- Shingle roof kit over a bronze glass front
- 53.2″ × 51.2″ footprint, 990 lbs crated
- Sauna heater and control sold separately
The control mounts outside the hot room and is wired by a licensed electrician, which Harvia requires for the heater warranty. These are the 240V single-phase parts; call (888) 500-5675 for 208V three-phase.
Harvia sells the heater and the stones separately and states the weight each model holds. Old or crumbling stones restrict airflow and shorten element life, so they are replaced rather than reused.
SaunaLife builds eight Essentials sets. These are the three that differ in what you get; the rest are color and material variations of the same three, and they are all on the Essentials Set page.

How does delivery work?
How does delivery work?
Freight, not parcel. Shipping is quoted per model and charged at checkout, and you see the exact figure before you pay.
When it ships. Stock across a range this size moves week to week, so we confirm the position for your model when you order rather than publishing an average that would be wrong for half the catalog.
How you will know. You get a tracking notification by email once your order ships. On a freight shipment the updates come from the carrier's own portal rather than standard UPS or FedEx tracking, so we include the carrier name, the PRO tracking number and a link to their tracking tool.
How it arrives. Palletized on an LTL carrier, or on a flat bed for the largest cabins. The carrier calls to arrange a window, someone must be there to sign, and delivery is to the curb. Pallets run up to 81 inches wide, so check the route from where a truck can stop to where the sauna will sit before you order.
Where it ships. Rates cover the contiguous 48 states. Canada is higher and set by SaunaLife, and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are always quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.
If it arrives damaged. Inspect every crate with the driver still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. SaunaLife excludes damage that would have been visible on inspection, so a clean signature can cost you the claim. Call us from the driveway.
What does the warranty cover?
What does the warranty cover?
Two years, residential. Defects in workmanship under normal use, from the date you take delivery, to the original retail purchaser. Keep your receipt.
Repair or replace. SaunaLife chooses which, and may substitute a component of equivalent value. A replaced part carries the remaining term rather than starting a new one.
Not covered. Installation and delivery, normal wear, user damage, and the way wood behaves: knots, grain and tone differences, shrinkage, moderate deformation and weathering. Accessories carry one year. Cleaners, wax, paint and oils carry 60 days.
Residential only. Commercial use voids it, so call before you order if the sauna goes into a gym, spa, clinic or any other business and we will confirm the terms in writing.
The heater is separate. A SaunaLife sauna does not include a heater, so the heater, its control unit and its stones fall under that manufacturer's warranty.
Transport damage must be caught on delivery. Damage that would have been detectable by visual inspection before installation is excluded. Inspect the crates with the driver, write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, and photograph everything before you move it. Once panels are assembled, a claim for damage that was visible beforehand is very hard to win.
Who handles it. We handle the claim with SaunaLife for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, photographs and a description of the fault.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
30 days from purchase. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original crating and all included parts. Once panels have been screwed together, a tub has been filled or a stove has been fired, it counts as installed and cannot be returned.
What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund on a standard customer return.
Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind, and on a crated sauna that is a real number rather than a formality, so ask us for a figure before you commit. The freight you paid at checkout is not refunded either.
When it is our fault. If the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, we and the distributor cover the return and nothing is deducted.
Damaged on arrival. A different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crates before you move anything, and call us the same day. Transit damage is resolved by replacement parts rather than by return.
Cancelling before it ships. No fee at all before we submit your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.
To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back.

The short answer
The SaunaLife CL3G is a 2-person outdoor sauna kit on 18.9 square feet
18.9 square feet of ground. That is what sells this cabin. At 53.2 inches wide and 51.2 deep, the CL3G is a small outdoor sauna with the smallest footprint in the Cube Series, and the only Cube SaunaLife lists for a 4.5 kW heater. The CL4G is two inches shallower, but half again as wide.
The ground
53.2 × 51.2 in
That is the cabin itself. SaunaLife's manual calls for a level foundation with proper drainage. Allow working room around it to assemble the shell and to reach the back afterwards.
The people
Up to 2
SaunaLife lists the CL3G for up to 2 persons. One bench, 49.21 inches long and 20.47 inches deep, and a small side surface.
The project
Four more line items
The heater and its stones, a heater guardrail, the base and the electrician are separate from the cabin, and freight is charged at checkout. Call us and we will walk you through each one before you order.
Walkthrough
A quick walkthrough of the SaunaLife CL3G
SaunaLife's own walkthrough of the CL3G.
Watch it alongside the seating measurements below: the drawing gives the numbers, and the video gives the proportions of the room.

