Shipping & Delivery

Every Harvia heater and stove ships free to the contiguous 48. What changes across the range is not the cost to you but how it arrives: electric heaters come by parcel and need nobody home, while wood-burning stoves come palletized by freight, by appointment, to the curb. Call (888) 500-5675 if you want the delivery method for your exact model confirmed before you order.

Electric heaters ship by parcel. Wall-mounted and pillar heaters run roughly 29 to 55 pounds, so they travel as insured ground parcel. No delivery appointment, no liftgate, no waiting in. These are the models that ship free to the lower 48.

Wood-burning stoves ship by freight. A wood stove can weigh several hundred pounds before you add stone, so it moves palletized on an LTL carrier. Freight is included to the contiguous 48. What a pallet changes is the handling: a delivery appointment, a signature, and curbside drop rather than a carrier leaving it at the door.

Sauna stones ship separately and they are heavy. A heater takes anywhere from one box to thirteen at roughly 44 pounds a box. That weight is why stones are quoted with your order rather than folded into a headline price.

Scheduling your delivery. Parcel shipments need nobody home. For freight, the carrier calls to arrange an appointment window and someone must be there to sign. Curbside is the standard: the driver will not bring a pallet inside or up steps, so arrange help for a heavy stove.

Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada are quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.

Inspect before you sign. Check the carton or pallet for damage while the driver is still there, and note any damage on the delivery receipt at the time of signing. Then contact us the same day. A clean signature with no damage noted makes a freight claim much harder to win, and this one habit is what decides most claims.

Lead times. Harvia stock for this market moves through a US distributor, so most orders ship promptly. Some part numbers are supplied from Finland and take longer. We confirm the position for your specific model when you order rather than publishing an average that would be wrong for half the range.

Questions before you order? Ten minutes on the phone confirming freight, lead time and what else has to be on the same pallet is cheaper than a surprise after you have paid.

Warranty

Harvia covers its sauna heaters and wood-burning stoves against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Coverage runs from your date of purchase, so keep your receipt. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor for North America.

Coverage periods. Residential family use: 2 years on electric heaters, controls and steam generators including the heating elements, and 2 years on wood-burning stoves. Commercial use: 2 years on electric heaters, controls and electronics but 6 months on heating elements, and 6 months on wood-burning stoves.

Register within 30 days and Harvia adds a third year. Registration is free and needs the model, serial number and purchase date. We send you the link and your serial number with your order, so you do not have to go looking for it. Electric heaters in residential use only. Almost no retailer mentions it, and it is worth a full extra year.

What is covered. Defects in manufacture and materials. Harvia will repair the product or supply replacement parts through the importer. Replacing a part does not extend the original period.

What is not. Normal wear, improper installation, poor maintenance, failure to follow the instructions, alterations and improper use. Sauna stones are a consumable and are not covered, and stones Harvia does not specify for your model can void cover.

Professional installation is a condition. Harvia requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician and that proof of professional installation can be presented with a claim. Keep your installer's invoice with your receipt. A heater wired by the owner is outside the warranty.

Transport damage has a seven day limit. Harvia requires that you check the product for transport or storage damage on receipt, and that any damage found is reported to the seller or the carrier immediately and no later than seven days after delivery. We ask you to call us the same day because a claim is far easier to win with the damage noted on the delivery receipt, but seven days is the outside limit in Harvia’s own terms.

Changing how you use it ends the cover. Harvia states that the warranty period expires immediately if the primary intended use changes during the period, in either direction. Moving a heater from a family sauna into a gym, a rental or any other commercial setting ends the residential cover rather than converting it. Tell us before you order if the room will be used commercially, so we can quote it on the right terms from the start.

A callout for a fault that is not covered can be charged. If the defect turns out to fall outside the warranty, Harvia is entitled to charge for the work of finding it, including labour, travel and shipping at actual cost. Call us first and we will work through the symptoms with you before anything is booked, which is usually enough to tell whether it is a warranty fault, an installation issue or a stone problem.

How to make a claim. Call (888) 500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com with your order number, model and serial number, and a description of the fault. Photographs help. We open the claim with Harvia US on your behalf.

Return Policy

If a Harvia heater or stove is not right, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it. All return communication is handled by our team at Recovery Room Direct. You do not need to contact the manufacturer or the distributor yourself.

Condition required. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original packaging and all included parts. A heater that has been wired in, fired, or loaded with stones counts as installed and cannot be returned.

