Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Your Summit to Sea hyperbaric chamber ships free via freight delivery to any address in the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Liftgate service is included.
Prescription required. Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices (510(k) K072757). A valid physician's prescription is required for your order to ship. Email your prescription to sales@recoveryroomdirect.com after placing your order — our team will follow up with you if we need anything else.
Processing time. Once your prescription is confirmed, your order is submitted to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Chambers ship directly from the Summit to Sea facility.
Transit time. Typically 7–10 business days after shipment, depending on your location. You will receive tracking information once the carrier picks up your order.
Scheduling your delivery. All hyperbaric chambers ship as oversized freight on a pallet. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment before the truck arrives. Respond promptly — missed delivery attempts can result in storage fees charged to you.
What to expect at delivery. Standard delivery is curbside — the driver will lower the shipment using the truck's liftgate, but will not bring it inside or assist with installation. Have help available on delivery day.
IMPORTANT — inspect before you sign. Walk around the shipment and check all boxes for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading before the driver leaves. If you observe major structural damage, refuse the delivery — we will arrange a replacement at no cost. Signing a clean Bill of Lading releases the carrier from all damage claims.
Alaska, Hawaii & outside the contiguous U.S. Not available at standard checkout. Call (888) 500-5675 for a custom freight quote.
Free freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 U.S. states. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →
Return Policy
Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your Summit to Sea chamber. If something isn't right, you have 15 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return. All return and refund communication is handled directly by our team at Recovery Room Direct — you never need to contact Summit to Sea yourself.
How to start a return. Email us at sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and proof of purchase. Do not ship the item back without prior written authorization. We will coordinate with Summit to Sea on your behalf.
Condition required. The chamber must be unused, uninflated, and in the same condition you received it, including all original packaging, components, compressor(s), and accessories. FDA-cleared medical devices that have been assembled, inflated, or used are not eligible for return.
What a return costs. Returning large freight equipment involves real costs — we want to be transparent:
- 20% restocking fee deducted from your refund
- Return freight shipping is your responsibility (hyperbaric chambers are large, heavy freight — costs are significant)
- Original outbound shipping is deducted from your refund
Your refund. Once Summit to Sea receives and inspects the returned item, we will notify you of approval status. If approved, your refund is issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of inspection approval.
Prescription note. Because these are FDA-cleared medical devices, any prescription documentation submitted will be retained on file per our compliance requirements and cannot be returned or deleted.
Warranty. All Summit to Sea chambers carry a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering all components — including the compressor, electronics, zipper, windows, seams, valves, and hoses. Warranty claims are coordinated through Recovery Room Direct — call (888) 500-5675.

What Every Summit to Sea Grand Dive Buyer Should Know First
We would rather help you make a great decision than close a sale quickly. The Grand Dive is a significant investment, and it comes with logistics that differ from most online purchases.
Prescription Required (Residential)
Summit to Sea chambers are FDA-cleared Class II medical devices. Residential delivery requires a valid physician’s prescription. Licensed clinical facilities and commercial buyers are exempt from this requirement.
Freight Shipping — 4 to 8 Weeks
The Grand Dive ships via LTL freight, free to the contiguous 48 states. After your prescription is confirmed, expect 3–5 weeks from order to delivery. This is not an expedited product category.
Room Requirements
Fully inflated, the Grand Dive is 90 inches long and 40 inches in diameter. Plan for at least 7.5 feet of clear floor space plus 3 feet of clearance on each end.
If you have questions about the prescription process, room planning, or whether two users can comfortably fit your specific frame sizes, our advisors are available seven days a week. Financing available. HSA/FSA may be eligible — verify with your plan.
The Science Behind Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at 1.3 ATA
Inside a hyperbaric chamber, atmospheric pressure is raised above normal sea-level pressure. The Grand Dive operates at 1.3 ATA — the equivalent of approximately 11 feet below sea level. At this pressure, more oxygen dissolves into blood plasma than is possible at normal atmospheric pressure. This is a well-understood physical property of gas under pressure.
Two compressors gradually inflate the nylon shell to 1.3 ATA over 5–10 minutes. You breathe ambient air inside — no oxygen mask or concentrator required. Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes at pressure. Decompression is gradual; the full process is controlled by a valve inside and outside the chamber.
Summit to Sea holds FDA 510(k) clearance #K072757 for their chambers as Class II medical devices, cleared for acute altitude sickness. Residential wellness use is off-label. A physician's prescription is required for delivery to a residential address. Commercial facilities (clinics, hospitals, PT practices) can order without a patient prescription.
The Grand Dive is a popular choice for professional athletes who want maximum in-session comfort, larger-framed individuals for whom a 33" chamber feels too tight, couples sharing one chamber between alternating sessions, and small clinics or wellness practices adding their first chamber.
Growing academic research is exploring the effects of mild HBOT (mHBOT) across several areas of interest. This research is ongoing and does not constitute cleared medical indications for these devices. Summit to Sea chambers are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease other than altitude sickness. Consult your physician before use.
