How does delivery work?

Freight, not parcel. Shipping is quoted per model and charged at checkout, and you see the exact figure before you pay.

When it ships. Stock across a range this size moves week to week, so we confirm the position for your model when you order rather than publishing an average that would be wrong for half the catalog.

How you will know. You get a tracking notification by email once your order ships. On a freight shipment the updates come from the carrier's own portal rather than standard UPS or FedEx tracking, so we include the carrier name, the PRO tracking number and a link to their tracking tool.

How it arrives. Palletized on an LTL carrier, or on a flat bed for the largest cabins. The carrier calls to arrange a window, someone must be there to sign, and delivery is to the curb. Pallets run up to 81 inches wide, so check the route from where a truck can stop to where the sauna will sit before you order.

Where it ships. Rates cover the contiguous 48 states. Canada is higher and set by SaunaLife, and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are always quoted case by case, so contact us before ordering.

If it arrives damaged. Inspect every crate with the driver still there and write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign. SaunaLife excludes damage that would have been visible on inspection, so a clean signature can cost you the claim. Call us from the driveway.

Read the full SaunaLife Shipping & Delivery Policy

What does the warranty cover?

Two years, residential. Defects in workmanship under normal use, from the date you take delivery, to the original retail purchaser. Keep your receipt.

Repair or replace. SaunaLife chooses which, and may substitute a component of equivalent value. A replaced part carries the remaining term rather than starting a new one.

Not covered. Installation and delivery, normal wear, user damage, and the way wood behaves: knots, grain and tone differences, shrinkage, moderate deformation and weathering. Accessories carry one year. Cleaners, wax, paint and oils carry 60 days.

Residential only. Commercial use voids it, so call before you order if the sauna goes into a gym, spa, clinic or any other business and we will confirm the terms in writing.

The heater is separate. A SaunaLife sauna does not include a heater, so the heater, its control unit and its stones fall under that manufacturer's warranty.

Transport damage must be caught on delivery. Damage that would have been detectable by visual inspection before installation is excluded. Inspect the crates with the driver, write any damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, and photograph everything before you move it. Once panels are assembled, a claim for damage that was visible beforehand is very hard to win.

Who handles it. We handle the claim with SaunaLife for you. Call (888) 500-5675 with your order number, photographs and a description of the fault.

Read the full SaunaLife Warranty Policy

What if I need to return it?

30 days from purchase. The unit must be new, uninstalled and in resalable condition with its original crating and all included parts. Once panels have been screwed together, a tub has been filled or a stove has been fired, it counts as installed and cannot be returned.

What a return costs. A 20 percent restocking fee may be deducted from your refund on a standard customer return.

Who pays the freight. You do on a change of mind, and on a crated sauna that is a real number rather than a formality, so ask us for a figure before you commit. The freight you paid at checkout is not refunded either.

When it is our fault. If the cause is shipping damage or an error on our side, we and the distributor cover the return and nothing is deducted.

Damaged on arrival. A different process, and it is time sensitive. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crates before you move anything, and call us the same day. Transit damage is resolved by replacement parts rather than by return.

Cancelling before it ships. No fee at all before we submit your order to the manufacturer. After we submit it but before it ships, an administrative fee of up to 5 percent may apply, and we waive it whenever we are not charged.

To start a return. Call (888) 500-5675. A Return Authorization number is required before anything goes back.

SaunaLife CL7G Cube Series, 6-Person Glass-Front Outdoor Sauna Kit

The CL7G is where the range stops being a one-bench cabin. Two facing benches with the heater between them, 85.5 inches of interior height, and six bathers in 307 cubic feet. It is the first Cube tall enough to sit with your feet near the level of the stones, which is the geometry Finnish practice is built around.

  • Six bathers, two facing benches, 307 cu ft
  • 85.5 in interior height, nearly a foot more than the CL5G
  • Two facing benches, 70.5 in each, with the heater between them
  • 9 kW heater recommended, sized and matched by us before it ships

Freight is quoted per model and shown separately at checkout. Monthly financing available, see financing.

Construction

What every SaunaLife CL7G buyer should know first

Despite the name, the Cube is a rounded square rather than a true cube. The staves wrap continuously from the floor, up the walls and over the top, so the shell, the corners and the roof are one piece. SaunaLife’s own manual calls them barrel staves.

