Harvia sells the heater and the stones separately and states the weight each model holds. Old or crumbling stones restrict airflow and shorten element life, so they are replaced rather than reused.
SaunaLife builds eight Essentials sets. These are the three that differ in what you get; the rest are color and material variations of the same three, and they are all on the Essentials Set page.

How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Freight, not parcel. Shipping is quoted per model and charged at checkout, and you see the exact figure before you pay.
When it ships. Stock across a range this size moves week to week, so we confirm the position for your model when you order rather than publishing an average that would be wrong for half the catalog.
How you will know. You get a tracking notification by email once your order ships. On a freight shipment the updates come from the carrier's own portal rather than standard UPS or FedEx tracking, so we include the carrier name, the PRO tracking number and a link to their tracking tool.
How it arrives. Palletized on an LTL carrier, or on a flat bed for the largest cabins. The carrier calls to arrange a window, someone must be there to sign, and delivery is to the curb. Pallets run up to 81 inches wide, so check the route from where a truck can stop to where the sauna will sit before you order.
Where it ships. Rates cover the contiguous 48 states. Canada is higher and set by SaunaLife, and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are always quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.
If it arrives damaged. Inspect every crate with the driver still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. SaunaLife excludes damage that would have been visible on inspection, so a clean signature can cost you the claim. Call us from the driveway.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Two years, residential. Defects in workmanship under normal use, from the date you take delivery, to the original retail purchaser. Keep your receipt.
Repair or replace. SaunaLife chooses which, and may substitute a component of equivalent value. A replaced part carries the remaining term rather than starting a new one.
Not covered. Installation and delivery, normal wear, user damage, and the way wood behaves: knots, grain and tone differences, shrinkage, moderate deformation and weathering. Accessories carry one year. Cleaners, wax, paint and oils carry 60 days.
Residential only. Commercial use voids it, so call before you order if the sauna goes into a gym, spa, clinic or any other business and we will confirm the terms in writing.
The heater is separate. A SaunaLife sauna does not include a heater, so the heater, its control unit and its stones fall under that manufacturer's warranty.
Transport damage must be caught on delivery. Damage that would have been detectable by visual inspection before installation is excluded. Inspect the crates with the driver, write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, and photograph everything before you move it. Once panels are assembled, a claim for damage that was visible beforehand is very hard to win.
Who handles it. We handle the claim with SaunaLife for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, photographs and a description of the fault.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original crating and all included parts. Once panels have been screwed together, a tub has been filled or a stove has been fired, it counts as installed and cannot be returned.
What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund on a standard customer return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind, and on a crated sauna that is a real number rather than a formality, so ask us for a figure before you commit. The freight you paid at checkout is not refunded either.
When it is our fault. If the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, we and the distributor cover the return and nothing is deducted.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crates before you move anything, and call us the same day. Transit damage is resolved by replacement parts rather than by return.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee at all before we submit your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back.

The short answer
The SaunaLife CL4G is a 3-person outdoor sauna kit, and the shallowest Cube at 49.2 inches
49.2 inches deep. That is the number that sells this cabin, and it makes the CL4G the shallowest of the Cube Series: 13.8 inches less than the CL5G, and two inches less than the two-person CL3G, which is narrower but not shallower. On a side return or a tight garden, depth is often what decides it.
The ground
80.7 × 49.2 in
That is the cabin itself, on a level base. Allow working room around it to assemble the shell and to reach the back afterwards.
The people
Up to 3
SaunaLife lists the CL4G for up to 3 persons. One bench, 75.98 inches long and 17.72 inches deep, with a footrest step below it.
The project
Four more line items
The heater and its stones, a heater guardrail, the base and the electrician are separate from the cabin, and freight is charged at checkout. Call us and we will walk you through each one before you order.
The bench layout
One bench and a footrest, which is the whole decision
SaunaLife lists the CL4G for up to 3 persons, seated on one bench. Every measurement below is taken from SaunaLife's CL4G dimension drawing.
| Bench | 75.98 × 17.72 in, 29.13 in off the floor |
|---|---|
| Footrest step | 8.27 in deep, 14.25 in off the floor |
| Interior height | 74.8 in, the same as the CL5G |
| Timber | Thermo-Aspen bench and ergonomic backrest |

