How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free shipping to the contiguous 48 states on every Saunum heater, AirSolo and AirIQ control, and on any order above our free shipping threshold. A smaller accessory ordered below the threshold carries a flat charge, shown at checkout before you pay.
Ships from Wheeling, Illinois. We do not ship Saunum to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Heaters come by freight. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect ship palletized. The carrier calls to book a window, someone has to sign, and the delivery is curbside rather than inside, so plan for two people to carry it in.
Smaller items come by parcel. The AirSolo, the AirIQ control, stones and safety rails travel by ground parcel with no appointment, and they can arrive on a different day from the heater.
Stones ship in their own boxes. 33 pounds each: 4 boxes for an Air or Air Perfect, 6 for an Air L. Stones added from a Saunum heater's page ship free with that heater.
When it ships. The estimate on each product page is the distributor's usual dispatch time for stocked items. We confirm stock with the distributor when you order, and if your model is out of stock we tell you the new date before anything ships. Working to a deadline? Ask us first.
If it arrives damaged. Note it on the delivery paperwork, photograph the carton and the contents, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the heater is installed. Saunum's warranty excludes transport damage. Refuse a punctured or crushed pallet and call us while the driver is there.
Not included: the electrical work. A certified electrician hardwires the heater to 240 V through the AirIQ control unit, and the AirSolo to 120 V.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Heaters: 2 years in a private sauna. The Air, Air L and Air Perfect, from your purchase date. The manual that ships with the heater gives no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental.
AutoLeil. 2 years in a private sauna, labor excluded.
AirSolo and AirIQ. 2 years in a home sauna and 1 year in a commercial or public one. The AirSolo cover includes labor and spare parts. The AirIQ cover is parts, for the first installation and the original purchaser.
Excluded on the heaters. Labor, the heating elements and the salt spheres, plus wear, transport damage, misuse, improper installation, repairs outside Saunum's repair partners, and stones or salt spheres Saunum does not recommend.
Two conditions decide every claim. A completed installation report goes in with the claim, and the product must have been connected by a qualified electrician. The report form is in the back of the manual, so keep a copy.
Delivery damage. Report it within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs and before installing, because transport damage is not a warranty matter.
Who handles it. Claims go to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands, and we take them there for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, model, serial number and photographs.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. On a Saunum heater, AirSolo, AirIQ control or accessory that is new, uninstalled and resalable, in the original packaging with all parts. We handle the return, so you do not contact Saunum or the distributor.
Installed means final. A heater that has been wired in, switched on or loaded with stones cannot go back, and neither can an AirIQ or AirSolo that has been wired in, or an accessory that has been fitted.
What it costs. Full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee of 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind. We cover it when the cause is shipping damage or our error. We never deduct the cost of free shipping from your refund, but shipping you paid at checkout is not refunded on a change of mind return.
Damaged on arrival. Note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours of delivery, before the product is installed.
Stones. Not returnable once a box is opened, since stone is sold by weight.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee before we send the order to the distributor. After that an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it when we are not charged ourselves.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675 for a Return Authorization number before anything ships back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 7 business days of the return being received and inspected.

The short answer
Saunum Air L 15: the largest-room heater in the Saunum line we carry
If your sauna measures 530 to 812 cubic feet, this is the Saunum for it. The Air L 15 puts out 15,000 watts and uses a fan to return ceiling heat to the benches.
That reach comes with the heaviest electrical demand in the family: 62.50 amps on a 240 volt single phase circuit. It still runs straight from the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control, whose power unit Saunum's current US manual rates for heaters up to 15.2 kW. Every size and family is listed under Saunum sauna heaters.
The room
530 to 812 cu ft
15 to 23 cubic meters, sized by Saunum's own volume method.
At bench and floor level
Air from the top, out at the bottom
Saunum says its fan moves the hot layer under the ceiling down to where the benches and floor are.
Close to the wall
2 in clearance
With the closed basket it stands 2 inches from wood at the sides and front, keeping the floor for benches.

What gets checked when an Air L goes in
Saunum's checklist for the Air and Air L: the element covers, the flue cap, where the temperature sensor goes, a heating test, the salt tray, the stone baskets and the safety distances.
Saunum narrates the distances in millimeters, with inches on screen. Safety distances change with the model, its power and the basket you choose, so follow the manual for your heater.