The bench layout
One bench, a side surface and a footrest step
SaunaLife lists the CL3G for up to 2 persons, seated. Every measurement below is taken from SaunaLife's dimension drawing and parts list.
| Bench | 49.21 × 20.47 in, 34.85 in off the floor |
|---|---|
| Side surface | 22.83 × 11.81 in, in the corner beside the bench |
| Footrest step | 48.03 × 7.48 in, 17.8 in off the floor |
| Above the bench | About 40.6 in to the ceiling |
| Timber | Thermo-Aspen bench and ergonomic backrest |

Built for two people sitting
The interior is 43.2 inches deep, and the one bench is 20.47 inches deep. The interior is 75.4 inches high, 0.6 inches more than the CL4G and CL5G. The CL5G adds a lower bench and a side bench.
Drying the cabin after each use
SaunaLife's CL3G manual says to let surfaces dry completely with proper ventilation after cleaning, and to run the heater for at least 30 minutes with the vent open and the door closed. It also asks you to wipe the benches with a clean, damp cloth rather than running water.
Finish
Natural or black, and what the difference really is
SaunaLife builds the CL3G in two finishes. It is the same cabin either way: the same timber, the same benching, the same glass. What changes is how the outside is treated, and when.
| Natural | Supplied uncoated, ready to oil, stain or paint. |
|---|---|
| Black | PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black sauna paint, supplied loose in the crate. |
| Applied by | You or your installer, after the cabin is standing. The shell is not painted at the factory. |
| Coverage | SaunaShield covers 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber. |

Why the paint travels in the crate instead of on the cabin
A finished cabin has to survive the same freight journey as a bare one. Strapping, forklift handling and the staves working against each other in transit all mark a painted surface, and a scuff shows far more on a black wall than on raw timber. Painting once the shell is standing gives an even coat with nothing to touch up, and it lets you reach the joints and end grain that are hidden once the panels are apart.
What applying it involves
SaunaShield is a water-based acrylate made for the outside of a sauna. PROSAUNAS give coverage as 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber, and describe the coating as quick drying with a 12 year durability under proper maintenance. Work to the instructions on the tin for preparation, number of coats and drying time, and keep what is left for touching up later.
The black finish is a choice about appearance and upkeep, not about how the sauna is built or how it performs. Heater sizing, the electrical supply and the warranty are identical on both.
Before you order
Six things to check before the CL3G ships
Every one of these is cheap to settle now and expensive to settle once a 990 lb pallet is in your driveway.
- Panel space for the circuit your electrician specifies.Harvia's KIP installation manual lists the 4.5 kW KIP45B at 18.8 A and 240 V with 10-gauge wire, and requires the heater to be permanently installed. Your electrician works from that manual and your local code.
- Your building department's position on a hard-wired sauna.Permit rules for detached accessory structures vary by jurisdiction. Call your building department before you order and ask whether a permit is needed for the structure, for the electrical work or for both, and what setbacks apply to your lot.
- The cable run from the panel to the cabin.Distance affects the wire your electrician specifies. Have the run measured before you ask for a quote.
- Gate width against pallet width. The pallet is 78 × 44 × 28 in. Measure the gate and the route to the base against that before delivery day.
- A level base that drains.SaunaLife's CL3G manual calls for a level foundation with proper drainage, and for a water level when you set the foundation cradles.
- Deck placement, if it is going on a deck. The kit ships at 990 lb, before the heater, the stones and the bathers. Have a licensed structural engineer confirm the deck can carry it before you order.
Not sure on any of them? Call (888) 500-5675 and we will go through the list with you before you order.
Construction
Three things about the CL3G you cannot change later

