How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Freight, quoted for your address. These are crated units of roughly 1,300 to 4,800 pounds going to residential addresses, so there is no flat rate. Send us your postcode before you order and we will come back with a real figure.
The outdoor cabins arrive fully assembled. All eight travel as one piece, so there is no build on your weekend, but a forklift or crane has to reach the pad. Measure the gate, the side return and anything overhead first.
The indoor cabins arrive in panels. The Lumaria, Aalto and Astra are built in place by two to four people. What matters is the route in, not the room itself.
Delivery is curbside and someone has to be there. The carrier calls to book a window and brings it to the kerb or driveway. Moving it onto the pad is yours to arrange.
Inspect before you sign. Note any damage on the delivery paperwork while the driver is there, photograph everything, and tell us within 48 hours. Refuse a structurally damaged crate and call us.
Lead times. Twelve weeks on every outdoor cabin, four to eight on the three indoor models, built to order from the day you order.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Two warranties, not one. ThermaSol covers the sauna room and Harvia covers the heater inside it. They differ in length and they are claimed in different places.
The sauna room: 1 year. From substantial project completion, covering defective workmanship and materials such as mis-cuts, rough lumber or knot loss.
The heater, control and power box: 5 years residential. One year in a commercial setting. Stones and heating elements carry one year either way.
Two conditions decide most claims. The room must be registered within 15 days of purchase, and installed by a certified electrician or qualified service representative.
Commercial use voids it. ThermaSol excludes residential units used in any non-residential setting, naming hotels, spas, gyms, health clubs and short-term rentals. Tell us before you order and we will quote a range that is warranted for it.
Who you call. Cabin claims go through ThermaSol and we start them for you. Harvia heaters are serviced by Harvia US directly, which is a separate route.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from delivery. Cancelling before it ships costs nothing at all, and on a twelve week cabin there is usually room to change your mind.
Condition required. As new, unused, unassembled and in its original packaging with every component. Once a unit has been sited, connected or assembled it is no longer returnable.
Get an authorisation first. Contact us with your order number, we raise it with ThermaSol, and you ship within 14 days with the authorisation number written on the crate.
What a return costs. A restocking fee of up to 5% may apply and you pay the return freight, which is substantial on a crated sauna. We do not deduct the original outbound shipping. Ask us for an estimate before you commit.
Damaged on arrival is a freight claim, not a return. Note it on the paperwork while the driver is present, photograph it before anything moves, and tell us within 48 hours. Handled that way it costs you nothing.
Refunds. To the original payment method once the unit is received and inspected, normally within 5 to 10 business days.

The short answer
The small enclosed room that makes an outdoor sauna usable in February
The Nordic Misty Changing Room is a 2.6 square metre module that joins a Nordic Misty sauna on the same foundation and under the same roofline. It is where clothes, towels and shoes live while you are in the heat, and it is the difference between walking out into the weather and walking out into a room.
One footprint
60 x 91 x 100 in
The same depth and height as every other module in the row, so the roof and the cladding line up.
The room
2.6 sq m
28 square feet. Kirami classes it as a Size S module, the same class as a Small Terrace.
It locks
Keyhole lock
The Changing Room and Lounge doors take a key. The latch-type lock is for the sauna door only.
What it is for
Kirami builds the Nordic Misty as a row, and this is the module that handles everything that is not heat

The Nordic Misty range is modular. Modules stand side by side on one base and are bolted into a single building: a sauna, then whichever of a Changing Room, a Lounge or a Terrace you order. They share a depth, a height, a black heat-treated shell and a roof line, and the roof sheets run across each joint so the finished row reads as one building.
The Changing Room is the enclosed, lockable one. It has a window rather than a glass wall, a bench and hooks, and a door that takes a key. Practically, it does three jobs: it keeps clothes dry and out of the sauna's humidity, it gives you somewhere to lock a phone and a wallet while you are in the heat, and it puts a buffer between the sauna door and the outside air, which is the whole reason anybody builds one in a cold climate.
It is not a sauna. There is no heater, no bench tier and no electrical requirement published for it. Every connection detail in the module manual is mechanical.
One entrance or two
Where the module sits in the row decides which version you need
There are two decisions and both are built into the panels before the module ships.
Entrances. A one-entrance Changing Room has a single opening and a closed wall opposite. That is the end-of-row configuration: sauna, then changing room, then nothing. A two-entrance Changing Room is open on both faces, which is what you need when it sits between two other modules — a sauna on one side and a lounge or terrace on the other. Decide the whole row before you decide this, because an end module with two entrances has an opening into fresh air and a middle module with one entrance blocks the row.
Door hand. Left or right. Stand where the sauna will be, face the Changing Room and pick the swing that keeps the door clear of the sauna door and of the path in. The hinge side is factory-set and is not changed afterwards.
One note on the handle: Kirami's manual says to tighten the handle screws again after installation, because the door shrinks. That is a normal maintenance step, not a fault.
How it is built
Heat-treated softwood outside, hardwood inside, and it will grey

