Width × height of each glass or tile surface, added together. A 2 × 6.5 ft glass door is 13 sq ft.
Measure the inside of the room, in feet. For a barrel sauna or a sauna kit, go with the heater size the sauna’s manufacturer recommends.
Lets the stove sit closer to a combustible wall.
Heats washing water on top of the stove, on its upper flue opening.
The stove's flue is 4.5 in and a US chimney is 6 in. This adapter joins the two.

How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free curbside delivery to the contiguous 48 states on every Narvi stove. The chimney parts and smaller accessories follow our store-wide free shipping threshold, so they ship free with a stove and on any order that clears it. Stoves travel by LTL freight because of their weight; the smaller parts travel by parcel carrier.
Curbside means the curb. The driver brings the shipment to the end of your driveway and that is where the handover happens. Taking it from there to the sauna is yours to arrange, and a Narvi 30 weighs 331 lbs before a single stone goes in, so plan the last fifty feet before the truck arrives rather than on the day.
Alaska, Hawaii and Canada are quoted case by case. Contact us before ordering and we will price the lane.
Most orders leave the warehouse within one to two weeks. If a model is between containers we tell you the date before we take the order, not after.
Inspect before you sign. Freight damage has to be noted on the delivery receipt at the moment of handover. Photograph the crate before it comes off the truck and write any damage on the paperwork before the driver leaves. A receipt signed clean makes a damage claim very hard to win.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Two years in residential use on the Kaamos 20, NC 16, NC 20, NC 24, Luosto, Luosto VS, Inari, Inari Plus and Narvi 30. One year on the Kuru 14 and the Kuru 20.
Non-private use halves the term, and Narvi voids the warranty entirely if the main purpose of use changes during the period.
Covered: defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, on a new product bought from an authorized dealer. It does not limit your rights under applicable law.
Not covered: sauna stones and firebox fire protection plates, which Narvi treats as consumables; improper installation, alteration or misuse; a product incorrectly dimensioned for the room; transport and storage damage, including storage anywhere not indoors, dry, ventilated and above freezing; damage from insufficient ventilation or constant humidity; non-recommended or badly stacked stones; non-original parts; and removal, re-installation, service calls and shipping costs.
Report a fault within 14 days of discovering it, in writing, with proof of purchase and the type designation.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase, unused and in the original packaging.
Get a return authorization first. Nothing should be sent back before we issue one. Contact us, we raise the authorization with the distributor, and the return then travels against a number that identifies it. A stove returned without one can be refused at the dock.
No fixed restocking fee. The distributor deducts the cost of re-boxing the item, which is normally a modest sum for a stove that comes back clean and complete, and a restocking charge of up to 5% may apply.
You pay the return freight unless the item arrived damaged, the wrong item was shipped, or the fault is ours. In those cases the return costs you nothing and we arrange the collection.
A fired stove cannot come back. Once wood has been burned in it the appliance is used and no distributor will take it. Sauna stones are a consumable and are not returnable once the box is opened.

The short answer
The compact cabinet, one size up
The Narvi Kuru 20 is a wood-burning sauna stove built in Lappi, Finland, rated at 16 kW for a room of 353-706 cu. ft. and holding 88 lbs of stone. It burns wood and nothing else: there is no element, no control and no circuit to run.
The room
353-706
Cubic feet of hot room Narvi rates this stove for. Measure the inside of the room, and count any uninsulated glass or stone face for more than its area.
The stone
88 lbs
Stones are not supplied with any Narvi stove. Narvi specifies 10 to 15 cm olivine diabase or vulcanite, which is 2 boxes of Harvia AC3020 split-face olivine diabase at 44 lbs a box.
The flue
119 mm
The connective flue, which is 4.7 in. US stove pipe is 6 in or 8 in, so the chimney is a decision you make before the stove arrives, not after.
Room size
Will the Narvi Kuru 20 heat your sauna room?
Narvi rates the Kuru 20 for 353-706 cu. ft..
Measure the inside of the hot room rather than the footprint of the building. Narvi's own guidance is that an uninsulated surface, a glass wall or a stone face, counts for roughly one and a half to two times its area, so a room with a full glass front behaves like a larger room than its dimensions suggest.
Going too large is the more common mistake and the harder one to live with. A wood fire has no thermostat. An oversized stove in a small room runs hot and the stones never get the long soak that makes the steam soft, which is the thing people buy a Finnish stove for in the first place.
The fire
What the Kuru 20 burns, and what Narvi measured it doing

Narvi publishes no maximum log length for this model. Its manuals recommend firewood around 5 cm thick and 33 cm long, roughly 13 in, which is a fuel recommendation rather than a firebox dimension, so we do not print it as one.
Narvi declares the test firing as 4 + 3 + 3 kg, a total of 10 kg across the burn, at 67% total efficiency with carbon monoxide at 0.81% and a flue gas temperature of 430 °C. Those are the figures from its Declaration of Performance, test report VTT-S-01335-13, and they are the closest thing to a fuel-consumption number any sauna stove maker publishes.
US cordwood is cut to 16 in as standard, so order your firewood to the stove rather than the other way round. Dry wood matters more than species: Narvi's declared figures assume seasoned logs, and wet wood will miss them in both directions, less heat into the room and more soot into the flue.
Flue and chimney
119 mm, and why that decides your chimney