Will it fit your room
Saunum Air L 15 room size: 530 to 812 cubic feet
The Air L 15 needs a room whose effective volume is between 530 and 812 cubic feet, and a ceiling at least 73 inches high.
| Room | 530 to 812 cu ft, or 15 to 23 m³ |
|---|---|
| Ceiling, minimum | 73 in (1850 mm) |
| Telescopic flue | Heater stands 73 to 95 in tall |
| Clear above the basket | 40 in (1010 mm) to the ceiling |
| Wiring | 240 V, single phase, 62.50 A |

Saunum's room calculation
The volume method comes from the December 2025 edition of Saunum's Air L manual. Start with length, width and ceiling height in feet, multiplied together. A sauna of solid logs, planks or staves with no inner insulation counts at one and a half times that. Each square foot of glass, stone, tile, concrete or brick adds 3.0 cubic feet. Where the result falls between two heater sizes, Saunum says to go up.
Sizing an Air L 15 room, step by step
Consider a room 11 feet by 8 feet with an 8 foot ceiling. The base volume is 704 cubic feet. A glass front of 30 square feet adds 90 more, so the effective volume is 794: well past the Air L 13's 565 and inside the Air L 15's 812. The sauna heater finder handles this sum for any room, and the sauna heater buyer's guide explains the wiring.
Too small, or too big, for the Air L 15
Below 530 cubic feet, step down to the Air L 13 or Air L 10, both laid out in the Air L family table on this page. In the 530 to 565 band the Air L 13 is rated too, but where two sizes both fit, Saunum's manual says to choose the larger, which is the Air L 15. Above 812 the Air L 15 is out of range and no Saunum heater we carry is rated for the room. Saunum's manual also cautions that a heater too big for the room heats the air quickly but leaves the stones short of the heat needed for steam.
Fan and airflow
Why the Saunum Air L 15 has a fan, and how it is run
The bigger the room, the bigger the gap between the air at the ceiling and the air at your feet. The Air L 15 is built to work on that gap.
From the ceiling to the floor
A flue of telescoping sections climbs from the top of the heater to a cap fixed into the corner of wall and ceiling. Switch the fan on and it pulls air from up there, down the flue, and out through a grille at the very bottom of the heater, below bench level. Saunum says the effect is steam carried throughout the sauna instead of trapped at the top.
Running the fan
There are three fan speeds, picked on the AirIQ panel. Saunum's manual has the fan off during warm up, which it says heats the room faster and keeps the benches from overheating, though the AirIQ can start it itself to guard against overheating. Turn it on as you go in. If you prefer the heat layered, you choose the speed, and the lowest setting gives the gentlest airflow. On the heater's left side, a cool air intake valve set about one third open when shipped lets you cool the outgoing air by opening it or warm it by closing it.
Safety cut-outs and salt
The fan has its own thermal protection: if the room at the heater's base goes over 176 °F it stops, and it starts again when the temperature falls. The heater shuts off at 257 °F (125 °C) at the sensor, and a limiter in the stone basket adds a second cut-out. Seven Himalayan salt spheres come with the heater and fit behind the outlet grille; Saunum says using them is optional and the heater works without them.

Basket choice
Saunum Air L 15 basket options and stone load
Order the Air L 15 with a closed black steel basket or an open stainless steel one, for the same price. Each sets its own clearances.
| Air L 15 Closed basket | Air L 15 Open basket | |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Black steel | Stainless steel |
| Stone capacity | About 180 lb in 6 boxes | About 190 lb in 6 boxes |
| Minimum side distance | 2 in | 8 in |
| Minimum front distance | 2 in | 10 in |
Which basket for the Air L 15
The distances apply to wood, textiles and other combustible material. A closed basket can stand 2 inches from them on three sides; an open basket needs 8 at each side and 10 at the front, in return for visible stone and 10 extra pounds of it. Both may stand with only their back against the paneling, and a wall niche for either can be at most 3.9 inches deep.
Loading the stone
Saunum ships the heater without stone. Wash and dry the stones and build up from the bottom, largest first, leaving air paths around the elements. Keep stones off the elements and below the basket's top. Saunum wants rounded stone of 2 to 4 inches and warns off light ceramic types. Six boxes of Saunum olivine diabase, 33 pounds each, are a buy box row and ship free by parcel.

Electrical and room checks
Before you order the Saunum Air L 15: power first, then the room
At 62.50 amps this is the largest load in the Saunum line we carry. Settle these with your electrician and builder now.
- Panel and service capacityAsk your electrician to confirm the panel and service can carry a 62.50 amp continuous load alongside the rest of the house
- A dedicated 240 V circuitSingle phase; your licensed electrician sets breaker and cable size under the NEC and Saunum's manual
- No GFCISaunum's manual rules out a GFCI breaker on the heater
- Room height73 inches or more, with the flue cap against the ceiling
- DistancesClosed basket 2 inches at sides and front, open basket 8 and 10; 20 inches clear before the fan outlet
- Bench above the outletThe bench's underside sits above the air outlet's top edge, and the outlet stays unobstructed
- Sensor position2 inches below the ceiling on a wall, never above the heater, and no closer than 20 inches to a vent, window or door
- Ventilation sized to the roomIntake within 12 inches of the floor close to the heater; exhaust 24 to 47 inches high and as far away as possible; the air changed six times an hour
- The AirIQ Wi-Fi controlRequired; add the Saunum AirIQ Wi-Fi control in the buy box. Its power unit switches the 15,000 W heater directly, and its panel goes outside the sauna room
Running cost
Saunum Air L 15 electricity cost per hour and per year
The inputs are 15 kilowatts at full draw and the EIA's June 2026 US residential average of 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, from Electric Power Monthly.
An hour at full power
$2.75
15 kilowatt hours.
A 2 hour session night
$5.50
30 kilowatt hours, warm up included.
3 nights a week, a year
$858.31
4,680 kilowatt hours over 156 evenings.
The heater does not stay at full draw. At the set temperature the thermostat cycles the elements, so a real evening costs less than these ceilings. Your own bill's rate gives a closer figure.