How to start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com with your order number. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back, and product returned without one can be refused. We will give you the RA number and the return address.

What a return costs. You get full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee that typically runs about 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard customer return, which is better than most of what we carry, where 15 to 20 percent is normal.

Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We do, and the distributor does, when the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side. Nothing is deducted for freight in those cases.

Damaged on arrival is a different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the carton and the contents, and call us the same day. Concealed damage found after signing is much harder to claim, so open the box on delivery day even if you are not installing for weeks.

Sauna stones. Stone is sold by weight and is not returnable once a box is opened. Order the quantity your model takes and ask us if you are unsure, because the amount is set by the heater rather than by the room.

Control units and accessories. Same 30 day window and the same condition requirement. A control unit that has been wired in cannot be returned.

Harvia The Wall SW60 6kW electric sauna heater

Harvia The Wall Series

Harvia The Wall SW60 6kW Electric Sauna Heater

The Wall is exactly what the name says. At 10.2 inches deep it hangs flat against the sauna wall and gives you the bench space back, with the timer and thermostat built into the base so there is no controller to buy.

At 6kW Harvia rates it for rooms up to 294 cubic feet, or 28 to 47 square feet of floor at a minimum ceiling height of 75 inches. Time and temperature are set with dials on the heater itself, so there is no separate wall control unit to buy, wire or find space for.

Harvia The Wall SW60 Features

What you are buying at 6kW

10.2 inches deep, wall hung

The whole cabinet is 17 by 10.2 by 27.6 inches and it mounts on the wall, so it takes no floor and no bench. In a small room that is often the difference between a two-person bench and a one-person bench. The trade is stone: 44 lbs against 110 in a floor heater at the same output, so it recovers a little slower after each ladle and the steam is thinner.

Timer and thermostat on board

Dials on the heater itself set the temperature and the run time, so there is no wall controller to buy, no second cable run and no extra hole in the sauna wall. That keeps the install simple and the total cost down. The trade is that you set it inside the room rather than preheating from your phone.

Steel body, ETL Listed

Steel construction, wall mounted, with a maximum thermostat setting of 194°F. Harvia publishes an ETL listing for this heater covering the United States and Canada. ETL is the mark of Intertek, an OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. Installation follows the National Electrical Code and your local code.

Sizing the SW60

Is 6kW the right output for your room?

Harvia rates this heater up to294 cubic feet

Measure length × width × height in feet. Harvia also publishes a floor area for this model, 28 to 47 square feet, at a minimum room height of 75 inches (1900 mm). The floor figure is the more useful check, because Harvia prints the same 177 cubic foot minimum against every heater in this range, which makes it a formatting artifact rather than a real lower limit.

Cold surfaces change the answer, and a glass door counts. Harvia's manuals treat brick, glass, tile and concrete as non-insulated surface and say to add 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of it, which works out near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Harvia's own worked examples: a 10 cubic meter room with a glass door behaves like a 12 cubic meter room, and the same room with a 2 by 2 meter brick wall behaves like 15. If you are close to the limit, size up rather than down.

Log walls without insulation heat slowly. Harvia advises multiplying the room volume by 1.5 before choosing output in that case.

Electrical requirements

25 amps at 240 volts single phase

Worth settling before you price the electrical work. Harvia's US manual gives the SW60 a rated amperage of 25 A at 240 volts single phase, with a minimum 10 AWG 90°C copper supply wire. A two-circuit option is offered at 16.7 A and 12 AWG per circuit, but it is an alternative rather than a requirement.

Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than a breaker size. Fixed electric heating counts as a continuous load, so your electrician sizes the conductor and the overcurrent device with headroom above that figure, to the National Electrical Code and to whatever edition your local authority has adopted.

The heater is hardwired. The US manual calls for copper wire rated to 194°F (90°C) within the sauna walls, run in seal tight conduit between the heater and the wall, and it is explicit that pigtails and plugs are not allowed in the sauna room.

Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Harvia's warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice.

What's in the box

Included with your The Wall SW60

  • Harvia The Wall SW60 sauna heater
  • Wall mounting hardware
  • Installation and operation manual
  • Timer and thermostat built into the heater
  • Harvia manufacturer warranty, 2 years residential and 3 years when registered within 30 days, subject to professional installation

Sauna stones are required and are not included. Harvia rates the SW60 to hold up to 44 lbs of stone. Order 1 box of Harvia AC3000 at 44 lbs a box, which fills the rated capacity almost exactly, so order a spare box if you want extra to choose from as stone varies in shape and breaks down over time. Harvia specifies angular split-face stone 2 to 4 inches across for this heater. Stone that is too small, too flat or the wrong shape packs tightly and restricts the airflow the heater depends on, and Harvia's terms exclude damage caused by stone it does not recommend. Call (888) 500-5675 and we will add stones to your order.

