Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Your Summit to Sea hyperbaric chamber ships free via freight delivery to any address in the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Liftgate service is included.
Prescription required. Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices (510(k) K072757). A valid physician's prescription is required for your order to ship. Email your prescription to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com after placing your order — our team will follow up with you if we need anything else.
Processing time. Once your prescription is confirmed, your order is submitted to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Chambers ship directly from the Summit to Sea facility.
Transit time. Typically 7–10 business days after shipment, depending on your location. You will receive tracking information once the carrier picks up your order.
Scheduling your delivery. All hyperbaric chambers ship as oversized freight on a pallet. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment before the truck arrives. Respond promptly — missed delivery attempts can result in storage fees charged to you.
What to expect at delivery. Standard delivery is curbside — the driver will lower the shipment using the truck's liftgate, but will not bring it inside or assist with installation. Have help available on delivery day.
IMPORTANT — inspect before you sign. Walk around the shipment and check all boxes for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading before the driver leaves. If you observe major structural damage, refuse the delivery — we will arrange a replacement at no cost. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier from all damage claims.
Alaska, Hawaii & outside the contiguous U.S. Not available at standard checkout. Call (888) 500-5675 for a custom freight quote.
Free freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →
Return Policy
Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Summit to Sea chamber. If something isn't right, you have 15 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return. All return and refund communication is handled directly by our team at Recovery Room Direct — you never need to contact Summit to Sea yourself.
How to start a return. Email us at sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase. Do not ship the item back without prior written authorization. We will coordinate with Summit to Sea on your behalf.
Condition required. The chamber must be unused, uninflated, and in the same condition you received it, including all original packaging, components, compressor(s), and accessories. FDA-cleared medical devices that have been assembled, inflated, or used are not eligible for return.
What a return costs. Returning large freight equipment involves real costs — we want to be transparent:
- 20% restocking fee deducted from your refund
- Return freight shipping is your responsibility (hyperbaric chambers are large, heavy freight — costs are significant)
- Original outbound shipping is deducted from your refund
Your refund. Once Summit to Sea receives and inspects the returned item, we will notify you of approval status. If approved, your refund is issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of inspection approval.
Prescription note. Because these are FDA-cleared medical devices, any prescription documentation submitted will be retained on file per our compliance requirements and cannot be returned or deleted.
Warranty. All Summit to Sea chambers carry a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering all components — including the compressor, electronics, zipper, windows, seams, valves, and hoses. Warranty claims are coordinated through Recovery Room Direct — call (888) 500-5675.

What Every Buyer Should Know Before Adding to Cart
We would rather help you make a great decision than close a sale quickly. The Dive is a significant investment, and it comes with logistics that differ from most online purchases.
Prescription Required (Residential)
Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices. Residential delivery requires a valid physician’s prescription on file before we can submit your order to Summit to Sea for fulfillment.
Freight Shipping — 4 to 8 Weeks
The Dive ships via LTL freight, free to the contiguous 48 states. After your prescription is confirmed and submitted, expect 3–5 weeks from order to delivery. This is not an expedited product category.
Room Requirements
Fully inflated, The Dive is 90 inches long and 33 inches in diameter. Plan for at least 7.5 feet of clear floor space plus access clearance on both ends.
If you have questions about the prescription process, room setup, or whether hyperbaric sessions are appropriate for your situation, our advisors are available seven days a week. Financing is available at checkout. HSA/FSA may be eligible — verify with your plan.
The Science Behind Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA
A hyperbaric chamber creates a pressurized environment above normal atmospheric pressure. At 1.3 ATA — the pressure found roughly 11 feet below sea level — more oxygen dissolves into blood plasma than at sea level. This is a physical property of gas and pressure, not a medical claim.
The Dive uses two compressors to gradually inflate its nylon shell and raise internal pressure to 1.3 ATA. You breathe ambient air throughout — no oxygen mask, no oxygen concentrator required. Pressure builds over 5–10 minutes; most sessions run 60–90 minutes, then decompress gradually.
Summit to Sea holds FDA 510(k) clearance #K072757, classifying their chambers as Class II medical devices. The cleared indication is acute altitude sickness. All other uses — including home wellness and athlete recovery — are off-label and are the user's responsibility. A physician's prescription is required for residential delivery.