The day before
Measure the route to the sauna and arrange help to carry the heater.
When it lands
Look at every carton before signing. Photograph dents, holes or damp and record them on the delivery receipt.
Before wiring
Bring a cold-shipped heater up to room temperature first. Transport below 23 °F can trip the overheat limiter.

| Home sauna | 2 years from the purchase date |
|---|---|
| Commercial or public sauna | None in the manual that ships with the heater, so no promise from us |
| Remedy | Repair or replacement of parts with material or assembly defects, Saunum's choice |

Filing a claim
Saunum prints the installation report form in its manual. Your electrician completes it at commissioning, checking the elements and the three fan speeds, and it goes with any claim to Saunum's US technical support at Bathing Brands. Saunum's recommended repair partner carries out repairs. Because labor is excluded, budget for the electrician's time on any warranty visit. Our Saunum warranty policy page holds the full wording.
Certification
The Air L 15 is not named on the 2023 UL certificate we hold, which lists the Air 5 and Air 7; Saunum's Air L 15 manual carries the cULus mark under the same file, E525245.
FAQ
Saunum Air L 15 FAQ
How large a sauna can the Saunum Air L 15 heat?
Up to 812 cubic feet of effective volume, from a minimum of 530, under a ceiling of at least 73 inches. No other Saunum model we carry is rated past 565. Glass, tile and stone surfaces add 3.0 cubic feet per square foot to the room's measured volume.
How many amps does the Saunum Air L 15 draw?
62.50 amps at 240 volts, single phase, from a 15,000 W rating. Breaker and cable for its dedicated circuit are for a licensed electrician to size, following Saunum's manual and the National Electrical Code, and a GFCI breaker is not allowed.
Does the AirIQ run the Saunum Air L 15 directly?
Yes. Saunum's current US AirIQ manual (August 2026, as in 2025) rates the power unit for heaters up to 15.2 kW, and the Air L 15 is 15,000 W. An earlier 2023 edition of that manual capped it at 12 kW and called for a contactor box above that, so we confirm which edition ships with your order, and your electrician follows the manual in the box. The AirIQ is listed with our sauna controls.
Will my electrical panel handle a Saunum Air L 15?
Only an electrician can answer that for your house. The Air L 15 adds a 62.50 amp load at 240 volts, which may need spare capacity in the panel or a service upgrade. Have the panel checked before you order, since it can change the cost of the project.
Is the Saunum Air L 15 suitable for a very tall sauna?
The flue extends to an overall height of 95 inches, and Saunum's manual wants the intake cap against the ceiling for efficient running. Saunum states no maximum ceiling height, so if your ceiling is above 95 inches, call us before you order.
Open or closed basket on the Saunum Air L 15?
Same price. The closed black steel basket holds about 180 pounds of stone and stands 2 inches from combustible walls at the sides and front. The open stainless steel basket holds about 190 pounds with the stone visible, and needs 8 inches at each side and 10 in front.
What does the Saunum Air L 15 cost to run?
At full draw and the June 2026 US average of 18.34 cents per kilowatt hour, about $2.75 an hour and $5.50 for a 2 hour evening. Three such evenings a week come to $858.31 a year. The thermostat cycles the elements once the room is hot, so actual use costs less.
Do I still need intake and exhaust vents with the Saunum Air L 15?
Yes, Saunum's manual makes both mandatory. Put the intake within 12 inches of the floor, under or next to the heater, and the exhaust 24 to 47 inches above the floor and as far from the heater as possible, so the air changes six times an hour. The fan stirs the room's air; it does not supply fresh air.
Is the Saunum Air L 15's fan loud?
There is no decibel figure from Saunum. The manual says some sound is normal whenever the fan runs and suggests a lower speed for less of it; a metallic or irregular noise means the fan should be looked at.
Does the Saunum Air L 15 warranty cover commercial use?
The manual that ships with the Air L 15 gives two years for a private sauna and no commercial term, so ask us before buying for a gym, spa or rental; we cannot promise any cover there. Within the home term, Saunum leaves out labor, the elements and the salt spheres, and a claim has to include the installation report.
One last thing
Ready for the Saunum Air L 15?
Choose your basket above, closed or open, then put the Air L 15 in your cart. The buy box carries the AirIQ control and the six boxes of stone as rows. Freight brings the heater to your curb at no charge; the AirIQ and stone boxes ship separately by parcel, also free, and can arrive on a different day. One heater for the whole room, and our sauna heater financing offers monthly payments. Once your electrician has signed off the panel and the circuit, you are set; if not, call us and we will work through it.
