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund, and return freight is your responsibility. Hyperbaric chambers are large, heavy freight, so that cost is significant. The original shipping is not deducted from your refund.
If we do not receive your prescription. Your order cannot ship until a valid prescription is on file. If we have not received one within 30 days of your order, we cancel it and refund you.
Cancelling before it ships. Before we submit your order to Summit to Sea there is no fee. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
Your prescription, and your privacy. We keep the prescription you send us only to document that your order was properly authorized. We do not use it for marketing and we do not share it. Email us if you would like it deleted and we will confirm once it is removed.
Warranty. Every Summit to Sea chamber carries a 2 year manufacturer's warranty covering all components, including the compressor, electronics, zipper, windows, seams, valves and hoses. We coordinate warranty claims for you.
To start a return. Email or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase, and do not ship anything back without prior written authorization. An approved refund is issued within 5 to 7 business days of inspection.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Summit to Sea Grand Dive Pro Plus Short Hyperbaric Chamber — 60″ Clinical Width in a Space-Optimized 78″ Footprint

What Every Summit to Sea Grand Dive Pro Plus Short Buyer Should Know First
The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short is a significant clinical investment. Here is what buyers need to know about logistics, regulatory requirements, and room planning before deciding.
Prescription Required (Residential)
Summit to Sea chambers are Class II medical devices. Residential delivery requires a valid physician’s prescription on file. Licensed clinical facilities, hospitals, PT practices, and commercial wellness centers are exempt and can order directly.
Freight Shipping — 3 to 5 Weeks Total
The Pro Plus Short ships via LTL freight, free to the contiguous 48 states. Lead time at Summit to Sea is 7–14 business days after prescription clearance, followed by freight transit. Total time order to delivery: 3–5 weeks. No expedited option exists in this category.
Room Requirements
Fully inflated: 78 inches long, 60 inches in diameter. Plan for 6.5 feet of floor length plus 2–3 feet clearance at each end. Minimum room width of 8 feet for comfortable clinical operation. Measure your intended space before purchasing.
The Pro Plus Short is primarily purchased by clinical practices and commercial wellness facilities. Questions about room planning, the prescription process, or how this model compares to the Grand Dive Pro or full-length Pro Plus? Our advisors are available seven days a week. Financing available. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is listed as eligible on published administrator lists, some of which require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Those entries describe the therapy rather than the purchase of a home chamber, so confirm with your plan administrator before you buy. We do not accept HSA or FSA cards at checkout. See how HSA and FSA reimbursement works here.
The Science Behind Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA
Inside a hyperbaric chamber, atmospheric pressure is elevated above sea-level conditions. The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short operates at 1.3 ATA — roughly 11 feet below sea level. At this pressure, more oxygen dissolves into blood plasma than at normal atmospheric pressure, a physical property described by Henry’s Law. The chamber uses ambient air; no oxygen mask or concentrator is required.
Four compressors inflate the urethane-coated nylon shell to 1.3 ATA in approximately 5–10 minutes. The quad configuration handles the larger air volume of the 60-inch interior efficiently. Compressors run continuously throughout the session, maintaining pressure and circulating fresh air. Decompression is gradual and user-controlled via the internal deflation valve.
Hyperbaric chambers are Class II medical devices, and federal law restricts their sale to by or on the order of a physician. We’ll need a valid prescription on file before your chamber ships — our team walks you through it, and we can connect you with a telehealth provider if you don’t have one.
Buying for a clinic or practice? Your order simply needs to be placed by, or under the direction of, a licensed practitioner.
Soft-shell hyperbaric chambers are cleared for acute altitude sickness. Any other use — including general wellness and athletic recovery — is off-label. Talk to your physician about your intended use.
The Pro Plus Short is designed for clinical and commercial settings that require the 60-inch width but cannot fit a 96-inch chamber. Physical therapy practices, sports medicine clinics, integrative medicine offices, and high-volume wellness centers are the primary buyers. The 3–4 person capacity and stretcher compatibility support supervised clinical protocols. Residential buyers require a physician’s prescription.
