Your LeisureCraft sauna, plunge tub, hot tub or outdoor shower is handcrafted to order in Melancthon, Ontario and ships by insured LTL freight. Freight and all cross-border charges are included in the price — no separate shipping cost, no customs bill at the door.
Build time, not ship time. Every unit is made to order, so each product page shows an estimated build date rather than a delivery date. Transit is additional, and build dates move with production volume — peak season runs February through May. We confirm your date in writing once your order is placed.
What the carrier does. The freight company calls to schedule an appointment and delivers to the end of your driveway or the curb, usually on an 18-wheel truck. The driver will not unload your crate and will not back into your driveway. Check that a truck that size can reach your property before you order.
CRITICAL — you are responsible for unloading. Crates run 6 to 14 feet long and 800 to 1,600 pounds depending on the model, with the largest builds heavier still. If your crate is 84 inches or shorter, the carrier may have a liftgate to help lower it. Longer than that there is no liftgate, which covers most of the barrel and cabin range. You will need a forklift with extensions (crates lift from the end), a trailer to collect from the terminal, or a crew on hand. We can arrange a tilt-tow truck for $1,250 if you would rather not. Plan this before you order and we will work it out with you.
Inspect before you sign. If the crate arrives damaged, accept it, photograph everything before moving it, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading. Then call us within 72 hours. A clean signature releases the carrier and makes a claim nearly impossible to win.
Good to know. Changing your shipping address after the unit leaves the factory costs $350 — free before it ships, so tell us early. If a delivery appointment stalls because calls go unreturned, the terminal charges $35 per day in storage. Both are manufacturer charges passed through at cost. Heaters and accessories ship separately and usually arrive sooner.

Warranty
All products designed and manufactured by Dundalk LeisureCraft — including the Canadian Timber Collection — are covered against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for 5 years from the day you receive the product.
What's covered. Replacement of defective parts. Service, labor and installation costs are expressly excluded by the manufacturer, and a replacement part does not extend the original 5-year period.
What's not. Normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, natural weather conditions, and failure to follow the installation and care instructions.
Heaters, stoves and chillers. These sit on LeisureCraft's separate component schedule, and LeisureCraft honors the component manufacturer's terms directly — same coverage, same duration. Electric heaters carry 3 years (elements and rocks excluded; HUUM also excludes sensors). Wood-burning stoves run 2 years to 5 years, with LeisureCraft's own Timberglow at 5, excluding the glass door, ash grate and rocks; LeisureCraft chimney kits carry 5 years with no exclusions. Chillers carry 1 to 2 years. Component coverage is parts only. We confirm the exact term for your configuration in writing before you order.
Use a licensed electrician. All electrical connections on heaters and chillers must be made by a licensed electrician, or LeisureCraft voids the component warranty. Improper installation is excluded from the 5-year sauna warranty as well.
If you've seen a 3-year figure. Some older listings and in-box manuals still show 3 years for the Canadian Timber Collection. LeisureCraft's current published policy is 5 years, and that's the coverage we confirm in writing with every order.
Residential use, and registration. The 5-year term is written for normal residential use; LeisureCraft publishes no commercial warranty. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, hotel or rental? Call us first and we'll get the factory's position in writing. We send the manufacturer's registration link with your order confirmation — registering keeps future claims straightforward.
How to make a claim. Contact us — as your authorized dealer we handle the claim with the manufacturer for you. Email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com or call (888) 500-5675 with your order number and photos of the issue.