Professional athletes, physical therapists, wellness centers, and individuals committed to personal health routines use hyperbaric chambers as part of their regular regimens. Many professional sports organizations maintain hyperbaric chambers in their training facilities. Hospitals and licensed clinics may operate chambers commercially without patient prescriptions.
Academic and clinical research on mild HBOT (mHBOT) is ongoing across several areas. This research is exploratory; Summit to Sea chambers are not cleared to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease condition other than altitude sickness. Consult your physician to determine whether hyperbaric use is appropriate for your situation.
Summit to Sea The Dive — Key Features
The Dive earns its place as Summit to Sea's most popular model by hitting the balance most home users want: enough interior volume for genuine comfort, without requiring a dedicated clinical room.
Seven inches wider than the Shallow Dive changes the experience meaningfully. At 33 inches, most adults can shift their arm, bend one knee slightly, or turn a quarter-turn without touching the wall. It is wide enough to read, use a tablet, or simply rest without feeling confined throughout a 60-to-90-minute session.
At 90 inches (7.5 feet), The Dive accommodates users over six feet three inches lying fully extended. Most chambers at this price point compromise on length to reduce material costs — The Dive does not. The extra length also creates additional air volume inside, contributing to a less enclosed feel during pressurized sessions.
The urethane-coated nylon shell is semi-transparent, allowing natural light through from all sides. You can see your surroundings, check a clock on the wall, or maintain visual contact with someone in the room. The visual openness addresses one of the most common concerns first-time chamber users bring to our pre-sales calls.
Two compressors work together to pressurize the chamber, reach target pressure faster, and maintain stable 1.3 ATA throughout your session. Summit to Sea's dual compressor configuration also provides redundancy — if one compressor needs service, sessions are not interrupted. Sound suppression is standard on both units.
Summit to Sea's two-year warranty covers all components — the chamber shell, zippers, valves, compressors, and accessories. This is one of the strongest warranties in the portable hyperbaric category. Recovery Room Direct is an authorized dealer, meaning your warranty is registered directly with Summit to Sea from purchase.
The Dive runs on a standard 120V 15-amp household outlet. No electrician, no dedicated circuit, no installation. Set it up in a bedroom, home gym, wellness room, or office — anywhere with a standard wall outlet and enough floor space. The compressors and chamber fold into carry bags when not in use.

The Dive Hyperbaric Chamber — Session Protocol, Start to Finish
Summit to Sea chambers are designed for straightforward independent use. This protocol is sourced directly from the official Summit to Sea user manual.
- Clear adequate floor space with access clearance on both ends of the chamber
- Confirm both compressors are plugged into the appropriate outlet
- Confirm the red deflation valve is fully closed before pressurization
- Bring water inside — drinking during inflation helps equalize ear pressure
- If using with a care partner, have them assist with the external zipper. If using independently, review the solo-entry steps in the user manual before your first session
- Turn on both compressors — the chamber pressurizes automatically to 1.3 ATA (4.4 PSI)
- If you feel ear pressure: pinch your nose, close your mouth, and gently exhale through your nose (Valsalva maneuver). Yawning and wide mouth movement also help. You can partially open the deflation valve to slow pressurization for greater comfort
- The chamber is fully pressurized when the relief valves begin releasing air and your gauge reads in the blue zone
- Leave both compressors running throughout your entire session — they maintain continuous fresh air circulation inside the chamber
- When your session is complete, turn the red deflation valve to release pressure. You control the deflation speed by how far you turn the valve
- Wait until the chamber sides feel fully soft and your gauge reads zero before unzipping — never open zippers or unbuckle straps while the chamber is pressurized
- Unbuckle all straps, then open both zippers to exit the chamber
- After extended storage: run the chamber for several hours before your first session to clear any odors that may have collected, per the Summit to Sea manual
Always read the complete Summit to Sea user manual before your first session. Questions about session frequency or duration should be discussed with the physician who issued your prescription.
Who Uses the Summit to Sea The Dive Hyperbaric Chamber?
The Dive is not the largest Summit to Sea chamber, and it is not the smallest. It sits at the model most buyers land on after comparing the full line — and for good reason. It fits the majority of serious home users.