Forty-two millimetre Thermo-Spruce walls. The walls are 42 mm Thermo-Spruce, held by two stainless steel barrel bands, with 28 mm front and back walls.
Thermally modified timber. SaunaLife describes its Thermo-Spruce as organically thermally enhanced, and as stronger and more dimensionally stable, and says it will far outlast conventional wood. The cabin is designed by SaunaLife and handcrafted in Northern Europe.
A shingled roof. The roof is underlay felt and a shingle kit with drip rails, as SaunaLife specifies.
This is a traditional sauna heated by stones rather than infrared panels. If you are still choosing between the two, our infrared versus traditional guide sets out the difference. The Cube Series sits in the full SaunaLife range.
No insulation layer is listed. Neither SaunaLife's package contents nor its CL3G installation manual lists an insulation layer or an R-value. The walls are 42 mm of solid Thermo-Spruce.
The decision that blocks the purchase
Which heaters SaunaLife lists for the CL3G
Every heater SaunaLife lists for the CL3G is a 4.5 kW model, and it is the only Cube where that is true. The heater is sold separately, and it is the only choice on this page that is difficult to reverse.
| Output | On SaunaLife's list | Nameplate draw |
|---|---|---|
| 4.5 kWOn SaunaLife's list | Harvia KIP45B and KIP45W, HUUM DROP 4.5 and the DROP 4.5STU package | 18.8 A at 240 V for the Harvia KIP45 |
| 6 kW | Not on SaunaLife's list for the CL3G | Not applicable |
Nameplate draw is not circuit size. Your electrician sizes the breaker and conductors from the heater manufacturer's installation manual and your local code.
Harvia's KIP installation manual publishes a room-size table for each heater. For the 4.5 kW KIP45 it lists a floor area of 16 to 30 square feet and a room volume of 100 to 210 cubic feet, with a minimum sauna height in the USA of 75 inches, or 1,900 mm. The CL3G's interior is 14.9 square feet of floor and 93.5 cubic feet of volume, both smaller than the smallest room the table lists for the KIP45, and 75.4 inches high.
SaunaLife's own recommended list for this cabin names only 4.5 kW heaters, and our selector follows that list. Because the two sources differ, confirm your heater choice with the heater manufacturer and go through its installation manual with your electrician before you order, and call (888) 500-5675 if you would like to go through SaunaLife's list with us.
Our selector for this cabin carries two heaters from that list. The Harvia KIP45B has its controls built into the heater. The Harvia KIP45W has no controls built in and runs from a separate Harvia Xenio CX170 control, which Harvia's KIP manual wires to its KIP-W heaters; choose the KIP45W and the selector asks for the CX170 before it adds anything to your cart. Both are the 240 V single-phase models. You can also browse Harvia sauna heaters or every electric sauna heater we carry.
SaunaLife does not publish a heat-up time for this cabin, so we do not quote one.
Ask your electrician about ground-fault protection before they quote. Harvia's KIP installation manual says a ground fault interrupter should not be installed in a sauna. Requirements for outdoor equipment depend on the electrical code your jurisdiction has adopted, so settle how the two fit together before the circuit is designed.
Running cost
Estimating what the CL3G costs to run
Buyers ask this in dollars, so here are worked examples with every input shown.
Example: one hour at full output
$0.83
4.5 kWh at 18.34 cents
Example: three hours a week
$11
Per month, at full output
Example: a year at three hours a week
$129
52 weeks, at full output
These are worked examples, not a quote or a maximum. They assume a 4.5 kW heater at its rated output for every hour counted, at 18.34 cents per kilowatt-hour, the US residential average in the EIA's Electric Power Monthly for June 2026. Count heat-up time in your hours. Your own cost will differ with your electricity rate and its fees, your supply voltage, the heater and lighting you use, and the weather. Your rate is on your electricity bill.
Scope
What you get, and what you also need
The kit ships as one pallet, 78 × 44 × 28 inches and 990 pounds, by LTL freight. SaunaLife's package contents list the following.
- Thermo-Spruce walls, 42 mmwith 28 mm front and back walls
- Tempered bronze glass front wall, 8 mm
- Thermo-Aspen bench and ergonomic backrest
- Two stainless steel barrel bands and foundation cradles
- Shingle kit, fascia board and front details painted black
- White LED light system with Wi-Fi apptwo LED lights, handheld remote and cradle, 90 W power supply, driver and 30 ft cable