LeisureCraft Canadian Timber products are handcrafted for your specific order in Melancthon, Ontario. Because each unit is built to order, the manufacturer does not accept returns or exchanges — so please call us before you buy if anything is unclear. We would far rather answer questions first than have you end up with the wrong sauna.
Cancellations. Production is scheduled as soon as your order is placed. Contact us as early as you can at (888) 500-5675 — if your build hasn't started we'll do everything we can to cancel at no cost. If it has, we'll tell you plainly where you stand.
Damaged on arrival? You're covered. Transit damage is handled by replacement, not return. Accept the shipment, photograph the damage before moving anything, and write "Crate arrived open/damaged — Possible Hidden Damage" on the Bill of Lading before signing. Call us within 72 hours and the manufacturer ships replacement wood or components at no charge. Damage reported after a clean signature is very difficult to claim — this step is what protects you.
Five-year residential warranty. Products manufactured by LeisureCraft carry a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for five years from the day you receive them. Valid claims are resolved with replacement parts at no charge.
What it doesn't cover. The warranty is parts only — service, labour and installation are expressly excluded, and a replaced part doesn't restart the five years. It excludes normal wear and tear, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, weather damage, and failure to follow the care instructions. Cedar is a natural material: seasonal movement and colour change to silver-grey are normal and are not defects.
Two exceptions worth knowing. The warranty is written for residential use — if you're buying for a gym, clinic, spa or rental property, call us first so we can confirm your coverage in writing. And sauna heaters are not LeisureCraft-made: Harvia, HUUM and Narvi units carry their own manufacturer warranties, and we'll point you to the right terms.

The Starlight is the wood fired hot tub for people who want hot water from a fire, not from a cord
It is a cedar tub 83 and 3/4 inches long with an aluminum wood burning heater standing inside it at one end. Light a fire in the firebox and, in LeisureCraft's words, you are soaking in less than three hours. The water passes through the heater body and comes back warm. No pump, no element, no jets, nothing to plug in.
It holds 233 gallons, arrives fully assembled with the heater bolted in, and its skirt is white cedar to match the Canadian Timber saunas. The one choice is the interior, 5052 aluminum or white plastic, made at the top of this page; the step and the cedar roll-up cover are chosen there too.

LeisureCraft publishes no film of the Starlight on its own. This is its own tour of the Canadian Timber range the Starlight is built in, the same white cedar as the saunas and showers.
Where the Starlight earns its place as a wood fired cedar hot tub, and what it is not
A hot tub is hot water and a way of keeping it hot. Most answer with an electric heater, a pump, jets and a cord to a dedicated circuit. The Starlight answers with a fire: what LeisureCraft lists for it is a firebox, a chimney and 233 gallons, and no electrical connection, because there is none to make.
It is the hot counterpart of the LeisureCraft cold plunges we carry: the same builder, white cedar outside, and the same arrival as the Baltic and Polar plunge tubs: fully assembled, and you fit the drain valve. Everything we carry from LeisureCraft is in the Dundalk LeisureCraft collection, the cold plunges in our cold plunge range and this one in our hot tub range.
What it is not: it is not a spa. No jets, no pump, no filter, no thermostat: the temperature is set by how much wood you add and when you stop. If you want jets or electric heat, we do not carry one, and the Starlight is not it. Nor is it a cold plunge: for cold water, the Flow, the Baltic and the Polar are built for it.

The Starlight's internal aluminum wood burning hot tub heater, and why the fire stands inside the tub
LeisureCraft's drawing puts the heater inside the tub at one end, behind a partition, with the bather area running 66 and 3/4 inches from the far wall to that partition. Its footprint is 24 and 1/4 by 11 and 3/4 inches, the firebox is 35 and 1/2 inches tall, and the opening you feed is 10 by 10 inches and 35 and 1/4 deep.
Low on the heater's tub-side wall the drawing marks three water pass-through holes: tub water moves through the heater body, past the fire, and back into the bather area, with no pump moving it. LeisureCraft's words for the arrangement: designed intentionally with an internal wood heater for optimal heat properties and safety. The firebox lid doubles as the damper.
A 50 and 1/2 inch chimney stack slides into the stove after the tub is placed, above a 36 inch perforated shield section. From the ground the cap is 110 inches up, against 29 and 1/4 to the rim: the number to hold against your eaves, your trees and your local code. Four bolts hold the heater in; LeisureCraft's sheet says to lift it out if the tub needs to be lighter to carry, and, in its capitals, never to operate it without water in the tub. None of this is a priced step: on the Starlight the heater is part of the tub.
White cedar outside, western red cedar inside, and the liner choice: 5052 aluminum or white plastic
LeisureCraft builds its Canadian Timber saunas and showers from Eastern White Cedar, and the Starlight's skirt is white cedar so that, in LeisureCraft's words, it matches all of them. Inside, the slat floor and the two backrests are western red cedar. The skirt is vertical boards, 26 and 1/2 inches tall and 80 and 1/2 long on the drawing: a framed tub, not a barrel, so there are no bands to tighten.

