How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Free to the contiguous 48. What changes across the range is not the cost to you but how it arrives.
Electric heaters ship by parcel. Wall mounted and pillar heaters run roughly 29 to 55 pounds, so they travel as insured ground parcel. No delivery appointment and nobody needs to be home.
Wood burning stoves ship by freight. A stove moves palletized on an LTL carrier. The carrier calls to arrange an appointment window, someone must be there to sign, and it is a curbside drop rather than a carrier leaving it at the door.
Stones ship separately. A heater takes anywhere from one box to thirteen at roughly 44 pounds a box, so stone shipping is charged per box at checkout, including when the stones are ordered with a heater.
When it ships, and how you will know. Most orders ship promptly, though some part numbers are supplied from Finland and take longer, so we confirm the position for your specific model when you order. You get a tracking notification by email once it ships.
Where we ship. The contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada are quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.
If it arrives damaged. Check the carton or pallet for damage while the driver is still there and note any damage on the delivery receipt at the time of signing, then contact us the same day. A clean signature with no damage noted makes a freight claim much harder to win.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Residential coverage. Two years on electric heaters, controls and steam generators including the heating elements, and two years on wood burning stoves, running from your date of purchase.
A free third year. Register within 30 days and Harvia adds a third year on electric heaters in residential use. We send you the link and your serial number with your order.
Commercial coverage. Two years on electric heaters, controls and electronics, but six months on heating elements and six months on wood burning stoves.
Professional installation is a condition. Harvia requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician, and that proof of professional installation can be presented with a claim. A heater wired by the owner is outside the warranty, so keep your installer's invoice with your receipt.
Not covered. Normal wear, improper installation, poor maintenance, failure to follow the instructions, alterations and improper use. Sauna stones are a consumable and are not covered, and stones Harvia does not specify for your model can void cover.
Transport damage has a seven day limit. Harvia requires damage found on receipt to be reported no later than seven days after delivery. Call us the same day, because a claim is far easier to win with the damage noted on the delivery receipt.
Changing how you use it ends the cover. Moving a heater from a family sauna into a gym, a rental or any other commercial setting ends the residential cover rather than converting it. Tell us before you order if the room will be used commercially.
A callout for a fault that is not covered can be charged. If the defect turns out to fall outside the warranty, Harvia is entitled to charge for the work of finding it, including labour, travel and shipping at actual cost. Call us first and we will work through the symptoms with you before anything is booked.
Who handles it. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor for North America and we open the claim with them on your behalf. Call (888) 500-5675.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original packaging and all included parts. A heater that has been wired in, fired, or loaded with stones counts as installed and cannot be returned.
What a return costs. There is no percentage restocking fee on a standard customer return. You get full credit for the product, less a repackaging fee that typically runs about 20 to 50 dollars depending on the item.
Who pays the return freight. You do on a change of mind. We do, and the distributor does, when the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, and nothing is deducted for freight in those cases.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the carton and the contents, and call us the same day. Concealed damage found after signing is much harder to claim, so open the box on delivery day even if you are not installing for weeks.
Sauna stones. Stone is sold by weight and is not returnable once a box is opened.
Controls and accessories. Same 30 day window and the same condition requirement. A control unit that has been wired in cannot be returned.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back, and product returned without one can be refused.

Harvia KIP Series
Harvia KIP80W 8kW Electric Sauna Heater
The KIP is the wall-mounted workhorse of the Harvia range. It bolts to the wall so the floor stays clear, which is usually what decides it in a small room, and at 37.0 lbs boxed it ships as a parcel rather than freight.
At 8kW Harvia rates it for rooms from 250 to 425 cubic feet, or 40 to 65 square feet of floor at a minimum ceiling height of 75 inches. This model runs from a Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit, mounted outside the hot room and bought separately. It buys you a start timer and a proper display, so the room can be hot when you arrive. The B version of the same heater carries its controls on the body instead.