Three people on one bench
The CL4G has one bench and an 8.27-inch footrest step below it, so there is no second bench level. If you want more seating, the CL5G is 13.8 inches deeper and adds a lower bench and a side bench.
Drying the cabin after each use
SaunaLife's sauna care guide says to ventilate the room after each use and let the surfaces dry, to wipe the benches with a clean, damp cloth rather than a stream of water, and to keep the door closed when the sauna is not in use.
Finish
Natural or black, and what the difference really is
SaunaLife builds the CL4G in two finishes. It is the same cabin either way: the same timber, the same benching, the same glass. What changes is how the outside is treated, and when.
| Natural | Supplied uncoated. The front details are painted black at the factory. |
|---|---|
| Black | Black front details, plus two 2.7 litre tins of PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black sauna paint. |
| Applied by | You or your installer, after the cabin is standing. The shell is not painted at the factory. |
| Coverage | SaunaShield covers 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber. |

Why the paint travels in the crate instead of on the cabin
A finished cabin has to survive the same freight journey as a bare one. Strapping, forklift handling and the staves working against each other in transit all mark a painted surface, and a scuff shows far more on a black wall than on raw timber. Painting once the shell is standing gives an even coat with nothing to touch up, and it lets you reach the joints and end grain that are hidden once the panels are apart.
What applying it involves
SaunaShield is a water-based acrylate made for the outside of a sauna. PROSAUNAS give coverage as 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber, and describe the coating as quick drying with a 12 year durability under proper maintenance. Work to the instructions on the tin for preparation, number of coats and drying time, and keep what is left for touching up later.
The black finish is a choice about appearance and upkeep, not about how the sauna is built or how it performs. Heater sizing, the electrical supply and the warranty are identical on both.
Before you order
Six things to check before the CL4G ships
Every one of these is cheap to settle now and expensive to settle once a 1,415 lb pallet is in your driveway.
- Panel space for the circuit your electrician specifies.Harvia's installation manuals list 25 A at 240 V for the 6 kW KIP60, and for The Wall SW60 on a single-group connection. Your electrician works from the manual for the heater you choose and from your local code.
- Your building department's position on a hard-wired sauna.Permit rules for detached accessory structures vary by jurisdiction. Call your building department before you order and ask whether a permit is needed for the structure, for the electrical work or for both, and what setbacks apply to your lot.
- The cable run from the panel to the cabin.Distance affects the wire your electrician specifies. Have the run measured before you ask for a quote.
- Gate width against pallet width. The pallet is 80 × 44 × 41 in. Measure the gate and the route to the base against that before delivery day.
- A level base that drains.SaunaLife's care guide says to replace the soil under the sauna with well-drained, load-bearing material. The kit includes foundation beams, and the manual's tool list includes a water level.
- Deck placement, if it is going on a deck. The kit ships at 1,415 lb, before the heater, the stones and the bathers. Have a licensed structural engineer confirm the deck can carry it before you order.
Not sure on any of them? Call (888) 500-5675 and we will go through the list with you before you order.
Construction
Three things about the CL4G you cannot change later