Research on mild HBOT continues to grow but does not constitute labeled medical indications for these devices. Summit to Sea chambers are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease beyond their labeled use of acute altitude sickness. Consult a licensed physician before use.
Summit to Sea Grand Dive Pro Plus Short — Key Features and Advantages
Many practices need the maximum 60-inch interior width but cannot fit an 8-foot chamber. The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short resolves that constraint without compromising on diameter, pressure performance, or clinical build quality.
The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short shares its 60-inch interior diameter with the full-length Grand Dive Pro Plus — Summit to Sea’s widest horizontal chamber. At this diameter, a clinical stretcher fits without rotation or patient repositioning. Two adults lie side by side with clearance. A single patient has room to shift position or work with a practitioner inside the chamber. The Short delivers the defining Pro Plus specification in full.
The Pro Plus Short is 78 inches (6.5 feet) long — 18 inches shorter than the full Grand Dive Pro Plus. That length reduction is the design rationale for this chamber. Rooms that cannot fit 96 inches can fit 78, while retaining the full 60-inch width. Most adult patients fit at full extension. The shorter length is most relevant for very tall patients or side-by-side parallel use — not standard single-patient sessions.
The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short is built for commercial clinical volume. The urethane-coated nylon shell, reinforced zippers, and redundant pressure valve system handle multiple sessions daily without premature wear. The four-compressor system sustains stable pressure across high-use clinical schedules. Commercial facilities can order without a patient prescription. For practices running four to eight sessions per day in a space-constrained room, this chamber is engineered for exactly that environment.
A 60-inch chamber encloses far more air volume than a 40- or 46-inch model. Two compressors would be undersized here: longer pressurization and harder ongoing pressure maintenance. Summit to Sea’s quad-compressor configuration distributes the workload, pressurizes the larger volume efficiently, and maintains 1.3 ATA consistently. The four-unit setup also provides redundancy — a single compressor requiring service does not take the chamber offline, which matters for practices with booked daily schedules.
Sixty inches is five full feet of interior width — enough for a clinical stretcher with practitioner access alongside, two adults in parallel, or a single patient with clearance for positioning aids and monitoring equipment. Buyers choosing the Short over the full Pro Plus are making a length-for-footprint tradeoff, not a width compromise. Both models share the identical 60-inch interior. Verify your stretcher dimensions and patient size range against the 78-inch length before finalizing your choice.
Summit to Sea’s two-year warranty covers the chamber shell, zippers, pressure valves, all four compressors, and accessories. The Short carries identical warranty terms to the full-length Pro Plus. Recovery Room Direct, as an authorized dealer, files your purchase details with Summit to Sea and handles all Summit to Sea communication for any warranty claim. For practices dependent on chamber availability for a booked clinical schedule, the authorized dealer relationship provides a clear service and resolution path.

Grand Dive Pro Plus Short Hyperbaric Chamber — Session Protocol, Start to Finish
The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short is designed for straightforward clinical operation. This protocol reflects the standard Summit to Sea user manual procedure for the 60-inch Pro Plus models.