Red cedar floor and backrests
You do not sit on the liner. A slatted red cedar floor lies in the tub, and a slatted backrest pins in at each end of the bather area, one against the heater partition.
Left bare, or stained
Cedar left outside grays over a season or two. LeisureCraft says the exterior may be stained if you want to keep the color.
The liner is the one decision on this page. The price you see is the white plastic build; choosing the aluminum interior at the top of this page adds it to your order as its own line. Everything else is the same tub.

Heating the Starlight: wood, chimney, and what it asks of you
LeisureCraft publishes a page on how to heat a wood fired hot tub, and it is the page to read first. Its sequence: fill the tub first, always, or you risk the firebox combusting; crumpled paper in the bottom of the heater, kindling on top; very dry wood; lid open to give the fire air, then the lid to control it. When the water is within ten degrees of the temperature you want, usually 101 to 104 F in LeisureCraft's notes, stop adding wood, put the lid on, and let it rise the rest of the way on its own.
The problem LeisureCraft says its tubs have is not getting hot but getting too hot. If it does, add cold water with a hose and stir with a paddle. Once the water is up, LeisureCraft says it holds its temperature through the day on an armful of wood and drops five to ten degrees overnight; it recommends a cover to cut the loss, and a log in the morning brings it back.
Water comes from a hose or, in LeisureCraft's own suggestion for off-grid sites, from a lake, stream or pond, and goes back the same way so long as no chemicals went in. The two tier step, the roll-up cover, the tub shelf, the water skimmer and the thermometer are chosen at the top of this page, and the 24 inch canoe paddle and the aluminum ash scoop are there too, in the same accessories step.
Why we still ask you to call
The liner, the step and the cover are chosen and priced at the top of this page, so nothing waits on a quote. The call checks your choices against your site: where a 110 inch chimney will stand relative to eaves, trees and your local rules on outdoor burning, where 233 gallons will come from and drain to, whether an 84 inch crate can reach the spot. LeisureCraft accepts no returns, so five minutes on (888) 500-5675 is the cheapest insurance on the page.
This is a wood fire beside hot water. Never light the heater without water in the tub, LeisureCraft's own instruction in capitals, and burn only very dry wood. The firebox lid, stack and shield are hot while the fire is lit and long after: keep children away from the stove end and never leave them unattended near the water or the fire. LeisureCraft publishes no chimney clearance figure, so take the 110 inch cap height to your local code and your insurer before you site it. If the tub will stand unused in freezing weather, drain it; weather damage is excluded from the warranty.
What a week with the Starlight actually looks like
The fire, and the rhythm it sets
A wood fired tub is not on demand. From cold you light it and wait, less than three hours by LeisureCraft's figure, which is why owners fall into the rhythm LeisureCraft itself describes: an armful of wood holds the heat through the day, a cover holds most of it overnight, a log in the morning brings it back.
Hot water and cold water
The Starlight is the hot half of a pairing: a wood fired tub beside a cold plunge, heat then cold in one session. The Flow Cold Plunge and the Baltic Plunge Tub are the cold half from the same builder, and our contrast therapy protocol sets out the timings people actually use.
Winter
The fire does not care what the air is doing; the water does. A colder fill in colder air takes longer, so allow more time in January than in June, and a cover earns its place whenever nobody is in. If the tub will stand unused through a hard freeze, drain it.
Three people who choose the Starlight over a plug-in spa or a plunge
The one with no power where the tub is going
A dock, a cottage, a clearing: anywhere a dedicated circuit is not coming. LeisureCraft's own heating notes describe filling the tub from a lake or stream and heating it with wood. It needs a level base, firewood and water.
The one who already has the plunge and wants the hot half
You have, or are buying, a Flow, a Baltic or a Polar, and you want the heat to go with it from the same builder in the same skirt. The Starlight is the only hot tub LeisureCraft sends us.
The one who wants the fire to be part of it
You would rather tend a fire than set a dial: lighting it, feeding it, watching the thermometer. If you want to press a button and get in, this is not your tub, and we do not carry the one that is.