The shell is a heat-treated softwood panel in a deep black finish. The heat treatment is what gives the wood its rot resistance and holds down the swelling and shrinking that untreated softwood does in wet weather; the paint on top protects against dirt and UV. The modules are treated with a water-based industrial wood oil in manufacture, and Kirami's advice for keeping the colour is to buy a matching product locally.
Inside, the surfaces are hardwood and can be treated with paraffin oil, re-done roughly once a year depending on use.
Kirami is candid about what wood does, and so are we: wooden materials normally take a grey tint within about a year depending on sun exposure, resin can weep from knots, and splinters can lift. None of that is a manufacturing defect and none of it is covered. The black finish slows the greying; it does not prevent it.
We do not publish an insulation figure for this module, because neither ThermaSol nor Kirami does. Kirami publishes 30 mm aluminium-backed urethane for the sauna module's walls and ceiling, and we are not going to assume it carries across.
The base you build first
Never on the ground, and sized for the whole row
Kirami's instruction is unambiguous: never place the modules directly on the ground. The recommended build is concrete slabs on a hard surface to lift the modules clear, bitumen roofing felt across the full width of each slab, then a durable grid over the slabs so everything comes level. Modules can sit directly on slabs, but then levelling is entirely yours, and a row that is out of level will not join cleanly.
Screw piles are the alternative. Kirami names no model because the right one depends on soil type and frost depth, and the manual says to ask a professional which suits your ground. If you are insulating, the guidance is at least 5 to 10 cm of ground frost insulation under the gravel. Keep tall grass off the lower boards: the manual names it as a contributor to rot because it stops the wood breathing.
Size the base for the finished row. The Changing Room is a Size S module; the sauna, the Lounge and a Medium Terrace are Size M. These are the combinations Kirami publishes, converted from the manual's millimetres.
| M + S | 143.5 x 85.8 in (3,644 x 2,180 mm) |
|---|---|
| M + S + S | 202.2 x 85.8 in (5,136 x 2,180 mm) |
| M + M + S | 230.8 x 85.8 in (5,862 x 2,180 mm) |
| M + S + S + M | 289.5 x 85.8 in (7,354 x 2,180 mm) |
| M + M + S + M | 318.1 x 85.8 in (8,080 x 2,180 mm) |
| M + S + S + M + M | 379.4 x 85.8 in (9,638 x 2,180 mm) |
Plan drainage before the base goes in: the sauna module arrives with its own drain fitted and the water has to go somewhere. And leave maintenance access, because the warranty excludes indirect costs such as demolishing and rebuilding a terrace to reach a module.
Joining it to the sauna
Three connection methods, and a shorter job if you order everything at once
Kirami documents four ways modules are fixed together, and a Changing Room uses three of them.
- Transport brackets. Modules are lifted side by side with their back walls flush, a filler piece goes between the transport brackets front and back with two screws a side, and skirting boards cover the filler on both modules.
- Roof sheets. A U-profile sheet between the modules, five screws a side. The next eave flashing laps about 10 cm over the previous one with a silicone seam between them.
- Cover boards. Wherever two modules with door openings meet: a threshold plate, a short cover board across the head, long boards down the sides set flush with the inner wall, then cover strips over the gap — 35 mm on the window side, 43 mm on the back wall side.
The timing matters. If the sauna and the Changing Room are ordered together, the joining preparation is pre-completed at the factory. If the Changing Room comes later, five things have to be undone on site first: the sauna door latch receiver, the cover boards on the edges being joined, the drip edge under the door, the skirting boards and the side flashings. The side flashings in particular can be held fast by a silicone seam. Budget installation time accordingly, and have whoever is fitting it read those pages before the truck is booked.
Leave the transport protection in place until the module is down and being connected — the film, plywood, boards and metal sheets are there to stop exactly the scratches that happen during offloading. A supplied stain covers the screw holes afterwards.

Buyer questions
What people ask before ordering a Changing Room
Do I need one, or will a Terrace do?
A Terrace is a roofed open deck. A Changing Room is enclosed and lockable. If your sauna is somewhere cold, or you want to leave a phone and a wallet somewhere while you are in the heat, you want the enclosed one. If you mostly want shelter over the door and somewhere to stand out of the rain, the Terrace is cheaper and takes less foundation.
Should I order one entrance or two?
Two if the module will sit between two others, one if it is at the end of the row. Draw the row first. Send us the sketch and we will check the configuration before the order goes in — this is the single thing buyers get wrong, and it is not changeable after the panels are built.
Does it come with hooks and a bench?
The interior is finished in hardwood with a bench and a hook rail, as shown. ThermaSol publishes no itemised contents list for the module beyond the installation part lists, so if a specific fitting matters to you, call and we will ask before you order rather than guess.
Is it heated?
No. There is no heater and no heating circuit, and no electrical requirement is published for the module.
What is the lead time?
About 12 weeks. These are made to order in Finland and shipped to the US, which is why we take them as preorders rather than showing stock we do not have.
How is it delivered, and how heavy is it?
1,709 lb on the truck. ThermaSol notifies customers two weeks before the scheduled pickup so there is time to arrange equipment. A forklift is recommended — forks at least two metres long, in under the front, never from the side, aligned with the marks on the wall that carries the lifting sign — or three to four people offloading piece by piece, typically in 30 to 60 minutes. Note that once delivery is made and offloading has begun, the carrier is no longer responsible, so inspect before anything comes off the truck.
What is the warranty?
One year from ThermaSol, from substantial project completion. Kirami's own warranty in Europe is 24 months on materials and manufacturing defects, and six months for commercial use, but your contract as a US buyer is with ThermaSol and their term is the one that applies. Colour change, moisture movement, cracking, normal wear, frost damage and condensation on the glazing are excluded under Kirami's terms, and a self-attempted repair voids the warranty.
Can I add one to a sauna I already have?
Yes. The module manual has a dedicated procedure for it, and it is more work than joining modules that shipped together: the latch receiver, the cover boards on the joining edges, the door drip edge, the skirting boards and the side flashings all come off on site first.