- Clear the full 78-inch chamber footprint plus at least 2–3 feet of access clearance on both ends
- Confirm all four compressors are plugged into appropriate outlets on a 120V / 15A circuit
- Confirm the red deflation valve is fully closed before beginning pressurization
- Bring water inside — drinking during pressurization helps patients equalize ear pressure
- For clinical settings with a care partner or practitioner assisting: review zipper operation and emergency deflation procedure before each session day
- Turn on all four compressors — the chamber pressurizes automatically to 1.3 ATA (4.4 PSI)
- If ear pressure is felt: pinch the nose, close the mouth, and gently exhale through the nose (Valsalva maneuver). Yawning and wide jaw movement also help. Partially opening the deflation valve slows pressurization for patient comfort
- The chamber is fully pressurized when the relief valves begin releasing air and the gauge reads in the blue zone
- Leave all four compressors running throughout the session — they maintain continuous fresh air circulation inside the chamber at pressure
- When the session is complete, turn the red deflation valve to release pressure — the speed is controlled by how far the valve is opened
- Wait until the chamber sides feel fully soft and the gauge reads zero before unzipping — never open zippers or unbuckle straps while the chamber is pressurized
- Unbuckle all straps first, then open both zippers fully before assisting the patient in exiting
- After extended storage periods: run the chamber for several hours before clinical sessions to clear any residual odors, per the Summit to Sea manual
Always read the complete Summit to Sea user manual before the first session. Maintain a session log in clinical settings and ensure your supervising physician has reviewed the protocol with staff. Questions on frequency or duration should go to the supervising physician.
Owning vs. Outsourcing: The Clinical Case for In-House Hyperbaric Access
Practices that refer clients to external hyperbaric facilities lose revenue, scheduling control, and clinical continuity. Here is how buyers typically evaluate in-house ownership. This is not a financial projection — outcomes vary by market and utilization.
- Referral revenue leaves the practice with every client sent elsewhere
- Scheduling dependency on external facility availability and hours
- No clinical continuity — treatment happens outside your protocol
- Client retention risk — patients may establish a relationship with the external facility
- Revenue ceiling set by another facility’s capacity, not yours
- In-house sessions keep revenue and the patient relationship within your practice
- Schedule sessions on your terms — no external facility coordination
- 60-inch interior accommodates the widest range of adult patients
- Premium service offering justifies premium positioning in your market
- Two-year warranty and authorized dealer support protect the investment
The right evaluation depends on your referral volume and session mix. For practices already sending patients to outside hyperbaric facilities, the calculus is usually straightforward. Call us to discuss your specific practice before purchasing.
Who Uses the Summit to Sea Grand Dive Pro Plus Short Hyperbaric Chamber?
The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short fills a specific clinical need: maximum interior width in a room-constrained footprint. The three profiles below cover the most common purchase contexts.
You need the 60-inch interior — for stretcher placement, multi-person sessions, and the in-session comfort that differentiates your clinical offering. But your treatment room is 10–12 feet long, not 14–16. A 96-inch chamber does not fit without modifications. The Pro Plus Short at 78 inches fits where the full Pro Plus cannot, delivering the same 60-inch cross-section, the same quad-compressor system, and the same clinical build in a footprint that works with your existing space.
Space-Constrained ClinicalYou are running a Grand Dive Pro or comparable 46-inch chamber. Patient volume has grown and you are hitting the limits of the 46-inch interior — patients who need more room, sessions requiring practitioner presence, or stretcher use the narrower model does not support. Your room will not fit the full-length Pro Plus. The Grand Dive Pro Plus Short delivers the upgrade from 46 to 60 inches without requiring additional space, plus the operational step up from two compressors to four.
Upgrade from 46″ ProYou run three to four hyperbaric sessions per hour and clients expect premium in-session comfort. The Pro Plus Short’s 60-inch interior accommodates the widest range of adult body types; the quad-compressor system handles the session cadence. The 78-inch footprint fits a standard wellness room without the modifications a 96-inch chamber would require. Two-year warranty and authorized dealer support keep downtime manageable for a schedule-dependent operation.
High-Volume WellnessWhat 60-Inch Width Makes Possible
These are use configurations — not medical recommendations. What works in your clinical setting depends on your patient population, staff protocols, and your supervising physician’s guidance.
The 60-inch interior accommodates most standard clinical stretchers without requiring the patient to transfer or reposition. This is a meaningful advantage for practices treating patients with mobility limitations or conditions that make chamber entry a clinical consideration. Verify your stretcher dimensions against the 60″ × 78″ interior before purchasing.