Forty-two millimetre Thermo-Spruce walls. The walls are 42 mm Thermo-Spruce, held by two outer bands, with 28 mm front and back walls.
Thermally modified timber. SaunaLife describes its Thermo-Spruce as organically thermally enhanced, and as stronger and more dimensionally stable, and says it will far outlast conventional wood. The cabin is designed by SaunaLife and handcrafted in Northern Europe.
A shingled roof. The roof is underlay felt and a shingle kit with drip rails, as SaunaLife specifies.
This is a traditional sauna heated by stones rather than infrared panels. If you are still choosing between the two, our infrared versus traditional guide sets out the difference. The Cube Series sits in the full SaunaLife range.
No insulation layer is listed. Neither SaunaLife's package contents nor its CL4G installation manual lists an insulation layer or an R-value. The walls are 42 mm of solid Thermo-Spruce.
The decision that blocks the purchase
Which heaters SaunaLife lists for the CL4G
SaunaLife's recommended heater list for the CL4G names seven 6 kW heaters and one 7.5 kW heater, and every heater our selector carries for it is 6 kW. The heater is sold separately, and it is the only choice on this page that is difficult to reverse.
| Output | On SaunaLife's list | Nameplate draw |
|---|---|---|
| 6 kWOn SaunaLife's list | Harvia KIP60B and KIP60W, Cilindro PC60 and PC60E, The Wall SW60 and SWS60, and TopClass KV60 | 25 A at 240 V for the Harvia KIP60, and for The Wall SW60 on a single-group connection |
| 7.5 kW | HUUM DROP 7.5. Not in our selector; call and we will source it | In the heater's installation manual |
| 8 kW | Not on SaunaLife's list for the CL4G | Not applicable |
Nameplate draw is not circuit size. Your electrician sizes the breaker and conductors from the heater manufacturer's installation manual and your local code.
Harvia's installation manuals publish a room-size range for each heater. The KIP manual lists the 6 kW KIP60 for 28 to 40 square feet of floor and 170 to 300 cubic feet of room, and The Wall manual lists the SW60 for 28 to 47 square feet and 177 to 294 cubic feet. The CL4G's interior is 22.1 square feet of floor and 138.0 cubic feet of volume, smaller than the smallest room either manual lists for a 6 kW heater. Both manuals give a minimum sauna height of 1,900 mm, printed as 75 inches, and SaunaLife's drawing gives the CL4G's interior height as about 74.8 inches (190 cm).
SaunaLife's own recommended list for this cabin names only 6 and 7.5 kW heaters, and our selector follows that list. Because the two sources differ, confirm your heater choice with the heater manufacturer and go through its installation manual with your electrician before you order, and call (888) 500-5675 if you would like to go through SaunaLife's list with us.
Our selector for this cabin carries the Harvia Cilindro PC60 and The Wall SW60, both with their controls built into the heater. The room sizes above do not cover the Cilindro PC60; check its installation manual before you choose it. You can also browse Harvia sauna heaters or every electric sauna heater we carry.
SaunaLife does not publish a heat-up time for this cabin, so we do not quote one.
Ask your electrician about ground-fault protection before they quote. Harvia's KIP manual says a ground fault interrupter should not be installed in a sauna, and its manual for The Wall says not to connect the heater's power feed through one. Requirements for outdoor circuits depend on the electrical code your jurisdiction has adopted, so ask your electrician how the code and the heater's manual apply before the circuit is designed.
Running cost
Estimating what the CL4G costs to run
Buyers ask this in dollars, so here are worked examples with every input shown.
Example: one hour at full output
$1.10
6 kWh at 18.34 cents
Example: three hours a week
$14
Per month, at full output
Example: a year at three hours a week
$172
52 weeks, at full output
These are worked examples, not a quote or a maximum. They assume a 6 kW heater at its rated output for every hour counted, at 18.34 cents per kilowatt-hour, the US residential average in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly for June 2026. Count heat-up time in your hours. Your own cost will differ with your electricity rate and its fees, your supply voltage, the heater and lighting you use, and the weather. Your rate is on your electricity bill.
Scope
What you get, and what you also need
The kit ships as one pallet, 80 × 44 × 41 inches and 1,415 pounds, by LTL freight. SaunaLife's package contents and CL4G manual list the following.
- Thermo-Spruce walls, 42 mmwith 28 mm front and back walls
- Tempered bronze glass front wall, 8 mm
- Thermo-Aspen bench and ergonomic backrest
- Underlay felt and shingleswith fascia boards
- Foundation beams, ventilation and front details painted black
- White LED light bar with Wi-Fi apphandheld remote and cradle, 90 W power supply, driver and 30 ft cable
- Montage kit and installation instructions

No heater guard is included. SaunaLife's package contents list a heater guard for the CL5G, CL7G and CL12GCP, not the CL4G. Harvia's KIP manual calls for a heater guardrail of matching softwood, and its manual for The Wall says a softwood heater fence is necessary for safety. Budget for one.

