Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Your order ships free from the manufacturer's California warehouse on a strapped pallet via insured LTL freight. Orders are processed within 2 business days, and delivery to most addresses in the contiguous US takes 5–7 business days after shipment. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.
Scheduling your delivery. The freight carrier will reach out before the truck rolls — most carriers call 24–48 hours ahead to lock in a four-hour delivery window. Some carriers (including R+L) send an email or text the morning of delivery instead. Respond promptly either way. If the carrier can't reach you and misses 2–3 delivery attempts, terminal storage fees kick in and the item may be returned at your expense.
What to expect at delivery. A 53-foot semi-truck arrives at your curbside. The driver uses the truck's built-in liftgate to lower the pallet to ground level — that's where their responsibility ends. Standard delivery does not include bringing the equipment inside, up stairs, or unpacking. Plan ahead: have help available to move it once it's off the truck. Someone must be present to sign for the delivery.
CRITICAL — inspect before you sign. Walk around the pallet and check every box before signing the Bill of Lading. Note any scratches, dents, or scuff marks directly on the delivery receipt. If you see a large hole, crushed corner, or obvious structural damage, refuse the delivery — we'll ship a replacement at no cost. Signing a clean BOL releases the freight carrier from all liability. A damage claim cannot be filed after a clean signature. This takes two minutes and fully protects you.
Good to know. If your address changes after the order ships, contact us immediately — carrier re-routing fees may apply and will add transit time. If your location cannot comfortably accommodate a 53-foot semi-truck (island, remote road, gated community, narrow access), contact us before ordering so we can arrange an appropriate solution.
Free freight applies to standard residential curbside delivery within the contiguous 48 US states. Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada are not available at standard checkout — contact us before ordering for a freight quote. Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees. Applies to all Golden Designs Inc. brands: Dynamic Saunas, Maxxus Saunas, and Dynamic Cold Therapy. View our full Shipping & Delivery policy →
Return Policy
Return Policy
We stand behind every product we sell. If it's not the right fit, you have 30 days from delivery to return it — and if you need to cancel before it ships, you can do that within 24 hours of purchase at no charge.
How to start a return. Email us your order number at sales@recoveryroomdirect.com and we'll issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number within one business day. Write that number clearly on the outside of every box before handing it to the carrier — the warehouse will not accept returns without it.
Condition required. The item must come back new, unused, and in its original packaging with all components, hardware, and accessories included. Items that have been assembled, used, or modified cannot be returned. Electronic components — power supplies, control panels, and accessories — are non-returnable under manufacturer policy regardless of condition.
What it costs to return. We want to be upfront about this: returning large freight equipment has real costs. The manufacturer charges a 20% restocking fee on all returns, and you are responsible for the return freight. If your original order shipped free, the actual outbound freight cost is also deducted from your refund. Any storage or carrier routing fees incurred during the return process are the buyer's responsibility as well. Once the item arrives at the warehouse and passes inspection, your refund is issued within 5 business days to your original payment method.
Damaged on arrival? That's a different process entirely — and you're fully protected. If you refused the delivery and documented the damage on the Bill of Lading, we handle the freight claim and ship you a replacement at no cost. No restocking fee, no return shipping. This is exactly why we ask you to inspect carefully before you sign.
The manufacturer warranty covers defects that arise after the 30-day return window. See full warranty terms at goldendesigninc.com. Questions about your order? Call us at 1-888-500-5675 or email sales@recoveryroomdirect.com — Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm EST. Applies to all Golden Designs Inc. brands: Dynamic Saunas, Maxxus Saunas, and Dynamic Cold Therapy. Golden Designs Reserve Edition · GDI-8230-01 · 3-Person Full Spectrum
FAR. Near. Mid. All Three Wavelengths. One Cabin. One Session.
Most home infrared saunas heat you with one wavelength. The Reserve Edition uses three — PureTech™ full-spectrum panels delivering FAR infrared for deep core warming, NIR for surface tissue and skin, and MIR for the layer in between. Add Near Zero EMF (under 3mG), three Himalayan salt bars, and bronze privacy glass, and this is the most complete infrared sauna in the RRD catalog at $5,499.
Affirm financing available at checkout — spread the investment over time.
The spa session that used to cost $85 now happens at home, any night you want it.