The walls are solid thermally modified spruce, 42 mm thick, running the full 86.6-inch depth and drawn together by three external steel tension hoops. There is no frame and no panel construction. The roof is not a separate structure either: the staves arch over the top and are finished with underlay felt, asphalt shingles, a metal drip edge and ridge cap strips along the crown, so water sheds to both sides.

Thermal modification is heat, not chemistry. It drives moisture and resin out of the timber, which is what lets thermo spruce sit outdoors through freeze and thaw without the movement untreated softwood shows. Losing the resin matters for a second reason: untreated spruce and pine bleed sap when they get hot, and modified timber does not.

This is a traditional sauna heated by stones rather than infrared panels. If you are still deciding between the two, our infrared versus traditional sauna guide sets out the difference. The Cube Series sits in the full SaunaLife range and in our wider backyard and outdoor sauna range.

And one thing it does not have: insulation. Neither the specification nor SaunaLife’s installation manual mentions an insulation layer or an R-value. Some retailers describe the 1.7-inch walls as insulation. Solid timber is not insulation, and that single fact drives the heater decision further down this page.

Finish

Natural or black, and what the difference really is

SaunaLife builds the CL7G in two finishes. It is the same cabin either way: the same timber, the same benching, the same glass. What changes is how the outside is treated, and when.

SaunaLife CL7G Cube Series 6-Person Outdoor Sauna Kit, black finish, three quarter view
Finish What it includes
Natural Supplied uncoated. The front details are painted black at the factory.
Black Black front details, plus two 2.7 litre tins of PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black sauna paint.
Applied by You or your installer, after the cabin is standing. The shell is not painted at the factory.
Coverage SaunaShield covers 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber.

Why the paint travels in the crate instead of on the cabin

A finished cabin has to survive the same freight journey as a bare one. Strapping, forklift handling and the staves working against each other in transit all mark a painted surface, and a scuff shows far more on a black wall than on raw timber. Painting once the shell is standing gives an even coat with nothing to touch up, and it lets you reach the joints and end grain that are hidden once the panels are apart.

What applying it involves

SaunaShield is a water-based acrylate made for the outside of a sauna. PROSAUNAS give coverage as 8 to 10 square metres per litre on planed timber, and describe the coating as quick drying with a 12 year durability under proper maintenance. Work to the instructions on the tin for preparation, number of coats and drying time, and keep what is left for touching up later.

The black finish is a choice about appearance and upkeep, not about how the sauna is built or how it performs. Heater sizing, the electrical supply and the warranty are identical on both.

What you are buying

Three things on the CL7G you cannot retrofit later

Front elevation of the SaunaLife CL7G showing the full tempered glass front and wide door

A full glass front, and a wide door

8 mm tempered bronze across the front, with a 74.4 by 27.2 inch door. Four inches wider and eight taller than the door on the smaller Cubes, which matters when six people are moving through it.

Side elevation of the SaunaLife CL7G showing thermo-spruce staves, three steel tension hoops and the arched shingled crown

Three tension hoops, not two

A shell this size needs a third hoop to draw it closed. Same 42 mm thermally modified staves, same arched crown finished with felt, 77 shingles, a metal drip edge and ridge caps.

SaunaLife CL7G outdoor sauna beside a pool in a garden setting

Seven feet of headroom

85.5 inches inside, against 74.8 on the CL4G and CL5G. It is the difference between a cabin you sit in and a room that behaves like a sauna should.

The bench layout

Two facing benches, and a ceiling high enough to use them

Two benches, one down each side, each 70.52 inches long and 20.48 deep, with a contoured backrest behind each and a 70.52 by 8.27 inch footrest below. The heater sits between them.

This is a different arrangement from the smaller Cubes, which put a single bench against one wall. That is what makes six bathers workable instead of theoretical, and it is the traditional layout: people facing each other across the stones, not lined up along a wall.

The ceiling is the other half of it. At 85.5 inches of interior height the CL7G has nearly a foot more than the CL5G, which means the benches can sit high enough for your feet to be near the level of the stones. That is the geometry Finnish practice asks for and the smaller Cubes cannot give you. The temperature difference between the bench and the floor becomes a real gradient you can move within.

Benches and backrests are Thermo-Aspen, not spruce. Aspen is the traditional bench timber in Finnish saunas because it is low-density and slow to transfer heat. Use a towel or a seat pad, as SaunaLife’s care guide asks.

Cutaway of the SaunaLife CL7G interior showing two facing benches, backrests and the heater between them
Heater sizing

Which heater the SaunaLife CL7G needs

We recommend 9 kW. This is the first Cube that goes past the top of the 8 kW band, and the reason is the same as always: the glass.