You have researched hyperbaric chambers for months. You have tried clinic sessions and know the scheduling friction is real. You want on-demand access — sessions when you want them, for as long as you want, without booking. The Dive gives you a home chamber at the most popular interior size for that daily routine.
Daily Home UseYou train seriously — whether that is competitive sports, endurance events, or dedicated strength work. Your training team or physician has suggested exploring hyperbaric sessions as part of your broader recovery and performance support stack. You want a chamber that fits a dedicated athlete's use pattern, not a clinical waiting room.
Athletic Performance SupportYou run a physical therapy practice, integrative medicine office, or wellness center. You want to add a hyperbaric option for clients without the commercial footprint of an 8.5-foot clinical chamber. The Dive is sized for one dedicated session room and fits your professional workflow. Commercial orders do not require a patient prescription.
Clinical / Professional UseHome Chamber vs. Hyperbaric Clinic
This is not a medical comparison — it is a practical one. Here is what changes when the chamber is in your home.
- Book and travel to appointments
- Schedule-dependent session access
- Per-session billing accumulates over time
- Session frequency limited by availability
- No control over equipment or environment
- Session on demand — morning, night, whenever
- No appointments, no travel, no scheduling
- Fixed one-time investment
- Session frequency limited only by your schedule
- Your equipment, your environment, your routine
How The Dive Fits the Full Summit to Sea Line
Summit to Sea makes horizontal chambers from 26" to 60" interior diameter. The Dive is the middle of the personal-use range — wider than the Shallow Dive for solo sessions, smaller than the Grand Dive for those who want maximum space.

Summit to Sea The Dive — Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — for residential delivery. Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices and require a valid physician's prescription before shipping to a home address. This is a Summit to Sea policy enforced on all authorized dealers, including Recovery Room Direct. A licensed physician — including telehealth providers — can issue the prescription. If you don't have a physician contact ready, call us at (888) 500-5675 and we will connect you with a telehealth provider who can evaluate your situation and issue an appropriate prescription if warranted. Commercial addresses (clinics, PT practices, hospitals) do not require a patient prescription.
Seven inches of interior diameter is a more significant difference than it sounds. The Shallow Dive (26") fits most people but leaves minimal side clearance — you can lie flat, but shifting position, bending your knees, or resting an arm to the side means touching the wall. The Dive at 33" gives you enough space to shift position, adjust during a session, and use a tablet or book without brushing the shell. For users planning regular 60-to-90-minute sessions, that added room meaningfully changes how the session feels. If budget is the primary constraint, the Shallow Dive is a solid choice. If you expect to use the chamber frequently, the 33" is worth the upgrade.
Most users run sessions between 60 and 90 minutes. Pressurization takes 5–10 minutes at the start, and decompression takes a similar amount of time at the end. During the pressurized portion, users typically read, listen to audio, watch a device screen, or rest. You breathe normally — no oxygen mask, no specialized breathing equipment. The chamber is warm inside (pressure generates modest heat), so light clothing is typical. Summit to Sea recommends consulting your physician on session frequency and duration for your specific situation.
Summit to Sea chambers require a physician's evaluation before purchase for this reason. Known contraindications in the broader hyperbaric literature include untreated pneumothorax, certain lung conditions, active respiratory infection, recent ear surgery, and pregnancy, among others. This is not an exhaustive clinical list, and individual circumstances vary significantly. Do not self-prescribe or self-determine whether hyperbaric use is appropriate for you — that is exactly what the physician consultation process is designed to address. Your prescribing physician will evaluate your specific health history before issuing the prescription.
Initial setup typically takes 30–45 minutes for first-time users reviewing the manual. Once you have done it a few times, setup takes around 10–15 minutes. The chamber inflates from its deflated/packed state using the compressors — no manual pumping required. The Dive deflates and packs into its carry bags, making it portable between rooms or locations. The compressors and packed chamber fit easily through a standard doorway.
The Dive ships via free LTL freight to the contiguous 48 states. After your order is confirmed and your prescription is on file, we submit to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Lead time from Summit to Sea is 7–14 business days. Freight delivery to residential addresses is curbside unless a White Glove upgrade is arranged. White Glove delivery (room of choice, setup) is available for an additional fee — call us to arrange. Total time from order to delivery is typically 3–5 weeks depending on prescription timing and freight transit routing.