Premium day spas charge $75–$120 for a 50-minute full-spectrum infrared session. They use full-spectrum cabins — not FAR-only — because the combination of FAR, NIR, and MIR wavelengths delivers a more complete heat experience than single-wavelength units. That’s exactly what the Reserve Edition brings home: PureTech™ full-spectrum technology in a 3-person Canadian Hemlock cabin with Near Zero EMF, three Himalayan salt bars, and bronze-tinted privacy glass.
Three Himalayan salt bars are positioned where the airflow does the most work: two above the heating elements and one below the bench at lower-body level. The chromotherapy lighting system cycles through color frequencies inside. Outside, accent lights give the cabin a presence in the room that most home saunas don’t have. The Reserve Edition isn’t a utility sauna pushed into a corner — it’s designed to anchor a dedicated recovery space.
One planning detail worth knowing: the Reserve Edition uses two separate 120V/15A circuits. Standard household outlets — the same ones your appliances use — no 240V service, no 20-amp dedicated circuit required. You’ll just want two 15A outlets within reach of your installation spot, ideally on separate breakers. Our team is happy to walk through site requirements before you order: (888) 500-5675.
Full Spectrum: Why Three Wavelengths Outperform One
Most home infrared saunas emit FAR wavelengths only — a deliberate cost decision by manufacturers, since FAR panels are less expensive to produce than full-spectrum arrays. Premium wellness studios choose full-spectrum specifically because the multi-wavelength experience is more complete. The Reserve Edition’s PureTech™ technology combines all three infrared bands in a single session:
Six near infrared elements are integrated into the Reserve Edition’s panel array — no separate NIR lamp required. Surface-layer heat works alongside FAR deep-tissue warming in every session.
Three PureTech™ FAR infrared carbon panels provide deep-penetrating heat. Carbon flat-wave panels distribute heat more evenly than ceramic rod alternatives and produce lower EMF at operating temperature.
Ideal session range is 118–132°F, with the unit reaching up to 140°F. Full-spectrum heat tends to feel more intense at a given temperature than FAR-only — most users find their sweet spot at 120–125°F.
Three Himalayan Salt Bars: The Detail That Changes the Atmosphere
Himalayan salt lamps retail for $40–$80 as standalone accessories. The Reserve Edition integrates three salt bars directly into the cabin structure — positioned in the airflow path so warm session heat passes through the salt surface throughout your session. They’re not bolted on to justify the price. They’re built into the spatial experience.
Halotherapy research is still emerging, and we won’t overstate it. What users consistently report is a sensory environment that’s meaningfully different from a plain hemlock interior: the warm glow of the salt, the textural contrast with the wood walls, and the subtle atmosphere of a salt-bar cabin create an experience that’s closer to a premium spa than a standard home sauna. Add chromotherapy lighting and exterior accent lights, and sessions feel like an event rather than an appliance cycle.
Near Zero EMF — Under 3mG at Normal Use Distance
Near Zero EMF is the highest EMF tier in the infrared sauna market. Standard infrared saunas measure 2–10mG or more at contact distance. Low-EMF models are engineered to stay below that range. The Reserve Edition’s PureTech™ panels are designed to produce less than 3mG measured at 2–3 inches from the heating surface — the actual distance where you sit during a session.
For context: the U.S. EPA’s residential EMF guideline sits at 2mG. Near Zero EMF panels sit just above that threshold at use distance rather than well above it like conventional sauna heaters. If you use your sauna 5–7 days per week and want to minimize cumulative EMF exposure over years of daily sessions, the Reserve Edition’s Near Zero tier is the appropriate choice.
One thing worth understanding: the Near Zero EMF specification covers the PureTech™ carbon panels — all three FAR panels and the six NIR elements are engineered to the same standard. You’re not getting Near Zero EMF on the FAR panels and low-EMF on the NIR elements. The full-spectrum array is built to a single high-EMF standard throughout.
Features Built for Daily Use
The Reserve Edition is a daily-use cabin with premium finishes — not a showpiece that lives in a corner. Every feature is designed to work reliably session after session.
Proprietary panel technology delivers FAR, NIR, and MIR wavelengths simultaneously. The large carbon surface area produces lower surface temperature than ceramic rod heaters of equivalent output, distributing heat evenly across the seated body rather than radiating from a single point.
Bronze-tinted tempered glass door provides visual privacy without blocking light into the cabin. Exterior accent lighting adds ambient presence around the outside of the unit. Interior chromotherapy cycles through 7 color frequencies. Black finish door handle with interior towel bar.