SaunaLife publishes no kilowatt figure, but its distributor product data carries a recommended-model list, and the CL7G list is the first in the range to run to 9 kW and beyond: Harvia Cilindro PC90 and PC90E, HUUM DROP 9 and HIVE Mini 11, the Virta HL90E and Virta Combi HL90SA, alongside 8 kW KIP80 and The Wall SW80 units at the bottom of the range.

The arithmetic

Harvia publishes the correction for uninsulated surfaces plainly: one square meter of stone, glass or similar non-insulated surface raises the power requirement as much as adding 1.2 cubic meters to the room volume. Harvia publishes a second factor for non-insulated log walls (multiply the volume by 1.5). Thermally modified staves are not a green log wall, so we do not apply it, and where the two answers differ we defer to SaunaLife’s own recommended-heater list rather than to our arithmetic.

Input Value
Interior volume 8.69 m³ (307 cu ft)
Glazed front, our estimate from the interior elevation, not a published number approx. 3.4 m²
Penalty applied +4.08 m³
Equivalent volume for sizing 12.77 m³

Nearly thirteen cubic meters. Harvia’s 8 kW band tops out at 12, so an 8 kW unit is at its ceiling here. SaunaLife’s own list carries both classes for the CL7G, naming 8 kW units such as the Harvia KIP80B, The Wall SW80 and TopClass KV80 alongside 9 kW units such as the Cilindro PC90 and the HUUM DROP 9. We default to 9 kW, and we would only put an 8 kW heater in a CL7G in a mild climate with a patient owner. Call us before you buy either.

The heater guard does not fit every heater, and SaunaLife says so. The installation manual carries the warning in capitals: the guard may not meet the safety distances of all heaters and should not be used if the heater does not fit. The manual fits the benches first (CL7G steps 12 to 14; CL12GCP 4.16 to 4.18) and the heater and guard afterwards, so a guard that will not fit your heater is discovered with the benching already installed. Confirm the guard clearance for your exact heater model before you order it, and we will check it with you.

Ask your electrician about GFCI before they quote

Recent editions of the National Electrical Code have broadened ground-fault protection for outdoor equipment, while several heater manufacturers warn their heaters can nuisance-trip a GFCI device. Both positions are genuine, and which governs is decided by your jurisdiction’s code edition and your inspector. Settle it before the circuit is designed, not at inspection.

A 9 kW heater is hard-wired at 240 volts on a dedicated circuit with a disconnect within sight, and the amperage is higher than the smaller Cubes need. Expect a licensed electrician, a permit in most jurisdictions, and either a buried cable run or rigid conduit. Price it before you order the cabin: it is the largest and most variable third-party cost in the project. Browse Harvia sauna heaters or every electric sauna heater we carry, then call (888) 500-5675 so the kilowatts, the controls and the guard clearance all match the cabin.

Living with it

Heat-up times and what the CL7G costs to run

The biggest room in the range takes the longest to heat and costs the most to run, though the numbers are still modest against the rest of the project.

Conditions Planning estimate, not a measured figure
Mild weather, above 60°F 60 to 75 minutes to roughly 180°F
Cool autumn, 40 to 50°F About 75 to 90 minutes
Hard winter, well below freezing Ninety minutes or more, and 9 kW earns its keep

We have no measured heat-up data for this cabin. These are planning ranges for a 9 kW heater, scaled from published CL-series owner reports for this cabin’s much larger volume. Use the heater’s timer rather than heating on standby; on a room this size an hour at temperature with nobody in it is the one genuinely wasteful thing you can do.

A session of roughly seventy minutes of heating plus forty-five minutes of bathing time (usually two or three rounds with a cool-down between) lands around 14 to 24 kilowatt-hours. At 18.34 cents per kilowatt-hour, the US residential average in the EIA’s Electric Power Monthly (June 2026 data, its latest published), that is $2.57 to $4.40 per session, or about $33 to $57 a month at three sessions a week.

Assembly

Building the SaunaLife CL7G

Two to three days with two people, and the most demanding build in the range short of the CL12GCP. Everything is bigger: three hoops instead of two, 77 shingles instead of 37, four bench assemblies, and a 74-inch glass door.

Side elevation of the SaunaLife CL7G showing the shingled arched crown and the three external steel tension hoops with their threaded tensioners

Components arrive prefabricated and numbered and the work is screws and a rubber mallet, not joinery, but there is a great deal more of it than on the smaller Cubes. The manual is the weak link across this whole range, so watch one of the owner build films for a smaller Cube first; the sequence is the same, only longer.