Harvia The Wall SW60 FAQ

Questions buyers ask about the SW60

What size sauna room does the Harvia The Wall SW60 heat?

Harvia rates the SW60 for rooms up to 294 cubic feet, or 28 to 47 square feet of floor at a minimum ceiling height of 75 inches. Multiply your room length, width and height in feet to get the volume. Non-insulated surface counts, and so does a glass door: Harvia adds 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of brick, glass, tile or concrete, which is near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Add that before you compare against the range.

What is the difference between the SW and SWS versions?

Finish only. SW is Harvia's BlackSteel finish and SWS is stainless steel. Same output, same dimensions, same stone capacity, same wiring and the same manual covers both. Choose on how it will look against your sauna wall.

Does a wall-mounted heater perform as well as a floor heater?

For heat output, yes: 6 kW is 6 kW and the room reaches temperature the same way. The difference is stone. The Wall holds 44 lbs against about 110 lbs in a floor heater of the same output, and stone is the thermal buffer. Less of it means the room swings a little more on the thermostat, recovers slightly slower after each ladle, and gives a thinner burst of steam. In a small room used by one or two people that is a fair trade for the floor space and the bench you get back.

Does the SW60 need a separate control unit?

No. The timer and thermostat are built into the heater itself, so there is no wall controller to buy, no second cable run and no extra penetration in the sauna wall. You set the temperature and the run time on the heater itself. The trade is that you cannot start it remotely, so if preheating from your phone matters, look at a model that takes a Harvia Xenio control instead.

How many circuits does the SW60 require?

One. Harvia's US manual gives the SW60 a rated amperage of 25 A at 240 volts single phase, with a minimum 10 AWG 90 degree Celsius copper supply wire. A two-circuit option is offered at 16.7 A and 12 AWG per circuit, but it is an alternative rather than a requirement. Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than breaker size, so your electrician sizes the overcurrent device above that figure.

Are sauna stones included with the The Wall SW60?

No. Stones are required for operation and are sold separately. Harvia rates the SW60 to hold up to 44 lbs of stone, and the practical order is 1 box of Harvia AC3000 at 44 lbs a box, which fills the rated capacity almost exactly, so order a spare box if you want extra to choose from as stone varies in shape and breaks down over time. Harvia specifies angular split-face stone 2 to 4 inches across for this heater. Stone that is too small, too flat or the wrong shape packs tightly and restricts the airflow the heater depends on, and Harvia's terms exclude damage caused by stone it does not recommend.

Can I install the Harvia The Wall SW60 myself?

No. The SW60 is hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician to the National Electrical Code and local requirements. Harvia's published warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice. The US manual specifies copper wire rated to 194 degrees Fahrenheit within the sauna walls, run in seal tight conduit, and states that pigtails and plugs are not allowed in the sauna room.

What warranty comes with this heater?

Harvia covers this heater for 2 years in residential family use, including the heating elements, under the Limited Warranty for Harvia Products dated 18 November 2025. Register the heater with Harvia within 30 days of purchase and Harvia adds a third year, for 3 years in total. Registration is free and takes a couple of minutes. We send you the link and your serial number with your order, so you do not have to go looking for it. In commercial or other non-consumer use the period is 2 years on the heater, controls and electronics, and 6 months on the heating elements. Cover runs from your date of purchase, so keep your receipt. Harvia also requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician and that you can show proof of professional installation, so keep your installer's paperwork with it. Transport or storage damage is separate and must be reported no later than seven days after delivery. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor and handles claims directly, and we open the claim on your behalf. Full terms are on our Harvia warranty policy page.

Is the The Wall SW60 listed for use in the United States?

Harvia publishes an ETL listing for this heater covering the United States and Canada. ETL is the mark of Intertek, an OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. Installation follows the National Electrical Code and your local code.

Does the SW60 need a GFCI breaker?

Harvia's manual is explicit that the power feed should not be connected through a GFI or residual current device. Local code may require GFCI protection anyway, particularly outdoors or in a wet location, and where the two conflict your inspector decides. Settle it with your electrician before the rough-in rather than at final inspection.