LeisureCraft sends us no other hot tub, so there is no same-brand column beside this one: LeisureCraft's own table and drawing, and nothing a dealer added.

LeisureCraft publishes no weight for the tub alone, no filled weight, no water depth at the fill line and no liner thickness, and we print none of them.
What the Starlight costs to use, once it is in the yard
We are not going to invent a cost per session, because we do not know what you paid or what your firewood costs. What we can give you is the denominator; five years is the warranty term.
Divide your delivered price by 780 and you have your real cost per session. What recurs is firewood and water.

Setting up the Starlight
There is no build, and LeisureCraft's sheet is short. Tools, in its words: adjustable wrench, pipe wrench, thread tape, cordless drill, Phillips and Robertson driver bits. In the sheet's order:
- Place the tub. If it needs to be lighter to carry, take out the four heater bolts and lift the heater out.
- Gently tip the tub on its side and fit the drain: three wraps of tape on each thread, the short pipe into the hole in the tub bottom, the elbow to the side hole, then the long pipe and the shut-off valve, and the garden-hose connector if it is on your order.
- Tip it back and refit the heater.
- Peel the film off the chimney and slide it into the stove.
- Slide in each backrest and drop in the pins.
- If you ordered the cover, its brackets go on the end opposite the heater.
- Close the valve, fill, and only then light the first fire.

The Starlight delivery, and what to have ready
Freight included
Freight and all cross-border charges are in the price, curbside to the contiguous 48 states. The crate is 84 by 45 by 44 inches and 701 lb, exactly at the 84 inch liftgate threshold in our LeisureCraft shipping policy, not under it: we confirm on the order call whether yours can be a liftgate drop, as in LeisureCraft's own film of a tailgate delivery, or needs equipment or several people.
Built to order
Nothing is stocked. Your Starlight joins the production queue in Melancthon once your order is placed, and we confirm the build and ship window in writing as soon as the factory schedules it.
What it sits on
The base has to be flat and load bearing across the full 83 and 3/4 by 35 and 3/4 inch footprint, under the tub, 233 gallons and the people in it: a concrete pad, compacted stone under level pavers, or a deck someone has sized for the load. LeisureCraft publishes no filled weight, so that sum is yours to have done.
Inspect before you sign
Photograph any damage and write it on the Bill of Lading before you sign, then call us within 72 hours. A clean signature makes a freight claim hard to win.
Before the truck comes
- A level, load-bearing base the full 83 3/4 by 35 3/4 inches