The hoops in this photograph are the step that decides whether the shell closes square. They are drawn down with threaded tensioners after the staves are stacked, and the ratchet strap below holds the shell together while you fit them.

The ratchet strap has to be long. The manual specifies a minimum of 27 feet, which is longer than most households own. It draws the shell closed while the three tension hoops are fitted and the manual calls for it by name. Buy or borrow one before the pallet arrives.

Check the tool list before the pallet arrives

A circular saw is on the list because some trim is cut to fit on site. The rest is a drill, a rubber mallet, a crescent wrench, a water level and, in the manual’s own words, extra hands.

Before the pallet arrives, settle the base. It has to be flat, level and load-bearing, and level matters most: the walls are stacked staves under hoop tension, so an out-of-level base puts the stack out of plumb and the glass door stops closing squarely. A concrete pad, pavers on compacted gravel or an engineered deck all work. Two traps worth knowing: do not sit the foundation beams flat on pavers with no gap, because timber in permanent contact with a wet surface rots from underneath where you cannot inspect it; and in a freezing climate ask your pad builder about frost, because a slab that is not below the frost line heaves and drops the cabin out of level over a couple of winters. Allow about ten to twelve inches clear at the sides and back too, since you build it in place.

Ownership

Living with the CL7G outdoors

A full glass front on a room this size stands outdoors all year. Two habits cover almost everything.

The glass will run with condensation, and in a hard freeze it can stick the door shut

Physics, not a defect. Warm wet air meets cold glass and gives up its moisture there, so on a winter session you get a band of condensation on the inside of the lower glass. Water runs down and collects at the bottom of the door, and if it is properly cold it can freeze overnight.

The routine that prevents it takes a minute: squeegee or towel the inside of the glass at the end of the session, bottom edge included, then leave the door ajar for twenty minutes while the cabin dries. That second step also does more for mold prevention than anything else. Fogging during a session is not a problem; throw water on the stones and the glass clears in seconds.

The rest of it is 5 habits

  • Do the break-in firing before you use it. SaunaLife asks for a supervised two-hour first heating to about 210°F with the sauna well ventilated during and after. Do not skip it. Check inside the heater for shipping plastic or cardboard first, which is a well-known way to ruin a new element on day one.
  • Wipe down and leave the door ajar after a session. The single biggest lever on how long the cabin lasts.
  • Oil it once a year. SaunaLife’s manual asks for the wooden parts to be treated after assembly and a preservative reapplied annually. Thermal modification substantially improves decay resistance; the oil adds moisture resistance and holds the color. Never use exterior oil, varnish or paint inside; SaunaLife asks for interior surfaces to be cleaned with a sauna cleaner and re-treated with a sauna protectant.
  • Sit on a towel. The Thermo-Aspen benches mark with sweat, not heat. Warm water and a soft brush along the grain lifts it. No wire brush, no bleach.
  • Keep the shingles intact. Replace any that lift. The roof decides how long everything under it lasts.

Do not tarp it over winter. A cover with no air gap traps damp against the timber and rots it faster than the weather would. The shingled crown and the modified spruce exist precisely so the cabin can stand outside uncovered.

Fit

Who the SaunaLife CL7G is for

The household that entertains

Six people, facing each other across the stones, with room to move between the bench and the step. This is a sauna you invite people into, not one you take turns in.

The traditionalist

85.5 inches of headroom is what lets the benches sit high enough for feet near the level of the stones. If you have used a proper Finnish sauna and want that back, this is the smallest Cube that delivers it.

The one with the ground to spare

54.7 square feet plus working clearance is a serious commitment of garden. If you have it, this is the model where the range stops being a cabin and starts being a room.

Choosing within the range

SaunaLife CL7G against the rest of the Cube Series

The CL7G is where the Cube Series changes character. Everything below it is a cabin with one bench; this is a room with two.

  CL7G CL4G CL5G CL12GCP
Bathers 6 3 4 8
Footprint 54.7 sq ft 27.6 sq ft 35.3 sq ft 95.8 sq ft
Interior volume 307 cu ft 138.1 cu ft 184.1 cu ft 340 cu ft
Interior height 85.5 in 74.8 in 74.8 in 85.5 in

Heater class 8 to 9 kW 6 to 7.5 kW 6 to 8 kW 8 to 9 kW
Shipping weight 2,040 lbs 1,415 lbs 1,680 lbs 3,450 lbs

The height row is the one to read twice. Interior height jumps by nearly a foot at the CL7G, and that is the single biggest experiential difference in the range: it is what lets you sit with your feet near the level of the stones instead of below them.