Assembly
Building the SaunaLife CL4G
Components arrive as numbered parts, and SaunaLife's CL4G installation manual takes you through the build step by step. SaunaLife does not publish a build time.
The manual's tool list names a circular saw, measuring tape, marker pen, water level, drill, crescent wrench, utility knife, rubber mallet, ratchet strap, hammer and screwdriver, plus extra hands. Check you have all of them before the pallet arrives.
The manual places the ratchet strap near the ends of the boards while the two outer bands go on. It says to leave a quarter-inch gap when tightening the screws, so there is room for adjustment when the bands are installed, and not to tighten the band nuts fully at first.
Before the first proper session
The CL4G manual has no first-use section, so follow the manual for the heater you choose. Harvia's KIP manual says to run the heater for an hour before using the sauna for the first time, and its manual for The Wall says to ventilate the room well during the first heating.

What to check when your SaunaLife CL4G is delivered
We have no customer reviews of the CL4G yet. Buyers are invited to review their order 30 days after it is fulfilled.
Before delivery
Measure the gate and the route to the base against the 80 × 44 × 41 in pallet.
At the truck
Photograph the pallet and any damage before you sign the delivery receipt.
Before you build
SaunaLife's warranty excludes defects, including transport damage, that visual inspection would have caught before installation.
Our policy if the delivery is damaged. Cosmetic damage can be accepted. If a carton is punctured or crushed, or the sauna itself is damaged, refuse that item and call us on (888) 500-5675 while the driver is still there.
Buyer questions
SaunaLife CL4G questions buyers ask before ordering
Does the SaunaLife CL4G fit three people?
SaunaLife lists the CL4G for up to 3 persons. It has one bench, 75.98 inches long and 17.72 inches deep, with an 8.27-inch footrest step below it, so there is no second bench level. For more seating, the CL5G adds a lower bench and a side bench.
What size heater does the SaunaLife CL4G need?
SaunaLife's recommended list for the CL4G names seven 6 kW heaters and the 7.5 kW HUUM DROP 7.5, and the heater is sold separately. Harvia's manuals list its 6 kW KIP60 and The Wall SW60 for rooms of at least 28 square feet and 170 or 177 cubic feet, larger than the CL4G's 22.1 square foot, 138.0 cubic foot interior, so confirm your heater choice with the heater manufacturer and your electrician before you order.
What are the SaunaLife CL4G dimensions and footprint?
The CL4G is 80.7 inches wide, 49.2 inches deep and 82.7 inches high outside, on 27.6 square feet of ground, and at 49.2 inches it is the shallowest Cube. Inside it is 77.2 by 41.3 inches and 74.8 inches high.
Is the SaunaLife CL4G insulated?
SaunaLife does not list an insulation layer or an R-value for the CL4G. The walls are 42 mm solid Thermo-Spruce, with 28 mm front and back walls.
Does the SaunaLife CL4G come with a heater guard or lighting?
No heater guard is included; SaunaLife's package contents list one for the CL5G, CL7G and CL12GCP. Harvia's KIP and The Wall manuals call for a softwood heater guardrail, so budget for one. A white LED light bar with a Wi-Fi app and a handheld remote is included.
What is the warranty on the SaunaLife CL4G?
SaunaLife's website lists a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The warranty document itself, Rev 260220, covers defects in workmanship for two years in residential use from delivery to the original retail purchaser, and does not cover sauna heaters or commercial use. Our SaunaLife warranty page summarizes the terms, and you can get a free copy of SaunaLife's written warranty by calling (888) 500-5675.