The connective flue is 119 mm, which is 4.7 in, and it connects top or rear.
That size is the single thing most likely to catch a US buyer out. Stove pipe here is 6 in or 8 in; 119 mm is neither, so you cannot finish this installation with parts from a hardware store. Narvi builds its own chimney system and we stock it, along with an adaptor that takes the 119 mm collar out to a 6 in chimney.
Whatever the chimney is made of, Narvi requires temperature class T600 with a minimum modular diameter of 120 mm and a draught of at least 12 Pa. An uninsulated flue must stay 1,000 mm from anything combustible, which is 39 in. Where the stove itself stands against masonry or another non-combustible wall, a 50 mm air gap is enough.
Stones
The Kuru 20 takes 88 lbs of stone, sold separately

This stove holds 88 lbs of stone, and Narvi supplies none of it.
Narvi specifies 10 to 15 cm olivine diabase or vulcanite. That is a larger, coarser stone than an electric heater takes, and the difference is not cosmetic: a wood firebox runs hotter and a small stone cracks in it. For this stove the order is 2 boxes of Harvia AC3020 split-face olivine diabase at 44 lbs a box.
Stack them loosely so air moves through the pile rather than packing them tight, and leave the largest at the bottom. Narvi treats stones as a consumable, so they sit outside the warranty and are re-stacked every season or two as they settle and break down.
Before you order
Clearances, floor and air for the Kuru 20
Narvi's clearances to combustible material for the Kuru 20, taken from its installation manual rather than from the older Declaration of Performance where the two differ.
| Back | 250 mm (9.8 in) |
|---|---|
| Sides | 250 mm (9.8 in) |
| Front | 500 mm (19.7 in) |
| Ceiling above the stove | 1350 mm (53.1 in) |
Narvi sells protective shields that reduce these distances, and we stock the ones that fit this stove. Read the figures as a starting point for a conversation with your building department, not as the final word: a stove without a North American listing is treated as unlisted, and that carries its own clearance rule regardless of what the manufacturer measured in Finland.
Three more things to settle before the stove arrives. A combustible floor needs Narvi's installation base plus sheet metal extending at least 100 mm each side of the door and 400 mm in front. The room needs combustion air at 6 to 10 cubic metres per kilo of wood burned, through an opening of at least 100 mm. And the stove needs an air gap of at least 25 mm underneath it.

Not required
No wiring
No control panel, no sensor, no electrical supply and no electrician. A wood stove is the one sauna heater that needs none of it.
Delivery day
How the Kuru 20 ships
Free curbside freight delivery to the contiguous 48 states.
The Kuru 20 weighs 121 lbs before a single stone goes in. The carrier brings it to the end of your driveway and the handover happens there; moving it from the curb to the sauna is yours to arrange, and it is worth arranging before the truck arrives rather than on the day.
Inspect the pallet while the driver is still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. A receipt signed clean makes a freight claim very hard to win, and it is the one step in this process we cannot do for you.

Warranty and listing
Narvi Kuru 20 warranty, and what CE does not cover
1 year in residential use. Narvi halves the term for any non-private installation, and voids it entirely if the main purpose of use changes during the period.
Sauna stones and the firebox fire protection plates are consumables and sit outside the cover, as does damage from poor ventilation, from storage anywhere that is not indoors, dry and above freezing, and from stones Narvi does not recommend. Report a fault in writing within 14 days of finding it. Our full terms are on the Narvi warranty policy page.
The listing note. This stove carries the CE mark and is tested to the European standard EN 15821:2010 by VTT in Finland, notified body 0809. It does not carry a UL, ULC, CSA or ETL listing, and CE is not a North American listing. For a solid-fuel appliance that can affect your permit and what a home insurer will accept. Your chimney must be a UL 103 Type HT system and the installation follows NFPA 211; an appliance without a North American listing is treated as unlisted, which means 36 in clearances to combustibles unless a listed shield is used. Talk it through with your building department and your chimney professional before you order.
Buyer questions
Narvi Kuru 20 questions, answered from the manual
Does the Kuru 20 carry a UL listing?
No. It carries the CE mark and is tested to EN 15821:2010 by VTT in Finland, notified body 0809. There is no UL, ULC, CSA or ETL listing, and CE is not a North American listing. Check with your building department before you order, because an unlisted appliance is treated differently on clearances.
Are stones included?
No. No Narvi stove ships with stones. This one holds 88 lbs of 10 to 15 cm olivine diabase or vulcanite, which is 2 boxes of Harvia AC3020 split-face olivine diabase at 44 lbs a box.
Can I connect it to a standard 6 in US stove pipe?
Not directly. The connective flue is 119 mm, which is 4.7 in. Narvi makes its own chimney system and we stock it, along with an adaptor out to a 6 in chimney. Whichever you use, the chimney must be temperature class T600.
What is the warranty?
1 year for residential use. Narvi halves the term for non-private use, and sauna stones are a consumable the warranty excludes.
Can I put it in a commercial or public sauna?
Ask us first. Narvi files only the Narvi 30 under stoves for professional use, the CE declaration is written for residential buildings, and the warranty halves for non-private use and is void if the purpose of use changes. We will not promise cover the manufacturer does not give.