Harvia KIP80W Features
What you are buying at 8kW
Wall-mounted, floor stays clear
Bolted to the wall at 16.1 by 11 by 23.6 inches, so a small room keeps its bench space and its walking room. A pillar heater of the same output takes floor area a compact sauna usually cannot spare.
Runs from a Xenio CX170
This model runs from a Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit, mounted outside the hot room and bought separately. It buys you a start timer and a proper display, so the room can be hot when you arrive. The B version of the same heater carries its controls on the body instead.
Stainless Steel body, UL certificate
Rated IPX4 against splashing, with the room temperature set from the Xenio control. Harvia lists UL certification for this heater, and its US manual states that it complies with UL 875, the standard for electric dry-bath heaters. UL is the mark of UL Solutions, an OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. Installation follows the National Electrical Code and your local code.
Sizing the KIP80W
Is 8kW the right output for your room?
Measure length × width × height in feet. Harvia also publishes a floor area for this model, 40 to 65 square feet, at a minimum room height of 75 inches (1900 mm). Unlike some heaters in the range, the KIP's published minimums differ properly by output, so both ends of the range are meaningful here.
Cold surfaces change the answer, and a glass door counts. Harvia's manuals treat brick, glass, tile and concrete as non-insulated surface and say to add 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of it, which works out near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Harvia's own worked examples: a 10 cubic meter room with a glass door behaves like a 12 cubic meter room, and the same room with a 2 by 2 meter brick wall behaves like 15. If you are close to the limit, size up rather than down.
Log walls without insulation heat slowly. Harvia advises multiplying the room volume by 1.5 before choosing output in that case.
Electrical requirements
33.3 amps at 240 volt single phase
Worth settling before you price the electrical work. Harvia's US manual gives the KIP80W a rated amperage of 33.3 A at 240 volt single phase, with a minimum #8/2 supply wire, which Harvia's cable table for the W version lists as #8/2 + #14/2. This is a single-circuit heater; nothing in the KIP range needs a second feed.
Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than a breaker size. Fixed electric heating counts as a continuous load, so your electrician sizes the conductor and the overcurrent device with headroom above that figure, to the National Electrical Code and to whatever edition your local authority has adopted.
The heater is hardwired. Harvia's KIP manual calls for copper wire rated to 90°C (194°F) for all wiring on the sauna walls and ceiling, brings the power cable in through one of the two rubber-gasketed holes on the lower rear of the heater, and states that receptacles or plugs are not permitted in the sauna room. It also says the heater must be connected to a standard 2-pole breaker and that a GFCI must not be used. Some local codes require GFCI protection anyway. Raise that with your electrician before the rough-in rather than at inspection.
Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Harvia's warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice.

What's in the box
Included with your KIP80W
- Harvia KIP80W sauna heater
- Installation and operation manual
- Heater only. A Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit is required and sold separately.
- Harvia manufacturer warranty, 2 years residential and 3 years when registered within 30 days, subject to professional installation
Sauna stones are required and are not included. Harvia rates the KIP80W to hold 44 lbs of stone. Order 1 box of Harvia AC3000 at 44 lbs, which is the exact quantity, so add a spare box if you want extra to choose from as stone varies in shape and breaks down over time. Harvia's KIP manual calls for stone 2 to 4 inches across in peridotite, olivine diabase, olivine or vulcanite, and AC3000 is olivine diabase in that size. Its terms exclude damage caused by stone it does not recommend. Call (888) 500-5675 and we will add stones to your order. Want it in one order? The Harvia KIP80W package pairs it with the Xenio CX170 matched to your supply and a box of AC3000 stone.
Shipping & delivery
How your heater ships
Ships by parcel carrier
At 37.0 lbs boxed the KIP80W ships as a standard parcel rather than freight, so there is no appointment to schedule and no liftgate to arrange. Stones ship separately and are heavy.
Contiguous US
Delivered throughout the lower 48. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada are quoted separately, so contact us before ordering.
Inspect on arrival
Check the carton before you sign. Note any damage on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery, then contact us the same day so we can open a claim.