At 60 inches, a clinician or caregiver can enter alongside a patient for supervised sessions — relevant for pediatric protocols, anxiety around enclosed spaces, or research contexts requiring staff presence. The Pro Plus Short provides this capability without requiring the full Pro Plus’s 8-foot room length.
Sixty inches accommodates two average-sized adults lying in parallel, or a parent and child in supervised concurrent sessions. Commercial buyers do not require patient prescriptions — call to discuss volume pricing and setup support for multi-session wellness programming.
Four to eight sessions per day require equipment built for that cadence. The Pro Plus Short’s clinical-grade construction and four-compressor redundancy are designed for commercial daily-use environments. The 78-inch footprint fits a standard treatment room and can be deflated for storage between clinical uses.
Grand Dive Pro Plus Short vs. The Clinical Summit to Sea Line
The Pro Plus Short sits between the Grand Dive Pro (46″ × 96″) and the Grand Dive Pro Plus (60″ × 96″). Here is how all three compare on the specifications that matter for clinical purchasing.

Summit to Sea Grand Dive Pro Plus Short — Frequently Asked Questions
The only difference is interior length. The Pro Plus Short is 78 inches (6.5 feet) long; the full Grand Dive Pro Plus is 96 inches (8 feet). Both share an identical 60-inch interior diameter, the same four-compressor system, the same 1.3 ATA pressure, the same 3–4 person capacity, and the same two-year warranty. The Pro Plus Short exists for clinical settings where a 96-inch chamber cannot be installed without room modifications. If your space fits 8 feet with adequate access clearance, choose the full Pro Plus for 18 more inches of interior length. If it cannot, the Short delivers everything that defines the Pro Plus line in a footprint that fits. The choice is purely a room-geometry decision.
Yes. The 60-inch interior diameter accommodates most standard clinical stretchers without requiring the patient to transfer surfaces before entering. The 78-inch length fits most adult patients fully extended. Very tall patients or stretchers with extended footboards should be measured against the 60″ × 78″ interior before purchasing. If stretcher compatibility is a primary clinical requirement, contact us with your stretcher dimensions and we can confirm fit before you commit.
The four-compressor configuration is a direct consequence of the 60-inch interior diameter. A 60-inch chamber encloses substantially more air volume than a 40- or 46-inch model, and two compressors — adequate for smaller Summit to Sea chambers — would be undersized here: pressurization takes longer, and maintaining stable pressure at 1.3 ATA places more stress on each unit. Four compressors working in parallel solve this: faster pressurization, more stable pressure maintenance, quieter per-unit operation, and meaningful redundancy. If one unit requires service, the chamber does not go offline — a practical advantage for practices with booked daily session schedules.
Fully inflated, the Pro Plus Short is 78 inches long and 60 inches in diameter. Plan for a minimum room length of 12–13 feet to allow 2–3 feet of access clearance at each end. Room width should be at least 8 feet — ideally 9–10 — to accommodate the chamber plus working clearance for patient entry and compressor placement. Ceiling height of at least 5 feet is required; the pressurized chamber stands approximately 60 inches tall. Account for the four compressors and their cabling in your layout. Contact us if you want to think through your specific room before purchasing.
It can be purchased for residential use with a valid physician’s prescription, but it is primarily a clinical and commercial chamber. The 60″ × 78″ footprint, four compressors, and clinical-grade construction are sized for professional daily-use environments. Most home users are better served by the Grand Dive (40″) or Grand Dive Pro (46″), both of which are more practical for residential installation. If you are a residential buyer with a specific need for the 60-inch interior, contact us for an honest conversation about whether this model fits your situation.
Commercial orders require no patient prescription. After confirmation, we submit to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Lead time at Summit to Sea is 7–14 business days, after which the chamber ships via free LTL freight to the contiguous 48 states. Freight transit adds roughly 5–10 business days. Total time from order to delivery is 3–5 weeks. Delivery is curbside by default; Professional Setup & Assembly (room placement, packaging removal) is a flat $749 paid upgrade. For Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada, call our team for a freight quote.