Summit to Sea Grand Dive — Key Features and Advantages
The Grand Dive upgrades every dimension that matters inside the chamber. The extra 7 inches over The Dive translates directly into an experience that feels open rather than contained — and for users who spend 60–90 minutes per session, that difference is real every single time.
Forty inches is not just 7 more inches than The Dive — it is a qualitatively different interior. Most adults can lie with both arms at their sides without touching the walls. You can shift from your back to one side mid-session. A smaller child or pet can be alongside you. The Grand Dive is the widest personal-use horizontal chamber in the Summit to Sea line, and it shows in how a session feels.
The Grand Dive is Summit to Sea's entry into shared-session territory. A couple where both users want regular sessions often finds the economics compelling: one chamber, two users on alternating schedules — or, for smaller individuals, occasional simultaneous sessions. Clinics also use the Grand Dive for side-by-side observations where a technician or caregiver can be present during a client's session.
Despite its 40" diameter, the Grand Dive deflates and packs into carry bags for storage or relocation. It is significantly larger than The Dive when set up, but it is not a permanent clinical fixture — it packs away when not in use. Setup from deflated takes around 15–20 minutes. No permanent installation, no modification to the space, no dedicated room required.
Two compressors pressurize the Grand Dive to 1.3 ATA, maintaining stable pressure throughout the session. Sound suppression is built into both units. The dual configuration means that if one compressor needs service, you are not without a functioning chamber — a practical advantage for clinics and heavy home users who run sessions daily.
Summit to Sea's two-year warranty covers the chamber shell, zippers, pressure valves, compressors, and included accessories. As an authorized dealer, Recovery Room Direct registers your warranty with Summit to Sea at the time of purchase. If a warranty claim arises, we handle communication with Summit to Sea on your behalf.
The Grand Dive runs on a standard 120V 15-amp circuit. No dedicated electrical work, no contractor, no modification to your facility or home. Plug it in where you have space. This is one of Summit to Sea's most practical design decisions — it keeps the Grand Dive accessible for home users and small clinics alike without infrastructure investment.
Summit to Sea Grand Dive — Hyperbaric Chamber in Action
See the 40-inch interior for yourself — the pressurization sequence, the in-session experience, and what it actually looks and feels like to be inside the Grand Dive before you decide.
Grand Dive Hyperbaric Chamber — Session Protocol, Start to Finish
Summit to Sea chambers are designed for straightforward independent use. This protocol is sourced directly from the official Summit to Sea user manual.
- Clear adequate floor space with access clearance on both ends of the chamber
- Confirm both compressors are plugged into the appropriate outlet
- Confirm the red deflation valve is fully closed before pressurization
- Bring water inside — drinking during inflation helps equalize ear pressure
- If using with a care partner, have them assist with the external zipper. If using independently, review the solo-entry steps in the user manual before your first session
- Turn on both compressors — the chamber pressurizes automatically to 1.3 ATA (4.4 PSI)
- If you feel ear pressure: pinch your nose, close your mouth, and gently exhale through your nose (Valsalva maneuver). Yawning and wide mouth movement also help. You can partially open the deflation valve to slow pressurization for greater comfort
- The chamber is fully pressurized when the relief valves begin releasing air and your gauge reads in the blue zone
- Leave both compressors running throughout your entire session — they maintain continuous fresh air circulation inside the chamber
- When your session is complete, turn the red deflation valve to release pressure. You control the deflation speed by how far you turn the valve
- Wait until the chamber sides feel fully soft and your gauge reads zero before unzipping — never open zippers or unbuckle straps while the chamber is pressurized
- Unbuckle all straps, then open both zippers to exit the chamber
- After extended storage: run the chamber for several hours before your first session to clear any odors that may have collected, per the Summit to Sea manual
Always read the complete Summit to Sea user manual before your first session. Questions about session frequency or duration should be discussed with the physician who issued your prescription.
Home Access vs. Hyperbaric Clinic: What the Math Looks Like
Hyperbaric sessions at standalone clinics typically run $150–$300 per visit. If you’re evaluating whether a Grand Dive makes financial sense, here are two ways to think about it. This is not a financial projection — costs vary by market, individual use, and session frequency.
- Drive time and scheduling dependency each visit
- $150–$300 per session at most standalone facilities
- Cumulative cost grows with frequency and duration of use
- Availability may be limited; appointment required each visit
- One-time purchase; no per-session cost after acquisition
- Schedule sessions on your own time, without travel
- Household access — multiple members can share one chamber
- Two-year warranty; Summit to Sea service and support
The right comparison depends on your session frequency and how you value your time. For buyers choosing between the Grand Dive and The Dive: the 40” interior offers meaningful additional comfort for longer sessions, especially for two-person or larger-frame use. Call our team to discuss your specific use case before purchasing.
Who Uses the Summit to Sea Grand Dive Hyperbaric Chamber?