Compare the CL5G 4-person Cube, the CL4G, the smaller CL3G 2-person Cube, or the CL12GCP with its changing room. Not sure? Take the two-minute sauna finder.

Against a barrel, and against a cheaper kit

Barrel saunas are built the same way: same staves, same tension hoops. A barrel is a full circle, so it takes the interior away exactly where your shoulders are. The Cube pulls the same hoop into a square-shouldered shape, and at this size that difference is dramatic: you get near-full headroom right out to the walls. What the cabin gives you is structural and cannot be added later: 42 mm solid staves, thermally modified timber and a full asphalt-shingle roof kit.

Budget

What the CL7G project costs beyond the cabin

$4.40Most a session costs to run
156Sessions a year at three a week
$690Most a year of electricity

Even on the biggest single-room Cube, electricity is a small share of what this project costs. Everything below it is the part that decides the budget.

  • Heater and stones, 9 kW electricSeparate purchase
  • Licensed electrician, dedicated 240 V circuit, permit and trench or conduitLocal quote
  • Foundation: concrete pad, pavers on compacted gravel, or an engineered deckLocal quote
  • Freight, set by SaunaLife per modelShown at checkout
  • Assembly by a handyman or contractor, or professional setup and assemblyLocal quote
  • Electricity, three sessions a week for a year$400 to $690
Our honest take: the 9 kW heater is what separates this project from the smaller Cubes financially, and not because of the heater itself. A 9 kW load usually means a heavier circuit than a 4.5 or 6 kW cabin needs, and if your panel is far from where the sauna will sit, that run is the number that decides whether this works. Get the electrician’s quote before you order anything else.
Scope

What comes in the crate with the SaunaLife CL7G

Everything structural is in the crate. The heater, the pad and the electrician are not, and together they are the larger half of the project.

Delivering the SaunaLife CL7G

Curbside LTL freight

One pallet to the contiguous 48, delivered to the end of your driveway. At 2,040 lbs, plan three or four people and a couple of hours to break it down and carry it.

Pallet 90 × 44 × 47 in

Measure your gate and the route to the pad against that before delivery day. A standard side gate is narrower than 44 inches.

Timing confirmed at order

The date range in the buy box is a planning estimate. We confirm the actual position for your model when you order, because availability across the range changes week to week. The carrier then calls to book a window.

Inspect before you sign. Walk the pallet with the driver, photograph anything wrong, and write it on the delivery receipt before signing. SaunaLife’s warranty excludes damage that visual inspection would have caught before installation, so a clean signature on a damaged shipment can cost you the claim. Call us from the driveway instead.

Freight is a separate charge set by SaunaLife per model and shown at checkout; stock ships from Wheeling, Illinois. Full terms are in our shipping policy and refund policy, with the SaunaLife-specific terms in the policy panels on this page.

What has been published elsewhere

What reviewers and owners report about the Cube Series

We have not sold enough of these to have reviews of our own, so we have not invented any. Here is what has been published about the Cube Series.

“In real-world use, one verified owner reports that with the Harvia 80B (8kW) heater, the CL5G heats from 65°F to 160°F in approximately one hour.”

Haven of Heat, a sauna retailer that reviews the CL5G it sells

That figure is for the 4-person CL5G on an 8 kW heater. The CL7G has two thirds again the volume and takes correspondingly longer, which is why the manufacturer list moves to 9 kW. Published coverage of the Cube Series is thin but consistent: owners are happy with the cabin once it is standing and impatient with the manual, and door hanging is the step most often singled out.

Where we would push back on the internet. Several retailer pages claim these cabins ship with front and back floor drains. They do not have plumbed floor drains; that description matches SaunaLife’s Ergo barrel series. (The CL12GCP does include a water diverter, which is not the same thing.) Others describe the 42 mm walls as insulation. They are not.

Buyer questions

SaunaLife CL7G questions buyers ask before ordering

What size heater does the SaunaLife CL7G need, and is one included?