Two standard household outlets power the Reserve Edition — no 240V service, no dedicated 20A circuit installation required. Most living rooms and basements already have two 15A outlets available. Two separate circuit runs are recommended. Plug in and start your first session the same day as assembly.
Pair any device via Bluetooth or use the MP3 auxiliary input for wired connection. Built-in speakers deliver clear audio inside the cabin. Control volume, track selection, and temperature from the interior LED panel without interrupting your session.
Natural reforested Canadian Hemlock throughout — a species chosen for infrared saunas specifically because it handles repeated thermal cycling without warping, resists moisture absorption, and produces no off-gassing at infrared operating temperatures. The double-wall panels add thermal efficiency.
The full-function LED panel sits at eye level inside the cabin. Set temperature, session timer, and chromotherapy from your seat without reaching outside. Intuitive enough to operate with minimal light — good for evening wind-down sessions where you want to keep the environment dim.
A Full Spectrum Session: What to Expect
Full-spectrum heat tends to produce a deeper sweat response at lower settings than FAR-only sessions. A session structure that works well:
Who the Reserve Edition Is Built For
You’ve had an infrared sauna for 2–4 years and love the routine. You’ve been reading about full spectrum and wondering if the difference is real. It is — and the Reserve Edition lets you find out without giving up 3-person capacity or build quality. This is the upgrade path, not a lateral move.
Your infrared spa membership runs $80–$120 a session. At 3 sessions per week, that’s over $1,000 a month. The Reserve Edition’s $5,499 price pays for itself in 5–6 months at that rate — and delivers a full-spectrum experience comparable to what you’re paying for, in the privacy of your own space.
The bronze glass, exterior accent lighting, and Himalayan salt glow make the Reserve Edition a visual centerpiece for a dedicated wellness space. It was designed to be seen, not hidden.
Not sure whether the Reserve Edition is the right call for your situation? Call (888) 500-5675 and describe your goals and space. We’ll tell you honestly whether full spectrum is worth the premium for your specific use case — or whether a lower-tier model delivers everything you actually need at a better value.
Owning vs. Going to the Spa: The Math
Full-spectrum infrared sessions at premium wellness studios average $80–$120 per visit in most U.S. markets. Here’s what daily-use ownership looks like against that baseline:
Full-spectrum infrared session at a premium wellness studio (estimated U.S. market average). Some markets run $100–$120.
At $85/session, 65 studio visits = $5,525 — approximately the cost of the Reserve Edition. That’s roughly 5 months of 3×/week use.
Electricity for a full-spectrum session runs $0.15–$0.30 at typical U.S. utility rates. After break-even, every session is effectively free.
Compare 3-Person Models
The Reserve Edition sits at the premium end of the 3-person category. Here’s how it stacks up against the two most popular FAR-only 3-person saunas in our lineup:

Honest take: If FAR infrared alone satisfies your recovery goals and budget is the priority, the Bellagio or Lugano at $2,699 are excellent saunas — we’d confidently recommend either. The Reserve Edition earns its $2,800 premium if full-spectrum heat matters to you (particularly NIR for skin and surface tissue), if Near Zero EMF is a meaningful concern for daily use, or if the Himalayan salt and bronze glass finishes are important for your space.
Full Specifications — GDI-8230-01
What’s Included — 5 Cartons
The Reserve Edition arrives via LTL freight in 5 cartons. All assembly hardware, heater pre-wiring, and accessories are included. Nothing arrives separately.
Shipping & Delivery
Ships via LTL freight carrier at no charge to your address. Delivered on a pallet, curbside. Estimated transit: 7–14 business days from order date depending on destination.
The freight carrier delivers to your curb or driveway — not inside the home. At 645 lbs across 5 cartons, plan for 2–3 people to move panels from curbside to your installation room. A furniture dolly or hand truck is helpful.
Most two-adult teams complete assembly in 2–3 hours. Panels arrive with heaters already wired — you’re joining pre-built sections, not building from components. No electrical work beyond plugging in two power cords.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does “full spectrum” infrared mean, and is the difference from FAR-only actually noticeable?
Full spectrum means the sauna emits infrared across all three wavelength bands: FAR (6–14 microns, deep tissue), NIR (0.7–1.4 microns, surface tissue and skin), and MIR (1.4–3 microns, mid-layer). Most home infrared saunas use FAR only because FAR-only panels are less expensive to manufacture. Premium wellness studios choose full-spectrum for the same reason they choose organic linens over standard ones — the multi-layer experience is more complete. Whether full-spectrum produces meaningfully different clinical outcomes is still researched actively. What most users who switch from FAR-only report is a more thorough, layered sweat at the same temperature setting — the heat feels less one-dimensional. For daily users, that subjective difference compounds over time.