Most buyers who choose the Grand Dive over The Dive have one of three reasons: they want maximum comfort for solo sessions, they plan shared use, or their clinic needs a versatile starting model. All three are well served.
You've read about The Dive, maybe even tried a session in a smaller chamber somewhere. You know that 60–90 minutes in a tight space adds up, and you don't want to spend that time managing minor discomfort. The Grand Dive gives you space to settle in without touching the walls — and that changes how you experience a long session.
Premium Home UseTwo people in the same household committed to regular hyperbaric sessions. One chamber that both use on alternating schedules is the practical answer. The Grand Dive's size also means occasional side-by-side sessions are possible for smaller-framed individuals. One chamber purchase, two users, shared investment — the math works.
Shared Household UseYou run a physical therapy practice, integrative medicine office, or wellness center. You want a versatile first chamber that can serve a range of client body types and session configurations. The Grand Dive's 40" diameter accommodates most adult clients comfortably, and it fits in a standard treatment room. Commercial orders don't require a patient prescription.
Clinical / ProfessionalWhat 40 Inches Makes Possible
These are use configurations — not medical recommendations. What works for you depends on your specific situation and your physician's guidance.
Most adults fit the Grand Dive with meaningful room to spare. You can shift position, bring a tablet or book, and spend 60–90 minutes without the walls being part of your awareness. The 40" diameter is a different category of in-session comfort than 33" or 26".
A common configuration for households with two regular users: morning sessions and evening sessions, two users, one chamber. The Grand Dive's size means neither user is making a comfort compromise for shared equipment.
The Grand Dive is large enough for a parent and young child to use together during a session, or for a caregiver to accompany a client. Consult your physician about appropriate use for pediatric or special-needs situations.
For a clinic running four to six sessions per day, the Grand Dive fits the room footprint and client size range for a general-use professional chamber without the commercial price point of Summit to Sea's larger clinical models.

Summit to Sea Grand Dive — Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the size of both individuals. The 40" interior is substantial, but fitting two average-sized adults side by side for a full 90-minute session is tight. Most shared-use configurations involve one adult lying flat while the other sits up with knees bent — or smaller individuals lying side by side. The more practical shared-use case is two users on alternating schedules sharing one chamber, not simultaneous sessions. For true dual-occupant clinical use, the Grand Dive Pro (46") or Pro Plus (60") series is the right choice. If you want to confirm whether your specific situation works, call us at (888) 500-5675 before purchasing.
When fully inflated, the Grand Dive is approximately 40 inches (about 3.5 feet) in diameter and 90 inches (7.5 feet) in length. In a room, plan for an additional 2–3 feet on each side for comfortable access and for running the compressor cables. A 10' × 14' room fits the Grand Dive comfortably with the compressors alongside. Narrower rooms can work if the chamber is placed lengthwise against a wall, provided access to the zipper entry is clear. Ceiling height needs to be at least 4 feet above the floor (the inflated chamber is roughly 40" tall when fully pressurized). Contact us if you want to think through your space before purchasing.
The physician's prescription requirement exists precisely to screen for these situations before a chamber ships. Known contraindications in the broader hyperbaric literature include untreated pneumothorax, certain pulmonary conditions, uncontrolled respiratory infection, recent ear surgery or active ear infection, certain cardiac conditions, and pregnancy, among others. This is not a complete clinical list, and whether hyperbaric use is appropriate is a decision for your physician — not a determination you should make based on a product page. Your prescribing physician will review your complete health history before issuing a prescription.
Yes. At 90 inches (7.5 feet) in interior length, the Grand Dive accommodates most adults over 6'3" lying fully extended. At 40" in diameter, even broad-shouldered or larger-framed users have comfortable clearance. The Grand Dive is Summit to Sea's largest non-clinical horizontal chamber and is designed to fit a wide range of adult body types without the clinical footprint of the Pro series. If you are above 6'6" or have specific size concerns, call us and we can confirm.
The Grand Dive Pro is 8 feet long (vs. 7.5 feet for the Grand Dive) and 46" in interior diameter (vs. 40"). The Pro series adds the extra length to accommodate a stretcher and is sized for more formal clinical environments — physical therapy practices, hospital wellness departments, sports medicine clinics. It also adds a second set of pressure relief valves and upgraded compressor configuration for higher-use commercial environments. For most home users and entry-level clinics, the Grand Dive is the right choice. For a dedicated clinical chamber that will see 5–8 sessions per day with a range of patient sizes, the Grand Dive Pro is worth reviewing.
After your order is confirmed and prescription is on file, we submit to Summit to Sea within 2–3 business days. Summit to Sea's lead time is 7–14 business days. Delivery is free freight to the contiguous 48 states via LTL carrier. Residential delivery is curbside by default — the carrier schedules a delivery appointment window and drops at the curb. White Glove delivery (room of choice, debris removal) is available for an additional fee. Call us at (888) 500-5675 to add White Glove. Total time from order to delivery is typically 3–5 weeks.