No heater guard is included. SaunaLife's package contents list a heater guard for the CL5G, CL7G and CL12GCP, not the CL3G. Harvia's KIP installation manual lists a heater guardrail in matching softwood as part of the sauna room, so budget for one and check your heater's manual for its requirements.

Assembly
Building the SaunaLife CL3G
Components arrive as numbered parts. SaunaLife's CL3G installation manual lists the tools, including a circular saw and a drill, and calls for extra hands. SaunaLife does not publish a build time.
The manual's tool list names a circular saw, measuring tape, marker pen, water level, drill, crescent wrench, utility knife, rubber mallet, hammer and screwdriver, plus extra hands. Unlike the CL4G, CL5G and CL7G manuals, it does not list a ratchet strap.
At the step that fits the two barrel bands, the manual warns you to tighten all nuts securely and remove all brackets. For upkeep, it asks for a wood preservative at least once a year.
Before the first proper session
SaunaLife's CL3G manual calls for a supervised first heating of two hours to about 210°F, with the sauna well ventilated during and after. Harvia's KIP manual separately asks you to run the heater for an hour before first use so the element's protective coating can burn off. Read both manuals before you fire the heater.

Buyer questions
SaunaLife CL3G questions buyers ask before ordering
Is the SaunaLife CL3G a true 2-person sauna?
SaunaLife lists the CL3G for up to 2 persons. Its drawing shows one bench 49.21 inches long and 20.47 inches deep, a small side surface and a footrest step. The CL5G, by comparison, has an upper bench, a lower bench and a side bench.
What size heater does the SaunaLife CL3G need?
SaunaLife lists only 4.5 kW heaters for the CL3G: the Harvia KIP45B and KIP45W, and the HUUM DROP 4.5 and DROP 4.5STU package. Harvia's KIP manual lists the KIP45 for rooms of 16 to 30 square feet and 100 to 210 cubic feet, and the CL3G's interior is smaller, at 14.9 square feet and 93.5 cubic feet. Confirm your heater choice with the heater manufacturer before you order. Recovery Room Direct offers the KIP45B, which has its controls built in, and the KIP45W, which runs from a separate Harvia Xenio CX170 control.
What are the SaunaLife CL3G dimensions and footprint?
The CL3G is the smallest outdoor sauna in the Cube Series: 53.2 inches wide, 51.2 inches deep and 81.9 inches high outside, on 18.9 square feet of ground. Inside it is 49.6 by 43.2 inches and 75.4 inches high. SaunaLife's manual calls for a level foundation with proper drainage.
Is the SaunaLife CL3G insulated?
SaunaLife does not list an insulation layer or an R-value for the CL3G. The walls are 42 mm solid Thermo-Spruce, with 28 mm front and back walls.
Does the SaunaLife CL3G come with a heater guard or lighting?
No heater guard is included; SaunaLife's package contents list one for the CL5G, CL7G and CL12GCP. Harvia's KIP manual lists a softwood heater guardrail as part of the sauna room, so budget for one. A white LED light system with a Wi-Fi app and a handheld remote is included.
What is the warranty on the SaunaLife CL3G?
SaunaLife's website lists a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The warranty document itself, Rev 260220, covers defects in workmanship for two years in residential use from delivery to the original retail purchaser, and does not cover sauna heaters or commercial use. Our SaunaLife warranty page summarizes the terms, and you can get a free copy of SaunaLife's written warranty by calling (888) 500-5675.