9 kW, and no, the heater and stones are bought separately. The interior is 8.69 cubic meters and the glazed front is about 3.4 square meters by our estimate; Harvia’s rule adds 1.2 cubic meters of equivalent volume per square meter of glass or similar non-insulated surface, taking the sizing figure to roughly 12.8 cubic meters. That is past the top of the 8 kW band, which is why we default to 9 kW. SaunaLife’s own list carries both classes: 8 kW units such as the Harvia KIP80B, The Wall SW80 and TopClass KV80, and 9 kW units such as the Cilindro PC90, the HUUM DROP 9 and the Virta HL90E. Is the CL7G tall enough for a proper top-bench experience?

Yes, and it is the first Cube where that is true. The interior height is 85.5 inches, nearly seven feet, against 74.8 on the CL4G and CL5G. Finnish practice puts your feet at roughly the level of the stones, which needs headroom, and this cabin has it. The two upper benches sit high enough that the temperature difference between the bench and the floor is a real gradient rather than a gentle one.

How is the CL7G laid out inside?

Two facing benches, one down each side, each 70.52 inches long and 20.48 deep, with a contoured backrest behind each and a 70.52 by 8.27 inch footrest step below. The heater sits between them. It is a different arrangement from the smaller Cubes, which put a single bench against one wall, and it is what makes six bathers workable rather than theoretical.

Can I put the SaunaLife CL7G on my deck?

Not without someone qualified checking. At 2,040 pounds over 54.7 square feet the empty shell is about 37 pounds per square foot, the lowest of any single-room Cube, but pounds per square foot is not how a deck is assessed: this is a ton of permanent dead load concentrated in one place, before six bathers, a 9 kW heater, stones and water. A residential deck is typically designed for 40 pounds of live load plus a 10 pound dead-load allowance, and a sauna is dead load, permanently and in one place. Have a structural engineer or your deck builder check joist span, spacing and footings before you order.

Is the SaunaLife CL7G insulated?

No. Neither the product specification nor SaunaLife’s installation manual mentions insulation, an R-value or an insulation layer. The walls are 42 mm of solid thermally modified spruce. Some retailers describe that thickness as insulation; solid timber is not, which is exactly why the heater sizing adds a penalty.

What does freight cost, and how long until it ships?

Freight is a separate charge and the exact figure appears at checkout before you pay. SaunaLife sets the rate per model and it is the same wherever you buy. Stock ships from Wheeling, Illinois to the contiguous 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted case by case. On timing we confirm the position for your model when you order; the date range in the buy box is a planning estimate. The pallet is 90 by 44 by 47 inches and the shipment is 2,040 pounds, so plan the route from the curb to the pad carefully.

Can I return it, and what happens if it arrives damaged?

Thirty days from purchase, and the condition bar matters: it has to go back new, uninstalled and resalable in its original crating. Once the panels are screwed together it counts as installed and cannot be returned. A change-of-mind return may carry a 20 percent restocking fee and you pay the return freight, which on a shipment this size is a real number. Damage in transit is a different process and time sensitive: note it on the delivery receipt before you sign, photograph the crates before you move anything, and call us the same day.

What is the warranty on the SaunaLife CL7G?

SaunaLife's warranty document (Rev 260220) warrants its saunas against defects in workmanship for two years in residential use. We quote the two years and we will send you the manufacturer’s written warranty before you order, because that document governs any claim. Read three exclusions before you buy: the heater, its control unit and its stones are covered by their own manufacturer and not by SaunaLife; installation, delivery and the labor of removing or refitting a part are excluded; and a component returned for repair goes back at your freight cost.

How long does the CL7G take to build?

Two to three days with two people, and it is the most demanding cabin in the range short of the CL12GCP. There are three tension hoops instead of two, 77 roof shingles instead of 37, four bench assemblies and a 74-inch glass door. The manual calls for a ratchet strap of at least 27 feet, which is longer than most households own, so buy or borrow one before the pallet arrives.

Do I need a building permit, and does the heater need GFCI?

Both are local calls, and this is the model where the structure question gets closer. At 54.7 square feet the cabin is inside the IRC’s 200 square foot exemption for sheds, playhouses and similar uses, and inside the 100 and 120 square foot figures some state amendments use, but many building departments do not read a hard-wired sauna as a similar use at all. Ask before you order. Property-line setbacks apply either way. On GFCI, recent code editions have broadened ground-fault protection for outdoor equipment while several heater manufacturers warn their heaters can nuisance-trip a GFCI device. Settle it before the circuit is designed.

Nine kilowatts, and a heavier circuit

At 307 cubic feet with a full glass front this cabin is past the top of the 8 kW band, and the circuit is heavier than the smaller Cubes need. Ten minutes on the phone settles the model, the amperage and the guard clearance.