A few situations add cost, such as a tilt-tow truck, an address change after the crate ships, or terminal storage; all are listed on our LeisureCraft shipping policy. Because each tub is built for your order, LeisureCraft accepts no returns or exchanges at any point; read our return policy before ordering.
Care once it is up
LeisureCraft publishes no water care schedule, so we will say what the parts ask for. Keep a cover on between soaks, skim, and drain and wipe the liner down when the water stops looking like water you would get into. Empty the firebox of ash when it is cold. The skirt can be left to weather or stained.
Before you get in. Hot water loads the heart and the circulation, and a soak in the Starlight supports a recovery routine, not a treatment. Speak to your doctor first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or take medication that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or your sense of heat; if you have any health condition, ask first.
In the water. Check it with a thermometer, never soak after alcohol, and get out at the first sign of dizziness.
The fire and the children. Never leave a lit fire unattended or light it without water in the tub. As with any body of water, treat the tub as a drowning risk for children: supervise them, keep them away from the stove end, and keep it covered when not in use.
The questions buyers actually ask about the Starlight
Is the wood burning heater included, or is it a separate option?
Included. LeisureCraft's description says the tub comes with an internal heater and its configurator for this model has no heater group; the tub ships with the heater bolted in and the chimney in the crate.
How long does it take to heat, and how hot does it get?
LeisureCraft's figure is less than three hours from lighting the fire, and its heating notes give the usual bathing temperature as 101 to 104 F. It publishes no maximum as a spec, and says the challenge is not getting hot but getting too hot: stop adding wood within ten degrees of your target, and if it overshoots, add cold water and stir.
Does the Starlight need electricity?
No. There is no pump, no element, no jets, no filter and no control panel; the heat is a wood fire in an aluminum firebox inside the tub, and the water moves through the heater body on its own.
Aluminum or white plastic interior: which should I choose?
The aluminum interior is the one LeisureCraft's page is written around, and its default for this model; the white plastic interior is the configurator's second option, in the same tub with the same heater, cover and warranty. LeisureCraft publishes no thickness for either, and no material grade for the white plastic, so we will not choose for you on those grounds.
How many people fit in it?
LeisureCraft's catalog calls it a two person tub; its web page gives no count. The bather area is 66 and 3/4 inches long and 33 wide, with a backrest at each end: two adults, facing each other, and we will not call it more.
What wood does it burn, and am I allowed to burn where I live?
Very dry wood, in LeisureCraft's words, split to fit a 10 by 10 inch opening 35 and 1/4 inches deep; it publishes no consumption figure beyond an armful a day. Whether you may burn wood outdoors, and how far a chimney must stand from a structure, is a question for your township and your insurer.
Can it stay outside in winter, and will the water freeze?
The tub is built for the yard, and LeisureCraft says it drops five to ten degrees overnight and recommends a cover to cut the loss. It publishes no freeze guidance for this model, so ours is plain: if the tub will stand unused through a hard freeze, drain it; weather damage is excluded from the warranty.
How do I drain it, and is a garden hose adapter included?
Through the shut-off valve you fit to the bottom of the tub before the first fill. LeisureCraft's assembly sheet lists the garden-hose connector as a part fitted if ordered, so we confirm it is on your order before the tub ships.
Can I pay for this over time?
Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout, and APPROVE offers financing on larger orders including business and commercial buyers. Terms depend on the amount financed and on approval, so the exact offer is the one presented to you.
What happens if I change my mind after ordering?
Every Starlight is built to your order, so LeisureCraft does not accept returns or exchanges at any point. If your build has not started we will do everything we can to cancel at no cost. Our LeisureCraft return policy sets out where you stand.
How long from order to delivery?
It depends on the production queue rather than on us. We buy directly from the manufacturer in Melancthon, Ontario: LeisureCraft gives us an estimated build date the day we place your order, and we confirm your build and ship window in writing once the factory schedules it.
Is a wood fired hot tub safe for me?
For most healthy adults, in sensible sessions at a checked temperature, yes, but hot water genuinely loads the heart and circulation, so this is a question for your doctor rather than for us: ask first if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or take medication that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or your sense of heat. Never soak after alcohol.
What does the warranty cover, and is it valid in a rental or a gym?
LeisureCraft's 5 year residential limited warranty covers the tub against defects in materials and workmanship, parts only; service, labor, installation, wear, improper installation or maintenance and weather damage are excluded. If the Starlight is going into a rental, a gym or any commercial setting, call us before you order: commercial coverage is not the same thing and we will confirm the terms in writing.