What exactly is Near Zero EMF and does it matter for daily use?
EMF (electromagnetic field) is measured in milligauss (mG). Standard infrared saunas produce 2–10mG or more at contact distance. “Low EMF” models are engineered to stay in the lower end of that range. “Near Zero EMF” like the Reserve Edition’s PureTech™ panels targets under 3mG measured at 2–3 inches from the panel surface — the distance at which you’re actually sitting. For occasional sauna use, the distinction matters less. For daily users spending 30–45 minutes per session within inches of the heating panels, cumulative EMF exposure over a year is a legitimate consideration. The Reserve Edition is designed specifically for people who treat infrared sauna use as a daily health practice.
What do the Himalayan salt bars actually do, and do they require maintenance?
The three Himalayan salt bars are positioned in the warm airflow path inside the cabin — two above the heating elements and one below the bench. As the cabin heats, warm air circulates through and around the salt structures. Halotherapy (salt therapy) research is emerging and we won’t make specific clinical claims. What the salt bars demonstrably do is create a sensory environment meaningfully different from a plain hemlock interior — the warm glow, textural contrast with the wood walls, and subtle atmosphere make sessions feel more like a private spa than a home appliance. Maintenance: wipe the bars down if moisture visibly accumulates on the surface after sessions in humid environments. They don’t dissolve, deplete, or require replacement under normal indoor sauna use.
The listing says “dual 120V/15A.” What does that mean for my home setup?
The Reserve Edition runs on two standard 120V/15A household outlets — the same outlets that power your lamps, TVs, and most appliances. You don’t need 240V electrical service and you don’t need a dedicated 20-amp circuit installed. What you need is two separate 15A circuits within reach of your installation spot, ideally on different breakers to prevent a single breaker from tripping under combined load. Most living rooms, finished basements, and spare bedrooms have this available already. If you’re unsure about your specific setup, call us at (888) 500-5675 before ordering and we’ll help assess the site.
How complex is assembly, and can two people do it without professional help?
Two adults can typically complete assembly in 2–3 hours. The five cartons contain pre-assembled wall panels with heaters already wired inside — you’re joining pre-built sections at the joints, not assembling from raw components. All hardware, brackets, and tools are included. No electrical work is required beyond plugging in two power cords to standard outlets. The instructions are illustrated and clear. Professional installation isn’t necessary for most buyers, but if you prefer help, any local handyman service can assist with sauna assembly for $150–$300 depending on your market.
How does the Reserve Edition compare to going to a full-spectrum infrared spa?
Premium infrared spa studios in most U.S. cities charge $75–$120 for a 50-minute full-spectrum session. They use full-spectrum saunas — not FAR-only — precisely because full-spectrum is the premium category. The Reserve Edition provides a comparable cabin experience in your home. At 3 sessions per week, the sauna pays for itself in roughly 5–6 months versus ongoing studio fees. Home advantages: zero scheduling friction, no commute, full privacy, no session time limits. Trade-off: you clean and maintain it yourself, which takes about 5 minutes per session (wipe down the bench and glass).
What room size do I need, and can it go in a basement?
Yes — the Reserve Edition is designed for indoor use and works well in basements, spare bedrooms, finished bonus rooms, and dedicated wellness spaces. You’ll need a footprint of at least 62"W × 54"D to give the 58"×50" cabin a few inches of clearance on each side. Ceiling height of 78" or more is recommended (the unit stands 74" tall). The space needs two standard 15A outlets within cord reach. Allow a small air gap on the sides and rear. This model is not rated for outdoor installation.
Is this an authorized Golden Designs product, and what does the warranty cover?
Yes — Recovery Room Direct is an authorized Golden Designs dealer. You’re buying from an authorized source with full manufacturer warranty coverage — not a grey-market or third-party seller without warranty standing. The Reserve Edition carries the Golden Designs manufacturer warranty covering the cabin structure, heating elements, and electrical components against defects in materials and workmanship. Specific warranty term lengths are detailed in the documentation that ships with the unit. For warranty questions before purchasing, call (888) 500-5675 and we’ll review the current terms with you.