Compare the KIP range
The KIP80W against the rest of the KIP series
B models carry their controls on the body. W models need a Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit, which is an extra purchase and an extra wall position to plan for. The 6 and 8 kW models come in stainless steel or graphite black; the 4.5 kW is stainless only, which changes nothing electrical.

Harvia KIP80W FAQ
Questions buyers ask about the KIP80W
What size sauna room does the Harvia KIP80W heat?
Harvia rates the KIP80W for rooms from 250 to 425 cubic feet, or 40 to 65 square feet of floor at a minimum ceiling height of 75 inches. Multiply your room length, width and height in feet to get the volume. Non-insulated surface counts, and so does a glass door: Harvia adds 1.2 cubic meters of volume for every square meter of brick, glass, tile or concrete, which is near 3.9 cubic feet for every square foot. Add that before you compare against the range.
Does the KIP80W need a separate control unit?
Yes. The KIP80W runs from a Harvia Xenio CX170 control unit mounted outside the hot room, bought separately. Each control unit has a published maximum load, so it has to be matched to the heater rather than chosen on features. If you would rather not wire a second box, the B version of this heater carries its controls on the body instead.
How many circuits does the KIP80W require?
One. Harvia's US manual gives the KIP80W a rated amperage of 33.3 A at 240 volt single phase, with a minimum #8/2 supply wire, which Harvia's cable table for the W version lists as #8/2 + #14/2. Nothing in the KIP range needs a second feed. Harvia publishes rated amperage rather than breaker size, so your electrician sizes the overcurrent device above that figure, because fixed electric heating counts as a continuous load.
What warranty comes with this heater?
Harvia covers this heater for 2 years in residential family use, including the heating elements, under the Limited Warranty for Harvia Products dated 18 November 2025. Register the heater with Harvia within 30 days of purchase and Harvia adds a third year, for 3 years in total. Registration is free and takes a couple of minutes. We send you the link and your serial number with your order, so you do not have to go looking for it. In commercial or other non-consumer use the period is 2 years on the heater, controls and electronics, and 6 months on the heating elements. Cover runs from your date of purchase, so keep your receipt. Harvia also requires that the unit is installed and wired by a licensed electrician and that you can show proof of professional installation, so keep your installer's paperwork with it. Transport or storage damage is separate and must be reported no later than seven days after delivery. Harvia US Inc. is the warrantor and handles claims directly, and we open the claim on your behalf. Full terms are on our Harvia warranty policy page.
Are sauna stones included with the KIP80W?
No. Stones are required for operation and are sold separately. Harvia rates the KIP80W to hold 44 lbs of stone, which is 1 box of Harvia AC3000 at 44 lbs. Stone is natural and varies in shape, so ordering a spare box gives you enough to choose from. Harvia's KIP manual calls for stone 2 to 4 inches across in peridotite, olivine diabase, olivine or vulcanite, and AC3000 is olivine diabase in that size, because unsuitable stones can void the warranty.
Does the KIP80W need a GFCI breaker?
Harvia's KIP manual is explicit: the heater must be connected to a standard 2-pole breaker, and a GFCI must not be used. Local code may require GFCI protection anyway, particularly outdoors or in a wet location, and where the two conflict your inspector decides. Settle it with your electrician before the rough-in.
Can I install the Harvia KIP80W myself?
No. The KIP80W is hardwired and must be installed by a licensed electrician to the National Electrical Code and local requirements. Harvia's published warranty terms require that proof of professional installation is presented, so keep the invoice. Harvia's KIP manual specifies copper wire rated to 90°C (194°F) for all wiring on the sauna walls and ceiling, and states that receptacles or plugs are not permitted in the sauna room.
Is the KIP80W listed for use in the United States?
Harvia lists UL certification for this heater, and its US manual states that it complies with UL 875, the standard for electric dry-bath heaters. UL is the mark of UL Solutions, an OSHA-accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. Installation follows the National Electrical Code and your local code.
What is the difference between the stainless steel and graphite black finish?
Nothing electrical or dimensional. The two finishes are the same heater with the same output, room range, amperage and stone capacity. It is purely a question of which looks right in your room.
